Reviews for Hostal Acuarela

Review 1:Bit of a walk to the cathedral area, but not too bad. The only thing I didn't care for was the noise from the restaurant/bar next door, which went on well past midnight on my second night there (a Friday night). Didn't notice it the first night perhaps because I was so tired from a week on the Camino.

Review 2:After being on the Camino for a week it was wonderful to have a private room and bath!!! Facility and room were very nice. Liked the free breakfast the hotel offered. Coffee and juice were available even at night.

Review 3:Restaurant next door was a little noisy until early hours of the morning but closed the window and no problem

Review 4:Perfect for a solo traveller looking for somewhere clean and safe.

Review 5:My room was a bit small, wi fi better at reception than in room (3.floor)

Review 6:Lap top in room is excellent, hotel is modern and fresh, reception very friendly and helpful

Review 7:A 10 minute walk from the center of the old town. The rooms were well designed but very small, especially the bed. Breakfast just adequate. No hair dryers in the room. Toilet seat was broken.

Review 8:Very clean and efficiently run. Well priced.

Review 9:It was noisy! Plumbing noise, people talking inside and outside the hotel. Such a shame!

Review 10:Friendly welcome, spacious room, free all-day coffee. Plus a good location.

Review 11:We have stayed before and found it very quiet and easy to sleep. On a Saturday it is bedlam outside and the noise goes on all night. Avoid Saturday

Review 12:Efficient friendly staff, comfortable bed good shower underground parking spotlessly clean

Review 13:It was perfect! I have absolutely no complaints.

Review 14:This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. After hiking the Camino for 300k, I was told by an excellent physiotherapist (right next door to the hotel) that I had Achilles tendinitis and that I had to rest my legs for a few more days. In the end, I spent a week at this hotel in a sunny and quiet room facing onto a courtyard. The staff was so kind and friendly, the room was wonderfully clean and modern and the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the old streets of Burgos and the cathedral. There are also many fruit vendors and grocery stores near the hotel. It was also lovely to be able to have breakfast with a croissant and espresso (included in the price) every morning and to be able to read in their little cafe to have a change of scenery from my room. Finally, I was so happy to have a computer with Internet in the room during my stay so that I could stay in touch with my partner and friends as well as continue practising my Spanish on BBC online Spanish. I hope to return to this hotel again! Highly recommended to single women travellers as well as to everyone else.

Review 15:The first room we were given smelled very intensely of stale smoke, despite the entire hotel being non-smoking. However, when we complained we were switched to another room immediately. So not a big deal.

Review 16:Very modern and comfortable room. Comfortable large bed. Laptop in every room. Excellent spa-style shower. Buffet breakfast included even though it wasn't stated as such in the booking. The breakfast was a bit basic, but unexpected so no complaints. Great location on a quiet street just outside the old town. 15 minutes walk to the cathedral. Best value for money. Free drinks and snacks 24h. Classified as Hostal, but better than some 3-star hotels we've stayed at.

Review 17:Instant coffee Uncomfortable chairs in breakfast room Non central location We needed a room card each

Review 18:Breakfast facilities Lovely room and bathroom Quiet at night Friendly staff

Review 19:No complaints - more than exceeded my expectations

Review 20:My Spanish is less than perfect...they were very helpful, not only in helping me find my way while walking the city but also to find the camino de Santiago as I was a peregrina

Review 21:This is a restored village house with many original features in the heart of Camino country. The famous cross marking the highest point on the Camino is nearby. The climate and hilly countryside are glorious. The rooms face onto a pleasant common courtyard where you can sit out. The staff are very attentive and friendly and I was given a very helpful presentation of places to visit. The food was good.

Review 22:Pet friendly, great for walking the Camino, breakfast

Review 23:Great location. Close to both city centre and motorway exits

Review 24:very friendly and excellent service
