Reviews for Cuevas de Rolando

Review 1:Pool was closed. Room fan didn't do much and room pretty hot. Bed creaked and groaned with every move which kept us awake. Shower so strong water went everywhere (but did work out a system to manage it!)

Review 2:Lovely quiet and tucked away site. Amazing views. Compact (but well appointed) room which we loved for novelty and nicell decorated. Roland (owner) was lovely. Great water pressure. Had everything we needed for just one night.

Review 3:Special place to get away from it all - quiet location, warm welcome by the lovely owners Maria, her hubby Rolando and their dogs and cats. Having your own cave is so different and cool, with outside terrace and hammock for balmy nights and a beautiful pool that we had to ourselves. Gaudix and its caves is interesting to visit and if you have your car (we were walking) you can explore the area.

Review 4:Very nice cave experience with a cozy cottage feel. The owners are friendly, and the surrounding area is beautiful. We had a barbecue on the terrace, and drinks by our fireplace in the evening. We would like to come back and stay longer next time

Review 5:Nothing to complain about.

Review 6:Very friendly and helpful host Quiet setting Lovely views Pleasantly remote but with easy access to town Would be great to come back here

Review 7:We could not get the tv to work, and a few of the lights didn't work.

Review 8:We went for a romantic get-a-way and got exactly what we ordered. Peace, Quiet, Great Scenery. The cave house was warm and cosy and the owner brought us logs for the wood burning stove.

Review 9:The hotel was somewhat difficult to locate due to poor signage.

Review 10:The cave was unique and the owner was very personable and helpful. It is reasonably located if you want to visit Alhambraha Granada, being only an hours drive away. A very relaxing experience.

Review 11:quite hard to find but he has put up a sign know to make it easier to find.It is down a dirt road just off the motorway.

Review 12:Location it was so quite and the views were stunning.Bar at bottom of road gave great tapas free with ever round of drinks. Owners of the caves were really good and did ever thing they could to make your stay enjoy able.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Great view, awesome concept and the service was second to none.

Review 15:Peace and quite, individuality. Beautiful setting. Really enjoyed Guadix too

Review 16:The caves were great

Review 17:No Door on Bathroom

Review 18:First time staying in a cave house, good experience. Excellent Breakfast, safe parking .Walking distance to a good restaurant.

Review 19:The mattress needs replacing I had springs sticking up everywhere. And the next day the pool was locked up so couldn,t have a last time swim before we left.

Review 20:The owner was very helpful even booking us a carriage ride for the next day. We upgraded to a larger cave was fantastic cool inside and warm out side. The pool was nice heated with solar panels very secure parking at night really different experience.

Review 21:The owner and his wife are truly welcoming. The "cave" (our room, cut into the clay outcrops that surround Guadix) was delightfully cool. Breakfast was basic but plentiful (the bread rolls were excellent). The view towards the snow-topped Sierra Nevada mountains was spectacular. JUST GO THERE!!!!

Review 22:Not a problem for us, but the location is a bit tricky.

Review 23:Interesting concept of a room build into a cave. We selected the smallest of the rooms and it was adequate for our one night stay. The host is German born and speaks excellent English.

Review 24:No shop or bar on site and its a drive away to nearest. If you want to chill out you have to take food etc,. with you and this should be noted on the website.

Review 25:It was different....Hard to explain but we really enjoyed the quirkiness. Lovely take away Italian you can call. Superb food and plenty to choose from. They deliver too. The owner was very accomodating.

Review 26:Direction sign on main road was slightly misleading as we werenot expecting to go up a dust-track over a dried up river bed. While we liked the cave hotel we found little to do in Guadix itself but took in a long back roads drive to soak up more of the area instead.

Review 27:We wanted an unusual experience and we got it. The single room cave was comfortable and atmospheric although the overhead fan was worryingly low. The inclusion of breakfast in the rate was reltaively unusual during our trip but given its isolated loaction it was a plus

Review 28:It's not true that there is a private pool in the "bedroom in cueva". The pool is shared with the others

Review 29:Amazing landscape and friendly tenants

Review 30:Not able to use a credit card, it is not usual to carry much cash these days.

Review 31:The location and the experience of a Cave Dwelling, Good Staff and Breakfast.

Review 32:There were ants in our cave - so don't leave any food out/uncovered!

Review 33:Staying in a cave was a fun and unusual experience. This cave hotel was done beautifully with nice decoration and comfortable room. There are beautiful views of the surrounding area from the complex and a Jacuzzi to relax in. Unfortunately the pool wasn't ready when we visited. We stayed in the smallest cave (just one room and kitchenette) and it didn't have the private terrace and BBQ like the larger caves did, but it was still very enjoyable and there was a small picnic area where we could enjoy the views.

Review 34:Our room was very small. Others on longer stays get the bigger units though. We were only there one night. No WiFi or Internet access despite the claim.

Review 35:A nice experience staying in a cave type hotel. Owner very nice and easy to deal with with good local touring advice. Good breakfast. Guadix and the area was a real treat and we are glad we happened across the area.

Review 36:Access road was a bit rough

Review 37:Staying in a "Cave suite" was a new adventure!

Review 38:The mid summer temp was very very hot!

Review 39:Unique and lovely hospitality. Caves were lovely and cool.

Review 40:Friendly hosts; the all round coolness of the cave was wonderful, especially during the night. The monuments of Guadix were worth a visit.
