Reviews for Hotel las Calas

Review 1:Acoustics very bad so could hear when people walked past the corridors, etc.

Review 2:Nice location, and beautiful garden to breakfast in. Bed was comfortable.

Review 3:Continental breakfast offering could be improved with more variety of cold meats and cheeses. Only one cup of coffee offered. The Hotel restaurant was closed in late October as were many of the restaurants and shops in the village. Those that were open were very expensive.

Review 4:Location excellent. Just off the beach in a quiet setting. Staff accomodating. Clean and homely hotel. Lovely views of the beach and coast from the bedroom.

Review 5:We had problems with the shower - the water didn't drain away and it was difficult to get out of the shower without opening from the other side!

Review 6:Really friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast in their beautiful garden and fantastic location right next to the beach.

Review 7:Extremely helpful and attentive staff at this friendly family run hotel. The room was great - comfortable and with everything we needed. Breakfast was good. We'd definitely stay again!

Review 8:This hotel has the best location in the town being so close to the beach. The staff could not be more welcoming and the place is such value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and it was a joy to stay there. The rooms are much larger than the photos on their website indicate. We will definitely be back.

Review 9:Great little hotel in a fabulous location, very friendly staff,we had possibly the best room in the hotel with a balcony overlooking the beach. The room and shower room were very clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of meats, cheeses, tostadas, croissants, fruit and cereal . We will be going there again

Review 10:location, room, & breakfast

Review 11:Parking is not very comfortable.

Review 12:Right next to the beach. Friendly stuff. Nice and clean rooms.

Review 13:Close to the beach, clean room with nice sea view and plenty of parking spaces

Review 14:Great location near the sea Great staff Great breakfast Large and clean rooms

Review 15:Excellent location - will probably return next year.

Review 16:The Cleaning of room and balcony could have been better

Review 17:The whole experience

Review 18:no faults

Review 19:location, sea view, close to village and on beach. Parking available. Spotlessly clean , very nice room and large balcony. Lovely people.

Review 20:Go try it

Review 21:a bit poor breakfast

Review 22:location,

Review 23:Prize Noisy family living there Not the most helpful staff

Review 24:Location

Review 25:Bit disappointed with just side view of beach - some had much better view. Would not open bar for us at 10.00 in evening.

Review 26:Handy for beach, beautiful garden, quaint styling. Very spacious rooms. Nice small town with lovely town square. Enjoyed our stay there overall and would go back.

Review 27:Generally everything was lovely though The Manager was not very attentive. I tried to engage in conversation but he was not very interested. (Minor problem).

Review 28:Fabulous location right by the beach but nicely tucked away so it was quiet too. Our bedroom overlooked the sea. Lovely patio area for breakfast.

Review 29:Wide choice of food for breakfast (enjoyed the vanilla and caramel tea), in a lovely garden. Great access to beach. Helpful and attentive staff (although would be easier if you can speak some Spanish). Clean and comfortable room.

Review 30:The single beds are ok just a little small.

Review 31:So close to beach. Lovely garden and peaceful location. Nice family atmosphere so would be safe and ideal for young children. Good breakfast. We had a great room with sea view and private balcony. We plan to return with a larger family group in autumn

Review 32:Bed was quite hard. Not much selection for breakfast.

Review 33:Being right on the beach is great. Rooms are kept very clean. The terrace is a lovely spot to have breakfast

Review 34:Do not go there in winter, it should not be open. The hotel has no restaurant but does not say so. They lock up at 9 pm and you only have a back door access to your room. Heating is by reversed air conditioner which is noisy and bedding is blankets which were left us cold at night. The decor is tired, lampshade broken, It is only really suitable for summer when you can sit outdoors.

Review 35:Very little. The breakfast was satisfactory. Would be very pleasant in the summer with the garden and the balconies but not for winter

Review 36:Room was cold and the heater struggled to get the room up to temperature. A little expensive for the standard of hotel and the time of year.

Review 37:Room had a nice view. Friendly reception. Great location.

Review 38:Very poor sound insulation and it was the only problem.

Review 39:Everithing was pretty good. Clean and tidy room. Nice seaview. Excellentlocation. Very good beach next to the hotel. Very good choice for hiking- there are lots of spectacular beaches and bays around.

Review 40:Agua Amarga is a bit quiet in October.

Review 41:The hotel is located close to the beach on the edge of the village. Very quite and peacefull. The staff ( owner & family ) were very welcoming and helpfull. Breakfasts were good A good place to explore the Cabo de Gata region and to unwind for a few days

Review 42:No sea view on the ground floor Restaurant menu is expensive (15-20EUR) for a village Breakfast is ok but very simple

Review 43:The hotel is located right by the beach on the border of the village. Very quite and serene Clean and tidy Staff very welcome (beach umbrellas available on request) Great place to explore Agua Amarga and Cabo de Gata for the first time Plenty of apartments for rent across the village

Review 44:The room decor is a bit old fashion, it's kind of your grandma's style, but everything was very clean. ======== Lo unico "malo" de este hotel es la decoracion, q es un poco anticuada, pero sino nada mas, todo limpisimo y muy agradable.

Review 45:This hotel was fantastic! The location is less than 30second walk to the beach, there is a restaurant's garden in between the hotel and the beach so technically is not right on the beach, but just as good. The location is at one end of the beach by some beautiful mountains. It takes about 3mn to walk into the main part of town, but everything is walking distance. Plenty of parking nearby too.The staff who are also the owners are the nicest ppl, very welcoming and helpful when asking questions about local shopping, things to do etc. Agua Amarga is a very small town but so lovely, the beach, the mountains surrounding, the local shopping and restaurants, diving, etc. We went there with our 4 year old and the room with partial sea view was very very large, and great view of the beach/sea (it was in the 2nd floor). It had 2 twin beds and a daybed with a trundle underneath, so 4 ppl could have slept there very comfortably. The AC worked wonders, and the bathroom was extremely clean. Plenty of closet space as well. There was also a nice balcony with a tablet and chairs and a built in drier to hang your wet towel/bathing suit.Breakfast was awesome (and included), it had all sorts of fresh fruits, pastries, breads, local delicacies, juices, coffee, milk, you name it (ok, no eggs though, that's not typical in Spain). The outside patio is fabulous, you can have breakfast there, it's so relaxing. We loved it, loved it, loved it!On a side note, we were there for a wedding and some of our friends stayed at the Mikasa, and ALL had a terrible experience. We did too when we tried to call some of our friends that were staying there from the lobby, the staff was rude and though the hotel was modern and beautiful (small rooms though), it lacked the warmth and friendly staff of Las Calas (and location!). Mikasa also doesn't admit kids, which is totally ok, depending on your trip purpose.=============Las Calas nos ha encantado.
