Reviews for Hôtel Le Médiéval

Review 1:Freezing cold room due to draughts from around the door. Lots of leaves and debree on floor blown in under the door. Staff made no attempt to clean up the room. I was charged 70 Euros per night despite signs all over the hotel showing a rate of 51 euros per room during January

Review 2:Location

Review 3:The street the hotel was on needs a bit of a tidy up. First impressions are important and we didn't get a very good impression as we arrived. Room felt dark and oppressive. If the curtains were opened everyone walking past had direct visibility into the room Breakfast was not worth € 9 per person

Review 4:Proximity to old town Proximity to Camargue Clean, comfortable, wifi and TV worked

Review 5:Breakfast was overpriced and had a limited selection for the price. Staff were not particularly helpful and only limited information about the surrounding district was available. Room key was extremely difficult to use, lock probably needs fixing. Whole place had an air of neglect.

Review 6:Location close to the old walled town, the onsite free parking. Good location for one or two nights to explore the old town and do a canal tour. Basic room and bathroom facilities.

Review 7:Both the hotel area and surrounding were untidy. The hotel area could easily have been more attractive if the leafes had been brushed away. The cigarette butts in the outdoor ashtray were not removed for several days.

Review 8:Good location by the canal and just a few minutes walk from the old Town. Free hotel parking outside the hotel. Modern architecture and stylish room interior.

Review 9:We had a difficult time conversing though the signs claim English is spoken. We stopped the night before to confirm our reservation before and to book another room for a fellow biker. They couldn't find our reservation but gave me a price for another room. When I brought the other couple down to register, they then said they were booked up. My sister had stayed there and she found our reservation in their book. The whole place is in need of a thorough cleaning from the rooms to the common areas and pool. Our room was fairly clean but the walls, doors, drawers, etc were dirty and wall hangings were dusty. Based on reading prior reviews, I would say the new owners/staff have not maintained their rating.

Review 10:The location was good in that we just completed a bicycle/barge trek and the barge docked on the canal close to the motel. The train station is also close by as is the entrance to the walled city. There is a very good restaurant adjacent to the motel.

Review 11:As in many places in France only cash is accepted as payment for the room

Review 12:Nice situated along the canal,at 5 minutes walk to the old city.Room nice and breakfast good.Rather quiet also.Wifi without any problem.Parking place just before the hotel

Review 13:1) The hotel lacks attention to small details and empathy to the needs of customers. It looks superficially clean but those spots not seen in the first glance are unclean; parts of towel hangers where towels are usually not hung, inside corners of shower booth, underside of toilet seat, etc. The room could use more storage, and they should fix the periodic noise from the outdoor pool. 2) Most importantly, the staffs were mechanical and indifferent. The reception opens at 4pm, and early-arrivals can't even leave luggage.

Review 14:Hôtel Le Médiéval has many right pieces of puzzle to be a very good hotel - modern complex with a pool in the center, sleek renovated rooms, location overlooking a canal, convenient private parking right in front of the hotel.

Review 15:I liked the lady owner, her daughter and the staff, I liked the very clean place and the way they treated their guests. I was going to arrive late, so I found the room open and ready for me, they accepted my pet cat as well, and the hotel is located just few minutes away from the lovely old town centre; I would go back there anytime.

Review 16:Room ready in plenty time (early!) Easy walk into old town

Review 17:Service on arrival

Review 18:Swimming pool

Review 19:Swimming pool was green with algae and unusable. No bar and precious little staff presence.

Review 20:Room and bathroom clean and function able.

Review 21:None

Review 22:Closeness to the castle

Review 23:Because of the canal sete and rhone you should have mosquito repellent

Review 24:very calm close to old town Large comfortable room Nice pool

Review 25:Sloping roof .. Kept banging head Lack of chair in room

Review 26:Location Swimming pool

Review 27:Rooms were not clean to the standard we would expect. Breakfast a little over-priced.

Review 28:Location and parking

Review 29:Limited availability of reception No check in until 4 pm Plastic mattress cover Shower holder at waist height

Review 30:Location-a short stroll to walled city Size of room Quiet location

Review 31:Hair dryers are not as standard, and the shower cubicle (no bath) did not have a shower head holder high up - so you have to shower holding the shower head, which was really inconvenient. So just to be aware.

Review 32:The lady running the place was very friendly. Limited English but tried her best to communicate (luckily I spoke good French or it might have been difficult). It was all very clean and in a good location for visiting. Breakfast was all fresh and although continental only, very good and suited us fine.

Review 33:No Hair Dryer..no Telephone...unfriendly/uncooperative hostess/owner? who seemed to be very confused and was not friendly at all...asked for ice and was given 4 cubes!! WiFi did not work when first checking in...and then did not work at all when tryingto check out...so her system would not accept our credit cards..either French or USA. Proprietor seemed to be very irritated when we did not go for the breakfast offered...very meager and expensive for what was offered!!

Review 34:Modern rooms with A/C!!! Walk-in Shower!! Yes !! Close to the walled village.

Review 35:It was winter and cold so the tile floor throughout room made for somechilly feet. Not a problem normally! The shower cubicle was well fittedout except for that wonderful French thing of having a hand held showerwaist high ! Not the end of the world, though.

Review 36:The most friendly couple greeted us and were very attentive. We had toleave early in the morning, so the owner, David, had coffee and a lovelybreakfast ready before normal hours. A pleasant stay was had.

Review 37:Internet connectivity very unstable and occasionally unavailable.

Review 38:Perfect location for business in Montpellier and around if one doesn't want a large city hotel. Good selection of excellent restaurants around.

Review 39:Beds too hard- very important issue! Also, plumbing issue forced us from our room in the morning without being able to use the toilet!

Review 40:All was good, pool looked inviting, very clean. Room good size, buildings look well kept.

Review 41:Absolutely fantastic little hotel. Really nice people. Great value. Stay here, not inside the castle which is a lot more expensive!! Really lovely place!!

Review 42:The plastic bed sheet made for a very hot and uncomfortable nights sleep. No security safe for valuables.

Review 43:Clean and modern, short stroll to lovely Aigues-Mortes, easy access by car to surrounding area.

Review 44:We stayed one night at the Medieval and we really enjoyed the place, only five minutes walk to the ancient walls. The rooms are confortable, the breakfast is good and the service is excelent. Very fiendly owners.

Review 45:Location - close to walled town but outside ramparts so easy to park and then get around. Hosts - happy to share recommendations for places to eat. Room - spacious and clean. Breakfasts - varied options

Review 46:No phone and kettle in the room.

Review 47:Location, few minute walk from the walled medieval town which offers a great selection of quality restaurants and peaceful ambiance in the evening. Pleasant service. Good internet service.

Review 48:Nothing as we liked everything about the hotel.

Review 49:The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and made our holiday very enjoyable. They gave suggestions about places to visit and directed us to the best places to eat. The buffet breakfast was varied and very enjoyable. The host was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Review 50:No tea and coffee making facilities in the room and really only bed and breakfast accommodation so no other meals catered for and limited opening hours at reception. No chair in the room.

Review 51:Owners were friendly and helpful. Accommodation very clean and well presented. Free wifi.

Review 52:water in the pool was not appealing...

Review 53:Location next to old town

Review 54:Small hotel with new structures, kind personnel and good price.

Review 55:No hairdryer available !! For most females that is a must!

Review 56:Basic nice clean hotel, polite receptionist good value!

Review 57:Plastic sheet on the bed

Review 58:Close to the walled town for easy access. Quiet.

Review 59:Nice modern room and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Very good value for money. I would definitely stay again in this hotel.

Review 60:"cold tiled floors"

Review 61:Location Car Parking Friendly helpful owners

Review 62:Poor ventilation in the room (8).

Review 63:Personnel (the patrons!) Whole layout Situation

Review 64:Great location, 5 min walk into Aigues Morte. Great restaurant next door.
