Review 1：When I came 15 min before breakfast ends, it was an awkward situation with a woman on the door. I didn't got it what she was trying to said to me with no words by looking on the whatch in the wrist and than back to me, but it was really awkward situation. The double room could have been a little bigger. The breakfast is located outside the hotel building, means zou needs to go out on your way to breakfast. Could be not that comfortable during cold winter.

Review 2：Very friendly stuff on reception. We got a welcome drink (tee with honey) for free and a jar of spreewald cocumbers during checkout.

Review 3：I booked a room for two. The room is hardly suitable for a single person. This room features a width of not more than - 2 meters. One side of the bed is only 30 cm from the toilet, separated by a glass wall. The other side of the bed is under the roof valley ,so on this bed-side the roof height is only 1.2 m. When you try to stand up you just get hit your head from the roof. The location of the hotel is nice. The service makes sense. But, all this has no value while two persons are not able to stay in this room. All of the hotel's second floor has the same rooms. There is also other rooms are sold out before I ordered, I do not know the other rooms so connoisseurs can experience them. The rooms of this type should not be ordered , only if you like to suffer. To me it seems that offering it as room for two is some kind of fraud.

Review 4：unfortunately we had a room above the breakfast area, so things got a little noisy once they started setting up for breakfast.

Review 6：It was impossible to access the internet in our room. The staff tried to help but it was no go. We were using the internet because there was a rail strike and we had to plan our journey home. There was no general hotel dining room. The two restaurants (of the hotel) were used for 'special evenings' and were not open at the same time. The menus were not a la carte and as we spoke almost no German the 'special evenings' were of no interest to us. We had no evening meal at the hotel.

Review 9：We were greeted with CHAMPAGNE when we arrived, and sent home with a complimentary jar of Spreewald pickles made on premises! The room was immaculate and super stylish, ultra quiet, and had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever been on. The grounds were gorgeous and peaceful, and the breakfast was outstanding. Love the "menagerie" decor in the breakfast room...

Review 11：Water bed, arrival gift for my partner's birthday, location both to Lubbenau and to walks near by, helpfulness of staff with couple of items we needed assistance with, quiet location, beautiful surroundings, family run feel

Review 12：We arrived late at night, 9:30 P.M. and the owners weren't there and the hotel was locked. When they came, by luck, they were very nasty and angry at us for arriving late ( even though we tried to explain the we had had car trouble, and even though they had our visa number for security.

Review 13：Although touted as a "wellness" room with a water bed, my husband and I both would have preferred a "normal" bed. Heike did offer to see if another room was available but we had already settled into the room and decided to "rock and roll" the three nights we stayed. Otherwise, could find no other minuses and the waterbed was rated negative only as our personal preference.

Review 14：Upon arrival at Hotel Starick, Heike from Reception, took us under her wing, walked us over to the Fischkasten building where as requested, we had a view of the water and a parking space. She went above and beyond the call of duty with her helpful hints and tips and always addressed me by name! Amazing memory! Cleaning "girls" were extremely good and vextremely grateful for a small gratuity every day even going as far as leaving us written thank yous! Breakfast was wonderful, high quality and bountiful. Room was furnished in a very modern and pleasing manner. Bathroom seemed to be newly renovated in a very modern style also. Everything needed was there. Although there were weddings going on Friday and Saturday nights, we were not bothered by noise even though windows were open. Heike made sure we (and i assume the other guests near the event) had a bottle of bubbly both nights as compensation for the inconvenience. Grounds are romantic with small wooden bridges, plenty of small canals, shade trees including apple and pear trees scattered throughout the property. Would (and will) definitely stay again.
