Reviews for Hotel Maria Luisa

Review 1:The people in hotel Maria Luisa were really nice with us, treated us as speacial guests, and the place is very cozy and clean. Recommended for everyone!

Review 2:Small room and poor Wi-Fi

Review 3:Ideal position for us, clean & comfortable., and they recommended a great Argentinian restraurant, only 5 minutes walk away.

Review 4:I was welcomed back with a big hug. Even though they did not speak English, we were able to communicate well enough to not have any problems and find a nice place locally for tapas.

Review 5:The Man in charge, Miguel, was a delight to meet. He was so obviously proud of his hotel and his area that he gave us many tips on where to visit, where to eat and which was the best scenic route to take to our next destination. PS, excellent breakfast of local delights.

Review 6:Minor annoyance - coffee and tea must be asked for at the bar - no self-serve.

Review 7:Very helpful staff, excellent location for us (we were going to Gibraltar for a day visit). Close to the port and especially to the bus station for Gibraltar. From above the port great view of the Gibraltar "Rock". Excellent "Casa Pepe" tapas restaurant nearby - good and affordable. Must go later in evening when the place is getting very lively. Free parking behind the hotel, no issue with space, very safe and quiet area. Even safer during our stay as many special police officers on duty were there. Excellent and varied self-serve breakfast. Comfortable room, large beds, large and well equipped private bathroom. Very clean and well maintained overall.

Review 8:a bit far from some decent places to eat, tiny room, strange breakfast (included) with only a selection of gems, sweets and pates all packaged (so nothing fresh)

Review 9:free parking spaces available near the hotel

Review 10:As people will see from my previous reviews, I have been to this hotel a few times before. In the Gibraltar/La Linea/Algeciras area there are plenty of hotels to chose from. The team that run the place are super friendly and very welcoming to guests - especially cyclists. I now regard the Hotel Maria Lucia as my home in South Andalucía. I am very much looking forward to staying there again in 2016 :-)

Review 11:We had a room for a familiy of four and the room was very small with four twin beds. The shower is tiny.

Review 12:This hotel is close to interstate and beach. The beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet.

Review 13:Everything! The manager was so helpful, going out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome! Literally went above and beyond for everything and was the friendliest hotel manager we have ever met! Thank you!

Review 14:Parking is limited, but had no problems finding a place.

Review 15:Could not fault the staff. Properly the best in friendliness and helpfulness that I have encountered whilst staying at hotels. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. For the value it is outstanding in every aspect.

Review 16:When I checked out the credit card machine did not work (staff tried it with his own card; it didn't work with any card). Luckily I had just enough cash to pay for the room, otherwise I don;t know how we would've handled it.

Review 17:The overnight staff was extremely friendly, even inviting us to use their little cafe to eat our take-out food, offering glasses for out take-out beer.

Review 18:breakfast below the average of others pensions/hotels in Andalucia

Review 19:nice and clean hotel/room. the hotel is not located close to the center but it has a good location to sleep a night and continue the trip to more important destinations in Andalucia. the staff is nice.

Review 20:I like toast and pâté so breakfast was okay for me but if you need fruit etc.! No frills place

Review 21:Was just passing through.not a place to holiday but does thejob for the price..warm.good for drivers as just off the road ...

Review 22:Small window but not a big deal.

Review 23:Close to main roads (if with a car), free parking (though public), good breakfast, clean and spacious rooms and a good choice of TV channels. Staff polite and helpful. Good value for the money.

Review 24:Bit far-away from the port if you are arriving from Morocco, but taxicosts 5-6 euros so not a big deal.

Review 25:Fast wi-fi Helpful staff Very easy access to and from Gibraltar, idealfor a day trip

Review 26:It's not close to the train and couch station, but taxi chargesa few euros

Review 27:Staff was pleasant and helpful, they served me the breakfast even thoughI had to leave at 6am and the kitchen should be closed. Great rooms, bathroom clean and mattress really comfortable

Review 28:location, hard to find.

Review 29:Ground floor room, compact but clean and tidy. Host came and collected us from a few streets away ( lost). Felt very save, police use as a local.

Review 30:The hotel was very very simple, no extraordinary interior or fuss, we stayed there for two nights to visit both Tangir and Gibraltar. It was very close to the highway so easy to find and easy to leave, the breakfast included was a fresh coffee and a toast. Even though the hotel was very simple we absolutely loved our stay here, the hotel manager was a delight to meet. He was so so kind and helpful and generous, we would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit the places nearby! Bear in mind that the hotel lies in a not touristy area at all, very few shops and restaurants, but absolutely perfect for moonlight walks and trips to Morocco and Gibraltar.

Review 31:Not enough towels

Review 32:Very friendly and helpful. Great toast for breakfast.

Review 33:very safe hotel

Review 34:A nice hotel run by a friendly team.

Review 35:Miguel was great. Always helpful with anything we needed and gave us a lot of great tips. The parking is free and the room is clean.

Review 36:problematiska pastatyti auto prie viesbucio.

Review 37:Labai malonus ir rupestingas personalas. Pusryciai pakankami.lovos patogios.

Review 38:location good staff very helpful & friendly Value for money

Review 39:None

Review 40:It's only twenty minutes from the Gibralar border crossing, east to get to and easy to park. The pizza restaurant behind is a must try!

Review 41:Everything is perfect, the owner is very friendly, Comfortable room, clean. nice service, good breakfast.

Review 42:1. Very good location. 2. Friendly staff. 3. Very reasonable comfort/price ratio. 4. Room was clean and tidy. 5. Perfect place for short stay.

Review 43:A very friendly and helpful manager and staff. Small bar where a basic but filling breakfast is served. Locals eat there too. Room clean and well serviced with plenty of cupboard space.

Review 44:I have no comments to make about the hotel in this box as the hotel was perfect: I would like to mention one thing about Algeciras for any cyclist. The road network in the immediate area of Algeciras is not easy, but not this hotel is a great base as there are great cycle routes in this area

Review 45:This hotel is owned has to be one of the most friendly places I have stayed on. The owners treat clients as family making people very welcome. As a cyclist who was on a cycle trip from London to Africa, they were able to store my bike in a secure room. As keen cyclists, the owners will make any cyclist very welcome.

Review 46:The room description included tea/coffee making facilities...no such facilities were available, without going to the main reception/bar area. We asked for a quite room - it wasn't (faced on to an all-night taxi rank.

Review 47:Staff were very helpful, and knowledgeable in answering our questions.

Review 48:This is only a 1 star hotel. However, each member of it's staff did their best to help and advise us on where to go and, indeed how to get there. We had no issues at all.

Review 49:It is a small hotel in walking distance from city center. It was functional, but not charming. Free parking was positive, but the breakfast was of the very simplistic sort.

Review 50:Very small room. Nobody speaking English. Very poor breakfast.

Review 51:Clean room, friendly staff, they changed our room with broken air-conditioned. They also allowed us to use the reception fridge. Free parking right to hotel door. Perfect hotel for a 1 night stay in transit at the outskirts of Algeciras with easy access to highway.

Review 52:Hotel is not near anything interesting. Algeciras is a simple port town that was just used as a pit stop for us along the way to Tarifa and Morrocco. The building itself was in a working class neighborhood and reminded me of a British counsel house.

Review 53:Clean rooms.

Review 54:none

Review 55:very helpful staff.

Review 56:small rooms

Review 57:price, location and friendly staff

Review 58:Modern, comfortable

Review 63:Staff very friendly and helpfull Good breakfast Easy to find Quiet Easy to reach the ferry terminal

Review 64:Very good quality for the price. The host is very kind. Ask him about the restaurant Pescadores Bar, this is very good as a local place to eat.

Review 65:There was nothink we didn´t like.

Review 66:Very friendly staff, great hospitality, comfortable room, simple but pleasant breakfest, possibility of parking
