Reviews for Les Arcades
Review 1:Owner not very welcoming and lack of staff, particularly upon arrival. Basic continental breakfast was quite expensive at 11 euros p.p. per day. No tea or coffee facilities in the room.
Review 2:Comfortable bed and use of a small outdoor pool
Review 3:The only thing that wasn't working too well was the air con, as the remote control didn't operate and the unit might have been low on gas as it was feeble in getting the room cooled. We didn't take breakfast as we thought the rate of €11 each - extra for omelette etc, was a little over priced. We instead had breakfast at a cafe in the square for half the cost.
Review 4:This is a nice hotel, located in a quiet street within the walled town. It is decorated with window boxes, and the building itself is quite ancient. We selected Les Arcades as it offered a room for three people, and was in the centre of Aigues-Mortes. Our room had a street view, although due to the presence of the Camargue Mosquitos we didn't open it often. The room was nicely decorated in a modern style, and was light and airy. There was a bath/ shower, separate WC and the bedroom was quite spacious. While there's no coffee making facility, there is a coffee maker (€1 per cup) and kettle in the room leading to the pool. The terrace and pool are in sun until about 5pm. There was always plenty of towels, and the room was tidied each day. The owner has no English, so conversations were in my broken French, but we got by. Cars are not allowed within the walled town unless you have a residents pass. However you can drive to the hotel to drop your bags. There is space in front to park for a while. The owner will then give you a car park pass (plastic card) to park in one of three of the town's numbered car parks for free. We found car park 3 was the best, although you do need to wait on occasion for a space to come free. The location is perfect, and in 5 minutes you can be in the central square Place Saint Louis, and only 5 minutes to the car park also. In terms of features to improve the experience, a small fridge would be good. On our first trip to Aigues Mortes we stayed at a guesthouse, Hermitage Saint Antione, small rooms but with a fridge for water, wine etc., was a really good addition.
Review 5:Everything. Great position, wonderful staff, great room, clean. Hotel with a very strong atmosphere, located in the centre of an amazing town. Strongly recommended to everybody!
Review 6:Bathroom needs up-dating. No walk-in shower and shower attachment in the bath wasn't attached to the wall. Few toiletries, no shower caps etc Breakfast is too expensive. Hotel is well located for having breakfast in one of the many bars in the town.
Review 7:Excellent location. Friendly and helpful reception staff Guests are provided with a residents' free parking card to use in the car parks outside the walls so you are free to come and go. Comfortable room with good air conditioning. Lovely small swimming pool and sun terrace on the roof.
Review 8:When we stayed the hotel appeared to be only half open with no staff visible unless called upon via the intercom. Restaurant was also closed.
Review 9:Beautifully restored hotel in walled town. The bedrooms are a delight - especially for bird lovers like us. Rooms are large and cool. Pool terrace shaded with potted plants. Hot water & Coffee available throughout the day.
Review 10:There was just a feeling that there was noone around.
Review 11:Lovely old building.Rooms spacious and good air conditioning. Small pool and patio ideal for relaxing.
Review 12:The shower needed repairing
Review 13:The proprietess was fantastic, our young toddler was treated fantastically and the breakfast was top notch. Lovely rooms and great location.
Review 14:Enormous room but the toilet was so small you had to stand alongside the toilet to be able to get the door open to be able to get in or out. Toilet roll was behind the toilet. Beautiful old room but with a hideous faux wood floor For the price-tea/coffee facilities would have been nice. Only one key. Very small pool which was closed
Review 15:Location. Very comfortable bed. Air conditioning that worked
Review 16:Well...let me think... hmmm. Nothing?
Review 17:We had that huge room with 3 beds but were only a couple. The room was relly cool, more like a hall. There was even a connection door for another room if needed. The location couldn't be better, free parking and very quiet.
Review 18:More like bed and breakfast than a hotel, with few public areas except a very small rooftop pool. No proper shower, only a spray attachment in the bath. Room overlooked street and was awoken by cars in the night. Overpriced given the limited facilities.
Review 19:Central location in a pleasant street. Old stone-built building with character.
Review 20:Breakfast at 11 euros - there are plenty of good cafes on the hotel's doorstep that offer a good breakfast "formule" for far less. Our room, comfortable but basic, was in need of some up-dating and the bathroom really did need attention - the fixture for the shower over the bath was broken so you could only shower kneeling down (!) and the shower screen was at the wrong end of the bath so the water went all over the floor. Just be aware there is no lift though there is only one floor.
Review 21:Perfectly located for a stay in Aigues-Mortes. Interesting old building. Parking is free but there is not an exclusive guest car park at the hotel. Guests park in one of the public car parks outside the city walls and are then given a swipe card by the hotel to pay each time they park for the duration of their stay. Given this is a walled, predominantly pedestrianised city this system works well and is worth quite a lot as parking is charged 24 hours a day. If you are arriving by car, if it is busy and you don't have much luggage it is worth parking as soon as you find a car park with a space and then walking to the hotel to check in. The city is quite small and it won't be far to walk. There is only one space reserved outside the hotel for drop off / pick up so you may find it difficult to stop outside if you drive up to the hotel (and then will get caught up in the narrow, one way system of the town!) Nice little swimming pool on the first floor terrace if you have time to use it. Very comfortable bed, lovely bed linen and air conditioning that works a dream! Easy to use wi-fi with no password that has to be entered each time you log on. Very pleasant staff.
Review 22:Small but beautiful room
Review 23:No restaurants or bar!

Review 27:Beautiful rooms. We felt like we were in a palace. Comfortable beds
Review 28:it was very expensive
Review 29:Lovely old building, lovely big suits in a great location
Review 30:Breakfast not extensive. Parking of car outside the town on public parking place.
Review 31:Free parking on public parking place. Beautiful and comfortable hotel.
Review 32:Wonderful building, decorated with a lot of taste and antique furniture. The lady of the house is a bit shy, but really very friendly. She proposed another room to put the whole family together in adjacent rooms and bought a map to help us organize a bike trip. Breakfast can be expensive, but she spontaneously offered us a huge discount for the children. This is really a high quality hotel at a reasonable price.
Review 33:Breakfast overpriced at 10 euros for a limited selection of products
Review 34:Great hotel, old building fully renovated. Staff upgraded our 3 room when noticed that we were with kids - so we had the luck to stay in the "Chambre Avocette", a beautiful (and large) room, with old-style furniture, paintings and pleasant decorations
Review 35:Price of breakfast . Extortionate !
Review 36:Lovely hotel . Full of charm and character. We were very lucky to be unintentionally appointed the room La Huppe for our stay . A very pretty cottagy room . Ambient decor and abundance of greenery around the window . Very nice and Aigues Mortes is superb .
Review 37:Breakfast not included in price and at 10 euros fairly limited choice but of a good quality Internet connection hit and miss
