Reviews for La Antigua Vaquería

Review 1:No complaints but a few words of caution: owners speak only Spanish. While 24hr reception is featured, I found the owners at work and had to ring to get mother(?) to let me in. Good breakfast but saw no sign of availability of other meals. Great bar restaurant in village but midweek it does not stay open late. If you want to have dinner go by 8pm.

Review 2:Wonderful laid back rural location, on street parking but only 10minutes from Cuenca. Welcoming owners, fresh cherries from the tree. Comfortable bed, peace and quiet. Probably best value for money place I have stayed. Wifi works in courtyard and then worked in room.

Review 3:The position, to go in Cuenca you need the car but you know it before booking so it is not a real problem

Review 4:Everything was fine, the room was super clean and comfortable

Review 5:A little remote

Review 6:Staff were lovely, very comfortable accommodation.

Review 7:It may have been the language barrier (we have no Spanish and vice versa) but our reception was somewhat cold. In the morning we felt more welcome but the first impression still coloured our opinion.

Review 8:A small village with the accommodation overlooking farmland. A very spacious and comfortable apartment.

Review 9:It is not very easy to find.

Review 10:Very nice facility and surroundings. It is only a few minutes drive from Cuenca for sightseeing (must have your own car) and is excellent value for money.

Review 11:we only saw a member of staff on arriving and on leaving. There was a bar but we weren't told about it and felt as if we were intruding. Only one other bar/restaurant in the village which was unfriendly and expensive.

Review 12:Pleasant room, nice courtyard

Review 13:The family-run hotel was clean, friendly and staff thoughtful.Lovely breakfast of local foods. Rooms overlooked typical delightfulSpanish courtyard

Review 14:No restaurant/bar open in the late evening.

Review 15:Very nice countryside location of Spain. Very quiet and peaceful. Nicefamily run hostal and facilities were good although we didnt use thespa. The family didnt speak english but we still felt welcome andenjoyed our stay.Extremely good value for money. Great fortravellers/backpackers. Not too far from shops and bars, also closeenough for the visit to the casas colgadas.

Review 16:the directions on web site do not reflect the location of the hotel, you drive along n420 then turn into the village, drive through the village pass the restaurant then left and at the end of the road turn right and the hotel is on the corner by water tank. hopefully if you read this you will not have the problem we had finding the hotel.

Review 17:The bed was very firm, otherwise the room was lovely.

Review 18:The hotel is an easy drive from Cuenca and surrounding beauty spots. The village setting is quiet with no "tourist" attractions, the village restaurant was recommended, but we didn't use it as we ate in Cuenca. Although the proprietor speaks no English, he used his phone to translate our conversations and to advise us, the easiest route into the Old Town and to other attractions.

Review 19:So quiet and peaceful, really comfortable, friendly host Alejandro, perfect for us.

Review 20:Old country-side style
