Reviews for Aparthotel Puerto Plata

Review 1:nothing really everything was ok only gripe was we would have been better with 1 bedroom apartment that's all

Review 2:pool not overcrowded no rush for poolside beds and shop facilities on site

Review 3:Hotel is quite high up but most of the hotels are. Great clean comfortable room and the staff were very pleasant especially Oscar on reception he was lovely. Would stay here again and i would recommend it to friends

Review 4:There was limited parking of about 10 spaces if these were not available there was literally nowhere to park. The hotel being high up the mountain warranted a car but there was absolutely nowhere within walking distance to park it.

Review 5:for such a popular choice for Irish holidays we should have basics like a microwave and hairdryer. For older couples who cannot afford to dine out often a microwave is an essential with only two rings for cooking. We have requested above for many years,

Review 6:Happy hour. My apt by the pool.

Review 7:Enjoyed our stay. We went for the first week of June, and unfortunately the shop, restaurant & bar weren't open so that was a bit of a let down. By the end of the week it started to pick up and they opened the shop.

Review 8:No bad experience!

Review 9:We had a garden apartment and it will be the only way I go from now on there. Rooms were gorgeous and bright and not old fashioned. Value for money!

Review 10:Being mature, arriving late at night with luggage and not being able to park to unload. Only stayed a night. Definitely wouldn't stay a fortnight when having to carry shopping etc

Review 11:Liked the grounds. Layout rather complicated

Review 12:Dirty rooms . poor location. Very noisy . Our room was above reception and noise was extreme. Room was infested with ants we left a day early and booked another hotel.

Review 13:I only have one thing i didnt like and that was the woman on reception i dont know her name but she has brown curly hair and she wears dark rimmed glasses she was so rude not just to us but to everyone,if this could be addressed i would appriciate it tank you Anne from Dublin!!!

Review 14:I thought the bar staff were amazeing, the cleaning lady was so nice i liked my whole stay in these apartments the food and drinks were great!!!! Tanks Anne from Dublin!!!

Review 15:I didn't like how the pool got so packed with different people who weren't staying in the hotel at the weekend as anyone cud walk in whenever they wished. It was hard to get a spot by the pool at these times.

Review 16:Loved the location, pool, the view from our balcony. The overall atmosphere was just very nice and would definitely come back!

Review 17:Nothing

Review 18:Good location and nice clean hotel

Review 19:every thing about the apartments was excellent .couldn't ask for better

Review 20:Everything, the staff so helpful and friendly, and the view

Review 21:view from balkony, large apartment. friendly stuff.

Review 22:how well there kept, the view outstanding, location brill

Review 23:Clean room and hardly any disturbanbance from other visitors. Cooperative reception.

Review 24:The spiders in the bathroom.

Review 25:The pool, the terrace bar, the beds and the view from our apartment.

Review 26:The Vista Grill Restaurant was closed (we knew this in January as George the manager of it had told us they close end April-October)...food is amazing there!

Review 27:The swimming pool was fantastic! My 4 1/2yr old loved it that the shallow end was big plenty of space to swim & play! Diego & Paul in the Pool bar were brilliant. So friendly, welcoming & great with our daughter! Food was lovely in the Pool Bar also.Girls in the shop were very nice too.We were over in January & couldn't wait to get back over for this trip...

Review 28:dirty laundry in room when we arrrived, very noisy where our aprtment was situated, could hear bin removals early hours of morning, glass smashing, a coulpe of drunken arguments on one evening , quite a lot of noise disturbance overall. very basic, bit tatty overall but very friendly staff for sure, very nice people who work there

Review 29:Huge, anonymous hotel complex. No coffee kettle (mocca) in the kitchen. Our TV set did not function properly and nobody came to fix it. Eventually I fixed it myself. You only get about 5 TV channels included in the price. Wi-Fi costs a lot!

Review 30:Stayed 2 nights. Spacious room with a small terrace and nice view on the valley&sea. Room quite well equiped with new furniture and kitchen stuff. We didn't use the pool, but if somebody likes this kind of pass-time, he would probably be satisfied. After 2 weeks in Gran Canaria&Tenerife we decided that this was the best place we got.

Review 31:The fact that we booked a room with a private balcony with sea view, and we didn't get it. We got something worse instead and when we asked for a room change additional 30 euros were asked. We had a visit from 2 giant cockroaches

Review 32:Good location Facilities Comfort

Review 33:while going out by tax it's not possible to find one unlease you call the company and wait for a time.

Review 34:I like the clean of the room ,facilities and locations, you can go around the city in puerto on foot for shopping Centers or around .

Review 35:I didn't like the town Puerto Rico. It's just a small place with a pile of big white buildings and a (not so beautiful) beach with thousands of sunbeds for rent. The hotel and the room is ok, but you do feel a bit trapped because there are so many buildings. Happy it was just for one day/ night. Reception is a bit hard to find.

Review 36:The lack of things to actually do in the hotel. The minimart closed at 14.00pm the bar/grill room closed at 19.00pm and that was it on the third night my husband and i went down for a drink about 20.30pm and the place was deserted it was a real disappointment as we as a couple did not frequent the centre below we would have preferred some entertainment even if it was only the bar with some music playing. It would also have been nice while lying at the pool to listen to some music at one stage i was going to play my own music (quietly) but decided against it even though i am an avid reader it would have been nice to have background music. Overall my experience was very nice and i will probably visit again it would be nice to have some of the things that they adverise going on. We were told the reason eveything was closed was because it was not the peak season very unfair to the rest of the clients who still paid for their holiday expecting there to be some life in the evening or by the pool, if they are closing half the place down in the month of september they should let people know. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give you my views

Review 37:I thought the staff were very nice esp antonio in the bar/grill i liked the mix of guest that stayed there young couples, mature couples, singles and children and ofcourse the pool was a very good size.

Review 38:At the top of the hill and a long way to shops and beach. Overpriced for the standard of accommodation. However, each apartment is privately-owned and so there is no standard room; each has been fitted out individually by its owner.

Review 39:Good onsite facilities, including shop. They need to be there as it's a long way to alternatives. Nice size pool and very good pool bar with free wifi and unforgettable happy hour. Big sun terrace that gets plenty of sun.

Review 40:The sun loungers were not the most comfortable I have ever come across.

Review 41:Puerto Plata Aparthotel is basic but it's location is perfect and the facilities are perfectly adequate for a short break in the sun. All the rooms have a sea view of varying degrees. We stayed in block A and so had a side sea view.

Review 42:The walk back up hill (although taxis are €2-3) well worth it.

Review 43:Good onsite facilities, restaurant was lovely. Not too far to walk down to main area.

Review 44:Beds are too small and narrow, even for slim people Views at 30.000 apartment blocks

Review 45:Staff (Yolanda) nice and helpful Quiet neighbours

Review 46:Basic apartments but perfectly situated for access to Puerto Rico centre. Very clean and surprisingly peaceful.Excellent value for money.

Review 47:Could do with up dating all round

Review 48:good and resonable priced appartment in a larger appartment house, yet very silent and with a wonderful view over the bay

Review 49:outside of building could do with a tidy up

Review 50:clean functional basic accommodation handy for the bus station and town

Review 51:I loved everything about the place from the staff to how clean it was kept
