Reviews for La Perla

Review 1:Paper thin walls, no double glazing, wooden floors in the halls. You can hear every noise throughout the night. Very small room and breakfast was meagre.

Review 2:Friendly english speaking staff and fairly good location for the old town. Very cheap but would pay more to get a good nights sleep.

Review 3:The room was a bit noisy and had dripping water all night in the bathroom. I would have complained but I was only there for one night.

Review 4:Excellent central location, Modern ground floor area, Great value breakfast

Review 5:Mattress was good but a little odd Paid parking was expensive and down some small streets - there were others in better places. Restaurants at a wide range of prices but are all over the city in a random way, as evidenced by seeing other tourists in several places all looking for the place to eat.

Review 6:Location for shops and main historical centre meant everything was walkable Enough variety in the breakfast Very friendly staff throughout the hotel

Review 7:the lady looking after breakfasts was rather grumpy

Review 8:staff generally very pleasant and helpful. convenient inner city location. they coped with us keeping our two bikes in the room.

Review 9:Hard to breathe in the room, because of lack of ventilation. Stinky smell all around.

Review 10:Very friendly and helpful stuff. Good location. Nice and spacious bathroom.

Review 11:Hotel in a good situation for visiting the historic area of Almeria. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.public transport nearby too. Breakfast was good value.

Review 12:The shower floor was very slippery. Soundproofing could be improved.

Review 13:We received a bottle of water on arrival, which was much appreciated. The receptionists were friendly and efficient. The hotel has limited parking which is free if a space is available. We were lucky! Otherwise paid parking is available nearby. The location is great with everything you need close to the hotel. We would definitely stay at La Perla again

Review 14:My friends room was very small with view of a building opposite. But they had a nicer shower cubicle than me.

Review 15:Decent size of room for me - looking over the front of the hotel so decent view. Staff very friendly and helpful Very clean

Review 16:No free hotel parking, if you park in near street, you can find eggs and scratches on your car. Cleaning lady threw our toothbrushes on the floor. Very noisy streets around hotel.

Review 17:Cleanliness, polite and helpful staff, in Almeria centre. Well equipped rooms.

Review 18:Secure Parking was 19 EUR per day, even for a motorcycle. But very friendly staff let me park in front of the entrance door, and kept an eye on it for free. so nothing to complain.

Review 19:Staff very friendly and helpfulll !! (see also - points ) breakfast 4 EUR extra but worth it.

Review 20:They staff were very welcoming and helpful, even providing us with a bottle of cold water on a very hot day. Knowledgeable about the city and what it had to offer. Free parking and wifi. The location could not be better!

Review 21:Just a little bit noisy... But it's a town-center, and it's still a Hotel ** so in my opinion it's not annoying...

Review 22:Working trip of 3 days. I liked the personnal, Kind, helpful and patient ! the situation of the Hotel is very fine in the center, the rooms are enough big and clean. Good bathroom, good bed, good desk for a computer, wifi was totally ok, just put the password and go ! I even had a little safe in the furniture. Honestly, i'll be back ! I strongly recommand it. VIVA Espaaaañaaaaa!!!

Review 23:accomodation is very basic for the money. we had to opt to pay for parking, normal rate 15 euros a day.... though pets are allowed, there is a 10 euros a day surcharge and pets are not allowed in the cafe/restaurant.

Review 24:staff very friendly and helpful. rooms very clean. located within walking distance of port and fortress etc.. we could not use the good bus system and we had a dog with us............so we had to use the car to go sight seeing further out.......

Review 25:The hotel is great but I think I would have preferred to have spent an extra night in Valencia and then just passed through Almeria. Alcazaba was worth seeing though.

Review 26:Good location. Rooms clean. Convenient vending machines downstairs. Communal lounge area downstairs was great.

Review 27:Beware of the pricing page for this hotel. More like casino management! We wanted to book for 2 nights and saw that for one night the price was48 Euros, We stupidly assumed that 2 nights would be double this price. We did not pay attention to the internet booking exchange and were laterduly horrified to find out that for second night the price had jumped upto 200 Euros (so a total of 248 instead of 96 Euros, for a very simpleroom with a view of half ruined buildings). The front desk did not offerus an explanation except to say that with our booking the hotel was nowfull and they could charge a higher rate ( or so they had programmedtheir computer). Obviously Booking.Com cannot be responsible for mystupid oversight, but all future customers please be careful when youaccept your price offer for this hotel.

Review 28:Excellent location friendly staff at breakfast

Review 29:Poor wi-fi in the room (good at the reception). Window facing internal space. No key for the safety box (maybe you need to ask at the reception?)

Review 30:Free bottle of fresh water with the chwck-in. Useful if you arrive at night! Clean. Nice staff and location.

Review 31:Our double room was really small. We had to put our suitcase on a small desk, or walking would have been impossible. The shower was dirty and not equipped with a shower corner, so very uncomfortable. The mattress didn't fit on its base...On arrival the receptionist gave us a bottle of warm water (on August 19th). There is a lot to improve in either service and comfort.

Review 32:Its position, close to the Alcazaba and city center.

Review 33:Got bed bug bites, showers were cold, and wifi was terrible.

Review 34:Excellent staff easy to book with clean bathroom and small fridge and good air conditioning. We were refunded after voicing our concerns.

Review 35:Paper thin walls, the bed was very uncomfortable

Review 36:Extremely cheap and good value for money. Staff where friendly and helped to the bar of their ability (only a few spoke English). Wi-fi and breakfast both good

Review 37:Wifi was slow and sometimes not even possible to get connection (on both laptop and smartphone). Wifi strength was basically only good in the reception. I think the hotel needs to install more access points. On the check-in registration paper we had to sign, the conditions stated at the bottom were too restrictive, and there were too many rules here and there giving the impression of micromanangement. Unfortunately it made the hotel come across as less service minded. Regarding the location, since it is in the center: Parking on the streets around the hotel was hard later in the evening (as we considered 15€ per day to much to pay for the hotel's own parking), and some of the streets werent safe. We found Calle Gran Capitan close by was a good spot.

Review 38:The location was good, close to a nice plaza and main streets with shops and supermarkets. Beach and main sights in town were within walking distance. Room was very clean and equipped with minifridge, TV and aircondition with remote. Very comfortable.

Review 39:Bedroom was very clean and the bed comfortable but it needed a lck of paint and the road outside was noisy

Review 82:Breakfast wasn't up to much, but not too bothered as room was very cheap. Bed not too comfortable.

Review 83:Fantastic location for visiting the town. Staff very helpful with parking.

Review 84:The lobby of the hotel is much more posh than the rooms themselves...it looks like they're doing renovations so that may change. The mattress wasn't super comfortable.

Review 85:La Perla is very conveniently located near Puerta de Purchena, within walking distance to a ton of great shops and restaurants/bars. The staff members were very professional and helpful. The room was clean and had a lovely balcony. There was a good wifi signal throughout the hotel.

Review 86:good location close to city centre - near many tapas bars , restaurants and shops . beach is about 20 minutes walk . good size room with excellent Wi-Fi connection .very friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English .

Review 87:the walls are a bit thin, so there's Always a chance you here other people in other rooms and in the hallways.

Review 88:Perfect Location, great price, free parking, very helpful staff who did speak some english, free wifi

Review 90:Staff were great. the room was really clean. Location very central. Good wifi, i requested room with bath and got it...

Review 91:La Perla is a clean and comfortable hotel in the center of town, well situated at the end of a narrow plaza for unloading the car, and close to paid parking. Be sure to remind the desk clerk to give you the discount ticket before parking your car.

Review 92:The soundproof of the room was pure.

Review 93:Excellent location in the city centre, good balance between services available and the price level. There was all I needed: bed, shower and breakfast.

Review 94:Food b'fast was toast & coffee, charged x-tra for 2nd cup. Parking in ramp euro 15. For $71.US dollars you can do better then this. WiFi worked in lobby but was still weak.

Review 95:Was close to city center.

Review 96:Wifi didn't work in my room, one member of the staff mentioned to me that they had some problem with it at the upper floors. But it was no problem to me use the wifi at the reseption floor and also when I was in breakfast at the bar.

Review 97:The staff was great, hotel and the rooms are clean, area is perfect - you walk out of the hotel and you're in centrum. Area has many many restaurants and here it's perfect - in every drink you get free tapas. This time of the year I didn't see tourists at all.. To the beach I walked every day like about 10-15 minutes.. Almeria to mee seen to be really nice town!

Review 98:No parkingl lot. The area was pretty bizarre. Very far the the beachside.

Review 99:Very clean rooms and spacious. The breakfast was good, but not a self service.

Review 104:Very friendly reception, car park around the corner, clean hotel, located in the old town with shops and restaurants.

Review 105:No hair drier in room, as advertised. Cafe was closed. We would rather pay a little more to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 106:Location. Messages given promptly to us.Friendly staff.

We had a very nice concierge who provided us a map and a bottle of water for free and gave us good advice for eating Tapas. Best price-performance! (30€ for two incl. breakfast!)
