Reviews for Condesa de Chinchón

Review 1:The staff welcome was fantastic and the room was quiet.we needed extra pillows which were found without delay. The garage is easily accest from the rooms and in all the stay was very enjoyable.

Review 2:Irritating tinkle of bells during the night, every hour!

Review 3:Nicely decorated - looked recently refurbished - clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. Ideally located near the plaza.

Review 4:I have never stayed in a hotel that had such paper thin walls, you could hear everything (!) that was going on in the room next door, and even a few rooms down the corridor. It spoiled what could have been a perfect hotel.

Review 5:Very clean, comfortable hotel, beds good, shower wonderful. Breakfast fresh but limited.

Review 6:Staff Who Booked Us In Great. Staff Who booked Us Out Not Friendly.Very Negative . This Was Our 3rd Stay From Oz.Could Have Received A Better Farewell. We Do Come A Long Way To Stay. One Bed Ok But Other mattress needs Replacing As On A Lean.Had To Swap Sides With My Wife. Wife Could Not Get An Iron Or board As We Have Previously Done . Noisy Neighbours Woke Early.Hotel Not Full So Why Place All In Together.

Review 7:Close To Main Plaza. Good Parking Facility. Given room With Balcony. Nice Hotel.

Review 8:common complain,, the shower head was loose and you had to hold it to have a shower

Review 9:we were traveling from Bilbao to Alicanti area and this was a half way stop. I couldnt have picked better, the hotel was great, service excellent, and Chinchon was small and atmospheric with its bullring and terraced restaurants..

Review 10:Only drawback was that the bar was not open during the day/evening but there was a bar/restaurant across the street.

Review 11:Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent room with WiFI, fridge, safe, Jacuzzi bath etc. Very good breakfast. Situated close to Plaza. Given a 10% discount voucher for sister restaurant in the plaza where we had the most delicious lamb at a reasonable price.

Review 12:Only minor problem: shower head not secure.

Review 13:Very clean hotel. Parking free, covered and secure. Room at back of hotel overlooking splendid terrace was very peaceful. Beautifully maintained.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Whats not to like? We love this place, much more than an overnight stop. A stay here is a visit to an historic town with a great atmosphere. The garage is the safest we have ever experienced in Spain and the famous Plaza Mejor is yards away.

Review 16:Given room opposite a restaurant, and beside a cobble street - very little sleep!

Review 17:Close to centre for restaurants . Have requested a quieter room for our return in Sept.

Review 18:Location very central, style - traditional grand. Balcony with cane chairs, beautiful courtyard garden. Pleasant staff speak English. Locals friendly and make effort to communicate.

Review 19:NADA

Review 20:The location, the decor etc. this time they gave us a discount for the restaurant owned by the same family. Do go there and have the baby lamb roast, it's to die for.

Review 21:Heating very noisy - not possible to regulate accurately. Wifi just didn't connect at all.

Review 22:Lovely small hotel, in a picturesque, ancient village, very close to A4 and A3 autovias and ideal for overnight stopover. Hotel well kept with very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 23:Staff OK but could have been more helpful. Issue with the safe they were not keen to fix. Hotel bar closed early so went to a bar over the road!

Review 24:Situated just off the main square with easy access to a good selection of bars and restaurants. Secure parking good.

Review 25:three minutes walk from main square/bullring which is unusual and attractive key feature of the town. Plenty of choice of restaurants/bars, typical Spanish feel. Large room and small balcony over street. Traditionally furnished, with quality and atmosphere.

Review 26:The breakfast has gone downhill from our last visit. No hot food, no Orange machine, extra charged for fresh orange. Will go out for breakfast in future if no improvement. Small point but it was always so good.

Review 27:The safe and secure car parking. The reception staff position from main square and restaurants

Review 28:No restaurant! Street facing rooms suffered traffic noise. Bins emptied early morning.

Review 29:Spa baths. Lovely rooms. Loved Chinchon. Everyone lovely and helpful. Very nice decor

Review 30:We have stayed many times in Chinchon but always at the Parador, on this occasion we decided to have a change and we were not disappointed the hotel is in an ideal location in the town with secure parking. We will certainly return. Tim James

Review 31:The breakfast was not as good as on previous visits: coffee was from a machine instead of being freshly made and there was no butter, only horrible margarine. On Booking.com the hotel appeared to be almost full, but in fact it was quite quiet.

Review 32:Secure underground parking with direct access to the hotel. Pleasant staff at reception.

Review 33:There was nothing not to like.

Review 34:The location of the hotel is excellent, just a short walk to the beautiful Plaza Mayor with it's many restaurants and bars. The hotel is well appointed, clean with super bathroom facilities and a very good breakfast. Parking was secure with a lift directly into the hotel. Very good value for money will definitely stay again.

Review 35:nothing

Review 36:Location great. Hotel beautiful - gardens, balconies, very well appointed bedrooms & bathrooms. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. Convenient parking below hotel.

Review 37:Dark corridors with automatic lighting. Very tricky when walking towards steps. Also the light swent off before we got the key in the door!!! Also the coffee for breakfast was appalling. Sureñy the hovering, napkin folding water could have been trusted to make decent coffee.

Review 38:Being only a short walk feom the Plaza Mayor. The room was lovely with a view over the garden. It was spotlessly clean with dated but smart furnishings.

Review 39:Wi fi didn't work for the first night but was fixed and good the second night.

Review 40:We had a lovely room with a balcony perfect for the evening sun. Restaurants were very near. Bus to Madrid took an hour.

Review 41:Stayed previously had the breakfast which was poor so didn't bother this time.

Review 42:Great location. Very secure underground parking

Review 43:excellent staff.

Review 44:Good location

Review 45:Not a good place for disabled visitors, the streets are lovely but cobbled no good for a wheelchair,

Review 46:A lovely old hotel, secure parking

Review 47:Cluttered rooms

Review 48:Very well located with a safe inexpensive car park

Review 49:Central location in lovely small old town, large comfortable room overlooking pretty patio garden, generous ensuite. Good value

Review 61:The hotel & pueblo beautiful. Staff very friendly & helpful. I'm disabled & the room I got was well adapted.

Review 62:Lovely hotel, good secure parking, beautiful town and surroundings, lots of places to eat around the Plaza Mayor

Review 63:The tradutionally quaint hotel, and pretty town.

Review 64:peat clients

Review 65:The balcony with the view over the roof tops is a must

Review 66:Recommended restaurant was awful

Review 67:Garage facility

Review 68:Only complaint was double bedded rooms are front facing and we had an interrupted night's sleep due to the bar opposite and bin men.

Review 69:Street parking, breakfast service not very good

Review 70:Easy to find and rooms very clean and tidy with plenty of space to move around

Review 71:we have used this hotel three to four times a year for the last nine years. So that speaks for itself always good

Review 72:It is a shame that the receptionist was rude, even a welcoming smile would have been nice.

Review 73:A very good place to stay in Chinchon.

Review 74:Front rooms are noisy from 5am onwards so ask for a room at the back.

Review 75:Good location and benefits from good off-road parking.

Review 76:The noise of traffic on the cobbled road at night.

Review 77:Lovely old building in a good location with off-street parking.

Review 78:Free parking

Review 79:Everything

Review 80:Easy to find. Secure parking. Picturesque town. Convenient stop of on drive down from Santander.

Review 81:coffee machine broken at breakfast, took a while to get some coffee. Having to pay for parking in he hotel.

Review 82:Clean comfortable hotel.

Review 83:Great location, nice size room, reasonable breakfast at a reasonable price. We will be back !!

Review 84:Excellent location and extremely good value accommodation

Review 85:Situation, room, breakfast

Review 86:The best hotel we have stayed at in a long time

Review 87:Love the grounds looking age but totally new, built in 2002 and the location. Excellent staff and breakfast and bed was very comfortable.

Review 88:Very friendly staff and very central location - 60 seconds from the Plaza Mayor.

Review 89:Internet was patchy.

Review 90:Excellent Decor and ambience. Very attentive staff.good choice for Breakfast. Good location to the centre. Also not to far from the main Motorway.

Review 91:Great location with the option of paid secure parking, at a very reasonable rate. Off street parking was also available. A lovely little town to break the journey.

Review 92:Virtually none existent wifi.

Review 93:Good comfortable hotel with good sized roomsPretty terrace and pleasant lounges. We used this hotel as a stop over on the way south. This small town is a brilliant place to stay the night. Try it.

Review 94:This is a very good hotel in an excellent location in Chinchon. We have stayed there four times and will be going back. Chinchon makes an excellent stop over point if you are travelling beyond Madrid.

Review 95:No bar service, presumably as it is early in the season. Buffet breakfast was average.

Review 96:Room overlooked a courtyard, flowers and bird-song abounded, wonderful to wake to the blackbirds singing. No traffic noise. Parked outside the hotel in front of the police station so quite safe!. 5 mins walk from the Plaza made it an ideal position.

Review 97:Couldn't get a glass of wine from the bar at 18.30hrs. Only one member of staff on duty and she was too busy to do it. The room on the front of the building. Noisy cars on cobbled streets from very early and certainly no double glazing for a peaceful sleep.

Review 98:Situation close to the Plaza Mayor with lots of nice retaurants. The pretty garden terrace at the back of the property. The secure underground parking for our loaded vehicle.

Review 99:The Wi-Fi works well in the reception area but not in our bedrooms. The corridors have sensor lights; but they do not lit up quickly, and so, one is partly in the dark. The bathroom has only one hook on the wall. It would be nice if there were another one or two hooks as there are normally two occupants and there is enough wall space. Likewise, the bathroom waste bin is so small; one has to bend to open it.

Review 100:We loved the splendid flow of light, airiness, spaciousness and tranquility of our first floor bedrooms and bathrooms that looked out to the inner green courtyard; the cozy soft atmosphere and decoration all around that made us feel at home from the moment we stepped into the hotel; the gentle attention and helpfulness of the staff; the generous breakfast; and the hotel's armslength proximity to the plaza.

Review 101:there was nothing to dislike.

Review 102:Close to the main square .The room was large and very clean and comfortable. Lovely big bathroom. Helpful and friendly staff.Good breakfast. Very good secure parking.

Review 103:Not a lot,

Review 104:We often stay here on our way either from Nerja to Santander. We used to stay at the Parador but this hotel is much less expensive and still in the old town. Car Parking very good and secure.

Review 105:Well resourced tradtional style hotel with spacious rooms and ours had a balcony which was most pleasant to use and look over onto the courtyard below. Hotel also has a restaurant in the middle of the Plaza Mayor where we ate some fabulous food. Delightful small town with real character and plenty of bars in the centre.

Review 106:breakfast not good value for money, wifi didn't work in our room.

Review 107:Comfortable room, underground car parking,VERY central location only 200m from main square of such a beautiful town.Lovely garden and patio, could have done with a fan!!

Review 108:Unfortunately only stayed one night as major problem in hotel with sewage/drainage smell. Only one other guest was staying and hotel said it was a problem throughout Chinchon. Otherwise hotel was lucky to be rated as even two star. No comparison with hotel in Toledo which was excellent.

Review 109:Not a lot. However Chinchon itself was worth an overnight stop but no longer.

Review 110:Very hard to get to,narrow winding lanes, very medieval one way streets, poor information on how to get there, no useful maps in the hotel, throwyour sat nav away, reception uninformed/unhelpful

Review 111:Used this hotel many times and is a nice quiet place to stay in a veryinteresting historical town, good/ secure car parking pretty garden, very good help yourself breakfast. Very good town restaurants/ bars

Review 112:We could find no faults.

Review 113:The hotel waw full of charm and the staff were very kind and helpful. We dined at the recommended restaurant in the village which was excellent. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 114:Lovely hotel. Very comfortable and well furnished. Countryside setting yet not far from Madrid. Historical town. Secure parking. Excellent value for money

Review 115:We were ignored by the waitress in the breakfast room. She asked other guests if they would like a hot drink but did not ask us. There was a coffee machine on the buffet table but the coffee was awful. She was making fresh coffee at the bar for the others. I had to ask the receptionist if we could have freshly made coffee. There was a complicated orange juice machine that was obviously not for the guests to operate but waitress did not offer to make us orange juice but made it for others.

Review 116:The hotel is situated in central Chinchon close to the plaza. The hotel has an agreement with a restaurant in the plaza for evening meals. We arrived in mid January and the room was very cold but soon heated up when we played around with the dials! Spacious bathroom and a good sized room.

Review 117:Absolutely no problem. I have seen a few negative remarks from othertravellers - honestly they exagerate! For this price this hotel is morethan excellent value.

Review 118:Very good hotel in a lovely small town. Not far from the North-Southhighway, it is and ideal place for a break. Easy to find, you can parkthe car in the street near the hotel and walk (100 m) to the fantasticPlaza Mayor for a good dinner. The breakfast is great, though the bakery(bread/croissants) could be better. For most of the year you canalso enjoy the terrace!

Review 119:the room, the decor, the situation, the patio, the atmosphere, the calm, the breakfast, the staff
