Reviews for Palacio de los Blasones Suites

Review 1:The address on site is incorrect. The address given is for another hotel. The hotel is on a pedestrian street and access is by pressing a button on street which does not work. Clients are intimidated by gypsies in vicinity of hotel. It's unsafe.

Review 2:we were there on a saturday night and there was a lot of noice until 0300 AM on the surrounding streets. Breakfast was very expensive, we didn't book it.

Review 3:the location is perfect.

Review 4:Air-con blew warm air into the room, ended up having to open window. Parking was included but we ended up having to park on street as there was a barrier at end of hotel's street which block our entry.

Review 5:Great location, nice hotel and beautiful town.

Review 6:The bathroom was very narrow, and we are not fatties! The evening meals don't begin till 20.30, and whilst we understand this is the Spanish way, it is late for us oldies to eat.

Review 7:It was easy to walk around Burgos, which is a wonderful city. Able to park car securely in garage although it is underground and a bit tight for a big one.

Review 8:The junior suite was dark and relatively small. The air conditioning only blew out warm air. Also even with the aid of the GPS system the hotel was difficult to locate. The route was down very narrow winding roads that were congested with badly parked cars.

Review 9:Its location which is very close to the Cathedral and the beautiful town.

Review 10:This is not a bad experience but something we did not understand. We booked 2 rooms for 3 people. The person in the single room had breakfast included in the cost and the two people sharing did not have breakfast. We did not understand why?

Review 11:The location of the hotel was excellent, the staff very helpful and pleasant The rooms were good.

Review 12:Breakfast was disappointing and understaffed. We arrived to a beautiful dining room with the empty tables filled with used plates do we had to sit in a dark side room . They did not refill the empty buffet plates so there was no choice and very little breakfast. This was at 9am.

Review 13:Great location. Good room for me with my two children . Really helpful reception people Some people comment parking in their car park is difficult but we parked a VW caddy in there no problem !

Review 14:Incredibly loud constant noise from 6 am until 11.30 am, thin walls, no soundproofing at all, old dusty carpets in the room, parking - very expensive and frankly dangerous.

Review 15:Great location, but impossible to find by car (it is a pedestrian area only accessible after consulting the staff).

Review 16:Staff were very helpful. Two story suite was an interesting twist. The garage was a true once in a lifetime experience with a large car! Requires manoeuvring skills.

Review 17:We forgot some personal property, including a camera and a videocamera. The hotel refused to forward this to us at our expense. They argued it was our own fault if we forgot behind some personal belongings and it was up to us to arrange for a company to go there and pick them up and send them to us during our travel. Staff was not only unhelpful but also very unfriendly saying this was hotel policy to follow. Quite shocking.

Review 18:Its proximity to the Cathedral and the centre.

Review 19:Breakfast quality not aligned with rest standing level of the place

Review 20:Perfect location, charming hotel, nice and professional reception employees, a real good value

Review 21:Hotel parking is hard to navigate, and it would have been better if we had had instructions about how to navigate the pedestrian-only street where the underground parking is located prior to our arrival.

Review 22:Excellent location, efficient if rather impersonal service. Reasonably quiet (actually rather down at heel) street for a Spanish city centre.

Review 23:Bathroom not the biggest, poor Wifi. Hard to get too as it's located in the pedestrian area.

Review 24:Very nice Hotel in a great position once you are there. Underground parking but you would be extremely lucky to find the place without asking. Lovely place for a flying visit.

Review 25:The breakfast was a bit expensive for what it was.

Review 26:Very comfortable room. Our baby had his own room to sleep in which wasn't expected in a hotel. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The location was perfect!

Review 27:But its not that easy to find - we had a local pizza delivery guy say 'follow me and I'll take you there' but he took us to a hotel that had the name of the street the Palacio des Blassones is in (whose name I forget now).

Review 28:Being within walking distance to a brilliant Cathedral & town centre. Also the excellent underground hotel car park.

Review 29:room was very basic and dated (we had the split level room). Fair bit of noise between rooms.

Review 30:well located with very welcoming staff and good breakfast. Nice public areas.

Review 31:Very difficult to find by car as it is in a pedestrian area.

Review 32:Very well located in the centre of Burgos. Very convenient for sightseeing and bars/restaurants. Junior suite with separate lounge and bedroom was great.

Review 33:If you have a large car or SUV be aware that the entrance to the car park is extremely tight.

Review 34:Great location for exploring the city. Underground parking for which you pay extra.

Review 35:Great difficulty finding the way to the hotel by car. Did not realise we could drive on paved as opposed to tarred road. Parking garage not easy to manoeuvre9

Review 36:Excellent situation in a really beautiful city

Review 37:Lovely spacious clean room and comfy beds. Central location too. Great place for pilgrims to rest in comfort! Thank you to the staff for their help. Fully recommend! Only thing I would ask for is tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom.

Review 38:Strange, strong air freshener smell in the room.

Review 39:Really nice hotel in the best location. A little hard to find as you need to follow a restricted road but if the barrier is up just press the button and follow the road to the end. Secure car park, if you have a large car email the hotel as there are different size areas. Room was a dupex the down stairs was a small seating area with TV and large window ( no view ) the upstairs was a large bedroom but a lack of windows ( one very small and a covered sky light which you could not access), nice small bathroom. Nice bar and restaurant, good breakfast.

Review 40:we were travelling up from Toledo to Santander after my husband hurt his back. We wanted areally nice hotel, close to the centre where we could enjoy a good meal for his birthday

Review 41:It was a busy weekend evening with a lot of parties. As s result the staff were a bit stretched but we're still helpful.

Review 42:Large room, view of Cathedral, great breakfast

Review 43:Front desk staff not very friendly to pilgrims except for the breakfast waiter. No 'sello' for pilgrims.

Review 44:Location. And common parts of the hotel beautifully designed

Review 45:GPS doesn't calculate the location well plus it is on pedestrian only roads that cars can drive on but that is not easily determined. After going in circles only a call to the hotel clarified this.

Review 46:Incredible location in old town near Cathedral

Review 47:Finding the hotel was difficult (it even had the satnav confused) so some clearer instructions would have been appreciated. Obtaining some boiling water (agua irviendo, in case you're looking for some, too...) was not easy - I think staff were as flummoxed as the satnav

Review 48:The location was perfect for seeing this beautiful city. The bedroom was fine and the breakfast excellent - good quality and a wide range of interesting choices.

Review 49:Nothing bad.

Review 50:Great location. Despite the varied reviews re finding the hotel and the difficult parking we found the hotel easily (you need to get the accurate directions off the hotel website) and parking was no problem.

Review 51:Breakfast is pricey.

Review 52:Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel right on the Camino route. Nice staff that was quite helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Beautiful two story room was roomy and comfortable. Loved the location and its proximity to the Cathedral, restaurants and shopping.

Review 53:it's not so easy to find the hotel (it's inside the closed access old town part) / to much of a fuss for getting a car park space at their garage

Review 54:location is perfect / lots of good restaurants near the hotel (you just have to take a step outside to find a good Spanish tapas-like place to eat and drink) / extremely nice room / price of the room was below of what we expected for it / friendly staff but sincerely we have seen few people (staff) inside the hotel and anyway we think that's kind of positive

Review 55:What a beautiful town and Hotel... Wonder location in the center of restaurants shops, and the most beautiful church (with no crowds or lines to get in) one of my favorite towns.

Review 56:A two storey room is a problem with the bedroom upstairs from the entry, the main heavy bag had to be left downstairs.

Review 57:The spacious rooms and generous bathrooms, but a two level room could be a problem.

Review 58:This hotel was fabulous after a long cold and rainy walk on the camino. It is right down from the Hostel and Cathedral in Burgos. It is wonderful. The bartender recommended a restaurant right near the hotel called La Mafia and it was hands down the best restaurant I ate in all across the camino. It's Italian and excellent! Go eat there if you have the opportunity! I highly recommend this hotel!

Review 59:Our car was stuck in the underground car park and it took me and 3 staff members plus a carpet roll to get it out. The staff told us this happens a least twice a week!!!

Review 60:The location

Review 61:Parking is in hotel, but very tight...hold your breath driving in and out!

Review 62:On the Camino...pilgrims walked past Very close to cathedral, everything in Burgos

Review 63:Had junior suite. Living/office area unwelcoming with just a roof light. We also ended up with one of the few rooms without a balcony which was a shame

Review 64:Location, helpfulness of staff

Review 65:Nothing.

Review 66:We stayed at the hotel for our second night in Burgos. Location was excellent right on the Camino and near the Albergue. A bath, a real bed and a sitting area made it feel like heaven! Lovely stay and many other pilgrims stayed too.

Review 67:Good location, within easy walking distance of the cathedral, the tapas bars, the Plaza Major. Never used the restaurant, it did look very nice. The bedroon had an adjacent room therefore space was considerable, that said the one room was more than adequate. Good bathroom.

Review 68:Excellent size of junior suite..balcony very small however. Good breakfast with attentive but friendly staff. All staff knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent location in centre of historic town but quiet at night.

Review 69:Good breakfasts & room service meal. Location great for cathedral and other attractions. I had a junior suite. The bedroom was comfortable and well-lit and complete with a safe. The adjoining room was fairly small with a desk ( that included the refrigerator/mini-bar). Lighting there was too dim for my tastes but one light bulb was missing and I didn't request a replacement since had pretty much everything I needed in the bedroom. Bath, although small, looked like it was newly outfitted and the shower was excellent.

Review 70:Very few English speaking tv channels.

Review 71:Parking in underground of hotel as it is in a pedestrianized area. Easy walking to see everything we wanted to see.

Review 72:Parking spaces difficult to get into if you have a big car. We have a volvo v70 estate which is not easy to lock round corners and pillars!

Review 73:The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly

Review 74:Non smoking room smelt of cigarettes and staff response was there were no other rooms available. Tried to get us to use a car park space that was impossible to access

Review 75:Location.

Review 76:Nothing

Review 77:The receptionist was extremely welcoming. We decided to eat in as we were tired after a long drive and used the hotel restaurant. The menu offered a set meal for 18 euros - which we had - and it was really splendid. The waiter was very good indeed and made our evening really very enjoyable The food was lovely, the menu all having been carefully explained to us by the waiter, so we knew what to choose.

Review 78:Bit tricky to get to as it is in a pedestrian zone- laminate floors in the bedrooms spoil the overall impression of antiquity.

Review 79:Modern hotel in historic facade. Very helpful reception staff ( the Spanish can be difficult!), quiet, central location. Reasonable on site car parking fee and good WiFi in the room.

Review 80:- there is not much insulation from noise between the rooms so you can hear the person in the bathroom from adjoining room. - Also, avoid a room next to the elevator as you can hear it all night.

Review 81:- all employees were very helpful and extremely friendly. Great service at reception and in the bar and restaurant. - the look and feel of the hotel is nicely done and restored. -location is great. -the junior suites are well laid-out with a separate pull out sofa bed in a separate small room.

Review 82:The only imperfection was the sofa bed which was like being on metal curtains (well, I imagine it would be like that).

Review 83:Nice staff, very helpful. Very nice large suite. Nice location, calm, near the center, in limited traffic area (road with retractable bollard).

Review 84:The suite was on the top floor and the air conditioning wasn't strong enough to cool the room. At breakfast, the lady was not very polite with the guest. She kept the door of the breakfast room opened and insisted on timetables that were not visible and told us off because we were 3 minutes before time. For a 4 star hotel, staff had to be more polite and either close the door until everything was ready or ask us to wait. After all, we were paying considerably to stay in the hotel and didn't have to be treated as misbeheaved kids.

Review 85:We enjoyed the rooms, the space and the location a lot.

Review 86:Poor or non existent internet service, but the front desk let me use their computer to check my flights.

Review 87:Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Rooms were clean and well appointed.

Review 88:The hotel was in a perfect spot with good parking. The staff were really helpful and the restaurant was a really nice room with a good choice for breakfast. A great bar was nearby with a good restaurant and lovely tapas always busy with locals too. The sites were all within easy walking distance with some nice shops to look at too.

Review 89:Difficult to find, it is in a restricted access area, there was no information about the access, when we did find it we were absolutely delighted with the location very near the main square

Review 90:Breakfast didn't look amazing and was expensive for what seemed tobe on offer so we ducked out and went to a local cafe.

Review 91:We booked a duplex room on the fourth floor and enjoyed having the extraspace - living area on lower level and bedroom/bathroom above. Roomdecor beginning to look a bit tired and in need of renewal, butcomfortable nonetheless. The hotel is very central - only a couple of minutes walk from the Plaza Major. Previous reviews indicated it wasn't a good idea to try to get to the hotel by car so we parked in the underground car park below the Plaza Major - a couple of Euros extra cost for 24 hours but less hassle, especially as our car (Renault Megane) would apparently have been too long to get to the lower levels of the hotel's parking area. The hotel has quite a few restaurants and cafes nearby and is very convenient for visits to the cathedral and the other sights of Burgos. All in all, a good place to stay for a couple of days.

Review 92:The Junior Suite isn't really a suite at all.The livingroom is only a space they couldn't do anything else with The parking is a nightmare and the lower level isn't suitable for anything bigger than a compact car.

Review 93:The hotel is very well located for the city centre.

Review 94:service during breakfast during second day (other personnel, only got my coffee when I had to give my room number for breakfast while it was not particularly busy),

Review 95:Excellent and helpful reception, very nice room with lot of space and very clean, excellent service during breakfast at first day of my stay

Review 96:As the hotel is located in a pedestrian area i found it very hard to find even with a sat nav.Exact location should be shown on hotel site

Review 97:Location

Review 98:Too hot in the room!

Review 99:Everything,especially the secure parking as l had a full car from UK to Competa

Review 100:Hotel rooms are a bit outdated. But price compensates.

Review 101:Great value for money. Great location.

Review 102:Parking too expensive compare to the room rate

Review 103:nice room on two levels. Very good value and nice location (right in the centre)

Review 104:Convenient for the Camino. Very close to wonderful tapas places. Bathtub to soak away the weariness of the day's walk.

Review 105:nonbad experience just wasn't fabulous

Review 106:It is a great hotel right in the camino.

Review 107:Location location location. Great laundry service.

Review 108:Ability to park car, ample space in room.

Review 109:Parking very difficult to maneuver. Unsuitable for people with young children needing a cot. Location not easy to find.

Review 110:Staff were helpful

Review 111:Staff were excellent and very helpful. The location is perfect. Lovely breakfast.

Review 112:The breakfast is not worth it !

Review 113:The hotel is at a perfect Location. The design really nice.

Review 114:Parking charge

Review 115:Location, comfort and lovely staff

Review 116:This hotel was just about perfect.

Review 117:Very difficult to find

Review 118:Central location

Review 119:Unusual room layout was quirky and interesting. Very cool, which was a godsend given that it reached 40 degrees at one point during the day.

Review 120:wonderful location - close to touristic attractions and to restaurants clean;very good service

Review 121:The restaurant and the quality of their meals

Review 122:Everything was fantastic. Aircon could be a little more powerful.

Review 123:The location is unbeatable. Comfortable room. Excellent staff. Very good price.
