Reviews for Hotel Cardenal Ram

Review 1:Staff friendly but overworked... Trying to work in restaurant and check people in and out. The hotel should send very clear driving instructions before you get there. It's a nightmare to drive in the town.

Review 2:Position, big room, view, great building, restaurant on site.

Review 3:The mini bar was almost empty in the room and there was no hotel information. When we went for dinner the food was served on cold plates, a school child error thus the food was cold. The pork was also dry.

Review 4:The location and views are stunning if a little difficult to find and drive to.

Review 5:Toilet seat was loose and heated towel rail was off and when valve was opened it became freezing cold.

Review 6:Great location and food was good and staff were very helpful.

Review 7:Unfriendly staff, difficult to find the hotel in Morella with all the restrictions on access with a car

Review 8:Room comfortable, free wifi , within walking distance of all Morella sights

Review 9:No parking facility at hotel but not an issue as it's only a few minutes walk to car park. Breakfast isnt great and could be better organised, ie:- cereals available but no bowls, spoons or milk, fruit condition and selection poor.

Review 10:Spotless,spacious and comfortable room. Good menue selection, presentation and quality of food. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 11:WiFi was not always working. We got a twin bed although we asked for adouble one. An extra bed for our toddler was being charged at eur 30, sowe did not take it.

Review 12:Price. Location, right on main street of Morella. Menu for dinner wasgood value for money. Spacious and clean room.

- Precio imbatible. - Desayuno bien, sin mas.

Review 15:Limited choise of food at breakfast. The parking lot is outside of the old city. You need to ask the hotel reception staff what is the best way to get there.

Review 16:Nice location in the center of the old city with a great view from the room windows. Free parking. Clean, quiet and spacious room. Elevator in the hotel that built in the very old building.

Review 17:Nothing. We loved the hotel.

Review 18:The hotel is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a family of 6 with lots of luggage. They let us store it in the office for the day while we finished our stay in Morella. The rooms were reasonably priced so we could get 2 rooms, no problem.

Review 19:Requires clear instructions for access by car, particularly on weekends when town is closed to general traffic. Top car park is close enough to avoid taking the car into the town at all, but hotel doesn't make that clear.

Review 20:Fantastic location at the top of main street is ideal for exploring the town.

Review 21:Parking is a problem and probably needs a parking valet to a secure off site car park. The cleanliness of the bedroom was not perfect and the stone floor in the otherwise luxurious bathroom

Review 22:The location and elegance of the hotel would put a number of the historic Paradors to shame. We were offered prior to arrival an upgrade to the delightful room206 for a nominal sum, which made our stay very special.

Review 23:breakfast was incredibly poor. No eggs, no bacon. That was a surprise because the hotel has a great restaurant for lunch and diner.

Review 24:location and the buidling

Review 25:I'm not sure if it's possible to drive as far as the hotel to drop off luggage - and then exit the town to park. I think the hotel needs to sort this out at time of booking. Nobody wants to start making phone calls at the barrier. It wasn't a problem for us to carry our luggage to the hotel - but I could imagine it causing difficulties for others.

Review 26:This was our third visit to Cardenal Ram. It's an excellent hotel - perfect location in the centre of a very interesting town. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely spacious room with a view of surrounding hills. Wonderful bathroom - roomy, plenty of hot water, towels and products. Great breakfast for a modest extra charge.

Review 27:Arrival by car is adventurous to say the least and the available car parking is some distance away. Better instructions in advance would help!

Review 28:Very friendly and helpful staff Views utterly amazing Dinner outstanding at a very moderate price (€ 22). Thank you for recommending it.

Review 29:Morella is hill town with narrow streets and restricted parking. There is secure parking but some way from the Hotel-so best to forget your car for the duration of your stay-fortunately there is much to see in Morella

Review 30:Courteous and considerate staff; comfortable and modern rooms; central but quiet; good cooking, all at very reasonable.prices

Review 31:Even with a GPS it is quite difficult to find. We parked and walked to the hotel but the staff helped us with our luggage and parking.

Review 32:After quite a long drive we arrived at the beautiful hotel. The rooms were lovely with great views. It is situated right in the centre of the town close to great restaurants. Fantastic value for money.

Review 33:Food not up to standard of hotel. Both dinner and breakfast needed to be better.

Review 34:Location in a very unique and historic town.

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:Good location and near to the main sights and restaurants. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 37:A wonderful setting and excellent service

Review 38:Pillow, cleanliness

Review 39:Location, building, room

Review 40:Well placed in the center of Morella to explore the town with great views across the hills. It had both historic atmosphere and modern facilities

Review 41:We liked best the location and the building itself. It has kept an atmosphere of the ancient residence of Cardenal Ram.

Review 42:the place

Review 43:Excellent food on a lovely terrace. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Review 44:Amazing views, luxurious rooms, the building had lots of character

Review 45:A bit difficult to find.

Review 46:Very friendly personnel, Excelent food

Review 47:not a lot.

Review 48:everything. good restaurant, good food, value for money.

Review 49:Tricky finding hotel

Review 50:Historic location.Amazing view from our room. Beautiful bedroom. Friendly staff.

Review 51:The accomodation, food and staff were excellent.

Review 52:The hotel is beautiful and the room was comfortable.

Review 53:Interesting menu and wine list

Review 54:Fantastic Hotel in superb location

Review 55:Asituated on a hill long haul to carry luggage using street parking

Review 56:Bedroom stylish and nice dining facilities

Review 57:everything

Review 58:Great little place and excellent value for money. A very good stop if you are driving from Granada to Barcelona!

Review 59:Wifi was patchy in room and had to go into hallway to get a decent signal

Review 60:Hotel had good sized rooms and comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 61:Having to park outside the town. A long way to bring and take back luggage from car.

Review 62:Central position. Rustic charm.

Review 63:Leaving

Review 64:Everything

Review 65:Access can be difficult. Only approach by the main gate on the northeast of town as the road to the hotel is one way and closed by a bollard in busy times, requiring a call to the hotel to open it. Little English spoken. GPS and Google maps are fairly useless.

Review 66:Well located in the town centre with very comfortable and modern rooms. The restaurant is good but there are lots of choices in walking distance.

Review 67:beautiful hotel in a restored medieval building right in the centre of town. Able to walk everywhere within the town. Parking is provided free undercover about 200m away. Highly recommended.

Review 68:Nothing, this hotel had everything we wanted, delivered with a smile.

Review 69:Upon our arrival we had a warm welcome, an excellent room, Ooohh so comfortable beds and a very tasty, value for money, meal.

Review 70:Hated the designer sink which was flat and had no functioning plug, so you couldn't close it.

Review 71:We had a lovely room (301) on the top floor, with views over the hills. You could watch alpine choughs and griffon vultures over the rooftops of the town. The bathroom was spacious and warm. Good value. We didn't eat breakfast having seen reviews on TA about tiny portions, but there are plenty of bars and patisseries where you can get breakfast. A lunch of salad, grilled vegetables and fresh fish was good, and welcome in an area where there's little fresh fish available in most restaurants.

Review 72:The room was not really maintained as well as I expected - shower badly re-grouted, drip from hand basin when tap on, needed a feminine touch! I expected flowers in the room as you had been told we were celebrating a Birthday. Little info about the Hotel itself - history etc. Toilets along the corridor absolutely stank when we walked by. Excellent position.Menu was not comprehensive enough to tempt us to eat there.

Review 73:The room was large, quiet. Good toiletries. Bed comfortable and attractive. Bottled water provided. Pleasant atmosphere. Excellent position.

Review 74:Staff could speak a bit better english, restaurant was closed on Tuesday evening with many of the other restaurants in the village, hard to get a meal.

Review 75:Great room, very clean, nice location, beautiful building.

Review 76:This hotel is in a beautifully restored 16th century house. The room we had was spacious and tastefully furnished, with an excellent modern bathroom. The quality of the dining room was high.

Review 77:However the hotel is situated on the town's main street making access by car difficult -impossible if, like us, you arrive on a public holiday when they close the route supplied in the information. The entrance will present problems for the least mobile but everything within is fine.

Review 78:Our room ( 302) was great with a fantastic view. Shower room is modern and accessible to old crocks like us. The lift made life even more comfortable.

Review 79:At the time of our visit, the Wi-Fi was not working !

Review 80:The bed was superb. The room was spacious, and the view lovely. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, good quality food.

Review 81:Parking a problem. Hotel not very accessible by car and GPS advises so. Need to take first space I could find. Walk in search of hotel and having checked in return to car to collect only what was needed for overnight stay. But then is a medieval walled town- built for mule rather than the car.

Review 82:Fab location- right in the most interesting street of the town., Very comfortable bedroom/bed and good views. Nice comfortable restaurant. The surrounding countryside offers some spectacular driving.

Review 83:No tea coffee facilities in the room but i think this is an english custom and Morella is very spanish

Review 84:location stunning, nice spacious room with comfy bed very modern but with plenty ofcharacter. Food was excellent in restaurant with good service,

Review 85:Hotel is an old renovated palace and a great job has been done. The hotel is comfortable and located on the main street through Morella. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there

Review 86:The hotel is located on the "main street" of Morella directly in the middle of the beautiful medieval town with its impressive fortress (not easy to get there by car). We had a great spacious room with high ceilings. The room was very quite and offered a fabulous view of the surrounding landscape. Be aware the hotel is mainly focused on Spanish guest which added for us greatly to the atmosphere but also might present a minor drawback for some people (e.g. breakfast and communication on site)

Review 87:the dark faces of the staff make the house interior look even darker; unfriendly restaurant room + personnel; noisy room (from restaurant/bar, from street); poor quality breakfast; a hiker hotel should provide early breakfast; no help or instructions re luggage drop-off to inaccessible area.

Review 88:wounderful location; approximity to hiking area; functionality and cleanliness of room; price; pitoresque town.

Review 89:No kettle / tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Review 90:Bang in the middle of town, a beautiful old building, refurbed to a very high standard. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and so comfortable - I had the best night's sleep in ages! Modern bathroom. Very helpful staff who helped cart our cases to the underground carpark.

Review 91:1. The noise from the street 2. There was no plug in the basin in the bathroom so the basin did not retain water. This was a design defect. 3. When the soap and shower gel ran out they were not replaced.

Review 92:The building

Review 93:Access difficult if using public transport.

Review 94:Large room with lovely view; large bathroom; excellent bar and restaurant; incredible staff; excellent wifi; beautiful building and interiors.

Review 95:The air conditioning wasn't working and we had a very hot uncomfortable night. The hotel staff flatly refused to lower the price as they were clearly not able to offer what to us is about the most important thing.

Review 96:The hotel is in a stunning location with wonderful views

Review 97:The radiator in the bathroom sprung a leak, we reported it straight away but it was never repaired. My Husband had a scratch on his arm and it bled through the night ( 1st night) We thought they might of changed the sheet but it was just left. These are little nit picks, everything else was superb.

Review 98:Hotel was very clean, nice & quiet.Large open bathroom, very clean. We stayed for 2 nights,we ate in the restaurant and we were not disapointed. Special thanks to Albert our waiter who was very helpful.

Review 99:Morella is a very small and very impressive historical town for an overnight stay, which is what we did. Don't miss the church. We parked just inside the town walls - free. Be aware that the town has restricted parking beyond that!

Review 100:The hotel is inside the walls of Morella and in a beautiful location. The staff were extremely helpful and although there is no parking at the hotel you can drop off bags at the door and the staff will assist. Free parking is available within 400 metres, just outside one of the many gates. The hotel room was beautiful with panoramic views, very comfortable bed and a good modern bathroom. Slept like a log. Breakfast is geared to continental style although if you ask the staff they will provide other items if available. Morella is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain and full of old buildings and mansions from mediaeval times. There are numerous good quality, well priced, restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, including Dalruan, where the 12 euro menu is superb quality for the price. There are many walks in the area and birdlife is wonderful- including vultures and eagles. A memorable 3 nights which will be repeated in the future.

Review 101:Nothing.. Maybe the breakfast was a bit disappointing by their standardsbut still better than at any other hotel we stayed at during this trip.

Review 102:Excellent location, fantastic view, tons of character, friendly staff.

Review 103:Wi-Fi was terrible!

Review 104:The building itself is very interesting - a bit like stepping back in time but with luxury thrown in. We were pleased to see that as part of the big refurb carried out recently, they must have upgraded the beds which are now really comfy (unlike when we stayed there about 4 years ago when the beds were so hard, we couldnt sleep) We decided to have breakfast and it was excellent. One of the reviews said it was "very basic but to be expected for the cost" We paid 8.80 euros each and found it good value and tasty. We had been expecting to pay 5 euros each but we didnt complain when we were charged more.

Review 105:Breakfast could have been a little more extensive and some info re hotel and Morella in the room would have been nice.

Review 106:The hotel was a historic, beautifully renovated palace, in the centre of wonderful Morella. The staff were all attentive and pleasant..even came to the car park with us. Dinner was excellent and a nice bar. Room and bathroom very comfortable.

Review 107:Noisy floors (beware people above in high heels!) Treacherous, narrow, one-way roads to navigate through town

Review 108:Tastefully Refurbished, engancing the historic features Beautiful stone staircase Helpful staff Great location, steeped in history and mystery; fantastic, ancient castle and medieval churches Luxury feel, but not ostentatious Calm and peaceful haven Great views across the valleys High, beamed ceilings Large open bathroom Truffles, chocolate and honey!

Review 109:The room was lovely with a great view

Review 110:Our room was a little noisy from road/ deliveries.

Review 111:Wonderful old building

Review 112:The breakfast could have been better,ie some fruit or yougart

Review 113:A lovely hotel well sited with friendly staff and a good restaurant

Review 114:close to the castle and monastery and nearby shops and restaurants

Review 115:Beautiful rooms with fantastic views over the surrounding valley.

Review 116:nothing

Review 117:everything! location, room, bed, restaurant. All perfect.

Review 118:Limited services - as many Spanish hotels of this type

Review 119:The view from the room. Wow factor all round. A gem.

Review 120:A must do, to visit this lovely town and hotel.

Review 121:Hard to find as sat nav info not correct.

Review 122:Morella is special and also this hotel.

Review 123:Difficulty in finding reception staff.
