Reviews for Casa Rural & Spa La Graja

Review 1:parking initially difficult...but simple once you've seen around the town

Review 2:lovely courtyard, spa if you wanted, very quirky rooms, many added on to an old building, so many outside walls within!!

Review 3:Breakfast was dissapointing but at the price can not complain as everything else was so good.

Review 4:Genuine farmhouse type feel. Rooms excellent (some with PC) Common area with vending for drinks and snacks also large flatscreen tv and Computer. Air Con in all rooms.Beautiful courtyard with old farm equipment and a well.

Review 5:The hotel has a nice decorate , looks very familiar and the first impression was good. The problems started when we went to our bedroom, surprise no A/C , taking into account that the Spanish summer could have temperatures around 40 degrees is imperative to provide this in all rooms, well we've asked and they have 12 rooms the only without A/C was ours, so, if you doesn't provide the full service to all the rooms then not offer it, we couldn't sleep the hole two nights there and they didn't offer any solution more than a poor fan . I will copy here what they offer : "Rooms at the property have air conditioning, central heating and a private bathroom. Each room offers a TV and DVD player" I really feel cheated .... The Breakfast ... far far away from the delicious Spanish breakfast , just bread , some poor quality industrial pastries , any trace of Ham, Cheese , eggs or something that remains that you are in spain , as probably most people knows this is not a luxury , but they really did a very low cost (in terms of business , not customer cost) selection of breakfast

Review 6:The Spa was nice , but of course It wasn't included in the price , 15 Euros per person was the tariff for 1 hour. but with the hot weather and the room without Aircon, that was the option to minimize the heat and try to refresh ourselves a little.

Review 7:In Chinchon itself, there are a number of houses left in a dilapdated state which detracted from the visit to the Plaza Mayor

Review 8:Renovated to a very high standard and the staff were extremely helpful

Review 9:There were 2 cereal choices and both were total sugar, best avoided.

Review 10:This place has great atmosphere and a wonderful alternative to a generic "modern " hotel. The room was very comfortable and quiet ( very important since we'd just arrived from a 22 hour flight ). We loved the rustic presentation and it was a lovely first night in Spain. The walk down to the Plaza Mayor was really pleasant and the were plenty of places to eat , drink and watch the passing parade. Breakfast included some Spanish specialities and was good value.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:You enter through a plain wooden door into beautiful courtyard. The owners are delightful and welcoming. Being able to speak a little Spanish is help. We had a large ground floor room with a sitting area although there is an upstairs lounge with a PC. Wifi was ok. The breakfasts were lovely. Loads of fruit, cereal cakes pastries toast with preserves or tomato, juice and coffee. We loved. Car pRking was easy within 100 yards. Chinchon is a lovely old town. They were setting up for the corrida in the main square. Interesting to see how it's done even though the event itself would not be for us. Altogether a great place to stop on our way from the med to the ferry

Review 13:Pretty interior courtyard. Very comfortable rooms. Lovely sitting area upstairs with comfortable sofas. Very good value for money. Short walk down the hill to the medieval Plaza Mayor. Everything explained by friendly & helpful Alex!

Review 14:Impossible to find without GPS (we had one so we realized with that help even how difficult it would be if you have none). No parking options (2 streets further). Food in little city extremely expensive. Opening hours restaurants in town.

Review 15:Spacious rooms, clean, welcoming staff, comfort, out of hectic location. Great breakfast.

Review 16:We stayed 4 days and had only one day that breakfast was not organised properly. Other days good and well served. English language lacking.

Review 17:Loaction good for relaxing evenings in town. Friendly personnel. Rustic old type house very well decorated in that style for those that like this sort of accomodation.

Review 18:Nothing!

Review 19:An excellent value Casa Rural in a wonderful location, ideally situated for various destinations. Great staff, lovely rooms and a good breakfast.

Review 20:Everything, it is wonderful

Review 21:I would have liked some eggs for breakfast also the breakfast started a bit late for us as we left early in the morning.

Review 22:Beautiful indoor court yard, traditional style with underground spa. Would definitely recommend.

Review 23:A lovely and well maintained hotel with a historical feel. A beautiful inner courtyard and well supported communal area. All very attractive

Review 24:Such a beautiful rustic perfect property with friendly staff. Very quiet and peaceful, could easily live there.

Review 25:Breakfast and decorations

Review 26:The price increase of 30 euros from end of July to early august.

Review 27:Interesting interior. Breakfast lady excellent service and very helpful.

Review 28:Sea,habitación espaciosa y comods

Review 29:Wifi poor

Review 30:Rustic, interior beautifully restored, room again rustic, very comfortable. great value for money

Review 31:Our second stay at this lovely small hotel. We had tw of the larger rooms. Both good but the upstairs one exceptional. Breakfast ample and enjoyable.

Review 32:Lovely setting and atmosphere.

Review 33:Just a short drive outside of Madrid

Review 34:Hard to find. All down hill to the Plaza Mayor but a steep climb back up!

Review 35:Gorgeous building. Great breakfast. Lovely room.

Review 36:Breakfast on offer lacked choice

Review 37:Room facilities - very spacious. Interesting decor throughout building - lots of character. General ambience

Review 38:Nothing. it is really good that there are these jewels still able to be found in this modern high speed world.

Review 39:Everything about the whole stay. Extremely friendly, helpful staff who were willing to assist to make our stay very memorable. Room was excellent, great use of space to maximise the rustic Spanish charm. The town of Chinchon is worth a visit by all, the Plaza Major was an experience in itself, excellent bars and restaurants in what was a very enjoyable night's stay.

Review 40:The only negative is not really a complaint, but rather a matter of personal preference. We always have difficulty in all but the largest hotels, finding plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Fruit was provided, but there was little variety for those of us who don't eat the standard Spanish bread and cakes. It has to be admitted that the home-made cakes looked delicious and there was plenty of variety for those who enjoy that sort of breakfast. Nevertheless, the whole package was excellent value for money and we wouldn't let this deter us from staying there again.

Review 41:We stayed five nights at this beautifully appointed, little hotel, while touring the area and visiting Madrid. The location was quiet, easy to find with a GPS and parking was never a problem in the surrounding streets. Both rooms we stayed in were comfortable, spacious enough to allow a small sitting area and tastefully decorated, in keeping with the age and history of the property. All staff were friendly and helpful (especially the young man who greeted us on arrival) and both the upstairs and downstairs communal areas were a delight to relax in. It is a short walk downhill to the Plaza Mayor and the bus stop for Madrid is also at an easily walkable distance. Try to experience the Plaza Mayor during a weekend - during the week, it almost becomes a car park!

Review 42:Provision of small packets of shampoo and body wash. Never enough in them and you end up with empty packets in the shower cubicle with you. Coffee at breakfast very strong and not hot. Wi-Fi weak in some parts of the room.

Review 43:We had the room Los dos Calles. Lovely views from the window. Old feel to the bedroom, in keeping with the property. Hotel owner very helpful. We would stay again.

Review 44:Street Parking 300 metres away. The charm and the limitation of this venue is that it is a converted grange or barn. Altitude can be a bit challenging for some. plenty of choice for restaurants and bars but some are a tourist trap especially around the Plaza Major.

Review 45:The town is well worth visiting, The staff gave good advice we were able to use the hourly local bus service to visit Madrid using it as our base.

Review 46:This is a lovely hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good. The hotel does not offer parking but we never had any difficulty finding anywhere to park.

Review 47:Very difficult to find the place, and I speak reasonable Spanish. Only 5 minutes down to the town centre, but triple that on the way back up to the accommodation. The "economy room" really is a single with a double bed in it.

Review 48:Friendly staff who were very helpful. Very interesting building, that has been lovingly restored, with many of the original features.

Review 49:Nothing to complain about.

Review 50:We thought that the Casa Rural La Graja was a unique hotel for its style and decor. The rooms were a good size and well equipped. The staff were helpful and friendly. It's situated in a quiet area with just a pleasant short walk to the centre of town.

Review 51:Can't think of anything

Review 52:View from the room, Location Value for money Room comfort Staff's friendliness

Review 53:bit difficult to find even with map

Review 54:close to old town. nearby parking. staff friendly. room very nice and also large

Review 55:Would have liked on site parking but street parking nearby not a problem

Review 56:Very friendly old world feel with all mod cons. Great breakfast

Review 57:Second time we have stayed there, just as nice and just as friendly as our first stay, also with breakfast included is excellent value.

Review 58:n/a

Review 59:Location,ambiance,quaint town.
