Reviews for Hotel Madreselva
Review 1:Thin walls, you will hear your neighbours.
Review 2:The hotel is lovely. And contrary to former comments (and my expectations) the breakfast buffet offered everything for a rich continental breakfast.
Review 3:Not cheap but looked like the best in the area. A fridge would have been nice.
Review 4:Great staff, friendly, cheerful and helpful, good big bed, nice but small room, with mini walled private courtyard at rear. Parking was very useful and no problem.
Review 5:The walls are really thin, so you hear every cough or conversation of your neighbors,
Review 6:The location allows to have a walk through the nature reserve and the same evening enjoying the sunset near Cabo de Trafalgar. The beaches nearby are perfect, with the advice of the staff we discovered the white town of Vejer, which is so near.
Review 7:The rooms were dark and basic. Bathroom cold. TV very small with all Arabic channels. So if you want comfort it would be a typical 2 star in this country and worth the rate they charged us. Not a good location very little around this town but all the other towns are beautiful around this area so worth visiting
Review 8:Very friendly and a lovely typical Spanish building with lovely surrounds.
Review 9:Breakfast is cleared away promptly - don't sleep late, they won't wait.
Review 10:Stone's throw from the Beach and great beach bars/restaurants. Bright, fresh feel. Bedrooms with white bed spreads, interesting contemporary paintings, and private terraces. Lovely, plant-filled horseshoe patio, and swimming pool beyond. Friendly and helpful.
Review 11:The "private" door near our room was slammed by the staff. They could install a to close it automatically
Review 12:Free parking, very nice and helpful staff, cool chill vibe in the garden, positive attitude all the way and a vintage surf over the bar. They also put the breakfast the evening before leaving in the room due to early check out.
Review 13:Breakfast coffee is bad.the breakfast could be improved since the room price is not cheap. The beach in front of the hotel is almost non existent. So you will need to walk 5 to 15minutes further to find the more comfortable and special beaches from caños de meca.
Review 14:The friendliness of personel and availability of hotel. Location is good, , next to the beach and restaurants ans shops. Nice swimming pool and very good mojitos. Very not nice dinning area with plenty of flowers and confortable couches It also has a very handy car parking.
Review 15:No need for TV screen and safe in the room, but there should be a refrigerator in the rooms. Especially when the tap water is non-potable.
Review 16:The location close to beaches. The, at all times, friendly and nice treatment you received from all staff.
Review 17:Nada
Review 18:Welcoming, friendly, clean everything as before and made a reservation for us to have dinner at Hotel Califa in Vejer a sister hotel. Cant speak highly enough of them, hope Josh enjoyed his work experience period lucky lad. Regards Chris & Fenella Butcher
Review 19:Tranquilidad. Patio central. Piscina.
Review 20:The breakfast was repetitive and not of great quality
Review 21:location, staff helpfullness, quirky place fitting with the environnment laid back hippiish
Review 22:Breakfast in the garden, private terrace, very friendly staff
Review 23:The staff and the proximity of the beach.
Review 24:Everything was perfect. Especially stuff :) Very hospitable atmosphere.
Review 25:wifi only available in reception area
Review 26:Quaint hotel with lovely swimming pool and garden area. Ideal location for Los Canos. Highly recommended.
Review 27:Overall the staff were really friendly and very helpful, but the lady on reception in the evening was not as friendly as everyone else (she didn't seem very happy!) That said it did not spoil our enjoyment.
Review 28:Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, in a great location. We have been before and we will visit again - absolutely love it.
Review 29:The hotel is very beautifully arranged with nice flowers in the sitting area. The rooms are nice too and the breakfast was very good. The beach as well as restaurants are nearby.
Review 30:The value for such money is very poor.We had to push many times the reseption staff to be so kind and helpful as to find out some info for us, i.e. the bus timetable to get to Malaga and call a taxi at our check-out day. Was it too difficult to find it in the internet they sit all day long??The personnel is importunate, asking every time :"¿Todo es perfecto?" We met only strained smiles, but no actions to help us.
Review 31:Rooms and the internal yard are good.
Review 32:Breakfast was a bit poor.
Review 33:The hotel is very nice and cosy, better than what it looks in the pictures. The room was big enough with its own patio on the back. All rooms give on to a common garden with table which is very nice and a lovely small swimming pool good for a bit of relax. The location is very good to access the see and the staff was very friendly and spoke english.
Review 34:Having stayed here a few years ago we were delighted it was still the great small hotel we remembered, with very friendly helpful staff. Great place for a few days relaxation at the wonderful beach across the road!
Review 35:Drain smell at entrance Light in bedroom hallway which kept coming onduring the night a fridge in the bedroom would have been good Aninternational news channel on the tv would have been good
Review 36:The location, and arrangement of bedrooms with private courtyards arounda comunal courtyard. Friendly staff
Review 37:Very thin walls so you hear your neighbors very clearly which is very inconvenient when they snore...
Review 38:Nicely decorated, close to the beach, good breakfast
Review 39:The hotel was very clean, the staff spoke English and were extremely helpful. The front desk was manned 24/7.There was a very calm relaxed atmosphere. Our room was cleaned everyday and I liked the small private terrace outside. The gardens are beautifully kept and a real pleasure to sit and have breakfast in, which was continental and self service, served from 8.30 till 11.00. There was a choice of cereals, ham, cheese, bread and rolls. The swimming pool area leading off the gardens was also very nice, although we did not use it much simply because the coastline, in that region is so stunning, that we went to the beach every day Outside the hotel,Los Canos de Meca itself is a bit scruffy, but it seems to have grown organically into a holiday resort, which is quite rare in Spain. Its the Spain I remember from 40 years ago, which I did not know existed any more.
Review 40:We found no fauklts with the Madraselva
Review 41:My wife and I were made to feel extremely welcome and all the staff, including the manager Mercedes, made sure our stay was a happy andrestful one..The swimming pool was clean and accessible for me as adisabled customer and the room was clean and bright with a widerbathroom door for a wheelchair user. The private little walled patio wasan added bonus as we could sit and relax in the sun in total privacy.Breakfast in the bar/reception are was a great way of communicating withfellow guests and of a good standard..We would strongly recommend theMadraselva to anyone wanting a reasonably priced break.
Review 42:The hotel was in an ideal location for our stay. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. The hotel provided excellent accommodation for a seaside trip including a private courtyard to store surf boards etc or just to sit and relax. The surroundings were beautuiful and charming. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
