Reviews for Grand Nile Tower
Review 1:The hotel furnisher is old ,carpet in the room was not clean ,but mirrors were beautiful , the shower was old style and towels sucks exept for the shower towels that Ehap brought us for shower was good . Ehap was avery nice and cooperative guy.
Review 2:The view of the nile and Cairo was amazing from my room balkony .
Review 3:Poor staff. No heating option in the room. Took ages to the luggages upstairs. You have to call the receptionist afew times for each service request
Review 4:Only location is good about this place. Breathtaking view from the terrace
Review 5:- Unprofessional Staff. It looks like they don't treat Egyptians very well in this hotel !! Don't recommend this hotel for Egyptians at all. - Very bad internet connections. No one to help even if you complain. You have to reach out to several people before they fix it for you. I didn't go through that and decided to purchase my own mobile internet connection. Don't accept to go with any Taxi driver if he is not willing to use the taxi meter. The hotel staff are suggesting drivers to you that are not willing to use their taxi meters. They shouldn't help these guys to have business if they don't want to follow the rules.
Review 6:- Location: few minutes walking distance from Tahrir Square. and you will enjoy the Nile view and if you lucky you will see the Pyramids too. - Breakfast: good variety. not bad. - Had a free Honeymoon Cake in my room. Thanks
Review 7:staff is very bad treating egyptions the front office employee at the check-in insist to hold 500$ although i made the booking throught booking.com also she refused to gave me stamped invoice i had to call for the deputy manger to insure me that i can have the invoice

Review 11:poor breakfast not match with 5 stars hotel small room old furniture very expensive parking with very bad system
Review 12:Location only and view Nice staff but without value
Review 13:The worst thing that Booking.com didn't add the Tax to the total price of my staying so the total Price on the website was not similar to what i have paid!!! The staff is very friendly but not professional. The breakfast was not good.
Review 14:The Location
Review 15:Booking flexibility, the general maintenance on furniture (some are broken, the cover of the chairs outside most of them dirty, the chairs at the balcony was dirty The hotel needs repainting from outside Some windows at reception area were broken from the side. these should not be with5stars luxury hotel
Review 16:Location, view
Review 17:The cost when I booked was not honoured and as I arrived at 10pm, I was not allowed to cancel the booking without paying for the night. The cost was almost 3 times more than I had booked.
Review 18:Not alot. Hotel was dated, and good to with a real spruce up! Not worth the money.
Review 19:a did not like the furniture ; it seem as old not modern especially the tv the prices is high they arenot commitment with the amounts as per in booking which they have increase the amount per night and they informed that the price at booking for Egypt nationality
Review 20:i like the location and view the hotel is quit but there are not more activates
Review 21:This is my 4th stay at this hotel. this time the front desk were not friendly at all. it took them 2 hours to accomodate me in a proper room. My booking was for a deluxe room. The food at the excuitive launch was poor. The bathroom turns into a swimming pool when you have your shower. The progammed keys for elevator and room do not work and they had to change it 4 times in a period of 4 days. programming those keys is not working out.
Review 22:The hotel location . The evening at le Marquise boat. the resturants and coffeeshop and their location. the staff at the excuitive launch. breakfast was fairly good.
Review 23:Every think except the staff I didn't like It's very old Expensive comparing the rest of hotels in the same area this money rate without even break fast is not acceptable Room facilities are very poor
Review 24:Staff
Review 25:Staff is bad , i took one hour to checkin and half an hour for checkout The front desk is not answering all the time
Review 26:Location is stunning , the view of the nile river is marvelous Food is perfect and the property is more than perfect
Review 27:The non-smoker room smelt strongly smoky. The scent of cigarette smoke was in all textile. After spending six nights there, my whole clothing also adopted that smell. It wasn't indicated beforehand that no alcohol is served in this hotel. This should be made much more obvious.
Review 28:The view on the Nile, the breakfast, free internet and the gym-spa facilities.
Review 29:You must wait 1 hour in the reception to get your room, the reception too much crowd, Also you must pay 50 $ as a deposit for the room, the toilet was not working well, Outside taxi near hotel gate is too much expensive becouse they are from hotel side, So you must walk outside to get cheaper taxi.
Review 30:Hotel facilities: we tried to have a hot drink by the nile, but we found the coffee shop is only indoor at the reception. Pool: didn't have the time to go and see it Check out: was only delayed due to the valley ... we were waiting for him to bring the card. But the staff were polite At last it's not the luxurious 5 stars hotel as you would expect, but it's of course recommended, if u need a nice, clean place and also a good price to stay.
Review 31:check in: didn't take that long, and there were 2 at the check in desks and the manger is standing supervising beside them. Rooms: were clean, spacious and had a very good nile view. also high floors are away from the traffic noise. breakfast: was good only (because of the small restaurant) but the bakery was very very good The rotating restaurant: it was working, not as the previous reviews, but i had my kid with me 3 years old. It's semi-formal restaurant and kids are not allowed till 12 years old. So i didn't have the chance to try it.
Review 32:cleaning of the (LOBBY) and other general area in the hotel, rail should be always cleans .. smoking should stopped in the closed and AC area waiting time to check out
Review 33:the location and staff
Review 34:Room service with poor as the assistant manager asked to send a tart chocolate and they didn't send it till we called them asking about the tart. Also they called us at 12.15am as we should have a fruit basket and they forget to send it notig that we booked for one night only.
Review 35:Hotel bathrooms were not so clean as expected The bar by the pool was closed
Review 36:Friendly and co-operative staff complimentary cake for our wedding anniversary wide varieties for breakfast The view was really amazing, in our room and the hotel lobby
Review 37:they dont have enough staff at the reception, only one person to serve a lot of people i dont believe such a hotel cant hire enough staff !!!!!
Review 38:the location was more than amazing, the room ,the view ,the food all was perfect
Review 39:- Check in and check out staff, they are very very slow and don't want to work. - Room is not clean and very old. - If you asked for anything staff want to sell it for you in a beggar way and they intend to make something missing in order to make you call them and they come with the solution and start asking you for money ( not by saying ) - Restaurants there are significantly expensive ( Comparing to nearby hotels, I had my dinner in nearby Intercontinental )
Review 40:Location swimming pool area
Review 41:The bath was too high and wide with a fixed shower screen. It made it very difficult for me, as an older person, to safely to get and out. It would be better to have just showers.
Review 42:The friendly courteous staff
Review 43:stayed years ago when it was wonderful EVERYTHING changed now. EVERYONE asks for money (tips) for doing absolutely nothing. Staff are rude and very annoying. the hotel is very very old and NOT well kept is a ghost hotel. AVOID at all cost.
Review 44:absolutely NOTHING
Review 45:wifi. Very slow check in and check out. Number of receptionists is very limited coated to the hotel capacity. No life guard at the pool.
Review 46:Location. River view. Swimming pool. Restaurants in front of Nile river.
Review 47:The bed sheets were not clean and there was signs of old blood on them. It took over an hour to check-in, although there were only 5 other guests, and 35 mins to check-out. There were no bidets and it was expected since it's almost taken for granted in Egypt. The reception staff were really slow, poor, were not even smiling to the guests. The workers didn't do there job right and cared only about receiving tips.
Review 48:The location is amazing.
Review 49:Very proud to have such a property alchol free in Cairo but very disappointed with the level of service and quality this place have reached. I stayed here years ago when it was under the Hyatt management and it was a completely different experience.
Review 50:NOTHING
Review 51:Reception never answers your calls and breakfast is over occupied (no enough seats so you have to expect a 15 to 20 minutes waiting time)
Review 52:Great staff , great location
Review 53:Reception staff have poor attention , and poor attitude WiFi only available after paying in advance for your room, no access once checking out, though told I will have 7 days free access. Old fashion TV with limited Channels Carpet and chairs are old with dirty stains Level of cleaning is substandard Breakfast options are limited Overpriced
Review 54:Location on the Nile
Review 55:The hotel location
Review 56:Service if too bad, hotel staff very poor, they have no idea how to serve the guest, we have asked to upgrade the room with BF but we have been advicesed to pay the BF sparsely, we have ordered to black teas by the pool it took 45 to arrive same for the towels I had to go myself to get it, if you ask me that you guys will consider my feedback I will say definitely no!!!!
Review 57:Old carpet, smelling Plumbing issues, dirty water draining inside the bathtub, single glass old windows, all rooms are smoking, flies all around in the breakfast area, grilled chicken arrived cold into the room, very low class, dirty in general
Review 58:Location and views
Review 59:Check in : unprofessional and unorganised Pool: only 10 umbrella out of which 4. Are broken, only twenty seats for a 750 rooms hotel, no towels they keep telling us to take the room bath towels as they don't have, no maintenance to the pool facilities, no control to what people do not wear going in the pool Rooms : not renovated nor maintained since the change of hotel brand, dirty carpets, broken furniture, stained torn sheets covers, TV 14 inch broken that colours are black and white Hotel overall : is very very poor it's clear that management don't wanna spend a penny on the hotel nor its maintenance it changed from an amazing top class experience hotel to a very very poor hotel that ain't worth the money
Review 60:Location and how the workers are trying to help us enjoy and compensate the deterioration in the hotel facilities
Review 61:I had to wait around 4 hours because my flight was in the early morning and the earliest check in was at 9 in the morning, other than that the service was amazing.
Review 62:The attitude, service, and staff are all great. Always smiling and great humor.
Review 63:stuff are not good , window of the room was very dirty in the 39 th floor , room had insects , sever misalignment between reception and garage for card activation, breakfast was fair not upto five stars buffet , i spent almost one hour and half in check in , swimming pool was fair , parking value for money was not good it is very expensive vs service .
Review 64:Location is perfect
Review 65:Staff is much less than the hotel power. it is a 40 floor hotel with only 3 employees in the reception. check in took 1 hour No Life Guard at the swimming pool although there are un-accompanied children. Consumables are not available. we order juice which came in a big glass but no straws and when we asked they replied sorry it is out of stock. I asked for additional blanket at 12:30 am and it came at 3 am. 2.5h to bring a blanket which resulted that we couldnt sleep that night waiting for it. although we paid 224$ for 1 night in that place they asked for parking fees which was really surprising any hotel in the world if you have a room you have a free parking space. when staff is bringing you somthing they make it as a favor not because you are a guest in a 5 star hotel and for sure the favor is corresponding to a good tips.
Review 66:1. You don't know which restaurant is working and which is off, and the staff don't know. 2. Room service will tell you I'm the one who cleans your room (waiting for tips). 3. No services at the swimming pool area.
Review 67:Perfect Location
Review 68:poor Wifi and poor front disk stuff , very unhelpfull and arrogant , the wifi was turned off the minute we checked out no access to the wifi ,it is a good hotel but need lots of improvement
Review 69:Location is perfect in the city center , rooms are very nice over looking the Nile river ,
Review 70:Reception staff are asking you to leave money "cash or credit card only" not VISA without any prior notice or any agreed policy to mention that.. They are extremely agressive i lost my temper and thought about cancelling the reservation before i do check in.
Review 71:The parking is not free and very expensive. The room service was overpriced. We asked for Suhur in our room, we received 3 pieces of cheese one omelet, a plate of foul and 4 pieces of bread in our room as we had a small baby and we paid EGP 180.
Review 72:Everything, the location, the rooms it was really nice and the bed was sooo comfy.
Review 73:Too short stay at the hotel.
Review 74:Polite and on the ball. No problem if you want or need any thing, just ask the staff. Early check in or late check out. Always no problem.
Review 75:most of the hotel is abandoned, the rotating restaurant is closed, the trace is also closed, you could see a massive building which is a section of the hotel abandoned and the whole sense of the hotel is of past glory not present.
Review 76:it is located at a prime location with rooms having magnificent scenery the hotel itself is really huge and has enough space to have anything you could imagine,As for the food, i tried the Nubian restaurant which is a real treat its only drawback is that it is expensive. Bottom line if you are looking for scenery, great view of the Nile and maybe some water sports - seen it but do not know how to book it- then go for this hotel, otherwise i would recommend searching for a better one.
Review 77:Front office staff is very slow and careless. C/in takes 15 mins. C/out takes even longer. Hotel is empty.
Review 78:Location is good. Rooms are fine. Beds are comfortable.
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and helpful! five star service! the balcony view of the Nile from the room is breathtaking! Luxurious Hotel. Fab Breakfast! Will definitely come back!
Review 80:Friendly atmosphère, high confort and cleaniness, wonderful staff , high value for the money and AN UNFORGETABLE VIEW IN THE NILE RIVER makes this stay a must.
Review 81:The service and quality of the spa were extremely poor.Check in was understaffed, the groundfloor needs updating and many restaurants were closed. The hotel really lacks ambiance.
Review 82:The location of this hotel is superb. The views of the Nile outstanding and in a very safe setting for a solo traveller. The bedroom and bathroom were also luxurious with superb nile views.Breakfast and the staff were amazing.
Review 83:I reserved a room including breakfast, they argued for almost an hour that I should pay for my breakfast until I connected and proved them wrong from the email sent by booking,, plus that i requested a room with a queen bed, and they offered me a room with twin bed! Claiming that they have no rooms left!
Review 84:Staff is very unfriendly The hotel receptionist insisted that I have to show him a marriage certificate for me and my girl friend although we both are not Egyptians. And when I told him that we both are not locals he shouted at me in arrogant way and said even if you were from Israel you must be married to her otherwise you both book different rooms!!! Had to want around 2 hours on the reception so I can check in my room due to resviervation problem At the end I left the hotel very angry and it was 10 o'clock in the evening searching at night for another hotel
Review 85:Location
Review 86:cheap … for 3 days I didnt have shampoo on the path top, and when i asked the afternoon "house keeper" .. he said "the monrning guy didnt put any, it is not my fault !! Now your faualt or his ,,, ! I dont care.. why i have to use my "sink saup" for my shower ? then he gave me one ,,,,!
Review 87:the nile view soecially at night.
Review 88:The hotel needs full renovation & staff needs more training to be up to the expectation also required more attention for the hotel outlets which is almost very poor.
Review 89:Hotel location is the only remaining thing which make you say that you have stayed in 5 stars hotel & the creation area which still maintaining an acceptable standard.
Review 90:I made booking for my family and followed with the hotel. as the arrival was very pleasant by the person at hotel reception, the check out was a disaster. 1) it took over 45 min. 2) even total amount of stay was paid in advance at arrival, all food n beverages were paid at time in cash, but there was still an amount pended and was not clarified for what? . the same thing was again required from the driver as arrived at airport. I will only assume that it is miss link at the hotel . - business center in order to print boarding passes took over 30 min. all over it was very annoying stay and will never stay at this property again. it was bad experience.
Review 91:the reception at arrival, comfort of beds.
Review 92:I got a room at the 28th floor with an amazing Nile view towards the cairo tower, everything about the hotel was perfect the staff, the room, breakfast and cleanness. despite being a bit expensive compared to the 5 star hotels near the pyramids, but much more professional and royal place to spend a weekend in cairo and the best value deal you can get compared to 5 star hotels downtown
Review 93:The first room we used had the air conditioner broken. But they changed our room in about 15 minutes. Parking wasn't free although it was stated on the web site that it is free for guests
Review 94:Friendly staff Quick response Good breakfast and food in general
Review 95:With new owners decision not to allow alcoholic drinks to be served this is not a 5 star hotel ....it was not good .. The galleria mall was basically closed due to lack of foot fall
Review 96:Heated swimming pool
Review 97:It was Egyptian Easter .. High season .. It took an hour waiting to check in the room .. Room was not available until 3:30pm .. & they took money in advance (during check in) & I was chocked they took extra 500 egp or 50 $ as an insurance during check in.. They retuned them during check out but I did not like that.. Last thing .. we met some friends.. We knew that other booking direct from the hotel had the privilege to free car park for every room.. But with our booking.com we had to pay extra 75 egp per car/day Otherwise every thing was OK or much better Thank u booking.com
Review 98:location & view is beyond explanation.. Take rooms in higher floor starting 25 (hotel is 40 floor) & better to take the view towards Cairo Tower .. If u book club rooms, that gives the privilege to use lounge (floor 30) to have hot & cold drinks all day free Don't forget they have the rotating highest restaurant in the Middle East from 7-11pm seeing the most beautiful seen in the world on the islands of Nile .. Life is a Trip .. Enjoy
Review 99:Reception and reservation desk said some silly stupid comments in Arabic, the level of the building Cleanliness is unacceptable, the service in general is very poor, No alcohols
Review 100:Good Location, nice View
Review 101:Rooms are not clean.....breakfast is very bad and the quality of the food is not up to the standard Restaurant floor and tables are dusty :( I don't recommend it to anyone
Review 102:Location only
Review 103:HIgh parking fees, reception staff is very unprofessional, long check in, breakfast area is very small, not much varieties but quality of food is good.
Review 104:View is amazing, spa and gym are luxurious and well equipped. House keeping staff are very friendly and professional.
Review 105:The receptionist are not helpful Flies in the breakfast bufet Poor staff hygine in restaurant Bathtub obstructed
Review 106:The view of the nile Luxry of decoration
Review 107:The deserts in the ground floor terrace were really not good. You can not see the view from your bed.
Review 108:Excellent view, outstanding property and very good food.
Review 109:the website did fool by showing pics of the hotel , but when i went there the room was differnet from what i was in the website and they made to pay more to get the room that i saw
Review 110:friendly staff
Review 111:I was supposed to pay 160 US dollars per night for the accommodation. I ended up paying 210 US dollars per night for accommodation. The hotel obliged me to pay cash. One employee at the reception (Ismail) was very rude. Ihpe the service is better.
Review 112:Good Location Some of the staff are good
Review 113:The lobby light is very poor and night programs also very poor so i pfeferred to spend the night out the hotel.
Review 114:The room view is adorable, cleanliness and the quick response for any demand and very nice staff.
Review 115:I have discovered that the website booking I made was not valid, for a reason which was not obvious on website. therefore I ended paying double what I am expecting to pay and also was told that breakfast was not included. Price of breakfast was 25 dollars!!!!!
Review 116:View of the Nile.
Review 117:Business Center is not free , as a matter of fact very expensive to use.Just Imogene the cost of printing white&unlaced paper is 8 bound ,and colored one is 25 bound WoW not reasonable at all.It should be free as on all other hotels around the world.
Review 118:Excellent location ,excellent view of Nile
Review 119:Staff members have a horrible attitude with guests and very unprofessional. They asked for an insurance to be paid back after we check out which we paid in dollars and got back in the local currency. When checking out they didn't have change and accordingly we didn't get the exact figure. The rooms are very basic. Because of the horrible staff I'm not going to this hotel again.
Review 120:The location and Nile view from the room was magnificent. Very good buffet breakfast. Very nice reception area and restaurants.
Review 121:Many things such as: Poor receptionist Poor food serves Highly expensive with respect to serves served Expensive Internet with very poor signal
Review 122:View
Review 123:We didn't like the food that much to be honest, concerning quality and varieties.
Review 124:We were lucky! There were some issues with the room we reserved, so the hotel offered us a "Suite". The Nile view is amazing, staff is very helpful and supporting.
Review 125:Once you arrive you will face the bureaucracy management. . Old fashioned stuff seeking money and tips everywhere you have to pay extra charge for everything then you have to ask several times for any request. If you would like to travel to Riyadh Saudi Arabia you can just go the lobby. The hotel is always over crowded so you will suffer even when you want to go out you have to pass through hundreds of people nevertheless waiting list for the breakfast!
Review 126:Nile view Good breakfast
Review 127:We booked the hotel at a specific rate and upon arrival at the hotel they told us that the rate was for Egyptians only and the actual non-Egyptians rate was almost double. We later discovered that a small note had been added with much smaller font to the bottom of the booking indicating that the rate was for Egyptians only. Yet, the hotel still did not honor our booking rate and charged us more. So many other travelers were experiencing the same problem, and the hotel reacted the same way. The staff seem to be so under paid that they take advantage of the slightest sight of an extra cash for tip! We ate at the restaurant and paid in cash. However we accidently wrote our room number on the receipt. The staff member who took the receipt and cash charged our room any way. The reception staff did not take our statement into consideration and made us pay for the restaurants bill. They called the restaurants manager and the staff who were on duty on that day and they all rejected our affirmation and confirmed that there was no cash payment. The room service's staff quality of service was much lower than that of a 5 star hotel. If you do not tip them after 1-2 days they stop servicing your room efficiently like they did previously and ask you to request things by calling room service instead of giving them directly to you from their cart.
Review 128:Location Restaurant
Review 129:100 U$D required upon arrival without any further information. not clean room & public areas for 5* hotel & furniture looks old. parking for in house guest a bit expensive but have to. very poor pool & pool deck area. Hany at reception desk was more qualified than his manager for handling complains. have to wait at my car more than 10 min. at the parking gates after settling my parking bill to let them make sure that i paid the parking fees & it was the worst impression upon leaving this hotel.
Review 130:Breakfast was good & the staff at the restaurant were doing their best with their poor equipment. House keeping staff also were fine but the room wasn't clean upon arrival. "ONLY" Hany from reception team was the best member at the hotel.
Review 131:Lacking the minimum service expectancy , and only focusing on taking money and charging guests for no service in return
Review 132:Only the Nile view and hotel security
Review 133:Booked through booking a suite for 7 nights , my family arrived earlier than me , they checked in very fast . When I arrived there, there were no enough recipients to serve everyone, I had to wait like 10 minutes to get served. The room was very disappointing , sofa and side chairs was old and ugly , and very small. I asked them to move to another suite as am not happy with the floor and I can't enjoy the view, they've moved me to the floor 18 , and here I had the biggest disappointing , I couldn't make a phone call or send an email, because of the bad signal either for the internet and the phone reception . I complained so many time ,and after complaining for days ,I been transferred to a department called ( business centre ) , they've told me that ,they can do anything about it as from floor 16 to 20 the signal is not that good. I had to go down to lobby or to the floor 30 to work on my laptop or to make a phone call. Heating system is not working, Overall was disappointing experience , will never go back there , as it can't be rare as 5 stars hotel
Review 134:Some extra charges: 75 LE for car parking. 500 insurance fees on the room (refundable charge). service tax , charges on the room , dollar exchange rate.
Review 135:Food is great: Italian and revolving restaurant Front desk, revolving restaurant, concierge: very professional staff. View is breath taking, location is great. A real 5 stars hotel.
Review 136:Hotel has change name and owners I presume, it is not the same as the old Grand Hyatt where I have stayed on 4 occasions. The hotel needs maintenance. The wc in our room blocked everyday and the management did not odder to move us to a new room - very uncomfortable - we had to go down to the Health club to use their wc. The hotel is mostly visited by locals and as a tourist i did not feel very welcome. I shall never use this facility again - such a pity. The gallery shopping center adjacent to the Hotel has only 4 shops the rest is closed. The reception foyer is used by entertainers in the evening and the sound is so load that you can not hear a person speaking to you when you check it - it was the worst experience of my life - to check in while some local artist is screaming in your ears.
Review 137:The check-in/check-out process is horrific. The reception staff are very slow at processing each guest and it takes forever. Also, we arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm and the room was still not ready. We finally checked-in at about 5pm.
Review 138:The view from the room was absolutely amazing. The hotel lobby was also very relaxing. We were given the option of having a late check-out which was also nice.
Review 139:sad story for of a hotel that was once one of the best. the staff are very rude and aggressive, service is terribly slow and the room was not clean with stains and dirt all over. It said free wifi included but they meant it is limited time during the day and you have to go out of your room. Very disappointing
Review 140:Nothing really
The Fine Print
