Reviews for Hotel Wiesler

Review 1:Could do with a bit of room redecorating/renovating. Maybe also add a few more machines and free weights to the gym.

Review 2:First and foremost, I have to say that the restaurant left us the most lasting impression. It was amazing, the food, the atmosphere, the whole dining experience was pretty refined, but at the same time, delicious and comfortable. The hotel itself was good as well, with a great location and a secure parking nearby. The rooms were clean and and comfortable, but started to look a bit outdated. There were a few features that were unique, like the fact that they had a barber and a sauna. The breakfast selection was one of the best that I've ever seen, with fresh and varied choices. Overall, a big thumbs up!

Review 3:There was no wardrobe in the room, it was a little bit annoying having clothes in the suit-case. Not design for our taste (night tables and the drawer pallet like). From the pictures at booking you can not know exactly what kind of room you will get. River is quite noisy, fortunately it was winter and we had closed windows.

Review 4:Great location, you can see all the sights by walking, great view from the front side over the city and the castle (fifth floor). Very convenient and close underground garage. It was a little bit cold in the room at the first evening and they have put in an extra electric radiator. Thanks.

Review 5:only one receptionist at the reception who was also picking up the phone

Review 6:the superior room with view on the river and the city center, the essential furniture, the noise insulation of the windows, the sauna, the restaurant, the food, the free wifi, the barber shop, the position of the hotel.

Review 7:First room had really strong smell of sewage. After replacing the roomeverything was ok. &Quot; The Speisesaal" restaurant was awful. Theyserved me gilthead (fish) that was not cleaned properly. Gills andinnards were left inside and cooked!

Review 8:Location

Review 9:At check in they wanted to rip me off, and said a significantly higher price than what I booked. When I said, I remember a lower price, the receptionist asked, if I have the reservation with me. I said yes, and started to open it on my phone, when - what a miracle - she found it with the lower price of course. Have your reservation with you always! Later I wanted to ask the receptionist to check out something, but she instead of making a call, were just guessing the possibilities. When I repeatedly asked her to make a call, she ignored me again, and kept on guessing, and used an arrogant tone. I am really not used to this in hotels. The beds are very soft, but it is a matter of what you like. My room was spacious, but both windows looked at walls, had no view at all, that is very weird. However there are other rooms are facing the corridor - that must be worst, I guess.

Review 10:Easy to reach location by public transportation, excellent breakfast, good wifi, a lot of nice ideas for design and hospitality

Review 11:staff could have been more helpful. Drove there and one of us alight to ask for parking instructions. Staff sent us on a wild goose chase. Had to approach staff 3 times to successfully park our car

Review 12:Nice boutique hotel. Chic! good location

Review 13:Absolutely nothing. Would come back again anytime. And when I come back to Graz, I know know exactly where to go.

Review 14:We got a junior sweet and it was VERY spacious! The bathtub was very modern and added the perfect romantic touch to our anniversary trip. I loved the style of the entire hotel, a very edgy/alternative look. The best touch had to be the barber located downstairs.

Review 15:No kettle in the room BUT the bar gave me hot water for tea anytime I asked ~~ very cooperative.

Review 16:Location was good and the breakfast was very nice. The staff was friendly and the location was excellent!

Review 17:These rooms are beautiful but not practivcal. today some of these rooms sems to also very, very small. This time I was not quite pleased with cleaning.

Review 18:This is lovely hotel to stay. Though, I do prefer their standar rooms, now I stayed one step higher category. These rooms are meant for a romantic weekend, not to stay a week. They are beautiful, but not very practical - in more ways than one. They do have the very best breakfast in the town. It is unique and individual. Some of their staff are very lovely knowing what nice customer service is.

Review 19:A bit pricey but that's normal in Austria.

Review 20:Excellent localisation. Clean. Nice staff. Great sense of humor on leaflets / stickers / materials in the hotel - a place with character!

Review 21:I had requested a recently renovated room. The room had just been painted so there was a lingering paint smell which, although not horrible, it was a noticeable nuisance. No safe in the room as the staff hadn't finished some aspects of the room reno. A bit tight space around the bed that limited movement near the window wall.

Review 22:Great location to the old city and museums/restaurants. Good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. We were given a room on the back side of the property and away from the street side with traffic...a real plus. Glad the windows were newer and operable so we enjoyed fresh air while sleeping.

Review 23:Great location in the centre of Gratz, bought my folding bike, but hotels has its own bikes and even a bike repair shop in the lobby, felt right at home. Great selection for breakfast, quality and freshness rather than a huge array of things.

Review 24:All rooms I saw except for the last one were separated by doors from the next ones, so that every sound by the neighbors was heard. For any decent person this is highly inconvenient. And a shockingly bad surprise: the room was equiped with a binocular accompanied by the statement "Thiefs are pigs". Really not acceptable. Overall we benefited from a two star confort for an over four star price.

Review 25:We had a very nice room first, but could not endure the noise from the works inside the hotel. The hotel undergoes major repair works but the management insists to continue to rent rooms, which is hard to accept. We changed this room with an ugly, minimalistic one- I think a former servant room facing the river. This way we could live.

Review 26:Graz is not as interesting as expected, despite a few nice urban design features; it is still worth spending a day or two in town

Review 27:excellent hotel downtown Graz for urban savvy travelers

Review 28:very dirty elevator, only one from the 2 lifts was working, the second one was "Defect"; additional payment of parking and breakfast is rising the price with 50% almost, from 100 to 145 euro/night; strange interior design, trying to be different, I guess, but some people could like it - a matter of taste.

Review 29:location, breakfast, underground parking only 50 meters from hotel

Review 30:The hotel has been cleverly renovated and the rooms are stylish and comfortable. A short walk across the bridge to the centre of Graz. We would stay here again.

Review 31:- room (214, without new decor) has not direct light (only from small atrium), so you need artificial light also during the day, - room has windows (through atrium) to the corridor of the hotel, so you has not any privacy

Review 32:- nice decor of some renovated rooms and common areas (lobby, restaurant), - good location, very near to center,

Review 33:Bit dated

Review 34:Very centrally located Clean Very helpful staff Good food for breakfast, looked very busy at night nut didn't eat there myself at evening time.

Review 35:This hotel is definitely in need of an upgrade. I felt the photos of the rooms were very deceptive on the booking.com website. (I've booked 37 rooms from booking.com and this is the first time I've felt like the photo was not a true representation of the room...obviously not the fault of booking.com). I felt like my room was dingy, old and unclean. *Also the door to my room was so warped at the bottom that you could see right through to the hallway floor...that's a new one on me. This made it quite noisy in my room whenever anyone was in the hallway because the door wasn't closing properly. *There are no outlets by the bed to charge your devices, not a deal breaker but annoying when you want to hit the snooze on your phone or use your iPad in bed while it's charging.

Review 36:The front desk staff were exceptional, very polite and very helpful, also the food from the restaurant was great!

Review 37:i had a room in the "older" part of the hotel, for me it was very relaxing cause it was very quiet. I would never stay in another hotel in Graz , except they will change the service. Breakfast ist unreal good and i love, love, love the Kardamint, so yummi!

Review 38:Asked specifically for a quite room and was given one which had the elevator on the other side of the bed wall. Couldn't sleep most of the first night. Got changed to another room - but only after they try to tell me there was none available and I had to insist. Some front desk staff was not really friendly or helpful - exception made by younger staff.

Review 39:Perfect localization, very good breakfast, comfortable rooms.

Review 40:The A/C did not work very well and/or hard to understand. In either case, it made the room feel more congested.

Review 41:Great service & location. Very spacious room.

Review 42:None.

Review 43:Excellent location close to the old town centre. Rooms well sound proofed - although main source of noise was the river, but with windows closed, we couldn't hear it.

Review 44:- Blocked sink in shower - Sauna and Gym not seperated - Opening hours short - Bad waiters in breakfast area (ignoring guests, being very confused when only 1 person in a group pre-booked a breakfast) - Fungi at the air shafts in the bath room - Instead of placing commercials everywhere for their barbor services they should look at their own quality first - Cool design should be everywhere not only in the entrance area, doesn't feels honest/feels rather wannabe stylish - Value for price in Graz in general very weak

Review 45:- Friendliness of hotel staff - Sauna rooms where nice - Cool design in the entrance area - Location - Flexibility regarding breakfast (1 person became ill, so breakfast was canceled for free) and breakfast times

Review 46:The breakfast price.

Review 47:The place, the surrounding in the middle of the historic center. Very pleasant and friendly staff . The hotel is characterized by a proper sence of humour

Review 48:I stayed for three nights during the Christmas period. The location is basically bang central. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good and the breakfast in the morning was delicious with a great selection of quality food. The wifi was good enough to stream movies, and the bed was very comfortable. It wasnt the most modern room but it was clean and well maintained. Over all a very nice hotel and experience.

Review 49:We splurged on this hotel based off the photos we saw online. The rooms looked very trendy and art deco online. It seems as though you have to book a higher priced room to get what it shows in the photos, or one that is up to date.

Review 50:The location was good, the staff was friendly and rooms were clean.

Review 51:One hour late checkout would have cost another 15 euros extra. that feels a bit uncharming if you know that it ´s not booked out.

Review 52:location is very good. if you pick the right room with a design the suits you it ´s a good hotel.

Review 53:We did not like the design of the reception hall. Instead of brightly lit it had a black wall and lots of candles lit. It has lost its traditional character for a hotel over hundred years old. When we arrived we thought we were at the wrong hotel.

Review 54:We were on the 5th floor, overlooking red rooftops and church spires. No sounds of cars only the tram sounds. Lovely huge double bed. Plenty of room to tuck suitcase away and wardrobe to hang clothes. No problem connecting to wifi. Good sized bathroom with bath and shower. A few minutes walk to town and all transport.

Review 55:noise from compressor left us without sleep. Reception staff knew about it, but have still put us in that room, regardless of our request for a quiet room

Review 56:beautiful oriental tea room

Review 57:Only one bedside lamp

Review 58:Our room overlooked the river and the old town The river was roaring along, but we only heard it when we opened the window Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent Graz was charming and we wished we could have stayed longer

Review 59:The hotel is very clean and beautiful. At the entrance I was confused because the place looked much more expensive than what I reserved, but it is such a really nice hotel at a very good price. We didn't try the breakfast, though.

Review 60:The onsite parking was actually in the street at the back of the hotel. The floorboards in the room need to be repaired/replaced urgently as they squeak very badly even when you try to walk quietly.

Review 61:The location of the hotel is great - you just walk across the bridge to get to the Alstadt. It is easy walking distance to all the sights, shopping etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a very good size and the bathroom was quite spacious.

Review 62:No options for this.

Review 63:The atmosphere in Wiesler was super awesome. I and my wife were surprised by the decoration and room design. We could not believe there was a hotel like Wiesler in the world. It was just like a feeling of "Dream comes true". We like Wiesler hotel very much. The bar and the breakfast were incredibly good and yummy yummy. We definitely will come back to Graz and Wiesler again and again.

Review 64:Beautiful old building with original artwork, right on the riverbank opposite the old city centre, views of the Schlossberg, etc. Breakfast was great, with many fresh and local products. Staff very helpful & informative. Comfortable spacious room; enjoyed the witty manner in which the usual information & notices was presented.

Review 65:The parking is 100 m in the back of the hotel away from the main entrance. There is no coffee machine at breakfast and they serve manually prepared and very bad coffee.

Review 66:Very close to the city center. Very good breakfast with large selection. Very good Wi-Fi connection.

Review 67:Nothing to object.

Review 68:It's a classical renewed hotel (modern and comfortable) in the centre of the city, just a few meters from the Art Museum. Lots of cafés and restaurants in the surrounding streets, but room was quiet and silent. Fabulous breakfast.

Review 69:Breakfast could include a wider selection. More space for storing the clothes is needed; can't hang everything over the small cabinet. More bathroom amenities would be desirable.

Review 70:The design and ambient of the hotel. We had a Independent room facing the Schlossberg and we simply loved it. The room is not for those who love luxury, but for those who love originality. Another positive point is its excellent location, very close to the funicular and to the center.

Review 71:It would be great to gave a kettle in the room.

Review 72:Staff, location, fast check in, cleanliness, value for money.

Review 73:Location is very central. Room was big and cozy. Breakfast is delicious.

Review 76:nothing

Review 80:Very clean, very stylish, nice staff

Review 96:Location.

Review 97:Great location, wonderful restaurant "Speisesaal" and cool design. Good mix to stay and enjoy for any occasion.

Review 98:The floors creaked so bad that if you got up in the middle of the night you would wake whoever was in the room with you.

Review 99:Bedrooms are in need of refurbishment
