Reviews for Hotel Rice Maria Luisa
Review 1:We were four in a room, the smallest beds were uncomfortable. They switched off the heating in the middle of the night and Burgos in winter is quite freezy at night
Review 2:Good breakfast Cheap for what you get
Review 3:Hotel signage is subtle and elegant but we had to circle twice around to locate the hotel by car. We could not find parking in front to check in. Park behind hotel, and ring door bell!
Review 4:Staff were friendly, and quick to respond to our needs. Short walking distance to the plaza, Hotel was near bakery, grocery store, banks. Street Parking behind hotel was free from 8 pm to 10 am.
Review 5:The main "complaint" was the parking was in an underground car-park nearby opposite the hotel - NOT onsite as the booking.com facilities states. This was a concern for me as I prefer my motorbike to be in a smaller onsite park, than a big shared car park. Apart from the hideous 4x charges, the hotel was okay. If I'd paid normal prices, I'd probably be easier going. The room was okay, a bit dated.
Review 6:We managed to get a room here last minute, but during the "Spain Day" national holiday. Everywhere, that was left, was a complete rip off - around 4x normal prices - though at least there was a room. The hotel is a bit of a distance from the old town. They have parking reserved in an underground car-park nearby. The lady on desk in the morning was very friendly and consoled me on the high prices, the lady on the previous evening was not so friendly.
Review 7:Excellent place to stay. I scored it excellent for value for money - although it was the most expensive place we stayed it was also the one of the best (only beaten by the personal welcome we received at a smaller venue).
Review 8:The airco/temperature regulation did not seem to work. In the night it was unexpectedly cold and I could not find an extra blanket n the room, so I used the big towels from the bathroom to get warm.
Review 9:At walking distance from the old town. There goes a bus directly to and from the train station (25). The room included fascilities such as small bottles of water and a map of the city, which I thought was very nice. I slept on the top floor, and I was there on a Sunday, but there was no noise as some of the previous guests have commented. The breakfast was nice.
Review 10:The bath was not very safe to get out of over the front of the bath and the bathroom was cramped it could do with having the bidet removed so the door would open fully.
Review 11:It was convenient for the centre of Burgos and the underground parking was good.
Review 12:Breakfast was not included, full breakfast would have cost 7€, parking lots for the car are a little bit small
Review 13:Hotel is easy reachable per car, friendly and helpful staff, parking garage right in the front of the hotel. Room was clean, very comfortabel and spaceous, bath tube wi-fi was very good, small breakfast for 3,50€. You can reach the cathedral in ca. 10 min per pedes also the museum of human evolution great value for the price
Review 14:The WIFI was only accessible from near to the door of our room, which wS not very convenient. There was no lounge that I found to sit in.
Review 15:It was fair value for money, not far from the tourist area.
Review 16:Old rooms , hard beds, thin walls ( could here people next door talk and snoring ) tv plug hanging out , wall plug stockets didn't work . Plumbing noises in the night woke me up . Sounded like someone was showering in my room . Not sure if it was the hotels plumbing or the apartments above the hotel as its in a residential block.
Review 17:Staff were nice , wifi worked , mini bar costs cheap compared to other hotels. Car parking underground
Review 18:Shower head in centre of bath is a bit awkward with no shower curtain clothes get soaked. If you sit up in bed the bed slides from under you!! Parking was private but at €10.00 a night a bit expensive.
Review 19:Nice clean room, good facilities,Warm and cosy.
Review 20:We had a weekday deal, so it was good value of money and close to old town and hill where you can go to see the whole town. Hotel is very old fashioned style and we loved it.
Review 21:The location was a about a 10 minute walk from the centre.
Review 22:The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet despite the hotel being on a busy street. The room was comfortable. Good wifi in the room. Underground secure parking just next to the hotel.
Review 23:the place is a bit run-down, the rooms are very small and, at least the ones we got, were noisy and poorly isolated, so you would hear every snore from the neighbouring rooms. the rooms were not clean and smelled like stale cigarette smoke. at least one of the towels were not clean
Review 24:the location: in walking distance to the city center while easy to reach by car from the motorway. staff was also very professional and accommodating to our questions and specific needts
Review 25:Wifi is a bit complicated to log-in and not too fast. Even they say it is in a very good location, it is actually an avenue with many cars, not too suitable for children. Distance to Historic Center´s pedestrian area is just 5 min. walking though...
Review 26:Staff was really attentive and helpful.
Review 27:Note hotel is not easy to find, do not follow the "Rice" sign as there are three Rice hotels in the area. The car park is in the middle of the duel carraigeway in front of the hotel, parking is allowed for a enough time to collect keys, parking pass, and deposite bags. use of hotel parking is a must!
Review 28:Good quality hotel in a good central location, Breakfast was good although expensive.
Review 29:Breakfast area/room small. We are not used to public from outside hotel having access to use breakfast area. Hotel have food brought in so not much choice and no hot cooked English breakfast. Bath didn't have plug and when requested on first day was not acknowledged so couldn't have proper bath for the whole week stay and shower was not much use as very poor quality and flooded floor. Not very good considering we had suite room.
Review 30:Location of hotel.
Review 31:Nothing really
Review 32:Wifi, breakfast option, location to sights, room std, safe parking option.
Review 33:Street Noise. Parking difficult
Review 34:Close to town
Review 35:N/A
Review 36:Very quiet comfortable sleep
Review 37:Terrible room in the basement . Looked onto a horrid closed laundry area . No air little light . No air con
Review 38:When we exited
Review 39:Airco failed several times
Review 40:Location
Review 41:Bed very hard. Aircon not effective.
Review 42:Good location, lovely staff, secure carpark..at a cost. Huge room with tea and coffee making facility.
Review 43:Difficult to find hotel
Review 44:The hotel was fully booked so we got an upgrade to a suite. If the normal rooms are half as good as the suite they will be worth twice the price.
Review 45:Delightful and helpful staff
Review 46:Good location, well furnished room, friendly and helpful staff, free safe and WiFi.
Review 47:Bar not open. No tea/coffee making facilities so no nightcap at all.
Review 48:There are no comments available for this review
Review 49:Easy to get to and easy to walk to the old part of the city.
Review 50:Breakfast is a bit expensive
Review 51:facilities are too old
Review 52:everything is OK, no thing very good though
Review 53:clean rooms breakfast central setting in the town
Review 54:we got an incredible deal on this ( less than half price ) Even though you have to pay for parking it's worth it. Check your directions before you go as the one way system is quite difficult. It didn't put us off but it could do with a bit of re varnishing of doors, which made it look a bit shabby , but it was very clean.
Review 55:An e-mail, which I did not receive en route warned us of accommodation difficulties following an electricity failure, not mentioned when we arrived. We had a very good 'suite' style room, but the bathroom needed attention (detailed on hotel comment sheet).
Review 56:Excellent breakfast; very good & friendly service. Good position regarding the Cathedral, bars & shops. Good local parking. Good staff.
Review 57:Nothing to fault!
Review 58:The Hotel was surprisingly central and within 10~15 minute walk from the Bus Station and Centre of Burgos. Location ideal for walking into town and to see the amazing architecture that exists in Burgos. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful and the room was immaculate, very comfortable and very quiet. Slept like a log and breakfast most generous (eat as much as you want) and also cultural as breakfast bar area also open to and used heavily by locals, which indicated its value and quality as there is a lot of competition in the area.
Review 59:Heating system was atrocious, toilets were noisy (possibly broken), limited breakfast options.
Review 60:Great location, generally friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 61:The hairdryer didn't work at all in our room. It's winter time, and because we didn't have much time in the morning. I left thehotel with my hair totally wet :S....
Review 62:Very clean and comfortable. The stuff was very nice. We arrived verylate and left very early the other morning to madrid. So there'snothing else I could say.
Review 63:Car park is two storeys underground and no lift so lots of steps to climb with lots of stuff for children including double pushchair to and from car.
Review 64:Nice sized suite and provided us with two cots for young children. Good for family.
Review 65:Beds too firm, not comfortable. Bathroom shabby, décor is pleasant but dated.
Review 66:Ideal for walking to cathedral;cafeteria very pleasant, fresh and clean, good staff, had a snack at a very reasonable price.. Secure parking an advantage, it would have been useful to know in advance that you can offload/load in front of hotel as hotel is on a busy main road.
Review 67:Hotel sign denoting name of not highly visible when driving along thestreet. There is a sign saying "hotel" but not the name.
Review 68:Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms, delightful staffworking in cafeteria was closing but still made a lovely coffee andfood for me.
Review 69:There was a power cut in the morning, without anyone offering an apology or compensation. This meant we had to get dressed, showered and pack without electricity. It was very inconvenient.
Review 70:Breakfast space too small, with people waiting for tables. The hotel name is confusing since there are signs for the Hotel Rice and signs for the Hotel Maria Luisa, and it ia anyone's guess which is correct.
Review 71:value formoney
Review 72:Lack of computer for guest use.
Review 73:Location was within walking distance of the old center and also of more modern shopping sites. Rooms were very comfortable and quite....3 nights, never heard much from other guests.
Review 74:Very comfortable, but perhaps a fresh coat of paint in bedrooms is needed.
Review 75:Small well-established classic hotel with welcoming staff in central location on tree-lined parkable avenue. Comfortable well-lit rooms with good beds. Very friendly little café adds "at home" feel. International pilgrims upgrade to modest luxury at this midway point on their 750km walk along Camino de Santiago. Historic catedral city buzzing with locals enjoying tapas & vino.
Review 76:We stopped of on our way to the ferry lovely hotel with very friendly staff travelling with my mother who is 87 so not easy but the staff were very helpful. Would recommend this hotel
