Reviews for Pyramisa Isis Corniche Aswan Resort

Review 1:The allover dirtiness of everything. The bad smell that welcomes you when you arrive in the lobby. The sheets that look already used. The dust and the red traces (blood ?) on the phone. The baby cot that had one side missing and its matress made of worn out foam. The coffee table whose glass top was broken. The poor breakfast. This is definitly not a four star hotel. We had booked 4 nights and stayed only one !

Review 2:Not much except the location. You can't be closer to the Nile, it's just ten feet below the window.

Review 3:While the rooms (especially the bathroom) have been updated, the hotel area appears rather worn down and lacking overall maintenance. In its current shape I would not consider it a 4 star hotel.

Review 4:The location is super right on the Nile along the water front and opposite the souq entrance. The staff was helpful and quick to repair hot water problem and broken lamp.

Review 5:* Housekeeping needs continuous follow up

Review 6:* Staff are friendly and helpful * Location is very good and close by commercial area and touristic places * Quiet place to relax

Review 7:Don't go to this hotel if it is cold. NO HEAT!! Rooms are okay ... NOT 5 Star! NO WiFi in rooms! No Elevator for those of us with bad knees .... down ~20 stairs from street. But rooms are all ground floor

Review 8:Staff is good & location fantastic!! Great view of Nile!! Breakfast quite good.

Review 9:Cleanliness of some areas - toilets in public areas not clean. Buffet breakfast poor. Wifi only in lobby and very temperamental Generally hotel is very tired, only minimal upkeep but this is typical of the area at the moment. Bathroom products in dispensers and not good.

Review 10:Pool area with seating areas to have a drink and watch the sunset - one of best spots in Aswan. Location - perfect to walk to station, through markets, get felucca etc Friendly staff at front desk

Review 11:* it wasn't clean until we asked to clean the room changing sheets and pillows * and we asked to fix the shower toilet seat and lights. * they fixed and changed and cleaned all.. but you have to ask first

Review 12:* I liked location * staff was nice

Review 13:The beer was very expensive! Found a nice place down the road where they were half the price. Morning coffee was terrible! Absolutely terrible! Wi-fi was only available in the reception area. Being hassled by the locals every time we left the hotel was beyond obnoxious!!!! No wonder the women were burkas, I almost bought one!

Review 14:The view, garden setting and central location were great! The staff were friendly and helpful. They set up our day tours/trips which made them much easier.

Review 15:Very warm place .. Whole atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Very nice view of the river nile and islands. Great location .. Close to all main attractions.

Review 16:Maitenance and status of rooms and facilities Extra orders of drinks are veryvlimited. Food and beverage menue is almost theoretical as majority of itemd are not available ,olive oil, fruit juice. Even coffee (any type) is just a liquid with no coffee at all. Furniture is shabby lighting and tv reception and ekectric sockets need major comprehensive renovation.

Review 17:Superb location . Food was generous and tasty, not much of a culinary experience though adequate and filling.Nile view rooms are really charming.

Review 18:The hotel room was not secure. There were cockroaches and I had to go to reception for insect spray to kill them myself. It was disgusting. The wifi barely works. no balcony and door that locked with a flimsy chain

Review 19:Nothing to like

Review 20:We had a really bad experience in this hotel, not entirely their fault, but really annoying. On our first night in the hotel, around 11pm it start raining heavily in Aswan. It lasted for about 15 minutes, but it was really raining a lot. We were almost sleeping when we started to hear something dripping, only to realize that was inside of the room! So we had to get up, gather garbage bins and whatever recipients were in the room to collect the water, while trying to call reception, but we were soon out of power too. At the worst of it, it was literally raining from three different spots of the ceiling. Eventually we contacted reception, they gave us another room, not so good, but after the dripping stopped we actually cleaned the water ourselves and went back to our room. This happened to several other guests that were at the hotel at that time. I have to say the staff was really nice and helpful, both on that night and the day after, and fortunately it didn't go worse - I was afraid of an electrical problem (staff check that too) or even that the roof would crawl! Another issue I have to point out was that in the last day of our stay, for some reason, the hotel didn't serve the usual buffet breakfast, and instead they gave us a plate with cheese, ham, jams and some bread. For me it was really frustrating because I don't like any of these except for the bread. They made eggs by request, but not much more. Maybe they had less guests that day, or less staff working, I don't know, but I would at least expect a valid explanation.

Review 21:The hotel looks nice and it is very well located, close to the centre of Aswan and to the market, with shops and restaurants nearby. We had a room located directly in front of the Nile, with a great view. The rooms could be refurbished but they are comfortable enough. The garden and swimming pool area are also nice, specially by the pool, you have wonderful views of the Nile and of the Elephantine island in the middle of the river.

Review 22:The lights in our room did not work. We noticed this upon arrival; we asked them to fix it and were promised that they would. Two hours later they hadn’t yet so we asked again, and they promised again. By the evening it was still not fixed so we asked for the third time, and finally someone came over to look at it. The lights worked for a short while, and then shorted out again. We were too tired to deal with them again so just showered in the dark. We asked for a glass at the bar and were given a visibly dirty one. Wifi did not work in the room, pool or reception area, we were told to go sit in the bar, and there the signal was very weak. Breakfast was disappointing.

Review 23:The pool was nice to swim in. We paid for a garden view room and were given a Nile view room. Reception staff friendly.

Review 24:We paid 58$ a night after discount and this place was terrible. - the view was a dirty part of the Nile despite asking them to change the room, the gave us yet another one wit a worse view. - our booking said double bed and they gave us two singles - wifi was listed as free in the booking but there was no wifi throughout our stay - breakfast was disappointing - no one available at the reception during our check in and check out

Review 25:Close to the centre

Review 26:Food very bad,, Night sift stuff very bad .. Window not open.. Not clean room

Review 27:Nile view room, Mr.Hany and morning Manager's works good. Location good.

Review 28:The first meal wasn't good but when we complained, they said we wouldn't have to pay for it. After that the food was better

Review 29:Lovely view of the Nile from our bedroom, the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Review 30:Appearance of building quite tired, Outside tables were never wiped down, food was average & slow

Review 31:We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite looking out over the Nile, lovely & clean swimming pool and very quiet. staff were friendly

Review 32:Not very clean. Don't care much about details. Compared to others nearby we payed more money for less quality.

Review 33:Location is perfect, market is one block away, and if you get the right room you'll get a beautiful view of Nile River. Pool was very good and clean. Breakfast bag is convenient for those taking the 4 am convoy to Abu Simbel.

Review 34:The hotel was probably very nice in its heyday, but now it's in need of some serious renovation, in terms of the hotel grounds and common facilities. The shower in the room looked really nice, but the glass that separated the bathroom from the shower was not completely up against the wall, so after the shower, you have a very big puddle on the ground everywhere. This took awhile to dry, so we couldn't walk in there with our socks. Our Nile view room was great, but there was no balcony like the garden terrace rooms, so I would actually recommend the garden view rooms instead. The in-room safe didn't work, there was no heater (cold at nights), and no minibar. We had a problem with mosquitoes at night, which made the sleep rather unpleasant.

Review 35:The location is great. It's right on the Corniche and we had a Nile view room after requesting the upgrade. You're in walking distance to many things (the souq, ferry boats, felukka operators, and various restaurants). The breakfast was very simple and basic, but good enough. they had egg and omelette station as well as Egyptian foul.

Review 36:When I asked about the price of a flight to Abu Simbel the manager instead tried to push me onto buying a convoy/minibus ticket to Abu Simbel. In fact he said there were no flights to Abu Simbel when I knew for a fact that there are flights. It seems the hotel is more interested in getting people to buy trips to Abu Simbel through their travel agent-- who needs to be called up to show up and meet with you at a time-- for them to make commission's and profit. The afternoon that I left Aswan I was sitting in the hotel lobby and watched and overheard the "travel agent" selling a package to Abu Simbel to an older German couple. Not once did he mention the flight option, as though it did not exist, he only talked about convoy, minibus and private car, and prices.A Brazilian couple that had stayed at ISIS told me that they were told there were no flights because there are so few tourists. Again, a lie.The trip to Abu Simbel overland is a very long 3 hours or more and 3 hours back. It can be cramped, uncomfortable, and hot. It's a long haul for a quick visit to the Abu Simbel--though worth the visit. The flying option is much more expensive but incredibly convenient and fast.Down the street from Pyramisa Isis Resort I found the Egypt Air office. There I booked my flight to Abu Simbel for the next morning--I couldn't book online because the internet at the hotel sucked. (After the attempt at deceiving me that there were no flights I was no longer interested in dealing with any one of their agents.)Included in the Egypt Air flight booking is an Egypt Air bus to Abu Simbel and back to the airport. How convenient!!The flight was at 9:30 AM and should take 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back. We took off in the morning 20 minutes early believe it or not!! On the return flight at 1PM we left on time and arrived in 35 minutes due to tail winds. The flight experience, the visit, et al was fantastic, smooth and convenient, and fast.

Review 37:The food was ok, but the cleanliness was very very bad. Everything was dirty, the bed, the bathrooms, floor. The sunbeds where so dusty that you even don't want to sit on it. Also the restaurant was very dirty. All the plates forks and knives were filthy. My daughter got sick after having lunch there. The floors from the restaurant could have a very good scrub! It is a pity, because the location and the looks of the hotel is nice, but they definately have to invest in good cleaning staff.

Review 38:Nile View

Review 39:The staff was not overly accommodating with helping to arrange a tour to Abu Simbel, nor could they recommend any restaurants other than KFC or McDonald's, which was quite surprising.

Review 40:While a little dated, the hotel is in a good location along the river and offers good views. For the price at the time I stayed, it was a bargain and I would certainly stay again.

Review 41:The reception staff were lacklustre, particularly the guy on the desk on my last day - he was downright rude &, even when I told him I would be giving a negative review he just glared at me. The restaurant service was also very poor, particularly at lunchtime. Almost everything I asked for was unavailable & the only excuse I was given was that there were "not many tourists now".

Review 42:Location on the Corniche, which was very convenient to the souk/market. View of the Nile from my room.

Review 43:Nothing that I complain about based on the level of the booking every thing is matching the cost of accommodation.

Review 44:Staff there are helpful, however this is the nature of humans over there, kindness and welcoming us how they always look like. Value for money is based on one main factor whic is the location of the hotel , apart from that the hotel is fair enough to make it a 2-3 days not more than that based on bein busy outside of the hotel , as the hotel itself is not based on the luxury of in house stay , to be honest as well the tiurism in aswan is based on outside tourism more than staying in the hotel

Review 45:Mosquito grill on bathroom window was broken. Window had been left open - got bitten to death over night the bar was poorly stocked as was the restaurant all facilities were "tired"

Review 46:Hotel was on the river. The staff were helpful

Review 47:beds weren't clean.. neither were the bathrooms. bats everywhere.. food was not good.. insects inside the rooms.. i definitely dont recommend it

Review 48:only good thing is the location and the view

Review 49:The hotel in general is very dated. The rooms were clean but there were dead mosquitoes on the walls. The staff not very attentive. It took a long time to get bar service by the pool. The lounge chairs by the pool were out- but without cushions or towels.

Review 50:It has a good location.

Review 51:I had a "Nile View" room booking confirmed but on arrival after being shown 2 different rooms without a view of the Nile, the explanation I was given was that the Nile view room was "broken" It would appear that there may be some renovation works in progress but, that being the case, the rooms should not have been advertised as being available. I was given the discounted rate for the non Nile view room I eventually stayed in.

Review 52:This hotel seems to struggling to maintain their services in the current tourist climate in Egypt.

Review 53:Things were clean, but everything was looking a bit tired. We were in a sort of chalet which, even in December, was very hot and stuffy at night, so we had to have the air-con running. The coffee at breakfast was terrible (so weak)!

Review 54:Staff were very helpful. The location was very central and right by the Nile.

Review 55:Dimlly light stinky rooms. There was a strong smell of tobacco in the room. Lackbof sufficient lighting for reading.

Review 56:Excellent location with excellent staff.

Review 57:- Extremely dirty (dust on bed sheets and it was disgusting to sleep) - cockroach in the bathroom. Not at all a 4-star hotel. The two start one would be cleaner than that. - Staff was not at all professional. They wanted to keep our IDs over night and we refused so they said to bring it in the morning. We were staying one night only. We checked out and they don't even know who we are or what are our identities. They didn't check my ID at all!!! - The cleaning lady wouldn't knock on the door before she enters, she just opens the door to come in!!! No manners! I was changing my clothes and it was so bad for me she doesn't respect privacy. - Very poor and it barely had guests in. I would never go again.

Review 58:Only location was good right Infront of the big market

Review 59:One man in charge of serving, coffee, general help who didn't seem to have a clue about service.

Review 60:The view - the rooms. It is a comfortable place. Less like a hotel more like a garden with chalets.

Review 61:The room was filthy and the bathroom was horrible. The bed sheets were stained and the walls too had brown stains. The lock on the door did not work either, making this one night a very uncomfortable one. The receptionist seemed to be very uninformed about Aswan in general and hardly had any answers to our questions. Breakfast was okay but the plates were not clean. It was hard for me to find one that I can use.

Review 62:The place is poorly maintained, bathroom ventilation wasn't working, no protection available against mosquitos, food quality in the restaurant was too modest, many beverages in the menu were not available.

Review 63:The location is great and the staff, especially the receptionists are very friendly and extremely helpful with tips and advice concerning where to go, when and how much to pay for taxis and felucas. Breakfast buffet was also varied and plentiful.

Review 64:I am never a fan of hotels with armed guards... but I suppose that in Egypt it is a necessity.

Review 65:I am a senior executive who travels a lot and with respect to a hotel, there is nothing that touches me more profoundly than staff who is able to provide that welcome 'at home feel'... and that was my most recent experience at this hotel... This has been my 4th stay at this hotel and there is little wonder that I keep coming back. All members of staff, from the Manager, Mr. Hany to the house keeping, bell staff, dining and laundry staff...I felt at home in a truly unpretentious atmosphere. The staff went the extra mile to ensure that I was comfortable... By day two, I felt not like a guest but more like family. Mr. Ezzat (the Manager), Mr. Amr and the front desk staff are amongst the most friendly that I have experienced.. Kalosha, and the other bell men were amazing.. always willing to help out.. Ahmed in laundry provided a personal touch...Fesal, Nsreen and other housekeeping staff provided a clean room with my bed decorated daily with a new interesting design of Crocodiles and peacocks fashioned from the towels...the gardening staff provided fresh flowers, each with its own personal signature touch...Mr. Hany Ezzat should be commended for the special personal touch encouraged and manifested in the staff... Thanks for a wonderful stay. This has been the best value for money.. Dr. Jeff

Review 66:Some things in this property need renovation. Some of the facilities like the sunset balcony are to dangerous to walk on. Further some of the staff of the bar at the pool where more busy to read the newspaper then help us. When we asked for towels or drinks, he went on reading his newspaper, and let someone else come from the restaurant to help us.... I should have maken a picture of this.

Review 67:The building structure, the staff in reception & cleaning and at breakfast are very helpful

Review 68:Nothing

Review 69:The service was impeccable and and the gardener gave me a little posie of flowers for our room without wanting a tip. He was genuinely surprised when my husband gave him a tip. It was wonderful and the staff were amazingly helpful. The food from the hotel restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced and the view over the Nile from the restaurant was the bonus. When we had an early morning flight they made us a breakfast box and made a coffee for us before we left. The hotel organised the airport transfer at a very reasonable price. I give this hotel 10 out 10. We had been travelling for 3 months and we arrived in Aswan from a 4 day - 5 star cruise. The staff at this hotel had better customer service skills.

Review 70:All the rooms are facing the public space and there is a footpath right in front. So the windows are heavilly tinted and you need to keep the curtain tightly closed at night. I found it rather suffocating. Wifi is available only in the public area and it is extremely slow and unstable. Some of the staff are excellent but some are dead unfriendly beyond belief.

Review 71:Location could not be better.

Review 72:The faciliyt in hotel room is not proper equiped, myself and my husband were hurt by the funiture because they were not proper designed. Bath tub could not drain properly, I had to standing in the dirty water to complete the shower. Water tape leaks while using. Wifi is only in lobby and it is very very slow. Water in swimming pool is dirty.

Review 73:Good location, 10-15 mins walking to Train Station. Next to Nile river with good river view. Swimming pool is available. Tasty buffet breakfast.
