Reviews for Nuestra Señora del Carmen
Review 1:Over the bed was a shelf which prevented you from sitting on it to watch tv . Otherwise there was a chair each to sit on but not comfortable for a long time and not convenient for watching the tv
Review 2:The room and en suite were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very cheap €4. The accommodation was very central. With good parking facilities .
Review 3:Everything
Review 4:An absolutely fantastic place to stay, so different than the run-of-the-mill hotels. The monks and other staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is superb being only a short walk to restaurants and bars and not much further to the castle and church. There was a good choice of items at breakfast and lots of toasters so no waiting. The rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Great shower room with plenty of hot water. Don't hesitate to book this accommodation, you won't be disappointed.
Review 5:It was a truly spiritual experience. Founded by John of the Cross it is attached to his church .Run by Carmelite monks who really care. It is in the modern part of town but very near the old part of town.
Review 6:When we arrived, there was no welcome of any kind from the unsmiling old fellow at reception. We thought he might belong to a silent order of monks!
Review 7:Wonderful building in a great location in the heart of the biz. Quiet room, you could hear a pin drop! Very comfy beds. You could not find nicer people on this planet than the Carmelite monks - they were happy, friendly, kindly and caring. We loved the cloisters and the huge garden. What a huge building to maintain! This is totally unlike a boring corporate hotel. Highly recommended and tremendous value.
Review 8:The building is beautiful, monastery-like. The rooms are at the same time stylish, spare and the most functional ever. Even the lights are where they should be! Free parking in the yard. Fast Wifi.
Review 9:Would have expected a little better quality wine with dinner, considering its a reputable wine region of Spain.
Review 10:This a great central location to see all Caravaca's sights. The hotel was excellent in all respects and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was particularly good value for 3 Euros. The dinner was simple cooking and very tasty and portions were adequate. A free tour was offered of the Monastry, which was very interesting.
Review 11:Everything was good or excellent .
Review 12:Quiet,calm,clean.very good WiFi. Buffet Breakfast simple but sufficient. Evening meal must be ordered before midday, very good cook who discusses your needs when you order, both meals reasonably priced.
Review 13:Disappointing view from rooms. How could they allow a block of apartments so close. Entrance to hotel difficult to find as it is part of a traffic light set up.
Review 14:Nothing like a hotel. Few guests. Respectful of environment.
Review 15:Monks were really friendly; rooms are a good size and very clean. For the price (2 € + tax) breakfast is really good. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.
Review 16:Every aspect was perfect from the friendly and warm welcome to the cleanliness and presentation. Nothing was too much to ask and the monks take great pride in showing you round the monastery which is still used and magnificent. Well worth a visit
Review 17:Language barrier from English to Spanish was a problem.
Review 18:This excellent old monastery now a hotel run by an order of brothers was great value and very enjoyable stay.
Review 19:Exit from the car park can be a little tricky, as it's situated on a T junction with traffic lights.
Review 20:A most convenient central location, ample parking, clean and simple accommodation, with pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 21:Nothing!
Review 22:Clean, quiet, beautiful. Location is perfect! OK no fancy bits like TV but just a fantastic place to stay. I cannot think of any reason for not staying here if you are going to the wonderful Caravaca.Free private, secure parking!
Review 23:Entrance to secure parking on site a little tricky but the sat-nav kept us right.
Review 24:From the moment we arrived we were very happy. The rooms are basic, clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxing despite being close to a busy road. I would stay again and recommend it. Easy walking distance into the old town/church for spectacular views.
Review 25:Character, this place has more character than anywhere else. When was the last time you stayed in a working Monastry. Little English spoken which just adds to the charm. Clean, simple, charming. Not set up for children. Situated in the best part of the town centre. Has a lift
Review 26:The greeting was warm and friendly and the whole place was beautifully maintained and extremely clean. The bedrooms were basic but gave you everything you needed the beds were comfortable. The food was very good and I would highly recommend this to anyone going to this area

Review 29:The monastery was in a great location on the edge of the old town and in the middle of the shopping area. It was pristine in every respect and the Monks were so helpful and willing, a very tranquil setting in the middle of town. The breakfast was far more than we expected for the money, nothing was lacking.
Review 30:We liked everything. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is superb as it is located in the heart of the old town. You were welcome to access all areas of the monastery with a superb walled garden. We listened to a choir one evening and an orchestra on another evening. Breakfast buffet was 3 euros and there was loads of choice. Car parking available. Wi-fi available. A great mix of modern with old. Everywhere immaculately clean. We can't wait to go again and think everyone should try this amazing place.
Review 31:It is a little difficult getting into and out of the parking lot - be careful! We don't know Spanish, so it was a bit difficult to communicate with those at reception.

Review 58:peaceful and cheap
Review 59:Everything was wonderful it is better than many hotels I have stayed in, in fact in respect of customer service and cleanliness there are many hotel staff and management that should go here for training !
Review 60:I really cannot praise this establishment enough. It is attached to a working monastery and is largely staffed by the 4 Carmelite brothers who live in the monastery, with a few lay helpers.Firstly, location. It is perfectly located in the heart of Caravaca, with good private parking, so that you can leave your car there during your stay and visit all the attractions of Caravaca on foot. The building is beautiful. Parts of the monastery date back to 1587, but the hotel area has been beautifully, stylishly and thoughtfully renovated. The public areas are bright and airy and crisp and clean. There is also a large garden to one side. The rooms are not large, but perfectly adequate. There are two single, and very comfortable, beds, with good quality linen, more than adequate wardrobe space, sufficient power points and a shower room with toilet and hand basin with good water pressure and plenty of good hot water. Basic toiletries of soap and shower gel are provided. The rooms are simple, clean and bright. Ours had a view out over the garden. One of our party and I have both travelled extensively on business and we both thought that we had been less comfortable in some 4 star hotels in which we had stayed!Breakfast is available at a cost of 3€ plus IVA. It consists of bread (with toasters available) with savoury and sweet spreads, cake and fruit. There is plenty of fruit juice and coffee available. It is simple fare but will sustain you for your sightseeing of the day!You can order an evening meal, which is 10€ plus IVA. This is taken in the dining room that is also used by the brothers. We ate in on one night of our two night stay and had salad, tortilla Espanol, a chicken soup also containing a very tasty meatball, chicken fillets and mushrooms, with yoghurts and fruit to finish. A bottle of wine and water were also included. Simple fare, well prepared and well presented.
Review 61:The town of Caravacca del la Cruz was very closed up for the winter - we struggled to find a restaurant open on Monday night and had to use a tapas bar - which was great as a tapas bar
Review 62:Lovely friendly place - simple but comfortable - wi-fi in the rooms too - highly recommended
Review 63:Breakfast available - very spanish (tea/coffee, bread and biscuits only)
