Reviews for Complejo Rural Huerta Grande

Review 1:I can really recommend this place in this beautiful nature reserve. The climate right here is not as hot and dry as the surroundings, in summertime you need no aircon. We were lucky with the weather, in december storms and rain is common but we had some sunny days and went for a swim outside Tarifa on christmasday. The small cabins are simple but nice and cosy. Its a very soft and peaceful place where you wake up by the sound of owls and barking dogs. Catrine and her staff speak good english and are very nice and helpful. Can highly recommend:) Maria Sweden

Review 2:Nothing.

Review 3:Nice enough with a small outside porch not too far from anywhere. A couple of small local bars and restaurants nearby. Great staff. Relaxing...

Review 4:Would be nice to have the accomodation cleaned like a hotel, ie beds made towels changed if necessary etc. Could do to have better signage on the main road.

Review 5:The quietness was just what was needed.

Review 6:Not really a negative point, but for an older couple (i.e. us), the walk to the cabin can be long, especially carrying baggage, as cars must be left in a parking lot up a hill. But it was worth it.

Review 7:A perfectly delightful place to stay. Individual cabins lost in the woods, utter silence, immaculately clean. If visiting the area, or taking an early boat to Morocco, don’t even consider any place else. Staff very friendly, One girl spent lots of time helping me straighten out a problem I had with a ticket to Morocco. Two wonderful dogs to great us.

Review 8:Beautiful environment, cabin set in cool woodland. Reception - great WiFi and coffee, friendly dogs and cats! Fantastic, helpful staff.Great swimming pool.

Review 9:Nothing! Loved it all!

Review 10:From the moment I sat on our little terrace in our cabin I felt the stress melting away. The location is amazing!! Extremely pet friendly, my dogs had a ball, one even falling in love with the local cat. The pool is really well maintained and a great facility. The cabins are basic but that is what I expected, really comfortable bed in number 16. We will definitely be back and are planning our next trip....I highly recommend Huerta for relaxation and getting away from the daily grind

Review 11:Location is great as its close to Gibraltar. Clean cabins, looks as advertised. Have your shopping already done before you arrive as the options in the village aren't much. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 12:Cabin was a bit stuffy. Insects. Internet was spotty even in the shared area.

Review 13:Nice cabin in the forest. The setting is wonderful. Easy stroll brings you to a view of Gibraltar and Morocco. Great break from the pressures of travels. Make sure you have time to hike.

Review 14:The only complaint that I had was that the shower in both cabins that we had wouldn't drain and at one point, the one shower actually flooded into the kitchen. The showers had to be extremely short to prevent flooding. The towels were also very "rough" but my guess is because they were line dried.

Review 15:We were staying there as it was one of the few places that would accomodate a family of 8. The cabins are unique and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. We almost wish we had more time to "wander" around a bit more. With re: to the actual cabin, it was clean and had minimal needs for an extended stay (we only spent the night). My two daughters (ages 6 and 8) loved being able to sleep up in the loft. The kitchenette was adequate but might need a few more items (like a sharp knife to be able to cut up fruit). There was plenty of utensils - certainly plenty for a family of 4. We will definitely consider staying again before a ferry ride over to Tangiers.

Review 16:Cats! Quality of bed linen could be better ........ thats it!!

Review 17:Cabin quality & internal design Site layout and facilities Management skill and attitude Location & access Peacefulness

Review 18:Definitely, the place is ideally situated, in a small wood between Algeciras and Tarifa. You can enjoy the fresh air of the pine tree & the marine humidity. The cabanes are very clean and well equipped. It's very quiet as the road is a little far from the complexe. We really enjoyed our stay there and we surely will return once.

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Friendly, lovely area, peaceful and quiet. Great location for visiting the whole area.

Review 21:A wonderful place we've stayed there four times and will keep returning as its great for our children and dogs.

Review 22:Quiet, peaceful, friendly and helpful staff

Review 23:Not the easiest place to access if arriving in the "wrong" direction.

Review 24:Quiet and solitude set in own woods.

Review 25:Good location for peoe liming calm and quiet Swimming pool Bungalow and its equipment Staff

Review 26:We loved the environment and the children enjoyed the freedom to play and explore

Review 27:Everything is perfect, The cosy log cabin staying away amongst the nature, beautiful surroundings with fantastic peacefull walks

Review 28:Excellent, but not a first class hotel. Great for bikers.

Review 29:Everything

Review 30:nothing

Review 31:Felt we needed an oven :-)

Review 32:Reception opening times are very inconvenient (9.30 am to 8 pm) for travelers who are constantly 'on the move' (like we are); Despite advertising to be the major hotspot for bird watchers, knowledge of bird watching locations and further details was very poor.

Review 33:Location is very nice, tranquil surroundings, many trees, chalets provide a lot of privacy, relaxed atmosphere

Review 34:There was no bath products (shampoo, body soap) and no hairdryer.

Review 35:The staff was kind and helpful, the facilities clean and well mantained and in a good location between Tarifa and Gibraltar

Review 36:The rooms are quite small for a tall guy like me. Having said that, the wooden bungalow is awesome.

Review 37:I liked the serenity of the place and the exotic atmosphere where you can cool down in the scorching heat thanks to the predominant trees which make you feel like you are in a wild jungle.

Review 38:Small setting area inside and not very comfortable...but you have table and benches on your veranda too.

Review 39:The setting is beautiful. With lovely walks through the trees, you can enjoy the fresh air:-)and even walk all the way down to beach. Lovely pool area and great eco centre just next door.

Review 40:No shop on site or resturant, at reception there is a cafeteria only

Review 41:Pet friendly my dog loved been without his leash the entire long weekend. Very peaceful and relaxing

Review 42:The "kids" bedroom should have all the single beds, and theadult bedrooms should have the doubles. Change the shower that had theshower curtain. The curtain did not keep the water in the basin, as aresult, the floor was completely soaked after each shower.

Review 43:We were two families (of 4 each) and shared one villa. All 3 bedroomshad an en suite. The complimentary firewood was a nice bonus. Lovelysitting around the fire at the end of the day. The kids enjoyedplaying around the grounds and the nature trail was fun. The HuertaGrande property was beautiful and was a nice break from the cities ofSouthern Spain.
