Reviews for Anakato Nubian Houses
Review 1:I have been their for 2 nights during Christmas 2014, and I wiched if my stay could be extended for a week. ANAKATO hotel experiance would take much space of description than this area, but I could summarize it as it is a reflection of the Nobian city of Aswan where the purity, peaceful and amazing nature combine together over there. You should go and stay in ANAKATO...
Review 2:I enjoyed my stay! The Anakato Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The location is wonderfull romantic and quiet. Its a place for Indiviuals not for the mainstreem. You have the chance to meet interesting people there!
Review 3:I found very few places in my travels throughout Egypt where prices are provided for goods. Aswan in no different. In most cases you have to bargain. The process can be overwhelming at times but I got accustomed to it after a while.
Review 4:I travelled extensively throughout Egypt (Cairo, Hurghada, Soma Bay, El Gouna, Abu Simbel ). Each place has its own special qualities. Aswan felt like the soul of Egypt to me and especially the Nubian village where Anakato is located. The people in the village are warm, friendly and eager to share their rich culture with you. I stayed in building 3. The view of the Nile from the courtyard is breathtaking as is the morning sun rise, moon and stars. I initially booked 7 days and extended my stay for another 3 days to soak up more of the beauty there.
Review 5:location, staff are very friendly and helpful, cleanliness and the beatiful decoration and colors
Review 6:Staff are excellent with no exceptions
Review 7:Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Great view over the River Nile Very generous breakfast
Review 8:Loved it all.
Review 9:Another world
Review 10:Everything very nice and good!!We enjoyed the sun the view and the village style it's amazing..different design and colors everywhere!!
Review 11:There was a little bit of a language barrier, and it wasn't clear who had authority for some things, like the bill.... The room was small, but adequate. One night the neighbors were really yelling at one another and it was loud and disruptive (but it stopped before 9 and we slept well).
Review 12:The decor and overall atmosphere of Anakato Nubian Houses is wonderful, like another aesthetic dimension. The setting is authentic, and it's a quiet riverside location. The staff really got us in touch with the local musicians and we enjoyed their traditional music.
Review 13:There was no proper check in creating an uneasy arrival. As we were inquiring as to its location a man just said yes and took our luggage straight to the room without any formal greeting or check in. We were the only guests which added to the uneasiness the firsts night. The staff spoke very poor English wich made it incredibly hard to communicate anything without any knowledge of Arabic. The shops in the town now suffering form the lag in tourism since the revolution will try to get any incredibly rediculus sum of money out of you no matter the product, and they can be quite relentless.
Review 14:The staff was very friendly and they served up delicious home cooked meals. Sitting directly in the Nile south of Aswan proper the stay was quit and peaceful.
Review 15:The place was not value for money, all rather basic. Just outside the building you're in the village which is full of stalls selling tourist things, expect to be hassled. We stayed one night which was fine, but not a lot to do around the guest house. We got badly bitten too!!
Review 16:Setting by the Nile lovely, a rather quirky place. Staff friendly. We didn't take the boat into Aswan as we had only one day-went to a local football match which was fun and everyone was very friendly- gave us cups of tea.
Review 17:Most of the staff does not speak english, but are friendly. Hot water runs about 4 mins than is cold. Upon my arrival there were three lights out in my room and was later fixed my management. There were holes in the window screens and the mosquito's everywhere. Breakfast is not served in the Nubian house, you must take a boat ride to get breakfast or a 10 minute walk. Wifi is not available in the house. Breakfast could have more variety for the price you pay for the room. I had to purchase my own fruit, which you must buy on the other side of the river. The restaurant served luke warm meals with plastic still on it, I preferred to dine somewhere else. Staff and management argue in front of guest. My checkout bill was hand written and on piece of paper that already had writing on it, instead of a printed invoice. The price range is wrong for the service and accommodations. They really need to lower there prices. The house is really beautiful and location is wonderful. The staff needs to be more organized for better quality of service. I would still recommend the Nubian House to other travelers.
Review 18:The nubian house is brightly colored, cozy and nicely designed. The location is on the nile and the desert is the backyard. It's a relaxing house and very quiet. The staff was friendly and really tried. Also walking distance to the Nubian village for shopping. The house is a peaceful place. The view is priceless.
Review 19:The Lodge isn't the cheapest option, but having stayed there, I'm really glad we did!
Review 20:The Lodge is stunning! The rooms are simple but beautifully decorated. You are out of town on the Nile, a short ride from the airport and a fellucca or faster boat ride to attractions. Great trip organiser! Staff are lovely. Food was local and really nice. The Nubian village is just behind, with shopping (don't forget to haggle!)
Review 21:For 140 dollars a night very poor breakfast and dirty bathroom.
Review 22:Nice location at the nile in a traditinonal nubian atmosphere.
