Reviews for Kempinski Seychelles Resort

Review 1:Distances within the hotel ressort are very long (walk way back to the room on the beach not possible on a path way) Sport facilities are very poor for such a ressort (diving, kajaking, no water ski)

Review 2:Friendlyness of the staff, Location in general

Review 3:Should upgrade its facilities, housekeeping protocols, upkeep and international menu options - falls short of what you'd expect of the Kempinski brand.

Review 4:Great locale and overall ambience. Staff is generally quite friendly. Good value. Fine breakfast.

Review 5:Horrible service. The location is kind of far away from all the beach activities and restraunts. The staff does not want to work, they take forever to get you anything. The beach literally has no staff working, they don't serve you towels or assist with anything. Everyone was so rude and when they make a mistake, they don't apologize. It did not feel like a five star hotel. Very disappointed with my stay at kempimski.

Review 6:Wish there were more play ground equipment for children and a place for adults to lounge in kids club when the children were at the pool. I wish that the half board included a bottle of water.

Review 7:Loved the free kayaks and snorkeling gear. Also loved the turn down service. We loved the child size robes and slippers and all the things you had for children from activities at kids club, the tortoise feeding and even the swing that was on the tree.

Review 8:Food wasn't great and expensive Staff worked more on their initiative rather than being trained location peaceful and beautiful, very relaxing

Review 9:upgrade to beach room

Review 10:service somehow slow. commodities in the room like soap, shampoo were not replaced on daily basis. towels too old and over used. didn't see beaches guards. very few staff on the beach. food and drinks very expensive

Review 11:staff friendly

Review 12:The food is expensive but more than the cost, it was not upto the quality of a 5 star. The Asian restaurant need to have more options.

Review 13:The location was very nice straight on the beach; staff very helpful and smiling. Took care of all our needs including baby food for our 1 year daughter. Room with the sea view very good. Break fast hearty.

Review 14:It was difficult to get out of the property, which is very big, on one hand, you can really enjoy the facilities and relax, on the other hand, it is hard to connect with the rest of the world and one can feel a bit secluded

Review 15:Very nice staff and excellent service, I had a computer issue that was difficult to solve and the IT manager spent 30 minutes with me and managed to solve it, that was really appreciated. Also when we arrived, our room had a smell of humidity, this was promptly solved with an upgrade in a far bigger suite with no humidity odor any longer. Breakfast was very good and the evening restaurant was excellent, food and wine. All in all excellence at an affordable price

Review 16:- attentiveness of the staff to ensure our wedding and honeymoon was perfect. - evening and night bedroom service which I have never experienced before despite in staying in numerous 4 and 5* hotels and resorts

Review 17:Food is totally overpriced, unbelievable!!! Everything else was asexpected for a Kempinski but the prices for Dining were out of control.I would recommend that you do not stay here until they have a seriouslook at what they are charging for a pretty average evening buffet.

Review 18:Nice facilities.

Review 19:My wife and I stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary and had a fabulous time. The resort is excellent and the staff are very friendly. We were given a surprise with a personalised card, sparkling wine and a cake - all of which was very well received. The scuba diving and tortoise feeding completed the experience for us. Some of the home-made jams available with breakfast were just splendid, notwithstanding the overall high quality of the food. Highly recommended. A big thanks to the staff for making our anniversary a special one.

Review 20:Reception service was bad. Waited 45min for bags after check-in only to receive someone else's bags. A very important letter we were waiting for was delivered at the reception which they could not locate and made our trip very stressful.

Review 21:Room comfort and cleaniness

Review 22:We were asked to stay in two different rooms in our two nights stay and said will upgrade us to a hill view suite on the second night, and we agreed. We were told to bring our luggage to the reception in the morning of the second faux so we can be moved to our new room straight away, we woke up at 7am on the second day, packed everything and moved them to the reception and been told the room is not ready, so we checked out from the room we stayed and haven't got our new room and ended up with no where to stay. We were told to come back to the reception after 2pm, and they will move our luggage to the hill view suite when we come back. We got back in the evening, the reception seems know nothing about this and took a long time to find the reservation and found our luggage in the storage room. We were taken to the new room, which was not hill view at all, it's exactly the same in terms of view and size as the one we stayed the night before, and was right upstairs to the room we stayed. Very bad experience over all.

Review 23:The spa was pleasant.

Review 24:When I checked in the Russian staff she was welcoming us with drinks then ignore us when she saw other guests arrived which was very rude. Even my friend with me said she is rude. Besides wifi is very slow in the room. When we complained in the hotel reception they advice us to pay extra to speed it up! Regarding food, there is not much options in the menu, even we tried the buffet it wasn't good. We went out for food eventually. The beach wasn't nice and rough we couldn't swim and the pool wasn't nice as well.

Review 25:The staff are friendly. Quite resort good for relaxation. Spa was good.

Review 26:The food was below average..basic dishes like a simple burger or a cheesecake were a hit and miss. It wouldnt have been a problem if the buffet was not pricey. We are avid travellers, and we know a thing or two about good food, I must say that we were disappointed considering that we ate at the resort most of our meals.

Review 27:Staff were very helpful and fast to respond to requests.

Review 28:Basically everything in the country is quite expensive and hard to find places to spend our holiday. Need more entertainment and activities or things to do.

Review 29:Great service, great staffs, great facilities from the moment we step in until the minutes after we checked out. We had alot of fun and enjoyed our stay with Kempinski. Thank you for providing us a heavenly service in a heavenly country.

Review 30:The pillows should be feather. The female staff were dressed in ridiculous wide trousers and hats, looking like clowns. The buffet was prohibitively expensive,£50 pp,not including any drinks.Water was £4 and a glass of alcohol from £8+.The Caribbean is far better in every way.

Review 31:The staff were very friendly, nice room and good food.

Review 32:The yoga class I booked at the hotel was cancelled without me being informed. I had to wake up early to go to class and when I arrived I was informed that it was cancelled.

Review 33:The location and swimming pool were amazing

Review 34:Room had a terrible smell that was diluted with an excessive amount of air freshener. Stayed at numerous Kempinski hotels and this one falls well below what I thought were fantastic kempinski standards

Review 35:Absolutely nothing.

Review 36:Genuine luxury at affordable price for this quality of service (keeping in mind that Seychelles are a costly destination). The setting is amazing, the resort being perfectly integrated in the scenery, framed by hills in the rear and a wide beach with white sand and pristine water in front. Rooms are huge and utterly comfortable: luxurious, king size bedding, spacious bathroom with italian shower, complimentary minibar with soft drinks and beer (refill at a cost). The themed dinner buffet is absolutely awesome, copious fresh food and fine cooking for every taste. Breakfast buffet is cast in the same mold. Last but not least, the staff is remarkably nice, discreet and always ready to fulfill the least of your desires.

Review 37:Waiting for check in before 2 after noon is crises. If you come before 2 they will tell you they are full and you need to wait to 2 afternoon.

Review 38:Food but very very expansive.

Review 39:The price for the food & bev was a ripe off - especially when compared to the authentic restaurants and cafe's in the area and outside the hotels. We particularly did not appreciate the cost to hire a car at the hotel compared to the other car hire providers at the airport and outside the hotels. The daily rate was 65% higher at the hotel than what we paid from a provider at 3 km's up the road.

Review 40:We particularly liked the friendliness and customer centricity of all the staff. The décor, quality of the facilities and location was excellent.

Review 41:The restaurants were very overpriced. The nightly buffet was $100 per person and was mediocre at best. The water was deemed too rough to go in by the hotel but they didn't offer any alternative activities which was disappointing (the resort is not near any other amenities so it is quite isolated).

Review 42:The beds are amazing! The rooms are beautiful, especially the sea view rooms that overlook the water (definitely worth the upgrade).

Review 43:The beach was not the best they could have done more with that set up and breakfast is always the same.

Review 44:Otherwise staff is great and the room was very comfortable and clean...

Review 45:There wasn't much to do in terms of cultural activities. I hoped there'd be more local food options available at the restaurants but there weren't too many. The pool is a bit small given it's a resort.

Review 46:The bed was a dream to sleep in - best sleep ever. We booked the beach access room and love the fact that we could leave the door open and listen to the sound of the rain and enjoy the fresh air while we slept.

Review 47:Food good but over priced. Not enough sea food on offer for a beach location. Theme dinner buffets are overpriced and the offer in the menu was not good.

Review 48:The friendliness and attentiveness of staff . excellent location and the Beauty of the Sea and landscape around was a nice experience. Excellent room layouts and comfort in the rooms. Manages free cocktail evening on Thursday was an excellent gesture. Free bikes and game room plus weekly activities for guests is very good offer from the hotel.

Review 49:The food wasn't great especially considering the prices expected a better quality of range at breakfast. I understand food needs to be imported however having been on other islands around the World I don't really see it as a justification especially when it's more expensive than London Paris or Dubai

Review 50:the staff as expected very pleasant from check in to the restaurants and also the beach the spa was very good and the atmosphere is home away from home

Review 51:Leaving

Review 52:My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The beach was perfect, hotel was great and the staff were amazing. Especially the staff at Windsong. Was also helped by one of the staff on his day off when we were at the shops. They offer daily activities so there's always something to do. Very friendly people.

Review 53:I didn't like the beach because you can't swim of the sea seeds and there was some rocks which can be cleaned and organized The gym equipment are not a lot It's 30 minutes from the airport

Review 54:the rooms are big with a nice balcony on the ocean The mini bar is free The bed is big and comfortable The club sandwich was great from room service I like the fresh from sea day which served fresh fish that was grilled infornt of you very good view mountain

Review 55:Service can be slow. But it's not like we are rushing.

Review 56:Some staff really went over and above. While some staff were lacklustre and actually looked annoyed at having to take our dinner orders. But overall everything balances out.

Review 57:If you have a small baby, request not to stay at the farthest end of the hotel because it is too difficult to walk all that way(we were at 701)

Review 58:Staff is wonderful/ helpful/ smiling. Beach is excellent. Hotel room and housekeeping is excellent. Food tastes great.

Review 59:breakfast is same everyday staff move at island speed food is very expensive and not great. choice of restaurants are limited spa treatments are expensive

Review 60:room is clean and a good size. beach has seaweed but less rough than other areas on island early checkin isn't a problem

Review 61:We had the seafood buffet on our last night and had the wine package as well. Although the food was good, we found that is was a bit overpriced and not quite the value for money we were looking for. The wine package is advertised as SCR 400 but is in fact SCR500 including tax.

Review 62:Prior to our arrival, I wanted to get some 'tips' on the Kempinski by reading previous guests' reviews. I was a little concerned by some of the negative comments, especially about the reception. I couldnt have disagreed more. We had an excellent experience when checking in and felt so welcomed by the ladies and gentlemen in the reception area. Yasmin gave us a very detailed orientation and showed us to our room. We absolutely loved the beach and the Windsong beach bar for lunch. We had dinner in the Ala Carte restaurant on our first evening and loved the food! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We were treated to complimentary drinks on our first evening at the hotel. A wonderful welcome and great way to meet other guests. The fresh hibiscus in the rooms is a lovely touch.

Review 63:The room service is not up to the level of the overall services provided.

Review 64:The design of the resort is impressive, the food is excellent and varied except for the open buffet. Magnificent beach.

Review 65:We were kept waiting for an hour for check in and still even the simple task of checking in took a further half hour. This lead to is missing a dinner reservation.

Review 66:Room was spacious and well appointed. Comfortable bed.

Review 67:Food and drink is crazily over priced, and taxis are so expensive it's hard to explore. I advise renting a car if staying for more than a couple of nights

Review 68:Great visit; nice hotel, nice staff, very relaxing, lovely beach, decent snorkeling

Review 69:Dining option is quite limited. Not much choice for the price paid. Not much daily activity other than beach.

Review 70:Very nice beach and the rooms are very cozy.

Review 71:Beach was restricted by Kempinski owner who hired a security guard to stop people from walking along the beach past his private home (but the beach is public!). Activities on the beach restricted. Water a bit shallow with weeds, and lots of sea urchin. Front desk staff really confused and disasociated caused many inconveniences. Beach staff negligent, always causing us to walk to the hotel to ask for help

Review 72:bed was great, room was large and comfortable. Breakfast staff friendly. Food was good quality (but not gourmet). I would never go back to this hotel

Review 73:That we couldn't stay longer.

Review 74:A truly wonderful haven. The design, decor and layout of the resort and rooms are sympathetic to the lush green tropical surroundings, the imposing furrowed boulders, the pure white sands and warm, crystal blue seas in every shade of blue imgaginable. The staff are incredibly warm, smiley and friendly; nothing's too much. Gastronomical delights and cocktails provide everything you could expect from 5 star luxury. Evening enterainment- music through a the decades is superb.

Review 75:Housekeeping was wanting, - on one day our room had not yet been by 330pm and had to call in, - on another day they did not replace any towels and had to call in and they were replaced after 45 mins waiting.

Review 76:The facilities are great. Wonderful food at the Windsong Restaurant. Great welcoming staff

Review 77:Bed was really uncomfortable, wifi working only outside ur room, breakfast is not worth the price. U feel like hotel trying to rip you off when we asked to arrange pick up from airport they suggested the price of 145€ when we get a taxi for only 50€.

Review 78:Beautiful resort, friendly staff.

Review 79:Internet connection. Many needs are not available in the gift shop or nearby supermarkets. For example, no barber shop.

Review 80:Privacy of beach. Variety of restaurants. Available activities. Spa. TV Channels. Quick check-in.

Review 81:I am travelling with 2 friends, due to misunderstanding, I have booked a room for 2 people, the staff rejected me to pay for extra bed for my friend, the only option is pay for an extra room, you can imagine the extra cost we need to pay for that 5/4 star resort. I am frustrated, not only about the extra cost but the staff's attitude, she seems to tell 'please leave if you are not going to pay for the extra room'. She gave me a smile until I accepted to pay for an extra room. I am upset with that attitude from a 5 star resort and the inflexibility room policy. Also, we need to pay EUR35 for breakfast which is not worth in terms of the food they served.

Review 82:The resort with nice environment; Nice long white sand private beach; Good facilities for snorkel. Free drinks inside refrigerator (until you finished the 1st lot); The resort price is reasonable if compare with other similar resorts in Seychelles.

Review 83:The location of the hotel is away from shops (takes more than 30 minutes walk to get to a near by shop), there were no near by restaurants. The side salads served with some meals were bitter and not tasty.

Review 84:Staff were very friendly and accommodating. There many activities organized within the resort. Ambiance was very relaxing. The meat in the restaurants was Halal.

Review 85:Reception staffs are somehow not friendly and they always get the phone during conversation

Review 86:Restaurant, Facility, Gym, Program, nice staff (Especially restaurant staff)

Review 87:nothing

Review 88:some of the staf were extremely friendly, and very helpful and did take the xtra mile for our comfort. and they do that not asking for money just for the sake of welcoming. Ricky and junio in the scuba diving centre were very sweet and made sure we had the most amazing time in our snorkeling class. Katherine from room service was very sweet and she cleaned our room very well and she is very polite

Review 89:Speed of check in was slow Offered an upgrade to sea view room by mail on the day yet this was not available - but in hindsight a good thing as the sea view is only available through fairly dense trees if you are on the ground floor!

Review 90:Most staff well trained Very comfortable bed in room Friendly and laid back feel

Review 91:- Limited food options (esp. for vegetarians) - Shallow pool - No ATM nor ability to charge taxi fares to the room (makes it difficult to get around unless you withdraw a lot of cash from the airport on arrival) - Internet connectivity limited to 3 devices (even on paid plan) which is not enough for 2+ people

Review 92:- Comfortable bed and room - Manicured property grounds - Swimming gear (googles, mask/snorkel, etc.) available at no charge

Review 93:Just the last few days weather and the hotel should have more signage boards to reach the resort

Review 94:The staff have been excellent and provided excellent service .... Specially Mr. Gautam the resturatan manager and the staff Mr. Dipesh .... They have provided 5 star service

Review 95:Nothing, we liked everything :D

Review 96:The staff are awesome and the resort offers plenty of activities you will never run out of things to do, also the resort is huge so you can enjoy privacy and alone time if you're looking for it. There are near beaches that you can walk to which are more beautiful than the one in the resort, the staff will help you with directions.

Review 97:We did notice that some of the beach chairs could be better maintained. Also we did not have a propper 5* service while at the beach (staff nowhere to be seen). At breakfast i think that the bread is either not made fresh at the hotel or it stays out for too long and with the humidity from the air gets really hard, but overall definitely recommend it.

Review 98:My wife and I stayed at this resort recently. Our experience was very good, the hotel staff was always kind and helpful. The room was clean ans very comfortable.
