Reviews for Silken Ciudad de Vitoria

Review 1:Can't think of anything other than tight bends in car park if you have a wide car.

Review 2:Location most convenient, restaurant excellent, Bar and barman very good, room very comfortable, very good value for money.

Review 3:The bathtub had mold everywhere around. Not very impressed for a 4 star hotel. Plastic cups in the toilet.

Review 4:The staff, the location and the atmospehre at the piano bar

Review 5:Everything perfect.

Review 6:We have stayed in a number of Silken hotels and this rates as the best so far. The staff, the rooms, the restaurant, the public areas; all excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Review 7:No tissues in room .the Hotel was situated between to very busy noisy roads .would not recommend this Hotel as rooms were hot and having window opened at night very very noisy .

Review 8:The hotel staff were friendly at check in Restaurant evening meal not advertised tried at 7.15 but nobody available .we asked why at reception on check out we were told the that the Restaurant did not open Untill 8.30 should be better advertised !!.Piano Bar service was excellent .

Review 9:We arrived on a Sunday morning hoping to see the armoury museum which amazingly shut at midday after only 2 hours. The hotel's restaurant was closed that evening (we had not noticed that on the booking page). The reception staff were not very helpful. They recommended a restaurant in the centre (15mins away) saying they were unsure it was open on a Sunday. They did not offer any other choices. It was closed and I had to walk all round the town searching for a place to eat as Sunday is clearly not popular for opening. Irritatingly, the following morning when we told the reception about the italian restaurant we had found, they claimed to already know about it.

Review 10:lovely clean room, good secure parking.

Review 11:Breakfast expensive - walk out of hotel, turn left & left again (down side of hotel) to a great bar that has a basic but very tasty breakfast for less than 3 euros. Getting to the hotel can be trying as it is not close to any of the motorways.

Review 12:Best value for money hotel we have stayed at in Spain. Good location within walking distance of the old town. Vitoria is a surprisingly vibrant & interesting city - we will return. Undercover parking was very secure (at a cost), but we saw some Harleys parked on the pavement right outside the hotel & no-one seemed to care.

Review 13:No tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 14:We had a lovely couple of days in Vitoria-Gastiez and this hotel ticked lots of boxes. In a quiet and leafy location just a few minutes walk from the old town, all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and it was cosy and comfortable with very good breakfast. Overall great value.

Review 15:Very clean and comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of the town. We accidentally left our video camera in our hotel room when we left and we have received exceptional service from the hotel staff who found, packed and dispatched our camera back to us, keeping us informed throughout the whole process.

Review 16:Excellent value for money. Underground parking. Easy walking distance to all points of interest. Didn't try the breakfast as cheaper to go to the cafe which is just around the corner.

Review 17:Disappointing on the food side. Cafeteria very limited in terms of food, and not very welcoming in terms of decor. Restaurant only open at lunchtime, never in the evening, and we were always out touring during the day. Breakfast quite impressive, but a tendency to run out of some items towards the end of the week.

Review 18:Very pleasant setting with its cool double atrium layout. Private garage available, a big plus.

Review 19:The bathroom lighting is insufficient.

Review 20:Staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is really comfortable. There's a car park a coffee shop and restaurant. The room has a good size and there's a large mirror,a large wardrobe and desk..really nice and comfortable.

Review 21:Breakfast was too expensive...and there is no place to get coffee at 7 or 8

Review 22:Everyone was very nice. The cafeteria next to it is a very nice place to have coffee or a drink and a snack during the day. If you walk out the front of the building...cross the street and turn left and take the next right there are places that open earlier to have coffee...or a light lunch. The walk to the historic area is lovely. Lovely towels...

Review 23:The breakfast was terrible, freezing cold with little choice, having said that, we booked in on one of the busiest days of the year on the last night of the annual Basque fiesta and the hotel was very, very busy!

Review 24:Great location, nice room with nice bathroom

Review 25:The restaurant of the hotel was not open, but we had some very nice snacks in the cafetaria of the hotel.

Review 26:The hotel has a nice location near a beautiful park and in walking distance from the city center. The breakfast was very good and extensive.

Review 27:Noise from street could be heard during the night despite double-glazing.

Review 28:Lots of shops, bars and restaurants in compact area. Secure, underground car park.

Review 29:'In house' food is maybe a bit pricey - but probably no different to many other similar establishments.

Review 30:Liked everything about this hotel. Location was within walking distance of centre. Excellent facilities for the price. Very helpful staff. Will use again.

Review 31:if I was picky I would say the rooms and bathrooms are not the most modern. Also not the cheapest, but we went in mid June when a local rock festival was playing, so supply and demand !

Review 32:The location is great and Vitoria is a lovely City. Very good breakfast and comfy beds. Great hotel. We'll be going back again next year.

Review 33:Receptionist couldn't find our booking but she swiftly and smoothly organised accommodation. Glad I had my booking confirmation at hand. Might have had a different comment to make if hotel had been full.

Review 34:Everything! Luxurious beds and comfortable rooms.Lovely helpful staff. Location perfect for our grandson's school.

Review 37:Mattress very hard (I have a "firm" mattress at home). This one is simply cheap and hard. Spa and restaurant closed on Sundays. Very poor for a supposed 4 star

Review 38:Location

Review 39:We arrived early on a Sunday and went for a few tapas for lunch in view to going into town and have dinner. Unfortunately Sunday evening is not good, lots of the places had very limited food to offer. Also we ordered a bottle of house red to take to our room from the hotel café and when we looked at our bill the wine was 17.50 Euro. In the same café a glass off house red was about 1.30 - 1.50 Euro. Not sure this justifies 17.50 Euro.

Review 40:Everything about the Hotel is good, it has secure parking (at a cost of 14 euro)It is a 10min walk into the centre which is lovely and lots of places to eat. Lovely breakfast with lots to offer for everybody's taste. Will use this hotel again for sure.

Review 41:We were charged 30euros for two breakfasts which was extortionate and 14 euros to park our car in an empty car park.

Review 42:Great location and very nice comfortable hotel. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff

Review 43:We arrived late evening only the cafe was open for food, the menu was a bit too limited. Breakfast was fine.

Review 44:Accessibility. Secure car park Comfortable modern room Friendly staff

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:I was travelling with a group of friends on a motorcycle trip around Northern Spain and Southern France and found this hotel to be excellent. It has secure underground parking and is in very close proximity to the centre of Vitoria which is a beautiful city. Breakfast was first class, although it was very busy and we struggled to get a table. After a short wait we were able to partake of the excellent choices on offer. This is the second time I have visited this hotel and I wouldnt hesitate returning again.

Review 47:Location as it is near our grandson's school also near good restaurants and coffee bars. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the lovely staff on reception and cafe bar.

Review 48:The free WiFi was a bit bad-tempered. Otherwise, no complaints.

Review 49:The Silken Ciudad has an abundance of period charm ... expect woodentable tops rather than zinc, graceful lighting rather than spotlights. We loved it. It is a short walk to the old town, handy to some pleasantbars and restaurants, and really good value for money. We paid 98 eurosfor a superior double room, including breakfast. For an extra 14 euroswe could have parked the car in the hotel's own secure parking. We'd go back.

Review 50:room plain ( no pictures ) noisy ( road ) and uninspiring . breakfast very expensive

Review 51:Friendly staff at reception , helpful in finding places in the lovely old town . Floor 4 had coffee making facilities . WiFi worked and was free

Review 53:Good location and parking. Very helpful staff Comfortable rooms and a bargain at the price

Review 54:All were excellent

Review 55:Comfortable and clean rooms. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is very close to the center of Vitoria. We had easy parking in a public location nearby.

Review 56:Hotel restaurant closed while we were there but reception staff were unaware. Free wi-fi very slow

Review 57:Great location Comfortable beds Very helpful staff in the bar and cafeteria

Review 58:The internet, even the paid option was appallingly bad. We were unable to Skype with family back home the entire time.

Review 59:The breakfast was amazing and the little cafe linked to the hotel was great as well. We were in a great location for visiting the medieval part of the city--but far enough away not to hear the revelry from the festival at the wee hours of the morning.

Review 60:The helpful and polite staff at reception also the room attendants and the bar staff, a big thank to them all... Location of hotel and also the cleanliness of our room.

Review 61:Road noise, woken early - normal choice between open window or noisy fan.

Review 62:The ambience and design of the hotel was fascinating, rooms very comfortable and tea making facilities (but powdered milk!).

Review 63:The restaurant was closed (friday evening !! ) . BAR AND "BISTRO" HAD NOTTING TO OFFER, WHEN YOU WHERE HUNGRY. ROOM TO NOISY, LOOKED THAT CARS DRIVED TRO THE CHAMBER

Review 64:Breakfast poor and no restaurant for evening meal
