Review 2:Excellent staff on reception. Spotlessly clean and comfortable

Review 3:Nothing it was all spot on. Faultless

Review 4:The friendly male receptionist who had a charming smile. The breakfast was amazing. All good please support this execellent establishment.

Review 5:Guests had been told breakfast at 7:30 by receptionist. Unfortunately she'd forgotten the next day was Saturday: weekend breakfast is at 8. So breakfast was delayed but excellent once it was ready.

Review 6:Wonderful old fashioned hotel (lift with manual sliding cage door!). All in excellent condition. Rooms and bathrooms recently refurbished. Staff genuinely friendly and helpful.

Review 7:As the Hotel could not accommodate our request for a double bed within our price bracket they upgraded us to an executive suite for no further charge! Receptionist spoke excellent English and was very helpful when suggesting where to go locally for an evening out. Excellent breakfast!!

Review 8:Arrived very early and wet from cycling. Given another room so that we could unload our baggage / change. This room was poor.

Review 9:Had a nice, oldy worldy feel to it. Relaxing area to just sit and read

Review 10:the size of the bed is very small (1,35) for a couple and the mattress was not comfortable at all.

Review 11:the staff was so friendly and the hotel was clean and perfect location.

Review 12:Great staff, good breakfast, large comfortable lobby and área for relaxing. Antique furnshing throughout make the place feel timeless. Surrounded by huge trees give it a jungle feel in the middle of town.

Review 13:The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bedrooms spacious clean well appointed and comfortable. Public rooms spacious and charming. Excellent value.

Review 14:Great hotel that has a certain faded charm to it. The rooms are large, clean and bright and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's well located in the centre of Irun. Recommended.

Review 15:Wifi coverage in the upper floor room I got. Information about breakfast given in the front desk and in the cafeteria incoherent, caused I got my breakfast outside.

Review 16:Location as regards restaurants and shops, quiet at night, parking space for clients. Partly renovated recently.

Review 17:The brioche at breakfast came in a cellophane package!

Review 18:we loved the ambiance and how close it is to the town. The garden, though overgrown, had some beautiful trees and shrubs including an enormous Camellia just outside the front door. The breakfast croissant was delicious and the fresh orange juice was really fresh.

Review 19:As a starting place for the Camino de Santiago, the reception by the staff was fantastic and the woman who processed my checkout gave me perfect, thoughtful instructions on the best way to find the route to San Sebastian.

Review 20:The hotel is very old and run down and probably beyond doing up. The beds are hard. The general condition is poor. It isn't as cheap as it should be in this state. I cant conceive how it got more than one star.

Review 21:Wifi worked well for a change. Free on-site parking.

Review 22:Quite noisy throughout night on front but it was Saturday

Review 23:View from our front room, friendly and helpful staff, easy to find and park, traditional surroundings.

Review 24:Hotel is rather tired. Our bedroom was small and a little dark. The Hotel is in a good position but looks as if they need to spend some money on updating.

Review 25:Fairly central location with off road parking. The lift was positively ancient but was a work of art

Review 26:Steep walk up from road to hotel after walking about town.

Review 27:Nice little town. Resting spot for us after trains from London, Paris and then to Irun and the Hotel and next opening to Santiago de Compostela.

Review 28:We stayed for two days in September and particularly liked the free on site parking, great location and convenience for the town centre. The staff were very helpful and spoke several languages. The room and bathroom were spotless, with a large, comfortable bed and good size balcony. The lift was a bonus. OK, so the decor was a bit old fashioned but it was more than compensated for by everything else.

Review 29:There was no garden. There was a terrace but no access and no chairs and tables. The lift was awful. The whole hotel was "faded gentility" to the point of scruffy. A shame, as it is a lovely building.

Review 30:Convenient to town. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Review 31:The bed was a bit noisy and not so comfortable but more than OK for a couple of nights.

Review 32:The location is perfect, within easy reach from both the Topo (which brings you to France and San Sebastien) and central Irun. It was nice to have a terrace

Review 33:- Cancellation fee 100%!!! - Very noicy from within the place bcs 1cm think wood walls - Old, work mattress - Looks & feels more like an old mental home then a hotel

Review 34:- The elevator ;o) - Easy parking - It was very clean

Review 35:Smelt like cigarettes. It looked like an old peoples home when we arrived

Review 36:Excellent staff and charming older loved style. Fine stop over. Good orange juice

Review 37:Dark wood paneling in the room we stayed in, bathroom layout (the shower is in a dark niche, and the lack of air conditioning (really only important on certain days in the summertime).

Review 38:Location, vintage ambience, wonderful staff

Review 39:The beautiful old lift...

Review 40:Ideal for walking into centre. Very quiet with views. Will probably visit again.

Review 76:Spacious room, attractive furniture, balcony overlooking town and distant hills.

Review 77:Attractive and comfortable room. Unfortunately, I had to arrive late and leave early the next morning, so I had little opportunity to explore.

Review 78:No breakfast

Review 79:The site The parking The nice room

Review 80:The facilities for food was dreadful. There is no decent restaurant on site only a tapas bar and a buffet but no a la carte restaurant

Review 81:The room was lovely

Review 82:It's comfortable enough but the bedrooms really need updating. Creaky floorboards.

Review 83:Old-fashioned charm in the centre of town. Free parking in the courtyard.

Review 84:Very hot overnight with no air conditioning and no fridge. Very noisy you here everything in the other rooms and bare wooden floors throughout that creak constantly.

Review 85:Location within easy walk of train station. Clean.

Review 86:Bed too small. Old-fashioned double. Hotel needs an upgrade especially bathroom. Hotel has enormous potential. We had room on front with balcony but not very secure as it is possible to pass from one balcony to another making sleeping with door open in summer a bit risky. No a/c

Review 87:Location was excellent for a 1-night stopover as we were travelling from the south of Spain to Belgium. Near to restaurants and bars for evening meal. Quiet even though it was set back off main street. Staff helpful.

Review 88:The room was spacious, bed very comfortable and the staff were very very helpful. The hotel was well located in terms of shopping, restaurants and public transport.

Review 89:Situated in an 'oasis' of trees in the centre of Irun, HotelAlcazar has real character with traditional wood panelling and acomfortable lounge. Very friendly staff helped point us in the rightdirection for food etc.

Review 90:6 euro taxi ride from the train station. The hotel is in what appears tobe an old mansion. So expect older looking furnishings, etc. Clean andcomfortable.

Review 93:I always feel a little more for breakfast would be good, maybe a boiled egg or two
