Reviews for Monte Carlo
Review 1:Smell of smoking in the facility. Dust in the vents if allergy pron. I could not stop coughing at night. Shower was week. no coffee or tea in the room. the table lamps were just 2 in the room and did not have plugs to plug in for recharging phones and laptops.
Review 2:pretty expensive compared to some other casinos...stayed where everyone else stayed though
Review 3:restaurants and shops on the lower floor.....closeness to other casinos
Review 4:It was a very dated hotel. They didn't even have a coffee maker inside the "spa suite" we had booked, and further, I tripped on a seam in the hallway carpet just outside of our door and told the staff, but nothing appeared to have been done.
Review 5:Family and friends that were staying nearby. Fun being down on New Years Eve
Review 6:Too big emphasis on various helping personnel (like taxi-whistle guy, luggage-guy, etc., etc.) and too few really needed thing to settle - no breakfast included; food court on the same area as casino (cigarrette smoke is being felt everywhere).
Review 7:Staff is excellent! Location is very good! Rooms are cosy and well equipped!
Review 8:Staff in casino were not helpful at both casino bars and in gift shop we paid 366 for a basic room no free breakfast or no specials. Construction woke us up at 4:30am no information was given at check-in about any thing going on .the buffet was poor value who can eat 18dollars worth of food for breakfast you couldn't even see what it looked like prior to purchase.I was so disappointed in my total experience I will likely never return. I don't even care that I spent money on gambling. The only person who was helpful were the cocktail waitresses.
Review 9:Nothing poor value for a basic room
Review 10:The MC has a bit of an old school vibe, which we really liked! It's interiors haven't been updated to be the usual darkness in contemporary hotel design. It has excellent facilities, The Pub, Diablo, Yusho for Ramen. We patronised each of these more than once.
Review 11:The check in time was ridiculous. My plane was delayed so I got to the Monte Carlo at 2:30 AM and I was only able to get into the room after getting my key at 4AM. This is an hour and a half due to the fact that there were only 2 people working to check people in.
Review 12:I liked the location of the Monte Carlo and how easy it was to get to and from the convention center.
Review 13:I paid for the strip view, during booking or check in no one seemed to bring up that I was paying extra to look at the hotel's construction. We've stayed at Monte before, loved it, made a point to make us stay there again. Our room had beat up furniture and the carpet was ripped in hall. Felt like I over paid and there wasn't much I could do about it. Our flight arrived early, before check in, which our first round of trying to check in the front desk attendant was going to charge us extra to check in and didn't even bother to check if there were rooms already available. Flustered I got out of line, then got back in and the next attendant searched and was able to get us all rooms on the same floor and txt when the ones that were not ready became available. Went to the buffet... this is not the buffet you want to go to, poor selection, save yourself the disappointment and do not go to the buffet. Mixed emotions on this one. Like I said, always loved the hotel before, but will most likely shy away in the future.
Review 14:Clean rooms & decent strip location
Review 15:The hotel rooms are a 'little tired' and could do with refurbishment. As non-smokers we found the hotel Casino very smokey. Unfortunately during our stay there were signicant building works to the outside of the hotel which were noisy - starting at 7am.
Review 16:The staff were great and the room was a good size. Location is very central and within walking distance of many other hotels, bars, restaurants and attractions.
Review 17:Concierge was rude! Bed was uncomfortable. Amenities were lacking--no fridge, no convenient outlets. Room service menu could be better.
Review 18:Casino location was ideal. Parking was convenient. Free wifi was good.
Review 19:The room need more update we pay more then what you offer.. I didn't like that the jacuzzi was not open late.. You don't have covers in the bed.
Review 20:Customer service
Review 21:It was a bit rough to go into the hotel due to the construction a lot of traffic at times and the construction started somewhat early.
Review 22:Enjoyed the location of the hotel, close to many other places walking distance. The staff was nice and helpful. It was clean overall.
Review 23:The room was ok. I know it's Las Vegas but it would have been nice to have a clock and mini fridge in the room. There was only one outlet that was easily accessible to charge our phones, but they had to lay on the floor because it wasn't near a table.
Review 24:The location was pretty good but there was currently a bit of construction around the hotel.
Review 25:No coffee maker in room, no microwave, no frig. Ventilation/air conditioning very poor. No air vent/circulation fan in bathroom. Expected more for the price we paid.
Review 26:The beds were extremely comfortable. We liked the convenience of the food court.
Review 27:The rooms are in need of an update and need some color. Rooms were a bit noisy and there was no mini fridge or coffee maker which is not always a must but convenient when you have access to them. For the price of the room i was suprised there wasnt any of these amenities. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom and there was black mold underneath. More than likely will not be staying here again, but its more interesting staying in different hotels in vegas anyway:)
Review 28:Location is great. Within walking distance to all the popular locations and casinos.
Review 29:I really liked that we didn't have to wait long to check in, even though we got there at peak hours. The bed was comfy and we had a pretty nice view.
Review 30:Check-in was slow, cigarette smell from the Casino in the elevators and common areas, old hotel, rooms show wear and tear, construction around the hotel making it difficult to get around, traffic is horrible around this area.
Review 31:Great location, amenities, nice view from upper floors
Review 32:Smoking smell in the lobby & casino area. Evening Buffet- food was in low level... thats the reason tgere was no line
Review 33:Location . Staff was very helpfull
Review 34:Although this hotel is advertised as non-smoking, we ended up in a smoker room. After insisting, we were able to change the room to a lower standard. Needs aface-lift. There are better hotelsfor tbe same money
Review 35:Great location on the Strip;
Review 36:I've been staying at the Monte Carlo for 18 years. Way over priced this year. The $30/day extra fee is ridiculous. Carpet on 29th floor is filthy. Will not be back. Very disappointing.
Review 37:Love the location and food selection. Like the feel of a smaller hotel rather than the large ones.
Review 38:Definitely the $30 "Resort Fee" kind of a scam, rooms are super noisy can hear the neighbors talking at all times of the night.
Review 39:Only stayed here because my parents did and they did not know any better...
Review 40:hair left in bathtub was turnoff. Hefty resort fee
Review 41:convenience of being on main strip in las vegas. fast housekeeping service I did not use the facilities so I do not know about them.
Review 42:Room.wasnt cleaned. They didn't even vacuumed. I had to call the house keeping to come and clean the room again. Bed sheets were old and had rip here.and there. Maybe its time to do some upgrade!!! Also there was construction in the front of the hotel so lots of traffic.
Review 43:Location was great. Staffs were very friendly. Facility had food court and many convenient stores near by or inside.
Review 44:I requested a king size bed but because I arrived at 6pm I got a queen bed at the end of the hall, my door was next to the stair case! I booked my room in September!!!!!
Review 45:The location of the hotel
Review 46:Casino is a little bit old fashioned and there are other Casinos with better paybacks. Long lines at check in. Buffet restaurant at Monte Carlo isnt good.
Review 47:nice room, good location directly at the Strip.
Review 48:The WIFI was slow in our room but very fast in the lobby.
Review 49:Great hotel close to the strip with a big casino and lot of resturants nearby. You can take the tram to Adria and Bellagio for free. The rooms are big and very nice, have everything you need.
Review 50:Couldn't sleep the first night due to room beside us with kids screaming at 1 am. Wish there was a coffee pot in the room. Drinks at the bar were pricey. Fees were expensive
Review 51:The food court was great for a quick coffee in the morning. The tram is great
Review 52:The towels smelled like chlorine.
Review 53:The hotel rooms are a little older, but it's still very clean inside. The crowd and the staff in this casino are very pleasant. I also like how this hotel has a team that connects to Ballagio and Aria. It's really helpful, especially when traveling with the family.
Review 54:There is construction going on and my room overlooked it, so being woken up by jackhammers at 6:30am was no fun, but shutting the drapes blocked out most of the noise. Plus, once that construction is done, the resort will be that much cooler.
Review 55:Clean, comfortable, really good location on the strip. I was able to check in 2 hours early without an extra charge. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly and helpful. Bed was like a could.
Review 56:We used the shower feature but the tub did not drain properly.
Review 57:The room was spacious. We had a great view of the Strip. Great restaurants close by. Staff was very friendly. Ease of checkout.
Review 58:First, we had cockroaches in our suite. I complained to the front desk and they did nothing for us. Second the room was dirty and the heater fan sounded like a helicopter was in our room. Again the front desk did nothing to remedy or compensate the issue. Third, the hotel removed all coffee makers from the hotel 2 months ago. I asked if we could get coffee delivered and was told a 6 cup pot was $15 plus $5 per person in the room upon delivery... Which would have made it a $35 pot of coffee.
Review 59:Tim the bartender in the lobby makes a great Bloody Mary. Best part of our trip!
Review 60:Enjoyed the free "craps" class I attended. Only thing I wouldrecommend, is that after learning - that a few "free" practiceruns could be done -- to allow participants in the class to apply theknowledge learned. Either that or a table opened at a lower minimum bet.Excellent teacher of the class.
Review 61:the spa tub was dirty, had to ask to have it cleaned. for a deluxe spa king room, they were located right outside elevators and it was quite noisy at night with people getting off elevator.
Review 62:nice hotel and casino and located well
Review 63:Hard to excess the hotel as well as get out by auto, there is no clear entrance. No bedspreads on the beds. Gaming machines are right on top of each other, to crowded. The hotel is generally crowded.
Review 64:Staff was excellent overall
Review 65:The spa tub had no jacuzzi jets, disappointing. The room had no microwave or coffee maker! What kind of sick person takes the coffee makers out of rooms? Obviously they have never seen a Seattlite without their morning joe! In the spa room there should be robes for use while in the room.
Review 66:I loved the cleanliness of the room and property. The fact there were so many food options nearby in the hotel was a major plus also. The view of the skyline, at night, on the 22nd floor from our bathtub was amazing enough to make it a ritual bath every night!
Review 67:Would be nice if breakfast was included Downstairs facilities smell very badly of cigarette smoke.
Review 68:Staff were very friendly Beautiful rooms and views Clean Nice bathroom Extensive room service menu Quiet
Review 69:The problem with the hotel is that there are construction works going on outside to attach a new theatre to the hotel. The construction site runs from 6am to 4am and is loud in any strip facing room (it can be heard in other rooms - we were finally changed rooms). When i went to speak to reception about this, Iwas told that the site stopped at 2am. I enquired why this was not made known prior to booking as i would have booked elsewhere, and I was told by staff that they do not make this public knowledge as no one would book. I felt this misleading and if a nights sleep is important, i would book elsewhere until construction is complete.
Review 70:The room was clean, the staff good and the location fantastic, as were the facilities.
Review 71:N/A
Review 72:How friendly front desk was! My room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable with many pillows and a pillow specifically for your neck. Great stay at the Monte Carlo?
Review 73:PLEASE let people check in early. Due to circumstances we arrived at 1:15 am day of check in and had to pay $140 for 6 hours!! Very upset!!
Review 74:comfy and convenient!
Review 75:When we got into our room we found big stain on both beds blankets, AC was very noisy and would not shut off when turning the switch was turned off.
Review 76:Nothing.
Review 77:The hotel was very dated, dark, drab, smelly, smokey, and the dealers were very cranky and unfriendly. The check in queue was absurdly long and the front desk grossly understaffed. The staff they did have were unaccommodating and not helpful. The buffet was inedible... food was disgusting and overpriced for what it was. Not sure how it is even adding up to a 3.3 rating... would give it a 1.0. Would not return... too many other good choices to stay at a bad hotel in Vegas.
Review 78:Location on the strip and size of rooms was decent. The pizza shop at the front of the casino was good... fresh wood oven.
Review 79:More than 30 minute wait for check-in at 1am. Hotel is very misleading about its "Spa Access" which is actually not free and requires $25. Pool is only open til 4 or 5pm? They have heated pools which means I should be allowed to swim after 5pm, even in winter. Fitness centre closes at 7pm / 8pm which is also ridiculous. It should be 24 hour! The casino loyalty program is poor compared to others around the world: It includes no freebies or real incentives to join other than just earning points, and there is no fancy machine to check your points / comps: you have to queue in a line just to see if you can get a free buffet etc. The inside of my room felt slightly dated, but not bad.
Review 80:Great location. Free wireless, although keeps asking me to re-activate every few minutes.
Review 81:The inside of the rooms are on the 90s style (works and is clean but could be more modern). If a similar price you may find something newer and also well located
Review 82:Good location to walk to everywhere on the strip and very firendly staff!
Review 83:We stayed only one night and went to the Jockey Club Suites wished we would have stayed our entire visit at the Minte Carlo!
Review 84:Convienent location! Great room, very nice, cool view! Super location close to everything And the train/light rail to other hotels!
Review 85:However, the lighting in the room was extremely poor (not conducive to reading), there could have been more towels and I had to call for laundry bags. Also felt the resort fee and early check-in charges were means to pad the bill without raising the price of the room.
Review 86:The location is great and the staff were helpful.
Review 87:When we got there late At night, the room was dirty so we had to be switched to another room, but they didn't even offer us an upgrade or anything but I know if I would have been nasty about it, they would have. I just wish we were a little more appreciated as guests
Review 88:Location was good, staff was nice, we had a food court, the rates were fair.
Review 89:Room was clean and comfortable but not luxurious. All rooms are non-smoking.
Review 90:Location was wonderful. We were able to walk so many places. The casino was lively.
Review 91:Expensive due to convention rates. Long walk into hotel from the street.Bars of soap were not good. Not a good view from the room for a $250 pernight hotel.
Review 92:Nothing exceptional
Review 93:Nothing. The only possible negative would be that the building is not brand new, thus some things look a bit dated.
Review 94:Clean facilities, clean room, good service. Great bed and pillows! A beautiful building.
Review 95:Some hotel areas had a lot of garbage on the floors and no one was taking care of it. As well, some walls on the the 27th floor had their walls pretty dirty with black marks all over the place.
Review 96:The hotel staffs were not so helpful nor welcoming. For 2 consecutive nights my brother found bedbugs! The cleaners didn't even wash the glasses. Dirty hotel!
Review 97:The only thing i like is the location, nothing more.
Review 98:We went with 3 other couples....All asked for a king bed.... We all received rooms with 2 queens.... Not sure if the king bed option even exists....
Review 99:Liked the proximity to the strip and other shops.
Review 100:Room was dated and needs a major face lift.Tile in bathroom has mildew stains around tub. Beds weren't comfortable. I was on the 22nd floor and the smell of cigarette smoke was coming into my room. I had to put towels at the door bottoms to keep it out.
Review 101:Location was great. Casino was nice and the food was good.
Review 102:Only complaint I had was that one of the check in staff was a little rude. We asked for an early check in at 8:00 am and She told us to comeback to check in at 9:00am but started checking people in early shortly after us
Review 103:There wasn't much to dislike. We had a really good stay.
Review 104:Very kind staff, didn't charge for receiving our Amazon packages and for our late check out (3pm). The hotel has a lot of activities, a good food court, parking and attractions. The location is great! There was a big construction (arena of shows) right by the side, but the sound wasn't loud.
Review 105:The staff was polite, but didn't seem engaged. Couldn't act with autonomy, and relied on supervisors for even minor things. Didn't tell us about mlife points during checkin. Spent hours getting it sorted out, but we couldn't earn any points for all the gambling, dining etc. Lack of co-ordination between partner hotels.
Review 106:Great location. Right on the strip, and central to all the casinos. The room was clean, and amenities were adequate.
Review 107:I had read other reviews about the hotel decor getting a little dated. While it is true the hallways and rooms could use some sprucing up, it was clean and the room was quiet (although I did stay there on a Monday night in November). The hotel lobby area is nice however.
Review 108:Check-in staff were very friendly. The location is close to a lot of things on the southern end of the strip.
Review 109:Old facility, water valve tub is old and waste of water. No refrigerator, no coffee, no hot water available. Can't believe it's a 4 stars hotel
Review 110:Convenient to commute on the strip.
Review 111:The location was great and you didn't even need to leave the building if you didn't want to. You have a casino, shopping and good restaurants. I really liked the food court with the Starbucks.
Review 112:Beds are very uncomfortable. We stayed on the 19th floor and asked to be moved to another room due to the stale smell of smoke masked by air fragrance.
Review 113:Location
Review 114:The check in process sucks. It was horribly handled and a complete fiasco. There is a bank of counter agents at the concierge desk, another bank for check outs and still another for check in. The check in people are forced to wait until their bank of agents help the check out agents finish. So, instead of adding additional agents they force the check in people to wait. Also, I witnessed a confrontation at the dice table between the pit boss and a player. This was handled very unprofessionally. I am not aware of the who was right or wrong but I do know that this could have been handled in a more professional and respectful manner.
Review 115:The entire facility was very nice. The casino was pleasant and the restaurants and bars exceeded our expectations.
Review 116:Walls are slightly thin and can hear or wake neighbors. Shower water temperature took a long time to become heated (4-5 mins) and so I would turn on the shower and walk off to do something, only to return and find the shower still has not heated up yet - which worries me about wasting water levels.
Review 117:Very spacious rooms, living room, cupboard tv and view of the strip. The beds are very comfortable yet supportive of my back. McDonalds is open 24/7. City center tram provides quick and easy transport between this casino and Aria and Bellagio.
Review 118:We had to move room coz of water problem. And we found furnishing were so worn out in both rooms. Lunch buffet was one of the worst we ever had in casinos (more so in LV) for the price as other hotels.
Review 119:Location and friendly, helpful staff
Review 120:Finding the way in at night. (We know you have no control over construction) Once it's all completed, nice location on the strip.
Review 121:Staff was above par. Very friendly and personal. From front desk to valet to bellman, no one dropped the ball for customer service
Review 122:the CSR which handled our check-out was not friendly at all; she made a mistake in checking us out and not even apologize. We felt like she was so ready to get rid of us; it was not even busy because it was an early check-out, need to catch our plane back to Canada
Review 123:location was great and tram was easily accessible from the hotel which was a plus. parking was free unlike other hotels in the east coast which charges extra for parking. the CS manager on duty (check-in) was really good - he made sure to add more personnel when the line up was building-up. kudos...
Review 124:problems with check in ( credit card payment machine was not working), 20'mins to check in and prices Are not clear (30$ fee a day???),'taxes exluded..why don't give a final price to The customer? Shady
Review 125:Position
Review 126:In the time we spent in the casino, we were only offered one drink. Usually used to more frequency of cocktail waitresses.
Review 127:The room was great! Very clean and spacious with a nice view. The Monte Carlo is a beautiful hotel and casino and has everything I was looking for. Made our wedding anniversary a memorable one.
Review 128:Upper delux room was old door on nightstand wouldn't stay closed dont understand delux part. It was our fifty wedding expected better. Construction a pain food court dirty.
Review 129:Everything was great especially the beds! They were super comfy and the staff was excellent from the moment we checked in to the bell boy that took our luggage and valet service! Will definitely be back!
Review 130:Room was not clean..carpet dirty and old..found hair in the bathroom floor and tub. Fixture were old and in need of repair, the room appeared to be in standard of a motel 6 than of a nice hotel on the strip.
Review 131:Location only
Review 132:The room's were a little outdated, and it lacked a lot of features that I usually see in hotels in Vegas.
Review 133:The spa was amazing, and I wish I could have spent more time there. I've seen some really bad ones, and I have seen a couple more that were better, but, for the value, the spa at Monte Carlo was definitely worth it.
Review 134:Construction (and the attendant sounds) began early. A coffee pot in the room would have been a huge help!
Review 135:Great location, friendly staff, and clean and comfortable room.
Review 136:The hotel is rebuilding its theater .. around the clock .. and it is noisy. I could see the machines chewing up the debris and metal outside my window. And I could hear them at 2am. Also, trying to find someone to break a 5 dollar bill into some 1s to tip the valet was irritatingly a big deal. In Vegas? Seriously?
Review 137:The hotel is reasonably priced, clean, on the strip, and the room was a bit boring but fine. Nothing really special. Certain staff members were very accommodating (the ones who typically get tips) but others were not very helpful at all.
Review 138:Hotel is old and the rooms are so-so...needs to be upgraded....in a BIG way!!
Review 139:Staff is excellent-really professional-decent selection of restaurants-location is probably this hotel's best attribute....
Review 140:I did not have a bad experience during my stay but the room was very small and in my opinion no better than a quality inn type of room. In addition the bed was way too soft. I was hurting the next day. Not worth the money for a Wednesday stay 90 bucks!
Review 141:The only thing I liked about my stay was the ease of checkout.
