Reviews for Coloria Hostel
Review 1:Always messy and dirty. Really terrible breakfast. Staff didn't speak English other than owner. Rooms were tiny and pictures make the place look about 20 years newer than it really is.
Review 2:Owner Gaby was sweet however staff who speak English would have been nice and less frustrating.
Review 3:A little noisy at night but nothing earplugs cant cure.
Review 4:Staff, kitchen facility, internet and common area were fantastic! We stayed in dorms and loved the experience. The room amd the rest of the hostel was well maintained and clean. Walkable distance to center. Would recommend!
Review 5:Bathroom was very dirty and the last morning I saw a cockroach next to the breakfast Buffet.
Review 6:Nice staff and excellent location, clean rooms and a lot of people from all around the world. Very beautiful trip to Cafayate.
Review 7:The bathrooms are quite old and not very clean depending the time of the day. In general it could really have been cleaner (bathrooms, and a lot of dust that you can see when sleeping on the upper beds in dorms). Some dorms are extremely small as the orange one (though others are good size)
Review 8:Very nice common areas The major part of the staff was nice Close to center
Review 9:We had a double room right above the communal space. The window opened towards the communal space. There was no fresh air in the very tiny room. So we had to open the window, we could here everything trough our earplugs.the bed was terrible. There are tree showers, where two are not good, one didn't drain en with the other the showercurtain was to short so the whole bathroom was filled with water. The pool isn't in use. We know where cannot speak good Spanish, but are really trying to make us understandable, but the lady from the hostel didn't take any effort the explain things to us.
Review 10:The breakfast was nice, and de communal space was good. WiFi is good.
Review 11:Very nice, friendly stuff! They gave as a lot of good informations about good restaurants, places to go and trips/tours in the region. Nice atmosphere. Good breakfast with homemade bread, cereals, Jogurt, coffee...
Review 12:A little big far from the bus station, but next to the downtown and turistic points.
Review 13:Very nice breakfast. Staff team very attentive. Comfortable accommodations.
Review 14:Noisy on the road outside but just use earplugs.
Review 15:Lovely hostel, fab breakfast, helpful staff. Nice bathroom and shower. Swimming pool but didn't get to use it.
Review 16:There was a pool but it had no water; it was empty. The breakfast was very limited but okay in relation to the price. it was not stated on booking.com that i must pay in cash which caused me a problem since i was relying on my credit card for most of my expenses in my trip.
Review 17:The receptionists were really friendly and answered all my questions. I liked the lockers at the door. The hostel is colourful.
Review 18:The window of the Verde room is oriented toward the kitchen. This plus thin walls = too much noise. However, I guess it is not the case for the other rooms.
Review 19:Noisy at midnight. Youngster like to gather on the street and play loud musics. My bus was 12midnight. 8 have to pay for half day to use the bathroom and kitchen. Some other customers with midnight bus do not need to pay extra.
Review 20:Location good. 30min walk from bus terminal. Taxi only cost 25peso. clean environment. Kitchen well equipped.
Review 21:Kitchen needs a revamp, cupboards falling off. Everything was plastic, plates spoons mugs, basic utensils went missing or were locked away.
Review 22:The common area was great space for relaxing and chatting with fellow travellers. Breakfast was provided super early which was great when going on tours. They arranged tours. Good showers.
Review 23:WiFi was intermittent
Review 24:Staff were really friendly and gave us great tips on what to see and do. Cable TV actually has tons of channels, incl English films and comedies.
Review 25:This is a really great hostel in a perfect location. There is a lovely outdoor area with a pool, good wifi and the staff are very helpful and accomodating.
Review 26:Guests and staff smoking in entrance area, which because of airflow takes smoke into common area of hostel and front dormitory area, at all hours.
Review 27:Convenient location, pretty area, great staff, nice garden, homemade bread
Review 28:Not enough bathrooms for the number if people, one of the staff members was rude to some of the guests and refused to help or speak any English, crowded dorm rooms.
Review 29:Good central location, nice common space to sit and meet people, big lockers in the room.
Review 30:The bedroom shared its slim walls and door directly with the main room, where other folks listen to music, TV and talk, so it's impossible to sleep before everyone (so never before 12 or 1a.m). Bathroom was dirty (approximately 2 WC for 30 to 40 beds) in the hostel. A terible smell too in the bedroom. Be careful, pictures look great but are taken so you can't notice the tiny size of the room and exposure to the main room and noises. The area is nice but check it, there are many other hostels very near with same price or cheaper.
Review 31:Nada
Review 32:i totally recommend it-but pay attention, the price you see when booking does not include 21% iva!
Review 33:the hostel is clean, big and with nice common area and garden-with pool and pingpong!there's a pc to use for free and wifi works good.kitchen is big-although it lacks of utensils, and breakfast is very good:homemade bread, milk(with cocoa)tea coffee, juyce, cereals, jams and butter.the room of six is a bit smal, but very comfy, with big safe lockers and a big terrace-where you can hang your stuff.bathrooms are only two,but clean and with 24h hotshower. the staff is supernice, smiley and helpful.
Review 34:the common area is relatively small and too open. not enough space for some quiet time
Review 35:They offer tour bookings to different places. great staff and good breakfast.
Review 36:We had the double room on the ground floor (at the front). To be honest, this was a terrible room. Very small, damp (lots of moisture) and the bed was terrible. So ask for another room if you stay in this hostel. We believe that there are other hostels in Salta which offer more value for money.
Review 37:Friendly staff, nice common area and good WiFi. Location is central.
Review 38:Our room was sticky, with no real window and the bathroom was not very clean.
Review 39:We have forgot our camera in the room and the staff found it and kept it for us until our return to Salta! Thanks again guys, we really appreciate it. Great location, nice common area and good breakfast.
Review 40:The only missing thing was the atmosphere as it's small there no much people around.
Review 41:The place itself is nice, they have a swimming pool sorry we couldn't use as it was a rainy day. It a quiet place but enjoyable if you want to relax in Salta.
Review 42:For some reason the temperature in our room was at least 5 degrees higher than everywhere else and the fan was too weak to make any difference.
Review 43:Nice staff, great kitchen + livingroom. Awesome little pool. All clean and tidy. Good location.
Review 44:The room was really small next to the kitchen, very humid and smelly, the worst we had in 5 weeks, dont take the economical room there
Review 45:The staff wa helpfull The common rooms were big and we'll illuminated
Review 46:our double room was really small only had a window practically facing the opposite wall Kitchen didn't look very clean Some walls seem to be damp
Review 47:Hostel is close to the centre Nice garden and common area Breakfast is not special but ok
Review 48:Room for 6 people is small and there is a leak on the roof of one of the bathrooms when it rains
Review 49:Location, staff and lockers (they have plenty of space)
Review 50:The mattress felt just a little bit old.
Review 51:The staffs were really friendly and helpful. Location was perfect to do any kind of activity in the city. Nice breakfast as well.
Review 52:We had a double room with a window onto an interior gap in the building. It was ok but we couldn't open the window without pulling the bed out of the way and there was very little room with a double bed AND bunk beds. There was a fan which we needed but I'm glad there were only 2 of us in the room. It would have been uncomfortable with 4 people.
Review 53:The common area for breakfast and sitting was nicely furnished and bright with music playing, but not too loudly. The pool was also very nice especially when we arrived after a long hot day.
Review 54:A bit noisy and during rain it is pouring in in some places..
Review 55:Flexible, friendly and helpful hostel in a good location.. Excursions offered at a good price & quality
Review 56:Unfortunately the mattress was old
Review 57:A very nice hostel and we got a very warm welcome with a lot of helpful informations. It's situated in the nicest part of inner Salta with some good restaurants and bars around.
Review 58:It took me ages to find this place as was told was on a different road to what I was on and there were no road names to tell me any different. It has not got a sign or anything so walked past the building twice before finding it. My room (had a private double) had a dodgey lock so went between not locking room to getting locked out. Mini safes for your day stuff but no big ones to put backbag in when I had checked out to when I picked it up later although it was still there! A little worn in places and the breakfast wasntgreat but not too bad either.
Review 59:It was clean, comfy, close to the centre.
Review 60:I stayed at the hostel as I wanted to relax and they had a fabulous looking pool - as it turned out it was dirty and unusable. The 6 bed dorm was extremely cramped, should be a 4-bed instead. No lockers in the rooms. No locks on the room doors.
Review 61:Small fairly friendly hostel. Reception staff were very helpful.
Review 62:Unfortunetly we wont able to use the pool, even though the weather was amazing that day!
Review 63:The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived a lot earlier than check-in-time, yet our room was ready. Breakfast was very good (a lot better than in many other Argentinian hostels I stayed in) and the shared bathrooms were very clean and spacious, as the room. The hostels location is very central, yet quiet.
Review 64:The rooms are a little small when it comes to storing your gear especially when the room is full. It's doable though. It can be a little loud in the evening if you're in certain rooms if people have music or mivies on in the common areas. Ear plugs sort that out though and always help if you get 1 or 3 snorers in your room.
Review 65:Good kitchen and general facilities. Always had hot water and the bathroom was clean. Wifi worked well too. Staff are always available if needed.
Review 66:400 pesos for a 9m2 room that smells humidity a lot, with no light and a thin humid bed. The breakfast is composed of cereal, bread from 2 days ago, coffee, jam and dulce de lece. Sincerly for 200 pesos, it could have been ok, but at this price, it's really disapointing !
Review 67:Good points for the localisation and the mood of the living room, people working here are Nice. One girl speak english and is at the hôtel desk the morning.
Review 68:A lot of noise: on the street and inside from guests and the staff who kept making noise till far after midnight. Definitely not a place when you want to sleep. The very thin mattresses and pillows are not making it better...
Review 69:Very near to the city center, helpful staff, breakfast was ok, nice living area.
Review 70:only 2 bathrooms for 20 people
Review 71:Pool
Review 72:Our room was next to the kitchen so that it always smelled. Cockroache in the room on the first day. We can not not recommend
Review 73:noisy dark value for money
Review 74:great location great staff
Review 75:Wifi very slow when too much people are connected (which is all the time).
Review 76:Good facilities, clean and colorful...
Review 77:staff was very rude(grandma)
Review 78:pool hot water kitchen(but shortage stuff...)
Review 79:Small fridge and noise next to road.
Review 80:Location, good breakfast, and comfy beds.
Review 81:Not enough bathrooms and breakfast can run out if your not up early.
Review 82:Funky colourful interior with pool and helpful staff. Relaxed environment.
Review 83:Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 84:nothing really to say. maybe only that the WiFi didn't work in the room
Review 85:the flair at the hostel is good. and they have many bathrooms!
Review 86:I got a bed in a dorm facing the street. The noise was terrible! No idea even trying to sleep.
Review 87:The stuff was friendly but too busy
Review 88:No fixed silence hours for the night
Review 89:The staff was informed about the activities to do.
Review 90:Showers and rooms need renovating
Review 91:staff are great Great assado on first day Excursions
Review 92:not many sockets in the dorm room
Review 93:localisation friendly staff Wifi is OK
Review 94:Wifi good, close to plaza, you couñd really get a cozu day there! Oh,don't forget about living room! It is colorful and good atmosphere!
Review 95:Had trouble sleeping as my room was next to the road and REALLY noisy.
Review 96:Lots of space to relax. Great location.
Review 97:Nothing
Review 98:The best guesthouse during my travel in Argentina : very clean, nice staff, good breakfast
Review 99:The older woman didn't speak English and I very little Spanish so it was difficult to communicate
Review 100:The room Close to city center
Review 101:Clean and well run hostel in an excellent location. We would be happy to stay there again.
Review 102:Our very small room was between the kitchen and the common area and was very noisy until 2 a.m. and then we were woken up early by breakfadt being prepared. We did not get a good night's sleep in this hostel.
Review 103:The location was good (central for mosts sights) and the common are was nice, light and airy.
Review 104:The kitchen is not very well equiped (no spoon for example...)
Review 105:Very good hostel for the price, the rooms and dorms are cosy and clean, the breakfast is good and most of the staff is nice !
Review 106:Stayed in a double room, which was smelly and the 'water block' was dirty, no hot water, not even warm. It was cheap but would not stay there again, rather pay more for something more decent.
Review 107:Really helpful staff, good location.
Review 108:Unbelievably dirty, staff just sat at the computer and did nothing it blast their music all day, which meant it was impossible to sleep! At breakfast there was no coffee cups, or plates. The place was disgusting - the bathroom and the bedroom was one room, separated by a thin piece of glass. - basically your partner hears everything - so much for maintaining some privacy! Staff were useless, place was loud and dirty - do not stay here unless every single other thing in Salta is booked up!
Review 109:Window looking onto the inside of the building. They managed to put a table to support a huge flat screen TV in this small room... Breakfast was barely edible.
Review 110:It was cheap. Possibility to buy pesos at a relatively good rate. Good location. Despite the fact they only spoke spanish the staff was friendly
Review 111:It's untidy. Nothing works. The personal is unfriendly. The TV was old and did not well. They allowed smoking in the lounge which is forbidden by law in Argentina for guest which lived for some weeks there.
Review 112:Nothing.
Review 113:Ok, it's not a 4 star hotel and it's really cheap but, in thesame time, I can say that I found, in my journey, better places. Roomsare really small, no lockers, bathrooms are quite dirty and in one ofthem there wasn't cold water...yes, cold water. There was just hotwater and after the shower I was like a lobster! The kitchen is toosmall and not so good.
Review 114:I really liked the Asado night. It's a good way to know new peopleand have some fun. Good position, it's in the middle of the historiccenter. Really cheap.
Review 115:Don't go there. Although the hotel was almost empty, our room was verydirty when we arrived. They did some renovation but 'forgot' to cleanthe dust afterward. We asked to change for another room but none wasready, so we asked them to clean while we went out for dinner. It wasvery noisy, you could hear everything that was happening in the kitchen, corridor or living room. The hotel is nothing like in the pictures fromthis site and the breakfast was very very basic.
Review 116:No ventilation in room, so was ridicously hot Room faced onto road. The noise all night meant little sleep Had to have a staff member open the main gate to access the hotel at all times, when leaving and returning. Could they not give guests a key to the main door ? Coffee was poor
Review 117:Close to centre.
Review 118:English:I stayed there for 4 nights, paying for a double room with private bathroom. The price I payed wasn't any lower than the price of a similar room in a central hostel. The experience was horrible for several reasons:a) The sheets and towel were ever changed.b) My room was never cleaned, I had to make myself the bed each night.c) There was a strange stain of what seemed to be blood on the floor, just aside my bed.d) The room had big and unprotective windows that gave just on the sidewalk (ground floor). This meant permanent danger of theft -since there were no bars) and permanent noise all night long. They offered me another room, but it was maybe worse: just a bit bigger than the bed and without windows.e) Doors to my room had holes big as a fist.f) The so-called breakfast was awful (bad coffee and old croissants) and afterwards you had to wash the dishes.g) Worst of all: I was eaten alive, during the nights, by something that seems to be flees of some bed-bug. My body is covered with bites.Do NOT go there!
Review 119:English: The lobby was big and confortable. Español: La sala de estar era grande y con un sillón confortable.
Review 120:Not always clean, rooms very small
Review 121:Helpful staff and nice big common areas to relax in
Review 122:The sheets were a little old and the bed a little saggy.
Review 123:I loved the common area - very stylish and pleasant.
Review 124:This hostel would benefit from a little TLC The breakfast was very poor and there was ants in the kitchen
Review 125:Comfortable bed
Review 126:helpful stuff, rooms were good enough.
Review 127:Had to move room a couple of times due to problems with the boiler/shower.
Review 128:Friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere, good-value bbq night.
Review 129:Bathroom Sheets Thin walls
Review 130:Staff Location
Review 131:Breakfast is little
Review 132:Very friendly and helpful staff and clean hostel great value for moneyand fairly well located. Internet works well.
Review 133:Great staff
Review 134:The place is clean and tidy Amazing staff they help workers in problem It is highly recommended!
Review 135:wall on the street of shared room is all glass, so it is too noisy to stay.
Review 136:staffs are very frendly, kind and helpful. room and restroom are clean.
Review 137:I recommend not to stay in double room, located in semi-basement.
Review 138:Common use space is well-decorated.
