Reviews for Best Western Hotel Salobreña

Review 1:Could need a little maintenance work here and there. You'll need a car to get to the beach

Review 2:Wonderful views from rooms and terrasses. Could need a little maintenance work here and there

Review 3:Rooms 326 & 327 (my family has this room). What a disappointment having used this hotel twice before. Rooms not clean, 327 had no bath towels, paint from the ceiling was sat on top of the bed which the family had to sweep up, rooms let the rain water in, 326 our clothes were soaked through inside the fitted wardrobes as the rain came in there also. Really not a good choice of room this time around. The food was also very low class in our opinions (the 4of us). This is the most we paid for the room/s but even breakfast was not included! Rubbish!

Review 4:Coming back home!

Review 5:The man at the desk was surly when we arrived like we were unexpected guests he had to deal with. The hotel was packed with a wedding and bus tour groups and a conference but they didn't really impact upon us. There seemed to hardly any staff. No one outside to clean away drinks glasses rubbish etc. the building needs a facelift. It looks tired and old.

Review 6:The View makes up for everything. It's a bit out of the way so you can't walk to anything but my goodness the aspect is sensational. We had a corner room with 2 balconies and it was just stunning. The room was very comfortable and clean. Nice comfy beds and bathroom fine.

Review 7:Needs an upgrade getting rather dated. Used by Saga so most of the other residents are elderly.

Review 8:Great location with superb views over the Med. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 9:The hotel was very dated and in need of modernisation. The bar area and furnishings were reminiscent of a works canteen. The terrace around the pool area was a nice place to chill but spoilt by inconsiderate people sharing filthy smoke with us. We had two dinners in the restaurant and found the food not up to expectation and came to the conclusion that on the earlier dinner settings 19.30 - 21.00 the food available was recycled from lunchtime under a different guise Later the choice of food was different and freshly cooked and of a more acceptable standard. In our room on the third floor it was not possible to have a decent shower as the water pressure was almost non existent. I think that if we wanted a bath we would have to start running the water when we arrived on Friday and it would have been ready for Monday just before we left! Overall I can understand why the hotel is rated as three stars and over priced, there are two more hotels close by with half board less than the price of a room at Best Western and they both have equally pleasant views over the bay We live in España and know value for money in future will leave this hotel for foreign tourists.

Review 10:My wife and I spent Friday through to Monday at the hotel. The room we were allocated was on third floor and overlooked the pool area and to the sea in the direction of Salobreña with magnificent views of sun setting and rising. The terrace around the pool area was a nice place to chill but spoilt by the inconsiderate people smoking.

Review 11:Lights in the corridor are very poor and takes a while until they swith on so you have to walk in the dark for a bit. A little bit of maintenance necessary here and there since is old property, but still not too bad.

Review 12:Very quiet and very private rooms, able to be in the balcony and feel all by yourself with the nature and beautiful view of the sea. Very clean room.

Review 13:There was very loud music every evening from 10 o'clock till midnight on the terrace in front of the room. The thirth night the music went on till 2 o'clock in the morning (wedding) so we could not get any sleep at all. The receptionist said he could not do anything about it (although we paid to sleep)

Review 14:The view over the beautiful bay

Review 15:So many things made this a bad experience and a very poor value in high season. Very poor aircon. Wifi was often so bad we had to go to the lobby to use it--and then our feet were bitten by mosquitoes. Severe shortage of parking areas mean the crazies park everywhere, including within inches of your car. No change of towels or sheets, despite towels being left in tub. Rotting wood on the balcony, dated room, bad water stains on ceiling. But the worst was being locked out on our balcony when we didn't realize that by shutting the door to keep the mosquitoes out at dusk, we automatically locked ourselves out. This has never happened to either of us in all of our lives! We had to ask our neighbor in Spanish to call the desk to let us back in. The kind girl who came said it happens all the time! Well, duh, if it happens all the time, how about putting a warning note on the door or changing the mechanism so you can shut the door without locking yourself out?

Review 16:Nice pool and beautiful views.

Review 17:Staff was not welcoming and seemed more interested in conversating with Spanish travelers than helping foreigners. Techncial problems in room was not fixed within reasonable time-frame

Review 18:It's a little outside Salobreña so driving/taxi is mandatory. The staff's English isn't too great. Also, there was reconstruction going on in the room next door when I was there. Noisy.

Review 19:The pool and the view were amazing! And the air conditioning. And the terrace. All great.

Review 20:As I had the Suite i espect everything to be very good. The floor has not been clean, the coffe machin i had in room was not clean too, to close the entrance door you sould pull it up. When i comunicate those things to reception gave me another room wich was a normal room, after i had to go 5 times throu the hotel, I decide to go back for what I had first time but a someone came with me to see what was wrong, and after I show everything she ask me: Is that it? so I had no answer. very sad, but i really enjoy the view. also I order a Champagne and chocolate in room at the arrival and was nothing there.

Review 21:Directions not good. Seems a shortage of staff on duty. Restriction of Internet to reception was a little limiting

Review 22:View and balcony room was wonderful. Facilities as well as Library and available books was a nice touch. Staff in general friendly.

Review 23:The food in the self-service cafeteria was pretty awful and some areas looked in need of refurbishment (eg bathrooms).

Review 24:The views from our room. We had asked for sea views and we certainly got them.

Review 25:The hotel is in need of upgrading. It looks as though no money has been spent on it for years, The entertainment was poor. Sometimes very cold in the hotel when the wind blew up and the heating did not go on until 18.30. The food was adequate but not on a par with French cuisine in case one is expecting it.

Review 26:Apart from fantastic views, most of the staff, especially females, were most helpful. The availability of free tea and coffee very much appreciated. Bedrooms clean with a good mattress. Moses, the Saga rep, helped everyone and liaised with the hotel when misunderstandings arose.

Review 27:No hot water on either days we stayed there. Light bulbs missing in lamps or not working.

Review 28:Nice location with sea views from our room. Decent room size and presented well, spotless!!!

Review 29:Staff, Roms were not clean.breakfast was disgusting.average age of guest is about 60 to 70 but this fact dös not Leas to or true and bad Review. Location is only good regarding the sea viel.Next City is about 5 km away.I can't Understand the positive Feedbacks. If u think I am lying, to and See for Yourself.

Review 30:To be really honest ....nothing

Review 31:Decor is very dated both in the bedrooms and public areas.

Review 32:The view was amazing. We visited in December and were delighted by the hundreds of crag martins flying around the hotel and landing on our balcony each morning. Breakfast was very good, and staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 33:We asked for a double bed when booking we got singles, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Food average, there is room for improvement.

Review 34:Liked hotel, staff friendly, willing to please

Review 35:swimming pool freezing needs some solar panel heating. rooms need updating perhaps have some executive ones. no tea making facility in bedroom. breakfast tea/coffee machine not good.

Review 36:location. common areas. bar and terrasse. large bedrooms. nice staff.

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:Very comfortable room with a wonderful view. Love the free coffee making facilities and enjoyed relaxing in the common areas. Pool area is excellent.

Review 39:The swimming pool needed a clean. The evening enterainment started too late.We thought the restaurant food was rather expensive. Just before we left a large Saga party arrived, they were all inclusive and made the most of the free drink!thought it was the club 18-30!!

Review 40:The position of the hotel gave lovely views. Our room was very spacious with two balconies. Very clean.. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of relaxing areas.Lovely big swimming pool and plenty of pool chairs. Some nice inexpensive beach restaurants with fresh fish.

Review 41:surly bar/waiting staff who did not want to help unless you were spending money No fridge mini bar, no effort to help when I made it known that I had medication that had to be kept chilled. Poor TV channel choice, only Sky News and France 24 as English speaking channels I did not eat in the restaraunt but when I went to have a look the evening we arrived, breakfast was being laid at 9 pm

Review 42:Efficent front of house clean rooms good parking easy acess if you have a car Nice pool area

Review 43:the other receptionist guy wasnt very cheerful, seemed to be a bit bothered by us when we asked about buses etc. also, we had ants in our room, (room 234) we didnt complain as we are animal friendly :D however, housekeeping staff did great job every time we asked for servicing the room, although ants won the battle

Review 44:Maria the receptionist was very helpful. our room was amazing, with large balcony and stunning view over the sea and the village, we loved it, so we even prolonged the stay...

Review 45:The location was good, provided you had a car, without one it would prove difficult to get into Salobrena despite the courtesy bus. The free wifi did not extend to the bedrooms which was a little restrictive.

Review 46:The attitude of the staff was excellent. Our room was comfortable with a huge wrap around balcony which meant we had the sun all day. The food at breakfast was plentiful, everything you wanted and more!! Had one evening meal which was also excellent. Value for money was exceptional.

Review 47:For an international hotel chain, the choice of tv-channels seemed rater odd. Nothing in English. One German news channel. One French sports channel. Otherwise, only Spanish channels. The actual channels available were not those in the room guide, which had a more international listing.

Review 48:Great ocean view from balcony. Nice place to sit in the morning or evening. Excellent wifi.

Review 49:Felt sheets not changed enough. My partner had the same top sheet on his bed for about 4 days, knew this because it had a mark on it!!! Bathroom and bedroom floors not always as clean as could be.

Review 50:Air conditioning and fan.

Review 51:Full Board option is terrible. Hotel could not cope with the number of guests, it was like a meat market. One night we had to drive to the town to get a pizza as nothing left at buffet. Also paid extra to eat at the 'Gourmet Barbeque' again food was awful and burnt. attitude of staff poor, waited too long to be served. Beds uncomfy. Rooms need a huge refurb. To get anywhere you need a car.

Review 52:Excellent views The pool

Review 53:Food including breakfast could be better

Review 54:Location

Review 55:The staff where rude and very unhelpful. The meal at night was not good value for money.

Review 56:very tierd needs up dating, room balconys dangerous wooden ballastrad rotten, no lights of an evening in grounds, would not recamend,

Review 57:Very old non-furnished building. Bed & pillows hard as stone... Electricity made afful noise when thundering...

Review 58:Wonderfull seaview

Review 59:Parking is quite full.

Review 60:Romantic room is great.

Review 61:Needs refurbishment, looks tired.

Review 62:Great position overlooking the sea. Decent pool. Good value in high season

Review 63:Moskitos

Review 64:All the Rest

Review 65:Cliff top location and view over the sea.

Review 66:The only criticism was that the sette in our room was worn and thread bare. Needs renewing!!!!!

Review 67:The location was amazing the view was stunning

Review 68:Buffet worst ever seen. Hotel manager served different food!

Review 69:Room view

Review 70:Balcony need repair SASP!

Review 71:Perfect!

Review 72:Tired hotel.

Review 73:Views were incredible.

Review 74:could not connect to wi fi, but not a problem for a one night stay.

Review 75:Lovely gardens, views

Review 76:bedroom smell and noisy next door

Review 77:view food moved to good room. no smell or noise

Review 78:panoramic view of the sea from the balcony, you can spot a whale on the sea if you are lucky and I was a lucky one

Review 79:The rooms were large and comfortable. The place is quite and invites you to relax. Good breakfast and really helpful personal

Review 80:Rooms smell

Review 81:View

Review 82:the food during this visit was very poor & definitely only catered for the Spanish.

Review 83:almost everything

Review 84:Los bocadillos no son para tirar cohetes

Review 85:Las vistas molan mucho.

Review 86:Our room (454) was tremendous value for money, spacious with excellent views of both Salobrena village and the mountains.

Review 87:Mid june visit.Restaurant food covered in flies due to override of the main auto electronic door into restaurant by staff who also leave heavy restaurant side doors open which let in flies. It is easier for them to leave doors open as they are often walking through them.Raw eggs to be cooked at breakfast bar covered in bird faeces.Poor food /fruit variety and quality.Air conditioning in restaurant not working on first evening very hot unbearable ,had to ask staff if had any ,it was turned off! Weddings on sat and sun take over hotel and, entire pool area and pool full, noisy, football around pool, no regard for other guests at the hotel. Spanish school trip? children (about 25)arrived 16th June out of control, seemingly little adult supervision exhibit no regard for needs of other hotel guests pool full lounge noisy full treading on furniture . .

Review 88:Reception staff and manager tried to be very helpful about food and fly problem but could not solve.Pool and pool area is nice size but at weekend taken over by spanish wedding guests and there are school children on trips too. Hotel has splendid view as on cliff.Entertainers good

Review 89:Thankfully we were only there one night 24 June. When we arrived the pool was being used for organised games for the children so we found a balcony on the 5 floor where we sunbathed to the background of a loud whisle unable to use the pool. Which was fine. However at ten in the evening outdoor entertainment for the kids began again with music blasting at about 65 decibels. A call to reception informed us thst the family entertainment would stop at 11:00 it finally did at 11:45. Techno vibe blared throughout this time with the entertainers bellowing through microphones over the noise. We gave up on the idea of an early start and noticed that the adjacent villas in this location were empty and or for sale and we not surprised. Mid morning the music kicked off again as did the kids. I'd like to say great family hotel but as children and parents are forced to be unable to sleep before midnight I am not so sure. The 'entertainment' is on in the summer months only. Its not the activities themselves that are the problem it is that the staff choose to undertake them to music so loud that you are unable to have a conversation 50 mtrs away without shouting over the noise.

Review 90:The location of this hotel is fabulous, get a room with seaview and a balcony. Beds were very comfortable. It has convenient parking and a lovely pool. Would stay again but not in the summer months.

Review 91:This hotel from the 7 hotels we had during this Andalusia trip was the best - stunning sea views from the room, crystal clear sea water and the nice rocky beach with a Krulia dog which tried to save me :) Food is excellent clean air and good swimming pool, plenty of place - large hotel territory and nice walking roads to the sea make me want to return here again

Review 92:There wasn't anything we didn't like!

Review 93:The rooms were a very good size, the view was particularly spectacular, the food was good, plenty of choice, reasonably priced and worth another visit.

Review 94:the buffet food was a little disappointing and quite expensive. no kettle in room for tea/coffee

Review 95:superb swimming pool ,amazing views. the courtesy bus to salobrena made for a relaxing stay

Review 96:The mattresses are very uncomfortable, the furnitures in general old. The Staff speak very little english. Wifi is not working in the room.

Review 97:the property is located on the hill with view on the sea - very nice!

Review 98:The beds were very uncomfortable and springy. We arrived late at night and the only food available was a very bad ham and cheese sandwich from the bar. The shower curtain was not long enough to fit in the bathtub, so water sprayed all over the bathroom floor when we took showers.

Review 99:We only stayed here one night so we could visit Salobreña the next day.

Review 100:The food in the restaurant was cold many times so we did not use the restaurant very much after the first two days.

Review 101:Location is very good and situation and amenities were OK. The evening entertainment was very good. The head waiter in the restaurant was very obliging and helpful.

Review 102:we couldn't get food other than pick it up and take it too the room because of the dog

Review 103:dog friendly, they let dog stay in the room, friendly staff, stunning sea views, free tea, coffee as much as you want from machine by dinning room, easy parking and easy to find.

Review 104:Was EXTREMELY disappointed having stayed there before. The room was overlooking a carpark with no balcony, and we were paying the same price as for a seaview balcony room. Furnishings were sparse.

Review 105:Nothing this stay

Review 106:Wi Fi was a bit slow

Review 107:Location, and the courtesy bus to the town, parking was good, activities for the children was great for all to join in, food was good

Review 108:Too many over hyperactive Children high as kites on sugary treats.....funny to watch though grin! I got used to it with ear plugs!

Review 109:Very clean bright room Excellent choice of food Hard working Staff They take pets

Review 110:Be sure to bring your booking.com pricing confirmation with you - at check out they were going to double charge us for the extra bed, and add breakfast (which we'd already included at booking). If you're looking forward to a quiet evening in the summer, it might not be your cup of tea. Entertainment programs every night until midnight.

Review 111:Gorgeous location & views, nice pool area. Sitting outside by the pool at breakfast was great (we found that arriving later for breakfast ensured more food/ space). We liked that the other guests were virtually all Spanish - made you feel like you were actually in Spain (although my daughter may disagree with me on that one).

Review 112:Everything. Worse hotel we have ever stayed in. Food not fit to give to dog - breakfast looked like pig-swill on plate. Staff very noisy in diningroom. Two Saga guests bored us to tears on first night so this along with nothing decent to eat made us leave after one night.

Review 113:Fair distance from Salobrena, tricky turning into hotel on return from Salobrena, not well sign posted.

Review 114:Room pleasant lovely view from terrace of Salobrena. Very clean and light.

Review 115:...obviously it is a large international chain and therefore hasn't got that local feeling that smaller hotels have

Review 116:we did a one night stopover on the way back to Malaga airport - room was very spacious and location was pleasant.

Review 117:Room needed a upgrade, slightly old fashioned.

Review 118:When going on holiday, we do prefer to have tea/coffee making facilities in our room.

Review 119:Loved it all. Would certainly return for a longer stay.

Review 120:Location a bit far out but perfect for a quite getaway

Review 121:Relaxing atmosphere

Review 122:No coffee maker in room.

Review 123:Balcony, pool, gardens and views, very pleasant. Room very basic, but only needed a one night stay enroute to destination.

Review 124:the restaurent buffet menu, poor quality and expensive 18 Euros

Review 125:the view

Review 126:Everything

Review 127:Convenient and good value for money

Review 128:perhaps the meals a bit pricey but town not far away

Review 129:Excellent view from room; Swimming pool facility great good parking

Review 130:The evening meal didn't live up to the rest off the hotel.

Review 131:The location was superb. The room large, clean with a great view.

Review 132:Meal was very ordinary with no real choice.

Review 133:Access to the hotel, free parking, room size, view, cleanliness

Review 134:Our third visit - so there is nothing we dislike.

Review 135:Ambience - well organised hotel. Staff friendly and courteous.

Review 136:The Evening buffet could be improved.

Review 137:General professional attitude in a quality setting with complimentary extras.
