Reviews for Aisia Orio Hotel Talasoterapia

Review 1:The reception was not aware of our reservation. The hotel needs a lot of maintenance. Some parts of the hotel are "degrading".

Review 2:The Thalassotherapy was the argument to stay in this hotel.

Review 3:Unfportunately the acomodations needs to refurbished and but they are improving the facylities

Review 4:The management and staff where really helpfull and they did everything they could to give us confortabilty

Review 5:the unfriendly staff in the restaurant for the breakfast in a pit with view of a wall, tables and chairs covered with white sheets and unsmiling waitress when present, felt like a haunted house! didn't dare try the restaurant

Review 6:couldn't be nearer the beach and all rooms with sea view

Review 7:Orio itself is not very nice, over-priced restaurants (well, certainly one is); You have to pay for parking on the public road or the hotel carpark

Review 8:For the price we paid I think this place is fine, good value. On the beach which is very nice, not too populated, clean. The hotel is tidy, rooms are clean with a balcony. Our room was a bit small but manageable. Nearby are many places to see but you need a car. San Sebastian, Hondoribia/French border, Zaurutz is very nice, Bilbao. Nice stretches of coastal roads and mountainous scenic drives

Review 9:The girl working at the front desk was a bit confused about the check-in, as it was her first day and she didn't know what to do. Not her fault through.

Review 10:The staff is helpful, and the place is very comfortable. The location is perfect, if you looking for a nice beach area. It was an enjoyable stay.

Review 11:Everything was bad. Our worst stay in 8 weeks in Spain. The property was in bad condition and poorly maintained

Review 12:When we arrived the front desk staff were too busy to even acknowledge our arrival. They were deep in discussion which we found out later was a staff member and the owner arguing over some previous issue. When we finally received attention we were shown our room which ch was stifling hot so turned on the air conditioning which after 2 hours made no difference. We complained. Only to discover the whole system was not working. We demanded another room which was even worse. We said we had been mislead and demanded our money back or stay charge free. This was agreed. Turned out the argument on check iin with the owner was over this very issue. We felt very sorry for the receptionist as she tried very hard under very difficult conditions. The owner had dumped the whole issue on her ! Stayed in late June 2014

Review 13:Obsoleto, total y descuidado

Review 14:La Zona.

Review 15:Nice hotel, nice beach, nice location

Review 16:This hotel needs to renovation

Review 17:Nice cove, short distance to high way and San-Sebastian

Review 18:Dinner at hotel restaurant was very bad

Review 19:The bar closed too early in the evening. No tea/coffee facilities in bedrooms.

Review 20:Good location.

Review 21:Very grumpy reception staff and almost hostile bar staff

Review 22:Nice bars on beach

Review 23:Everything

Review 24:Checking out

Review 25:Cleanliness

Review 26:Location, staff, wifi,

Review 27:Not so close to san sebastian. Very small turistic offering (just two or three restaurants/bar). The hotel needs some rehabilitation inside.

Review 28:In a peacefull lovely place, close to the beach.

Review 29:Some of the features in the spa were not fully functional and looked a little tired BUT it was clear that the hotel was undergoing a re-fit and so perhaps these minor gripes will be sorted out for the future. Rooms and corridors looked a little worse for wear but again, these should be sorted out for the future.

Review 30:We stayed at this hotel some 6 or 7 years ago and had a lovely time so decided to pay a return visit. The hotel was undergoing a refit (May 2014) during our stay but that didn't deter us or detract from our experience. It's less than a 1 minute's walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk into Orio where you can dine (or snack) on different fare to that offered by the hotel but expect to pay a lot more than the hotel prices for meals. The receptionist spoke English well and was very helpful. The set meal in the evening was reasonably priced at 13 Euros and the waitress had clearly had professional training at some point. Breakfast was a similar experience and the buffet table was topped up regularly. Take your own flip-flops and swimming cap if you wish to use the spa or you'll have to buy some from the hotel. Not a bad price to pay, particularly if you wish to use the spa facilities. Parking was easy and free on the road outside the hotel but would probably get hectic during the height of the summer.

Review 31:The bedroom was poorly equipped (no channel changer for tv) not enough pillows, no soap. The spa is tired poorly maintained with many parts not working

Review 32:The food quality was good with good value.

Review 33:Staff a bit thin on the ground (probably seasonal); room starting to look a little tired and in need of a modest refurbishment

Review 34:Comfortable rooms, good location

Review 35:Room was comfortable, food was good, they even changed the sauce for me. Excellent value, menu available in English. Spa facilities good but two sections were closed. A good stopover hotel with free parking available outside in the winter.

Review 36:-Rooms are dark, when you enter the room for the first time the curtains are covering the windows which makes the room even darker. -We do not recommend the breakfast as it was not worth its price. -Not all of the features of the spa were available.

Review 37:The hotel has a fantastic location between mountains and and a small village. The hiking conditions are very good and the place is without a doubt a relaxing place. With only 30 to 40 meters to the sea it should be perfect for surfers (as the waves are quite large). For a small extra fee we were able to attend the spa which is larger than it looks on the pictures. (ps. bring your own slippers) Wifi connection in the complete hotel. Room size is good.

Review 38:The hotel itself. This place is in major need of a clean up and renovation. The breakfast was terrible and we had to keep asking for food and juices at the buffet. It is not worth the price, this should be a one star hotel.

Review 39:The only good think about this hotel its the location. Easy access to beach and hiking thesurronding hills. San Sebastian is only 15-20 minutes away by train and the train is only 5 minutes away and free parking was available in september.

Review 40:Tired and dark hotel. The lighting in the lounge areas was dreadful and with the dark grey decor it was depressing. The rooms were tatty with the same colour schemes and very poor lighting. Pillows non-existent and bathroom sink did not work properly. The only plus about the room was the generous sized balcony. Breakfast the first day was managed by an indifferent waitress who was too interested in her iPhone to bother to lay out the hot food and pastries. Second day was better with a good selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. Spa area are OK but all in the all the hotel needs a facelift.

Review 41:Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast but only on 2nd day of our stay. Quiet hotel, near beach and easy access into town and San Sebastian. Parking is good next to the hotel and free.

Review 42:The quality of some facilities was below good. Epaecially SPA area and pools were in bad shape. Broken water instalations, rust on water pipes in the pools. Not nice

Review 43:Food quality in hotel restaurant was a big plus. Free parking, easy access.

Review 44:Pillows very long and hard; take your own!

Review 45:Everything - the private balcony was a real plus, overlooking sea & river. Price ( including lovely dinner) was a great surprise. VERY close to the motorway turn-off

Review 46:the room design is very cold

Review 47:the hotel is suitable for summer. We was there when it's cold, so the beach (which is near) is empty and there is not much to do around the city. San-Sebastian is near if you wont some sightseeing.

Review 48:Breakfast was only okay, selections not replenished, bacon burnt and coffee undrinkable. Staff didnt seem that bothered, polishing cutlery in the dining area creating unnecessary noise. Also, noticed one staff member make herself a coffee from the machine (which was not available to guests), should not be done in front of guests.

Review 49:Great location. Nice room with balcony, although was raining when we stayed so didnt get to enjoy the balcony. In need of some TLC. Booked on evening of stay for discounted price, was okay for the price we paid.

Review 50:We arrived on a very busy Sunday and it was almost impossible to park.My husband had to circle for almost 30 minutes. The receptionist couldonly say that the hotel was not liable. Could have used more tact andsome forewarning would have been appreciated

Review 51:Restaurant was very good and excellent value for money. Ask thereceptionist for the English/French version of the menu.

Review 52:Was not able to book in before 14.00

Review 53:Great location. Lovely big room with balcony. Bed very big andcomfortable and had a good nights sleep. The restaurant was big andfull, but food came quickly and was delicious. A great value Hotel. Wewould use it again, but would stay longer than just a stop off, on ourjourney home to uk.

Review 54:The breakfast is a bit of a disaster - there is only one person incharge of the whole process.

Review 55:Amazing location, comfortable rooms, fair price. Nice spa.

Review 56:A room needs some redecoration, we don't like its grey dull walls, cuisine leaves much to be desired, coffee for breakfast was extremelycold, fruits not really fresh. And some of the staff shall be moreattentive and less hasty, for examle shall explain everything in spa inmuch more detail and be more careful while take an order in arestaurant. Underground parking garage is not quite clean.

Review 57:Nice cool place, pleasing view and surroundings, rich landscape, largewindow and balcony, radio in the room, fine spa.

Review 58:Information given out about spa times and prices were incorrect. Therestaurant was a bit officious. The hotel is getting tired and needsmoney spending on it. More noticeable this year than last.

Review 59:The location is excellent and the food is good and are good value

Review 60:Location is really good, and the rooms are clean. If you don't expect too much, you are gonna love this place.

Review 61:Extremilly small room

Review 62:Good spa. nice location near beach - easy for visiting basques area

Review 63:Slow Internet

Review 64:The chambermaids made a lot of noice and entered the room while knocking om the dorr

Review 65:The sea

Review 66:This place has seen better days and the staff going through the motion of doing something.

Review 67:the price - you get what you paid for
