Reviews for Sara Hotel Aswan
Review 1:A bit far away from train station, need to take a cab.
Review 2:Very helpful staff, helped me solve all questions. Beautiful and clean pool with Nile view, it was amazing! Packed breakfast, excellent service!
Review 3:The location is not was on booking website and about this we have a huge cost involved. And the neighborhood was 'strange'. The cost of the tours that the hotel give to us were more than the others paid. He had problems with the water on the hotel, the Internet didn't worked on the first two days, our door didn't closed, they didn't clean the room properly and forget to give to us towels. We arrange a tour through the hotel and then said that we didn't paid part of the money. Don't have internet on the rooms only on the lobby. We requested to the night receptionist a taxi on the first night and he arrange a 'friend' and charge us the double. Difficulties to sleep as the ac did a huge noise.
Review 4:The food on the restaurant was very good and the attention of the guy who served us. He was the only person of the staff that treat us politely.
Review 5:the entrance of the hotel and its location is a little surprise when you come for the first time. Between poor public houses, nowhere to go by feet. But the view heals this problem :) Disco till 2-3 am as is written here already, is really loud and long.
Review 6:Definitely the view, it is jewel of this hotel. Staff was friendly, cleanliness was OK but had a little issues (carpets). Also hot water was sufficient which is good. Cannot rate the aircondition as we didn¨t need it, but that looked a little problematic.
Review 7:Hotel is extremely noisy. When you switch on air condition you haveimpression of being in turbine house. There is loud music from discoclub which is right under the windows at it stopped at 3:00 A.M. Itrepeated next night even after our complains (and it was not weekendnight). Rooms are very old and beg for repairment. There are not towelsat swimming pool and you are supposed to use those from the room. Staffis not able to get taxi. They have number to one driver and he was notin the city at that time. As hotel is located on the hill with pooraccess and surrounded by buildings under construction one needs to walkat least 20 minutes to get to some street and get taxi. It is veryinconvenient especially with luggage as some roads are unpaved. And atnight it is quite scary between all those abandoned buildings. We werelucky that some man from hotel was willing to drive us otherwise wewould miss the train. And the top of the stay was when they asked us topay one night before departure because there was not cashier at work oncoming day. There is not option to pay with card and they did not haveany change. Zero. Receptionist had to collect money from the staff to beable give us back something like egp 40. I do not believe that staff hadany kind of training. They are quite friendly but do not have developedany professional manners. Hotel is not expensive so we did not expectluxury. But hotel should at least enable guests to sleep, pay withoutobstacles and have contact on basic services such as taxi.
Review 8:They prepared breakfast box for us as we departured for the trip to AbuSimbel very soon in the morning and did not catch up the breakfast. Viewto the Nile is nice but be aware that you are still far away from theriver without access to it from hotel. Thats it.
Review 9:Bathroom is not opening Some Lizards in bathroom Mosquitoes everywhere
Review 10:Nice view on the river Staff of the restaurant
Review 11:Nice pool, friendly and helpful staff, very fair and helped booked tours.
Review 12:Staff not at all helpful
Review 13:The view and the pool
Review 14:The Mosquitoes
Review 15:The staff was Great 100
Review 16:They had very loud music every night from 10pm to 2 am.If you are not an absolute fan of egyptian pop music: stay away!
Review 17:The view was amazing.
Review 18:The hotel is way overpriced for what you get, but that seems to be thenorm in Aswan. Suitable for a budget traveller's standards. 20Egyptian dollar one-way taxi ride if you need town facilities(altho' tours are easily arranged by the helpful staff). Good viewof the Nile but the location is downtown (I.E. one is reluctant to walkthe area at night). Some rooms under renovation. Mosquitoes (but that isthe Nile).
Review 19:The staff (the two Mohammeds and Martha) were exceptionally friendly andhelpful. I can't say that I was the easiest guest to satisfy butthey went out of their way to facilitate my stay in Aswan. The roomshave a beaut view and the pool was inviting.
Review 20:Very old (20-25 years) property and not recommended for longer stay. They run a shuttle service but the location not inviting. We re plannedour visit to reduce days in Aswan only due to this hotel and returned toCairo in overnight train. Hopeless food and $100 for a triple room isway too much for the standard of this hotel.
Review 21:We had to book since nothing else was available in our budget.
Review 22:Not sure it's finished yet. Not finished very well either. There was ahowling draught from a poorly-fittted air con unit, and the curtain railwas not fixed well either.
Review 23:Fantastic view of the Nile and its cataracts
Review 24:Rather run-down and in need of refurbishment inside and out.
Review 25:The staff were hugely helpful and very friendly.
