Reviews for Pühajärve Spa & Holiday Resort

Review 1:Lamp shade was dirty (had big stains). SPA area was dissapointing (not cozy, had finnish sauna only in dressing room and only one jacuzzi in the pool area) - basically it was just a decent 4x25m swimming pool.

Review 2:1) Massage was great. 2) Decent breakfast. 3) Loved the fact that there was a pub where you could spend some time in the evening. 4) Nice location and views from the room.

Review 3:It feels that the hotel is a bit overpriced. Room keys are old style, not a card. Also for me is strange to charge money for kids, who do not need any extra bed. Feels like selling the air - kids do not making any expense for hotel...

Review 4:Stuff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is OK. Nice countryside atmosphere.

Review 5:reception was inattentive and waited for 10 + minutes whilst she was on the phone without even looking up to acknowledge us.

Review 6:location is great and enjoyed the pool and bar staff were nice

Review 7:These are very minor issues, but I want to list them here. One could consider removing the stupid edge above the bed - it made it impossible to sit up in bed (and if you do by accident, you hit your head), also it would be good to have up-to-date calendar on the website for spa treatments to see availabilities in real time. Bike rental is ridiculously expensive - 16€ a day - should consider symbolic price for at least hotel guests and taking an ID or guarantee sum instead. Also the bike I got hadn´t been checked for a while, front wheel had lost almost all its pattern (ppl who do not know how to bike and only break with front break) and had to have the bike tuned in Otepää Hawaii Express - fixing back break, and getting the back wheel to spin again properly and to be able to go up the hills actually.

Review 8:Great location, directly at Pühajärve (one of most bjuutiful ones in Estonia - who needs a pool in summer if you have a lake at the house, easy to reach by car and by public transport), friendly staff, very good breakfast, great choice of different facilities - spa, gym, pub, restaurant, bowling. Sports equipment available to be rented, outdoor sports facilities - for biking, skiing, tennis, basketball etc. Very clean and tidy lawn/beach area to lay around in sun. Definitely will go again at next opportunity and I do recommend it to everyone else also.

Review 9:The room was quite small. I didn`t like that there was a door connected to the next room, even though it was locked. It should at least be covered with a curtain so you wouldn`t feel like someone could step in any moment. Also the walls weren`t sound-proof. I did not like the fact that there was no kettle and cups in the room (like in some other hotels), so you couldn`t make yourself a drink whenever you felt like. Instead you had to rely on paid hot drinks from the reception, which were over-priced I thought. The pool in the spa seemed a bit too small, although the view to the lake was beautiful. The saunas in the spa were too hot for me.

Review 10:The breakfast was great and luxurious. The tower cafe was lovely and there were beautiful views from there. The bed was very comfy.

Review 11:Pool dressing room floor could be a bit cleaner. Hair dryer in the bathroom is a bit hopeless - but that's been like it in all the hotels I've visited.

Review 12:It was our second time in Pühajärve SPA. We stayed on second floor in a room with lake view. The lake is not really that close but we got a peak and was still better than view to the road. The room was comfy. We had an allergy room - no carpet on the floor; but the laminate on the floor was a bit worn-out. The room was clean, the bed comfy. Their pool is with a fantastic view to the lake. There are two saunas, so not that much but just enough for us. Their breakfast is great - even some organic food. Fruit is fresh! Bread, cereal, porridge... I think there is choice enough to keep everyone happy.

Review 13:Bed was not at all comfortable. We stayed there for TriSmile - and it was dissappointing not to have a comfy place to relax after 100km on the bike. For the price, the room was a little small and unsophiticated (shower was just a spicket on the wall of the bathroom).

Review 14:Beautiful location, nice and secluded, steps from the lake and sandy beach. Nice pool and hot tub facility. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 15:The noise and mess created by triathlon competition on the hotel ground destroyed all hopes for a quiet weekend. Lack of communication from the hotel about the sport event and restrictions to use hotel facilities made the stay very unpleasant and left us with a feeling of being cheated (little value for money). The restaurant smells of rotten fish. Some corridors, doors, stairs look dirty, need urgent renovation. Monday's breakfast buffet included mostly leftovers from Sunday's morning.

Review 16:The view from the tower cafe and from the swimming pool were the only two good things. They are also accessible to those not staying at the hotel.

Review 17:The prices of the spa procedures should be put up into the booklet in every room! The colour scheme of the room was a bit aggressive to my taste- quite many people find red colour in the bedroom irritating.

Review 18:The stuff was really friendly, the room was comfortable, the food was excellent and you have the best choice of music in your tower cafe! Also enjoyed the morning swim really much, the pool was nice.

Review 19:The breakfast was too crowded and noisy. As it is mainly leisure hotel, the breakfast could last until 11 a clock to disperse the mass of people. It was hard to find the sitting place and the waitresses worked hard, however they were not able to clean up the tables as fast as it was needed. Very unpleasant experience! The Wifi connection could reach also to the rooms. The decor at the corridor reminds the school, not cozy.

Review 20:Breakfast selection. The staff. Beautiful location.

Review 21:We chose this hotel because we wanted to go to saunas and pool. On the arrival turned out that the pool and saunas were closed and there was no information about this "little detail" anywhere in the web and when we left because of this, receptionist understood us and promised not to charge credit card but they did it anyway. So be aware and check everything before booking a room in this hotel!

Review 22:Location

Review 23:They gave to business trip travellers quuensize beds and we had booked two beds. The bed was really terrible. Also many place have started to go bad.

Review 24:Great place with beautiful surroundings.

Review 25:Breakfast should be improved. Some equipment in gym must be repaired.

Review 26:Nice hotel in perfect location. Free pool, Jacuzzi and sauna for hotel guests. Tasty food in bar.

Review 27:Good procedures at SPA, but water part of hotel is small. Pool, sauna and one jacuzzi.

Review 28:Location is amazing. Frendly staff. Good wifi. Parking and balcony. Great value for the money.

Review 29:There was a fairly limited range of skiing and skating gear sizes available - considering there are lkely to be families with children of all ages, this could be covered better. Also, the beautiful glass tower cafe had only one item of food - a cake - available.

Review 30:Everything is at your fingertips at Pühajärve - beautiful nature, if snow fails you or the weather is otherwise miserable, there is a large pool, gym, various saunas, bowling alley, full range of spa options - much more than you need, really. There is a restaurant at the resort, the food is all right. The rooms are not massively spacious but you'd be there to sleep in only anyway. We had a balcony which was useful to air the clothes. Everything was clean and staff was very friendly and some of them very, very helpful - one gentleman went out of his way to bring us a kettle and entertain children. This place is probably most ideal for people with kids but anyone else would enjoy it - unless you want to experience more local air - then a B&B would certainly be more befitting. But for a resort type holiday, we could not expect more.

Review 31:Facilities - need serious upgrade. Feels very East Bloc. Restaurant not open on Sunday. Spa not available on Monday morning.

Review 32:Location - located next to a beautiful lake not too far from Tartu Facilities - lots to do (bowling, nordic skiing, gym, spa, etc)

Review 33:Breakfast was average, small choice, coffee was not good. Spa wasn't really a spa. There was a pool (good for swimmers), two separate saunas, one small jacuzzi. The food in the pub is not the best (don't take the pork!!).

Review 34:Nice neighborhood, big and clean rooms, nice balcony. Bowling was good (4 lines)!

Review 35:Bathroom condition Very limited choice in spa center (only 2 saunas and swimming pool) WiFi connection is quite slow Breakfast is only until 10am, at this time restoran is very crowdy, no place to sit

Review 36:Location Breakfast Balcony

Review 37:Spavisit at the evening of arrival was NOT included in the price, we neede to buy a separate ticket for that. Spa itself was a major disappointment - is not what you'd expect from it nowadays, it was just swimming pool and 1 bubblepool, no actual relax. Beds are really out of date.

Review 38:Pub had pooltables. Nice breakfast.

Review 39:This resort is in a remote location, anyone but local clients has a very long way to travel to get there. Yet, as we arrived on a Sunday, most of the health and other facilities, which may justify the long trip, were simply closed ( restaurant, swimming pool, most spa and beauty treatment services, etc ). Staff seemed mildly disinterested - the soviet past shines through.

Review 40:Great location, and wide array of spa services - if and when they care to open...

Review 41:Price range rockets up on winter weekends, weekdays are affordable

Review 42:Full stack spa and recreational facilities in under one roof

Review 43:Good spa, comfortable rooms, nice vista with the lake. 10/10

Review 73:Good breakfast but poor dinner

Review 74:Excellent native nature. Good swimming pool and fitness. Clean lake with small beach. Rich opportunity for spots

Review 75:No air conditioning

Review 76:Nice location, nice staff

Review 77:The staff was incompetent and impolite, charged me more than was said in booking confirmation, arguing that prioces has changed since 1 January. Never explained what actually I can get for price I paid and could not answer my questions - maybe because of bad command of English.

Review 78:SPA center is small, only two small bathes are there. If want to spend a time in a SPA it is not good choice.

Review 79:Wery beautiful quaint place. It is excellent if you would like to heve rest after busy work days. Hotel provide's sweeping pool, sport gym, bowling, pub, restaurant, tower cafe (wery good view). Excellent place for people who likes sport, a lot of walkways are around the hotel.

Review 80:This was our second stay at Pühajärve - we came back because we enjoyed the first time so much! The second stay didn't disappoint. This hotel is perfect for a relaxing break. The location is wonderful and the spa facilities are great.

Review 81:Spa premises were very limited. There was only simple swimming pool and not several pools, not so many activities for young children. The children room was the greatest dissapointment as it was not really a room but just a little corner with few papers and thats it.

Review 82:Location, services

Review 83:Service was basic. Training in customer care would be required.

Review 84:its a bit expencive for juinor suite. No explanation about what this price includes.
