Reviews for Parador de Chinchón

Review 1:Excellent location right opposite the plaza mayor. Lots of facilities that we didn't use in winter but would be great in summer eg swimming pool and outdoor courtyards.

Review 2:Te decoration of the room was slightly dated and the bed could have been more comfortable.

Review 3:The history of the building, the beautiful patio and the (religious) art works displayed all over the place. Very quiet and yet steps away from Chinchon's wonderful Plaza Mayor.

Review 4:Difficult to park large vehicles in the village and in the hotel car park. Not all rooms have a sofa which is essential after a long car journey.

Review 5:Friendly staff. Near to A3 motorway.

Review 6:An old historic building just of the plaza. We were upgraded to room 108 (executive suite) at an extra charge which was superb with own lounge and magnificent bathroom too match Enjoyed our stay

Review 7:The hotel was nice and clean. Nice court yard to wine down after along drive from Nerja. A half hour drive to Barajas airport for an early flight next day. We really liked the little town of Chinchón. Their local wine is pretty decent.

Review 8:Everything don't bother with the Patadores they have had their day I have stayed in many including this one before over the last thirty years never again

Review 9:Nothing really awful staff £165 including a poor breakfast nobody to help you with your luggage from the garage down the road left locked in the garage until the next client arrived Dingy too bathroom grout round the bath filthy plug for the bath not attached to a chain

Review 12:The navigation system in the car took us through the centre of Chinchon at one stage we thought we wouldn't arrive.

Review 13:Beautiful surroundings both within and around the monastery. A very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Lots of interesting things to see in Chinchon all within walking distance.

Review 14:This is the first Parador that would charge 11.5 euro per day forparking while on booking.com it advertise free parking!Service was far from what you would like to expect! You do not feel warm and being taken care of. This is NOT a Parador I would suggest!

Review 15:This is the 3rd Parador we stayed. One night before this one, we stayedin Parador in Leon, that was far better in any possible way.Room was just so so. Big but feels empty and poorly decorated. Stayed July 2014, traveled with family

Review 16:Beautiful, large room.

Review 17:The charm of the property and the location.

Review 18:Beautiful, historic building in centre of chinchon, close to bull ring. Luxurious feel with great pool and restaurant.

Review 19:chinchon, a poor and unattractive place, people get carried away by the name paradores, but the location of this parador es poor

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Close to centre, 100 meters

Review 32:Disappointed the pool was out of action.

Review 33:Plenty of atmosphere

Review 34:Lack of parking and accessibility to get to hotel

Review 35:Ambience was superb, staff were helpful and rooms were excellent

Review 36:Cost of food seemed very high so we did not eat in

Review 37:Location - situated next to main old square and restaurants. Lovely gardens and outlook.

Review 38:Overlooking a dirty pool ,even in winter and expensive meals and drinks !

Review 39:The location, the staff and the rooms and views

Review 40:The sound proofing between rims was very poor

Review 41:Superb location for this delightful town. Hotel is amazing-loved everything about it

Review 42:The price of breakfast at 16euros was excessive for a continental breakfast.Would be much cheaper taken in a local bar nearby.

Review 43:Parking in another building

Review 44:Good staff lovely building

Review 45:Beautiful premises . Lovely large pool in well maintained gardens. Hotel right next to the town plaza.

Review 46:confort de la cama

Review 47:Piscina

Review 48:Night time noise from street bands

Review 49:Comfort, staff, cleanliness, beautiful grounds, location

Review 50:A little disappointed with the evening meal. Chose the lamb at 26 euros and felt there was a lack of accompaniment side dishes

Review 51:Excellent location. Loved the gardens. Peaceful and relaxing

Review 52:Finding parking space away from Parador difficult to locate for foreigners given the narrow streets. Had to wait much longer than the stated check in time for our room to be prepared and having travelled over 35hrs, would have appreciated a more timely access.

Review 53:A very stylish historical building with magnificent gardens and outdoor pool. The elegant dining area overlooked tree lined courtyard with fountains. A quiet retreat not far from Madrid.

Review 54:It's a bit 'linear' so quite a long way to walk to our room, but that's the nature of the building. A very minor price to pay.

Review 55:Fully up to expectation. Excellent staff and food. Immediately outside Plaza Mayor of this charming and interesting little town. Secure garage parking across the road.

Review 56:We almost gave up finding the hotel, every acces was blocked as the Plaza Mayor was transformed to an arena. Ón top of that we had a hard time coming from and again back to the highway heading north and South.,

Review 57:Beautiful building in the middle of a small town, lovely room with a nice view, not to mention the lovely patio for drinks and dinner

Review 58:Very difficult to locate in car due to narrow streets. whilst there is garaging available, narrowness of streets makes access difficult with larger cars.

Review 59:Lovely building and good use of antiques within. tranquil atmosphere despite being located in centre of town.

Review 60:Excellent location right next to the main plaza / bull ring (if you like that sort of thing) where all the restaurants and bars are. Although we didn't hear a thing during the night. Secure overnight parking for 11 euros which I'd recommend as parking anywhere near on the street is practically impossible.

Review 61:This parador is situated close to the Plaza Major were you can easily park your car if you are lucky. At first impression the accommodation looks a bit dated but it has very high quality. The garden and the swimming pool are really lovely. Breakfast is more than decent. Top choice for this region an enjoy the quietness just outside Madrid.

Review 62:No seats to sit down for a rest when out and about .unless you were drinking at local taverns.

Review 63:Local Food choices and small town atmosphere. Not too many tourists - ideal for a complete rest. Bus service into Madrid (45 mins) easy to use and good value.

Review 64:Large comfortable rooms in a beautifully converted stone walled building kept immaculately clean and with polite and friendly staff. A haven of tranquility.

Review 65:Food is not good, meat was not good made. City is old.

Review 66:Parador is located in centre historical downtown. Parking is near hotel, very comfortable. Staff is helpful. City is very small, old.

Review 67:Absolutely annoying to have a room overlooking a pool and nice surroundswhich were both locked when the temperature varied between 30/32degrees. Potential guests should note that summer opening times areconfined to 15 June to 15 Sept. Out of those dates the Hotel Condesa deChinchon across the road is a better option at half the price and betterparking facilities.

Review 68:A pleasent hotel with by far the best restaurant in town. Staff inrestaurant were very good while front of house were somewhatindifferent.

Review 69:Beds hard and thin pillows!

Review 70:Quiet Lovely relaxing pool area Excellent restaurant Chinchon is a small village built around a central square with plenty of good restaurants. Our stay coincided with the week long fiesta, complete with bullfights and fireworks. I suspect it is pretty quiet otherwise. Chinchon is very Spanish, few tourists and not a lot of English spoken.

Review 71:Everything was great .

Review 72:This hotel is a real gem. From arrival till departure the staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation and facilities are fantastic and well up to the usual parador standard. The situation of this hotel in the middle of this exceptional Spanish town makes it ideal not only for access to the local restaurants and bars but for exploring and uncovering the secrets of this slightly out of the way really typical old Spanish town and the surrounding countryside. Well worth a repeat visit.

Review 73:Fabulous location in this delightful little town. The staff are all helpful and friendly and the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Garage parking is available.

Review 74:Difficult to find when we arrived in Chinchón - more street signsindicating its location would be good.

Review 75:Location good, gardens beautiful. Lovely pool, very quiet. Good centrefor touring the area.

Review 76:Took ages to check in despite being pre-booked. Also, at the end of May,with temperatures in the high 20s, I would have expected the swimmingpool to be open.

Review 77:Excellent room, excellent dinner, excellent breakfast. Beautiful publicareas including very pretty courtyards. Very well located near to thespectacular Plaza Mayor.
