Reviews for Hostal Cortes
Review 1:Wish the staff had shown us the bar and breakfast room which were not upfront and visible and only found as checking out.
Review 2:Hostal quite dark and old fashioned but the staff were very helpful even though there was nobody who could speak English when we arrived. Our room was quiet, comfortable and spacious with twin beds and en suite bathroom with over the bath shower. No aircon but didn't need it in October. The secure garaged parking was €8 extra and great if you cannot find any room on the street outside. Excellent value for the price.
Review 3:was very disappointed because we thought the bar would be open in the evening we understand that it might not have been a busy time of the year but we had planned to sit in there in the evening for a drink it should tell you on the site that it would be closed they could have just sold can drinks the person on reception could have done that
Review 4:the accommodation, the staff, the location,
Review 5:The room had a smell of stale cigarettes.
Review 6:The hostel allowed us to check in early for no extra charge, the rooms were clean and bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom comes with towels too!
Review 7:Was great value for money, ten minute walk to hanging houses and old city, and staff were very friendly. Can't complain at all. Single for for a single traveller, would recommend.
Review 8:A bit cool in winter, but we requested and were given extra blankets. Hard to find any place nearby open for dinner in this town of 1,000 bakeries.
Review 9:Located in the new town, requiring a long hike to the hanging houses. Convenient if traveling by car, with 8 Euro parking next door. Room was quiet, staff were competent, hotel more of less "modern." The best Cookie Town in Spain
Review 10:Room was a bit small if you are traveling with lots of luggage. WiFi was spotty and can be best accessed at the ground floor.
Review 11:Proximity to the bus station and the urban areas. Value for money. Tourist attractions can be easily reached by local bus.
Review 12:Close to the train station. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Nice staff. An excellent value.
Review 13:Clean rooms, free parking places not so far (200-300m), a few nice restaurants less than in 5 minutes by foot

Review 29:A little 'noisy' on the corridors at night!

Review 33:Whoever designed the rooms, certainly has a taste. Very helpful staff.
Review 34:The hotel is located on Ramón y Cajal in the center of the new town. I was able to reach the cathedral area of the old town, the main tourist destination in maybe 20 minutes. The second half of the walk is a pretty steep uphill climb via steps and inclined roads. I highly recommend the 5€ walking tour of old Cuenca. I did the dusk one as it was getting dark and all the building illuminations were coming on. The hotel room was basic, but clean and functional. Good powerful shower, plenty of hot water. The room was interior with no noise whatsoever. Lighting was on the dim side, but the strong working wifi made up for it. Room cost was 25€. Parking is iffy. I snagged a spot on the street directly behind the hotel. It looks like everything is "zona azul" with the ticket from the street machines costing €0.80 per hour, maximum 2 hours permitted. Since I arrived late, the fee lasted until 11:00 the next morning. I decided to move in the morning and park in a garage near the old town before I did my touring. Good thing I did, as it took me 3 hours and I would have been ticketed. Garage fee is about €0.03 a minute (€5.75 for the 3 hours I was there).
Review 35:For the price paid,,,no complains,,,
Review 36:Right in the middle of Cuenca, a beautiful city, but with private parking for our rental car. Clean!! Continental breakfast for $3.25
Review 37:No air conditioning. Not a problem in May but would be in the middle of summer.
Review 38:This is a good value for money budget hotel. It is very close to the main shopping centre, the 'old' RENFE railway station, various restaurants and the coach station. It is also not too far from the many historical attractions. The staff were lovely. One kindly spent over an hour helping my son with his Spanish!
Review 39:The reception could not speak English.
Review 40:The hotel was not far from an Old Town. The hotel had charged private car parking nearby. The rooms and private bathrooms were clean and comfort.
Review 41:No
Review 42:Those staffes are very kind. It just costs 10 minutes walking from the station of autobus and renfe to hostal cortes. I like the decoration of the room. I feel comfortable and happy.
Review 43:It is a bit basic but perfectly adequate for your needs
Review 44:I liked the staff friendliness and the breakfast which does not seem to be mentioned anywhere. Also the location in the town centre, and the parking facility which is needed.

Review 46:Location and with parking, helfull man at desk , clean and a fresh smellthrough out, bedroom had everything we required and bed was comfy..thebreakfast was nice with coffee and toast at 2,50 euro.very good pricefor the room.
Review 47:There was no AC, only a fan, however, nights are chilly enough to make a sleep still comfortable.
Review 48:Simple, clean, quite spacious, good price and location close to the Cuenca train station (of slow trains)
Review 49:some receptionists don't know english
Review 50:this hotel is in some minutes from autobus station and it is great. The most famous sightseeings of this town are in ten minutes of walking. Very clean, cozy hotel.
Review 51:Staff doesn't speak English, and there is no refrigerator in the room.
Review 52:The underground parking is good for those, who travel by car. The location is convenient.
Review 53:Everything was fine.
Review 54:The receptionist was very friendly and hospitable ... the rooms were clean and comfortable .... ours did not have a fan which some others did .... they do need fans!
Review 55:Ideally situated with secure parking right next door. For value for money it was perfect for those on a budget. No frills but clean and comfortable. Cuenca is a fabulous place. Get a bus to the top of the old town or sneak in the car park lift at the bottom and ride up for free. Do not miss out on going to the top. Loads of cafes and little shops with much to see. Reach the old town by turning right out of the hostal front door and then walk for 15 minutes.
Review 56:The location was great -- just minutes by foot from the bus and train stations and easy to find --, the staff was charming, and the room was quiet and clean.
Review 57:Excellent value for money. Quircky seventies interior. Basic but perfect: good bed, good shower, clean. Couldn't have wished for more for this price.
Review 58:The wifi didn´t work all the time, due to contention rates it seemed. Worked well sometimes and not others, but this was a minor problem.
