Review 1：Sleeping and bed comfort, really bad. The stairs, should be made clear how long and steep they are. General usability of the apartments, simple things like where to hang towels and put stuff etc or being able to shut a door to the restroom for privacy.

Review 16：The bathroom 'door' is a swinging shutter with no lock and doesn't stay shut. The wifi is practically nonexistent. Parasols around the pool are only for decoration, at no point during the day can they be used for shade as they are too tall and do not bend or adjust to block the sun.

Location was perfect, shops restaurants and bars all in walking distance and just enough for a complete relaxing holiday! We stayed in an apartment right on the pool side and i can safely say when I return I will request this again! It was perfect as there are a lot of steps if you don't get a pool side apartment!

Review 29：Unfortunately due the layout of Puerto Rico it's inevitable that there will be a certain amount of steps, and we knew this when booking - it's 220 odd steps up to the apartments and then further steps at the property. The alternative is a windy road up that you would need a car for, so be prepared. The pricing of breakfast was a bit steep, as is the on-site shop - best to brave the steps to the Super Dino supermarket on the first day and stock up.

Review 42：I loved every minute and we will definitely be back. The staff were above and beyond and would help with anything you needed. The apartments were spotless and cleaned everyday. Walking distance from everything with a supermarket just at the bottom of the steps. Cannot wait to return!

Review 43：Our bathroom had a horrible smell coming from what we thought was from the drains on our first day. Spoke to reception and the cleaner who came just left us an air fresher. When infact the smell was from the used and dirty toilet bush and the wall beside the toilet stank of stale urine. It would of been best cleaned properly rather than leave us with an air freshner as we had to clean the toilet area and remove the brush ourselves. Unfortunately the cleaner spoke and understood little English, but was very pleasant. The shower fittings were also loose and the bathroom could of done with the bath and silicone being properly cleaned or replaced as it was black. You need to be fit to stay here with the 140 odd steps to get to and from the hotel, but taxis from the town centre are only like €3.

Review 48：Requested a double bed however got 2 twin beds joint together these did not stay together and moved around and made an awful lot of noise when turning in the night, the bathroom has no privacy as the door is a shutter... the shower also flooded the entire bathroom :( however these small issues did not get us down :)

Review 49：The staff were really friendly and all the apartments are beautiful and clean. The pool area and the chill out area with the Eco Shower are lovely. The apartment was of a very high standard anything you require is supplied and if it is not it is only a call to reception away. There are no fights for a sunbed at the pool and you do not even need to get up early to reserve as the rule at the pool is if someone has reserved a bed and has not used it their towels will be removed and you can use these beds I thought this was a very fair idea! (There were always empty beds at the pool gone 2pm anyway) Lovely atmosphere the BBQ on a Friday was deliscious a lot better than any other food in Puerto Rico. Could not fault the service we encountered A*.

Review 50：It was my birthday during my stay, and on the morning the staff sent a lovely birthday card and fresh cake with happy birthday on it to mark the occasion to our apartment and it was a really lovely gesture. The staff made a note of my birthday from my passport on checking in and it was a total surprise on the day.

Amazing location, view and good cafe at the hotel where you can have tasty and value for money lunch and breakfast. There are everything you needed in the room. And if needed you can use laundry at the hotel and it was very good for us as we travelled with a baby.

Review 57：Our daughters were in the pool and left the sun loungers unattended and the Lifeguard came and removed our towels and the reason he gave for this was that they were not being used and that there were so many people.... I wouldn’t mind but we are a family of 5 and only put towels on 2 sun loungers each day. We are regular visitors to Puerto Rico (this was our second visit to the Marina Bayview) and have never experienced this at any Hotel we have stayed in and i have to say this has put me off booking the Marina Bayview for next year.

Review 63：Liked being in the apartment right beside the pool. It felt like I was in a villa. No one bothered you. You were able to lie in the sun beds right outside your apartment, leave your apartment door open and felt safe. Shop within the complex but it was close to all amenities. If you wanted a taxi, the reception rings you one and its there in a few minutes.

Review 64：The majority of resturants outside the hotel charge quite a lot for very average food. If you're expecting to mix with any locals and talk in the culture then I don't think gran canaria is for you. Very much Brits abroad - which is totally fine for a week in the sun, which is what we went for.

Review 65：We had great weather for the week we were in gran canaria, but felt that if we hadn't there wouldn't have been much to do. There are a few good restaurants (check trip advisor) nearby, and the beach that's 20 mins walk away is most definitely worth it. Hotel food that we did eat was good, and happy hour for a few beers at 5pm is always welcome. On site supermarket was good for stocking up on supplies too.

Would recommend a sea view balcony apartment:) Pool area was nice and chilled with plenty of beds and pool was nice and warm. Was only a short walk to the harbour about 10 minutes and beach where there were plenty of lovely restaurants over looking the beach and harbour. Would definitely recommend for couples:)

Review 69：The journey up to the property on foot is challenging but necessary for the views. The slit level apartments are compact with minimal utensils and storage. Additional blankets or duvets would have been useful. Not having the option of late check out was dissapointing.

Review 78：Good location, 15 mins walk from bus station, 5-10 mins walk to restaurant and supermarket, and 10 mins walk to Puerto Rico Beach. The apartment is big, clean, and fully equipped with kitchen utensils so self-catering and cooking is very much convenient. The balcony is spacious allowing us to enjoy sunbathing, chillaxing, and overlooking a beautiful view of the bay. The receptionists are helpful, polite and friendly. We will choose Marina Bayview again for our next visit!!

Close to marina for easy access to ferries to other beaches and ports.

Review 93：The complex was in a quieter part of Puerto Rica but within easy access to nice restaurants and the town. It was clean and the staff could not have done more. We had a few ants at one point and that was dealt with successfully within 30 minutes! I could not recommend it highly enough. The only thing to consider if you are not as mobile as we are is that there are a lot of steps down and then up from the local restaurants and the town - but did not really effect us at all.

Review 94：All those steps. We are a reasonably fit couple but those steps back up to the hotel (133 i think) are a killer. The hardware in the room was a bit shabby. Loose taps etc. Couldn't get wifi to work properly, even after receptionist tried to explain in broken english. Don't think our wifi box worked at all.

Review 102：The jacuzzi was advertised as a hot tub on booking.com but there was something wrong with the element and the temperature never went above 26 degrees centigrade which was a bit nippy for November despite having glorious weather. Also while we were there they seemed to have a problem with the sewers and at times there was a rather unpleasant smell in the toilet and bathroom. We did not like the main resort of Puerto Rico very much as very commercial. However, there were nice restaurants close by so we did not feel the need to venture far away from the marina area which suited us.

Review 103：The entire hotel complex is very contemporary and tasteful in its design. We stayed in the villa which was massive and better than the photos depicted both on booking.com and marina bay website. It had the wow factor! Our decked terrace had the most amazing views over the marina. It gets the sun from sunrise to sunset. From it we saw the most amazing sunsets. We loved the villa and its terrace so much that we did not feel the need to leave much during the day. The staff were extremely helpful at all times and dealt swiftly with any of our requests. Even when we asked for the temperature of the jacuzzi to be raised the maintenance guy tried his best but in the end had to order a new part which did not arrive in time for our stay.

Review 128：We stayed in a deluxe apartment in Block A, I had chosen this specifically for the larger balcony with its own sunloungers. Unfortunately block A does not get the sun until around 1.30pm, however, there is a very nice sun terrace, which nobody seems to really use at the other extreme of the facility which meant we were able to enjoy the morning out of the appartment and the afternoon lunching, sunning on the balcony and making the most of the day.The rooms were very fresh and felt generally quite spacious, very clean and well presented. The kitchen had a number of basic utensils pots etc and a two ring hob, we ate out every night and did not use the cooking facilities, however we breakfasted and lunched in the appartment and made use of the coffee percolator which certainly delighted my partner on the first morning. The wifi in the rooms was excellent. It was free of charge and each room had its own router so the signal was always strong.The reception staff were always very helpful and efficient any time I saw them and the free courtesy room for half an hour on the last day was excellent. I would also recommend paying the €20 deposit per room for the beach towels, especially if you are struggling with your case weight! We also paid the €1.50 to get fresh beach towels half way through the week, it was nice to be able to have new ones.The pool was nice but not overly huge, perfect for a quick dip to cool off. The pool area was frequently packed with those fearful bed savers. However we did always manage to get a space whenever we ventured down.We had dinner on the Friday BBQ night and found the food to be very tasty and extremely reasonably priced €16 for an unlimited buffet of 3 courses.The stairs which feature in most reviews were nowhere near as bad as they are made out, it is a treck to get up them especially in heels but it is not a struggle at all if you have any basic level of fitness. We were up and down all 150+ steps at least twice a day.

Review 129：The single beds pushed together instead of a double bed were a bit of a nightmare and uncomfortable. A mini oven in the kitchen would have been handy but not essential.

Review 131：There were steps everywhere in the complex so you would want to have a decent level of fitness especially in the heat. Not very central, 20 min walk to the centre with 130 steps was very difficult in the intense heat Air conditioning wasn't very strong so it took along time for the room to cool down.

Review 134：Amazing hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in D109 which was located at the top of the complex; lovely and peaceful. Clean resort, good food. We would definitely recommend.

Review 135：Some guests reserving sunbeds by placing their towels on them and therefore not respecting other guests. It was not possible to sunbathe by the pool because as from 9.00am all the sunbeds had been hogged. There was an extremely small notice telling guests not to do this however, they didn't enforce it. This is the only negative point about the accommodation.

Over 160+ from street level,but tobe fair Puerto rico is mostly like that,and we did know this attime of booking.poor clothes space for 2 weeks.only a sort of wardrobe with chicken wire doors.no other clothes space.ie draws etc. for a deluxe apartment I would of expected more.not really deluxe,just excellent views!! sunbeds are not very confortable.metal bar hurts your back,need to sunbathe on them upside down,or marina bayview to invest in" cushions".
