Reviews for Appart'City Clermont-Ferrand Centre
Review 1:Noisy air ventilation, hard to sleep. The bath tube is there, but the amount of hot water is NOT ENOUGH to take it. Instead of double bed (that was proposed and thus chosen) we had a combined twin bed, that made it very uncomfortable.
Review 2:Good place, not much expensive, a lot of space in the room
Review 3:We arrived on saturday evening at 7pm. There was no staff but was able to gain entry with codes provided. we left Sunday morning at 11am still no staff and no facilities available. The hotel is way below standard of other Appart'City hotels I have stayed at and I would not use this one again.
Review 4:the only thing to like was the location. Can not comment on staff because there was'nt any.
Review 5:Paid for a 'superior' twin room. Originally given a standard double - not suitable. Then got a standard 'single' with a pull out bed. Receptionist could not be bothered, but had a compromise 'free' breakfast. Car park entrance very narrow and had to go down through underground car park to get the lift to the room.
Review 6:Nothing much. You get what you pay for. Was slightly better than staying in a campsite.
Review 7:The bathroom could do with an upgrade the facilities were looking very tired. No fan or air conditioning and temperature was above 30 degrees.
Review 8:Good location. Nice view from room. Bedroom and kitchen clean.
Review 9:It was hot so needed to open window. Some noise from road but we are used to silence! Lift took a lot of time.
Review 10:Big bathroom. good towels and linen . Great to have cooking space?Fridge/freezer useful for the stop off through France
Review 11:No power sockets are in a useable place, you must take the kettle into the bedroom, absolutely crazy when there is a kitchenette but no small table for using the kettle or coffee maker. The bed was a fold out sofa bed, very good mattress but the springs make so much noise I woke all through the night. We had trouble getting in as we never received the door code by SMS, we got in when a guest left, after then phoning using €5 we got the key. We had no instructions for checkout so we just put the key back in the safe. We would not book apartcity again unless we were 100% sure to arrive in reception hours.
Review 12:Location and Parking and Bath
Review 13:There were several aspects that I did not appreciate particularly during my 7 day stay at this hostal: (i) a separate room cleaning fee, as well as a towel replacement fee, are due, despite the fact that the website does not mention such fees; (ii) we found the beds to be very unconfortable; (iii) I was charged an additional fee ("taxes de séjour et de l'internet") at the end of my stay, again, when no such fee was mentioned on the hostel's website. When asked about the reason for said charge, I was told that charging such fee is standard procedure.
Review 14:N/A
Review 15:Only small espresso cups and coffee jug, no tea pot or mugs, which meant that we had to buy our own mugs for tea.
Review 16:The apartment was well maintained and comfortable. Ideal for a group of friends travelling over for the rugby as able to come and go at own pace. Good kitchenette with microwave, fridge freezer and cooking facilities, meaning that able to eat in the apartment. Just off the main area of the city so fairly quiet neighbourhood.
Review 17:The staff did not send me a code number needed to enter the hotel and people at the telephone information desk did not speak English what cost me at least 10 Euro (4 calls).
Review 18:Location and facilities including car park.
Review 19:Car parking access very tight Kitchen equipment very limited arrived at 12.30 had to wait until 3pm to access room minor things really had to pay for wifi but only e2 a day
Review 20:Location multilingual staff very helpful clean quiet
Review 21:No pin code sent, turned up after 11 hours of travelling with two small children and took a stressful hour to gain access. No staff on duty. Reception area stank of smoke. Other residents loitering outside drinking alcohol and smoking. Our room smelt of stale smoke and decor was extremely tired and dated. Most uncomfortable beds. You'd get better in a youth hostel. Room was unbearably hot - no air con. Given our return journey accommodation I can now say this was terribly over priced. Most important... Be warned if staying with small children. The windows have no safety catches on them. The huge windows open fully and our drop was five floors down onto a concrete car park, therefore didn't feel safe to leave kids in room to sleep on their own so had to sleep one parent, one child in each room. No staff on site so couldn't change room or leave. Left a polite note on departure (again no staff) but still charged full booking price!!
Review 22:There was easy parking.
Review 23:Booked through booking.com, provided phone number yet never received SMS for out of hours safe code. Had to waste time and money ringing them for code.
Review 24:Perfect for a one night stay over.
Review 25:A little bit far from th ecity center.
Review 26:Clean and comfortable.
Review 27:Absence du personnel le weekend end
Review 28:La propreté
Review 29:We couldn't reach anyone when we arrived in the middle of the night. This is not a good service. Luckily other guests could let us in.
Review 30:dirty room
Review 31:close to city centre, helpful staff
Review 32:la wifi payante
Review 33:le personnel à l'accueil est très performant
Review 34:good location, near the centre of town. private parking.
Review 35:my wifi never worked on my android !!!
Review 36:the girls that work there are always helpful and friendly and the space of appartment was great !!
Review 37:We booked for two people, they provided only one towel.
Review 38:comfort and cleanliness
Review 39:The bed was a little creaky. Would have like a more comfy chair in the room. No light switch near the bed. No wifi in the room
Review 40:The price, the shower, the fact it had a kitchenette with a full size fridge. The location close to the centre, the size of the room, the ease of access 24/7 the way the room keys worked. Would use again
Review 41:the central reservation people were utterly hopeless. No access to the building after 8pm unless you had a code which they were incapable of sending to mobile phones outside of France. It took 3 phone calls to get the two codes required to get in the building and room. My husband is a native French speaker and we still struggled. Utter incompetence from the central reservations team. Also they required you to call back after 8 even if you were sure you were going to arrive after 8. Why can't they email the code or send by SMS to non- French phones? Parking is tantalizingly possible but not unless you call the same hopeless people in advance.
Review 42:The people actually staffing the hotel were very nice and competent but had to deal with the numerous guests who had been frustrated by their central reservations office. Note that it is city centre so there are better options if you want to be just off the motorway.
Review 43:no WIFI facility...only wired internet was there....
Review 44:i booked the apartment and it was comfortable for 4 persons...kitchen utensils were clean and were in plenty....dishwasher facility....cooking facility was excellent...i recommend other people to stay here....tram station was nearby....
Review 45:The entrance to the parking was very narrow- nerve wracking if you have just picked up a brand new hire car!
Review 46:Well situated- close to restaurants and bars but not noisy. Good facilities for making your own breakfast ( but nothing provided- not even tea or coffee sachets) and comfortable room. Staff very good- recommended an excellent restaurant.
Review 47:Service was lacking. Insufficient amount of towels, shower not workingand the ancient bed squeaked on every turn. Also the business model ofhaving no employees present and very limited instructions made thearrival very aggravating.
Review 48:Price for the stay was decent and location was central.
Review 49:We were travelling through from Barcelona to London with our little dog and chose to stay in Clermont-Ferrand as it's a beautiful town. Our room at the hotel was basic but quite big and clean. The sofa bed was (surprisingly) very comfortable with white crisp cotton sheets. The fridge/freezer was perfect for our picnic stuff. The wet room bathroom was huge and shower worked well. We wanted to put our car in the secure underground car park but with our top box it didn't fit so we left it on the road outside the hotel. In the evening we walked into town (15 mins) for supper.
Review 50:The fact that on the internet site it was not mentioned that the Appartcity does not serve breakfast on Sundays. We did pay in advance for breakfast so now we have to ask our money back, see our mail....
Review 51:The possibility of making our own coffee....
Review 52:Non-refundable option means exactly that - even if you get sick and give 2 weeks notice. This is clearly stated though - just my bad luck. Thanks to booking.com for trying to get refund by email.
Review 53:I stayed here during Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival period lastyear and this year. The place is so close to Maison de la Culture andvery convenient to enjoy the film festival, why I chose to stay here inthe first place. The room was so clean and spotless when I got here which was very pleasant but you have to know that they don't clean the room everyday nor change the towels. I was there for just under a week so that was fine. The room is very warm and hot water runs well although I think if a lot of people have shower at the same time you tend not to get much hot water then (usually at night) Having a kitchen is excellent as you can get your breakfast things from supermarkets (carrefour is only 5-10mins walk) which saves you time and bother in the mornings. The reception staff are all really friendly and helpful and speaks good english. The only downside will be that they have quite inconvenient working hours and don't open during lunch times and late at night. All in all, a very satisfying stay. Definite recommendation.
Review 54:Really tight fit couldn't open the bathroom door properly because bed was in the way, bed was unconfortable
Review 55:Uncomfortable beds, limited parking places, stay there only if you do not find something better
Review 56:There were two beds which went under each other, not much space in the little room but very clean
Review 57:Comfort, lack of staff on sunday
Review 58:Location
Review 59:not enought space to open the door + bed open.
Review 60:kitchen in room fridge
