Reviews for Hostal La Florida

Review 1:Absence of lift. If we remember correctly, there are some rooms at ground floor. However, 4-5 stairsteps to reach the reception cannot be avoided, in case one has motion problems. The double bed was not too comfortable.

Review 2:It's a beautiful old building with some pieces of antique furniture in the middle of the quiet old village. The owners' couple is extremely kind and hospital. The breakfast is outstanding. Some rooms have a terrace with table and chairs. Perfectly clean. Wi-fi connection working ok.

Review 3:There was nothing except perfection in this hotel -

Review 4:We arrived and were greeted by the Señora de la Casa - with the warmest smile and welcome. She explained everything to us and then showed us to our room - absolutely stunning - it was The best place we have stayed in in Costa Brava so far....and then breakfast! We weren't expecting breakfast at this price and yet it was fantastic - juice, breads, cereals, hams, cheese, pastries...everything and all was accompanied by the warmth and smiles of the family and other staff - it was very very hard to leave. The family have mastered the art of hospitality perfectly :)

Review 5:View to the city was in the room description but our room look to the other house for 2 metres and the balcony was about 20 cm width. The double bed was small for 2 people and was not comfortable, with iron bed frame which creaked with every turn

Review 6:Very beautiful village on Costa Brava. The room was big enough for 4 people. The breakfast was fantastic, the best in family hotels I have ever had. Not a big choice but real quality foods and drinks (only a coffee was from a machine) About 12-15 minute walk to the best beach but can drive to there (no parking fee). Big nice garden to have some chat or eat and play for the children. The hospitality of the family was great. If the bed was comfortable I would return definitely! wifi was good also.

Review 7:We had to travel through many stairs with our suitcases to get to our room, which was pretty uncomfortable. Walls were thin enough to hear people walking in the hall/flushing water in next rooms' toilets.

Review 8:Staff was very friendly and spoke sufficient English. We additionaly bought breakfasts, which were tasty and worth the price.

Review 9:We were in Costa Brava to celebrate our engagement and birthday. The first night we were back at the hostel at 22:40. We were talking and laughing (not yelling), and after a while the next door neighbor banged hard on the wall. I went out and knocked on their door, wanting to ask them why. A woman opened and before I could ask her anything she started yelling at us to be quiet. We went back to our room and were very quiet the rest of the night. The next morning the staff told us they had a complaint. And when we tried to explain our side they kept taking the next door lady’s side and saying “she has a baby”…Well ok she has a baby, but we have a life and we were on vacation. They kept lecturing us in front of other hotel guests. It was very rude. They also accused us for fighting with each other; we were on our engagement trip, why would we be fighting? If you have a hostel in Costa Brava you should expect tourists to come in the summer happy and not have to be in complete silence after 22:00. If they want people to be extra quiet after a certain hour then please put a rule of conduct on your website so people who don’t fit this profile know can chose other accommodation. In any case we felt humiliated so we decided to go to another hotel for the second night.

Review 10:Beautiful building and good location. Excellent for quiet families and nuns.

Review 11:The only thing that I didn't like was the coffee served from a machine at breakfast. I usually love the coffee in spain but this was too mass produced for this unique place.

Review 12:The place has a very relaxed feel. The Hotel is unique and it is in the lovely old town of Llanca. The reception area was very welcoming with sofas and toys so our son was very happy playing at the end of the day whilst we had a gin and tonic. The garden is lovely with a table tennis table for all the family to enjoy. But what makes this place is the very professional family that run it - it was perfect.

Review 13:Having to leave the lovely place.

Review 14:Really lovely staff, everything was immaculate our room was very comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh each morning. It was a delight to be able to sample the kind hospitality of this family run hostal. Car park was secure and position of the hostal was close to the interesting village and for beaches too. The standard was higher than some hotels we've visited.

Review 15:We really liked the family run hotel. It is immaculately clean. The room was well equipeed and large. The breakfast was extensive and tasty. There was plenty of secure parking. The WiFi was free and efficient. The location was only 10/15 mins from the centre.
