Reviews for Marhaba Palace Hotel
Review 1:The waiter was too late serving breakfast. it is if he did not wake up. he did not even show up when summoned by his colleague to attend to guests at restaurant. I had to leave to catch my flight.
Review 2:location
Review 3:The hotel has been sorely neglected, it is very run down and shabby. Housekeeping was very poor, one room had used sheets and towels when we arrived, another was not serviced on one day, another was provided with soiled towels. In one room the shower did not work, In another the door to the balcony was broken and was blown open by the wind. The breakfast was nothing to write home about, pastries and croissants stale.
Review 4:The location was good, great views from the balconies on the Nile side. The hotel building and infrastructure has great potential but needs proper management.
Review 5:Employee were unkind; kept me waiting for long time to check in. Also attitude were the worst ever. Bathroom was not cleaned up enough.
Review 6:Only thing I can say as good point is the location. It takes only a few minutes to Aswan station on foot.
Review 7:Wifi was broken all 3 days. They made no effort to fix it. It took literally 30 minutes to check out. The morning staff did not even know how to run the credit card machine (I had to do it for them) Breakfast was 3 pieces of bread and some prepackaged cheese portions. Really over priced for what you're getting. The building and rooms are very run down, furniture is like classroom furniture at a school . Maybe this was a palace 30 Years go but not today.
Review 8:Location Is very central in Aswan.
Review 9:Breakfast was poor...coffee very diluted...artificial juice, etc. One of the staff in the night shift is sarcastic and unfriendly. Not helpfull at all. Wifi in the rooms is poor. Excursions to Abu Simbel a bit overpriced.
Review 10:Location is fabulous. Day staff is friendly and helpfull. Beautiful sunset from the roof top.
Review 11:The hotel decor is a little tired
Review 12:Great location for train station, corniche and the souk. Staff really friendly and helpful Great views of the Nile from the roof terrace and balcony
Review 13:The restaurant could do with some English speaking staff. We did get help when we asked for it, but initially the persons attending could communicate only in Arabic. Also the lighting at the reception could be brighter. This is not a serious issue for the people staying in their rooms, more lightsat the reception certainly helps to give the reception a more bright look.
Review 14:Location is excellent. Very close to station and also to ferry crossing from where you can cross over to the West Bank. We had taken Nile View rooms, and the views were superb. The front office staff were also very helpful.
Review 17:One of Marhaba front desk clerk was very unpleasant and rude because I made arrangement to travel from Aswan to Abu Simble on my own instead of using their service which was too much for the trip cost compared to my own arrangement, I had to report him to his superiors simply because he turned abusive and rude, the other staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 18:The location is excellent, the rooms are fair, in general Aswan trip worth every penny I spent.
Review 19:rooms were shabby.one could not stand in front of bathroom vanity. hot water was not always available. lights in corridor were out. food plates were left outside in corridor. elevator got stuck several time. lobby did not have enough light. do NOT book any excursion from hotel staff and get everything in writing. we booked several things thru hotel staff. big MISTAKE. they wanted all money right away which we gave them. felucca captain did not complete 3 hours, did not go to seheyl island and abandoned us more than 1/2 mile away from hotel. after complaing to staff I am still waiting for answer [they told me they were trying get in touch with captain] after agreeing on transport to light and sound show to Philae. they kept telling there is no show. there was always 1 show in some language. and of course in the end we missed show. another staff member provided us transport. the gentleman who took us to site told us there always one show[he is travel agent] the only things which came out ok were travel to abu simbel and car travel to luxor with kom ombo and edfu stops. that might be because we had right drivers. I think booking.com should NOT list this hotel without investigating it.
Review 20:the balcony had wonderful view of nile, cornice, noble's tomb.
Review 21:The hotel fronts a park...with lighted amusement rides which only come to life after dark, creating lots of noise.
Review 22:AC and good thick walls and windows blocks the park noise. Staff was very friendly. Fridge was nice to keep our water bottle cold. Bell boy offered to purchase my train tickets, which was very helpful.
Review 23:Trip to Abu Simbel provided by hotel is too expensive, 120 LE. one person. Room is very small, bathroom is smaller. Breakfast is very bad.
Review 24:Near the railway station and Nile river. There's a McDonld nearby(5minutes walking to south along the nile river). Good nile river view from balcony of the room.
Review 25:Breakfast poor no fruit or cereal. Bathroom had no water for part of day. Aswan has few middle range hotels so this hotel will do for 1-2 nights only.
Review 26:The water in the pool was cold and refreshing. We had a good view of the Nile. Air Con in room was ok
Review 27:Friendly staff in a well located hotel
Review 28:nothing
Review 29:reasonable price
Review 30:the breakfast was appalling
Review 31:location 3minutes from the city centre and literally by the Nile.
Review 32:Location
Review 33:Very very old, not very clean, bathroom horrible, breakfast not good
Review 34:Good location
Review 35:The staff
Review 36:Nothing
Review 37:helpful staff, high speed free wifi
Review 38:The matress was broken and most of the lights at the hotel are broken or remain off all day.
Review 39:The views from the terrace
Review 40:the staff is not very much helpful
Review 41:location is perfect. the view is auwsome.
Review 42:small room & less service, we took off early morning, but less breakfast for us
Review 43:good location & nice view for Nile river
Review 44:The room was a little bit small but big enough to be confortable
Review 45:The location of the hotel is really perfect, and the staff very kind and friendly. The room was clean and with all the facilities and the food good and abundant. Everything was ok and the stay was perfect.
Review 46:The 20 hours a day of honking cars on the corniche.
Review 47:The charming welcome, dinner and breakfast on the roofterrasse with an owerwhelming view ower the corniche and Nile. The balcony of my room, the cleanness and the friendlyness of every single staffperson I met.
Review 48:Bed was a little harder than in other hotels of similar caliber that I stayed in while in Egypt.
Review 49:The rooms were clean. There is free breakfast included in the price, which they will give you in a box "to go" for people going on early morning excursions. Other nice touches from the staff like sending us a fruit basket to our room. Good location near the railway station and shops. The value that you get for the price is unbeatable. I enjoyed my stay here.
Review 50:For the money, it was not that nice and a bit dated. We stayed in the Hilton in Cairo for the same money which was much better quality. If they lowered the price, it would be better value but was expecting better. Very noisy outside at night.
Review 51:Staff were polite
Review 52:The building I guess was quite old,in fact I think most of the building in Egypt is old.If the management would consider to change the menu in the coffee house with more variety.and most important I think the towel need to be more softer.
Review 53:I am travelling alone-single mom with 3 young children age 1 1/2,5 and 14 years old son. When I 1 st arrived at Marhaba I was greeted well by the General Manager himself and offered me and upgraded room. The General Manager's name was Mr.Ismail El Shaal. He was the most helpful Egytian I ever met during our trip in Egypt and seriously the main reason I booked and stay here was becaoz of him after reading all the good comment about him in booking.com review.Somehow or rather it's truly can be a trusted man during in Egypt.Seem I am travelling without my husband,he have helped me all the way from Abu Simbel Trip,Our Felluca and trip to the Nubian Village and also our transfer to Luxor with a stop at Kom Ombo and Edfu.As for me and my kids, the most important for us when we travel in a strange country is a local citizen that we know can be trusted and take care of us.....Marhaba Hotel also is the best choice if you are looking for a strategic location if you want to walk around because all the facilities and the nile river was just at front and the hotel had the best view of the nile.I have nothing bad feeling about the hotel and staff and seriously all of us feel very sad leaving Aswan actually especially my kids because the Mr Ismail really treat my kids like his own grandchildren. If you plan to stay in Aswan pls do not hesitate to stay in this hotel and please remember to look for Mr.Ismail El Shaal....: )
Review 54:The rooms were cold at night and the breakfast was awful. The staff were generally nice but those serving breakfast were bordeline rude.
Review 55:The manager was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. It was a very smart hotel with large rooms, good views and lots of marble.
Review 56:the room is in bad condition. the reception sale the daily trip before we check in. no wifi signal in the room. and power off suddenly during our stay. don't choose this one if u have other choise.
Review 57:It probably needs a bit of refurbishment. The internet was dodgy, and furnishings a bit tired. But the view more than makes up for this. Staff were really helpful with directions.
Review 58:The location was brilliant. Close to souq, restaurants and The Nile River. The view from our room window was sensational. For value for money, location and hotel service, you cant beat this hotel.
Review 59:Our family of four had a very pleasant stay at Marhaba Palace Hotel in Aswan. The location of the hotel is very good, right in the centre of Aswan, close to everything. The roofterrace is a great place to relax and the views of the Nile from there are fantastic. Rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The manager is very caring and made us feel most welcome at Marhaba.
Review 60:There were molds in the fridges. Air conditioner was broken.
Review 61:Owner was friendly. They prepared breakfast pack for the Abu Simbel tourthat starts early in the morning (3;00 am). We can see the Nile riverfrom the balcony.
Review 62:Solid middle class hotel...3 Star. Excellent hotel staff andmanagement...willing to do whatever needed to please. Good, completebreakfast...western and local food. Excellent views on Nile. Immediateaccess to train station and old souk.
Review 63:Stuff is not friendly. Hotel and room are very old and poor. It does not worth its price.
Review 64:Only good location
Review 65:Very attentive staff, excellent location: close to station and Souk, but quiet at the same time. Nice view of Nil
Review 66:Noisy outside hotel room whether windows were open or closed, day and night. Traffic car/motorbike horns continuos.
Review 67:Friendly atmosphere
