Reviews for Pyramisa Isis Island Aswan Resort & Spa
Review 1:The hotel is seriously outdated and in need of a complete makeover. While it is kept clean, the style is very 1980s and some of the furniture has seen better days. This could be a fabulous hotel if the interiors were totally redesigned and if it were furnished in a modern style. They also need to get rid of the tacky pictures on the walls.
Review 2:This vast hotel is set on its own island in the Nile close to Aswan city centre. It has two swimming pools and several outdoor terraces. It is surrounded by lush gardens with fantastic views of the Nile and surrounding islands. The hotel ferry to Aswan city centre shuttles in and out fairly regularly.
Review 3:the hotel needs renovation in general and,For some reason they hate putting napkins in public spaces.they insist on serving tiny plates for meals!and
Review 4:Amazing location, magnificent views. Spacious room, reasonable bathroom. Breakfast has variety but quality is not great.
Review 5:I didn't like how my bottom sheet kept coming off the bed every night and how our room wasn't given room service one of the days we stayed there. I thought Sammy the tour man was quite rude in telling my husband that it was illegal to use taxis outside of the hotel arrangements...and I didn't like not being able to get through to the hotel before we arrived, as we were trying to get a pick up arranged. We must have tried 10 times. As with everything in Egypt, we had to haggle for 15 minutes before we got into our taxi from the airport.
Review 6:Being on the River Nile was the best...being able to ride on a falucca sail boat with Captain Mohammed was a real highlight. Breakfast was great and having fresh fruit in our room a real treat. The staff at Pyramisa Island was great. (Be careful to book the Pyramisa "ISLAND" and not the mainland....as I think the Island hotel is a much more memorable and gorgeous experience!
Review 7:We especially enjoyed the swimming pool by the Nil, the silent, and the fact that the entire island, on the Nil, is dedicated to the hotel, with a beautiful garden.
Review 8:Overall experience has been good. The staff's response to requests are quite slow. While they are very courteous and helpful, the service could do with a little speed..
Review 9:Location and ambience are fantastic. Best enjoyed if you are staying 2-3 days; wasted if you are only staying to visit Abu Simbel.
Review 10:Staff unfriendly Shop staff hassled me to purchase in their shops Room was old and not very clean Hotel needs urgent refurbishment, it has come of age The room rate is too expensive for what the facility offers
Review 11:Location Nature Nile view Pool
Review 12:Sadly, the hotel seemed to be running at very low occupancy levels & much was broken, closed down or defunct. The dining room served good breakfasts, but the buffet dinner was very variable in quality. Wifi is virtually non existent: only available in reception, & then only very occasionally, generally cutting out.
Review 13:This huge hotel has a stunning location, on its own tranquil island separated off from the hassle & bustle of Aswan. The views, particularly to the West Bank, are stunning & there are many good quiet spots for bird watching. The staff are exceptional: friendly, accommodating, keen to make your stay enjoyable at every level. The manager was highly visible throughout our stay and regularly greeted us to ask how we were enjoying our stay. There is a regular free shuttle ferry to the mainland, which works very well.
Review 14:The resort apears to have been neglected and notused for some time. We have stayed twice at at this resort and it is very clear that the place have seen better days in the past. Hoop conditions will improve in the future
Review 15:The location is excellent
Review 16:The building, bed, elevators even the credit cards POS machine was not working properly, the hotel needs rennovation immediately
Review 17:The view and partially the staff
Review 18:Run down property, started with check in I requested a one bedroom chalet I been giving a small rooms, old furniture, upon going to the room elevator was not working, shower did not function correct carpet in the room was too old and spotty, staff tries their best but as one of them told me when I asked him why no one smile to the guests he answered over worked under paid, finally upon check out I approach front desk employee named amr asked to check out He looked at his screen and calculate the amount of extra I owed and gave me the number not even asked me how was your stay or thanks he did not even look at my face wired and totally not appricaiatting my business the sad thing I was on this property 10 years ago and I believe owners did not spend a penny to maintain this hotel was totally disappointed

Review 24:I didn't like the house keeping, there wasn't any kind of entertainment for all ages, no kids playing area & it needs more care.
Review 25:I liked the hospitality, perfect place & amazing view.
Review 26:We did not get the room we reserved and paid for. We paid for a large chalet and got a hotel room with 2 SINGLE beds when we are a family of 3. They put a wooden horrible cot in the room to accomodate us. The door to the balcony did not lock and each time you opened it, the door jam fell apart. Many staff asked us for tips--very RUDE!
Review 27:Beautiful views of the Nile Very nice grounds and pool Some staff are very nice Breakfast buffet is delicious
Review 28:* Polite but not professional staff * Plumbery, the water reaches your knees in the tub if you tried to take a shower * No proper amenities in the bathroom; you find wall mounted dispensal for soap and shampoo * Very bad old AC

Review 66:We payed much more than what was mentioned on this website. The problem is still being investigated, so I can't really say whether it's the hotel's or the website's fault!
Review 67:The staff were very friendly and nice, they really made us feel welcomed.
Review 68:Very old need renew , although the hotel is located in a uniquelocation , there is no facilities for night life , I understood thatthis is because of the situation in egypt now , as there is no moreguest in the hotel ,
Review 69:Amazing location in a special island in the nile , staff are helpful andpolite . It was a great experience to stay in such as hotel in themiddle of nile in Aswan the amazing egyption city .
Review 70:Our standard room was looking a bit tired, but for the price it is hard to complain.
Review 71:The hotel is located on Isis Island in the Nile. It has scenic views over the Nile to the city and nice walks around the hotel. One pool was operating while we were there with a restaurant near the pool. It is a short free boat ride to the island with a regular service. Staff were friendly and the price was good. This was my second short stay at the hotel and for the price and location I would return again.
Review 72:Very tired hotel. Imagine it costs a lot to maintain, hence the higher than necessary room rates. Uncomfortable, old beds. Staff in shops are desperate for sales and hassled us. Watch out for salad - don't risk it! One of us missed out on Abu Simbel tour due to eating salad at hotel restaurant.
Review 73:Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Lovely views of Nile. A bit of an oasis.
Review 74:Blankets instead of duvets. No information about room or hotel in rooms. No fresh juice for breakfast. TV had poor reception.
Review 75:Great position with stunning views. Quiet and relaxing. Wonderful swimming pools.Staff friendly.
Review 76:Poor wifi connection only available occasionally in the reception, lack of local information hotel wanted us to book their tours unhelpful otherwise Some Reception staff unhelpful with wifi service Bar staff inconsistnat with their service to certain hotel residents no wine selection local wine expensive and horrible
Review 77:Excellent quiet location, good dinner buffet and breakfast staf in restaurant welcoming and friendly
Review 78:The TV was old (not flat screen) and some of the channels were not clear. The towels need to be laundered with more fresh smelling detergent.
Review 79:The Nile view from the room was beautiful. The island itself is lovely to walk around and enjoy the view and take pictures. Sailing to and from the island was an enjoyment and an added advantage. The room was spacious.
Review 80:The Pyramisa Aswan is an excellent hotel, and we hope to stay there again. In particular, the facilities - rooms, restaurants and pool - are excellent. Although the packed lunch we ordered for our trip to Abu Simbel was very poor, the hotel staff responded fantastically and comprehensively addressed the issue when we complained to them, and in every other respect (before and after this) we had a great time here. In particular, the food in the restaurants was very good and Mr Nasser, Sayed Ali and Mohammed from the restaurant were very helpful.
Review 81:rooms are not clean verw well, the decortion of the room is ugly and seems not finished, There is no hot water all day long, but only in the evening!... in all the hotel there is a smell of cold smoke which make wyou feel hill, food is very very bad, the breakfast buffet is not eatable at all... also as the ferry to go to the city is not very often so sometime i feel as prisoner in this not so big island.
Review 82:the hotel staff was warmed welcomer, the swimming pool was good enought. garden is ok
Review 83:Part of the hotel was closed down because of a lack of guests - this wasunderstandable and environmentally responsible, but it also limited theoffers in the hotel.
Review 84:The location was wonderful and the Nile view fantastic. The room wasclean and the staff very friendly.
Review 85:The Internet is very slow and electricity was shut down without any inform. Buffy is a bit too much charge.
Review 86:Good location away from centre but close to it. Very nice gardening. Room is big enough for three people and good view from balcony. Ferry is very convenient to the centre.
Review 87:Food was expensive, they have you trapped on their island and theycharge more knowing you have no options. Food was good. Internet inlobby only? Is this 1985?
Review 88:The staff was great and the room was very nice
Review 89:Some parts of the hotel could do with some rennovation, but given thatafter the revolution hardly any tourists go to Asswan, it isunderstandable that at this point in time rennovations are not possible.
Review 90:The setting of the hotel in this wonderful garden on the island is justgreat. People were very friendly. A beautiful place to spend a weekend, but we can even imagine staying for much longer.
Review 91:Although the hotel is well located its design is out of character withAswan and the facilities are somewhat outdated and need upgrading suchas the pool area seating and canopies.Dinning room and bar areas. Andsome bedroom fittings. I know Egypt has little money presently but somesmall spending would make a lot of difference. I would stay there again. What happened on the night of Wednesday 4th April with the 1000 oddNubians arriving wanting their island back again ? My flight was withThomas Cook this has been told to them.
Review 92:Gardens were exceptional and well maintained. The round island walk isgood. One also feels safe on the island.Food excellent.
Review 93:nothing like this place... anywhere i've seen. the hotel is on an island in the Nile, access is via a short boat trip (free shuttle every 15 mins 24/7). The grounds are lush and green and abundant with orange trees, flowers, places to sit and be at peace. The areas around the banks of the nile seem as though they haven't changed since Pharonic times, alot of birds and beautiful scenery. the grounds are a pleasure to walk, the hotel even has its own minfarm where they grow the fruits and vegetables served in the restaurants... all organic! The staff are very friendly, service is great, Egypt has a unique charm. Very laid back, just what us westerners need to help us to unwind.
Review 94:People reserving beds by the pool hours before using them. Somerefurbishment needed E.G. balconies need painting, electrics a biterratic , but not really presenting any problems and any faultsimmediately remedied.
Review 95:Beautiful setting with well- tended gardens. Staff helpful in theextreme. Solicitous, efficient and hospitable. Food good. Ferry alwaysavailable when needed and no tips solicited, although we tipped whenhelp given with luggage. A lovely place for a relaxing stay.
Review 96:The rooms were dated and there is some upgrades needed especialy withthe furniture. The shop keepers need to let you look without trying toforce you to buy. I went to the chemist to get some headache tablets andI was offered Vaigra!!!! I had to move rooms twice before I got the roomI booked. They said they did not read the booking.....poor excuse! I wasalso charged 25$ for dinner instead of 16$ as shown on the web site. Iwas refunded, but it should not happen. Definitely need to inform gueststo take Mosquito cream for this hotel...it was a problem and if yousuffer from this, (as I do), then it can make the stay veryuncomfortable! Unfortunately in Egypt generally you will experience alot of hassle from SELLERS.....Nothing to do with hotel just a generalcomment as it is a big problem for tourists!
Review 97:The hotel is in a great location and has good facilities on the island. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. All the staff werefriendly and helpfull, (sometimes trying to hard)!

Review 99:Beautiful location, attractive pool and gardens. Friendly attentivestaff. Evening buffet good.
Review 100:We were placed in a twin room although we requested a double and therewas no effort to accomodate us. They were unhelpful and not knowledgableabout the local facilities. The room was more 3 star than 5 although therest of the facilities were proberably 5 star very disappointed with thehotel for the amount of money we paid
Review 101:The location was wonderful and the free shuttle off the island 24 hours
Review 102:We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere on the island away from the noise andbustle of Aswan. The ferry service to and from the island operated every15 minutes and was a scenic journey in itself, sailing past the OldCataract Hotel of Agatha Christie fame. The lti Pyramisa Isis IslandHotel is a quality hotel with excellent service and meals. Our room wasa good size and with a balcony overlooking the West Bank of the NileRiver. Recommended.
