Reviews for Hospedería El Caravansar
Review 1:There was a slightly stale smell in the room and it wasn't easy to get the heating right.
Review 2:Lovely authentic hotel in a small village - with a fantastic view from the balcony of the top room. Friendly staff and loads of atmosphere.
Review 3:Clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. I was given a map of the area which made exploring very easy. Excellent location. Great value for money and for the cost was everything you could need. Would stay again.
Review 4:The double bed was a wee bit on the small side so you may struggle if you are large sized. Note that you must get there by car.
Review 5:Excellent position in Frigiliana--a fantastic unspoiled village/little town a short drive from Malaga. The roof top patio part of the studio was a real delight for sunny breakfasts or evening wine.Owners very helpful and everything spotless
Review 6:The mini cooker didn't work, & when asked Charo the manager, she said she didn't know where the instructions were, so we had no cooker the whole stay. If you want to spend most of your time in Nerja, like we did, it is a bit of a pain to get back & forth, being a 15 minute drive away.
Review 7:It had a lot of character & charm, lovely little place. Was clean, comfortable, had air-con, TV, terrace.
Review 8:Spotty wifi, particularly at night.
Review 9:Although the staff did not speak English, they were very welcoming and we got by on our limited Spanish. Great location and easy street parking.
Review 10:What a brilliant location in the middle of the village right near my fave restaurants and bars and staff were brill also ideal if you like walking as close to all the walkways into the mountains
Review 11:Wifi must be caught in the hallway, but it seemed to work most of the time. It would be nice if you had the possibility for breakfast. The bed was small.
Review 12:The hotel is well situated, and on a hot day the room is excellent. But we were there on a rather cold day, and here the airconditioning must run on max.
Review 13:Room was tiny and no room to unpack suitcases. Booking.com stated "breakfast available" but was sent to a restaurant 300 meters down the road. Told management we were unhappy and wanted to leave after 2 nights even though we had to pay for 5 nights in cash upon check-in. I offered to pay for 3 nights and asked for a refund. Owner absolutely refused. We left anyway. So much for customer satisfaction.
Review 14:They only took cash and did not tell us until we checked out. (no cards) Shower very small other guests also were complaining.
Review 15:Location, Quality,Comfort,Cleanliness
Review 16:wifi didn't work well. but it would be good to forget the digital life and enjoy the view.
Review 17:staff are very friendly. good location. 5min walk from bus station. I had a room with terrace, the view was just amazing. clean and comfortable room.
Review 18:Staff understood no English at all. We had to 'phone and wait outside for 30 minutes before they opened up, despite having agreed to be there at 1pm. Expensive, particularly as no breakfast.
Review 19:I could not communicate or conversate with hostess in English
Review 20:Kind hostess. Clean room.

Review 37:Central location, quiet
Review 38:Our double bed was very small and really uncomfortable, and I can't understand why the hospederia provides only one bolster-type pillow for two people rather than two separate pillows - not good. It's a real disadvantage that they no longer do breakfasts too: we walked down to the main square at the end of the street and had desayuno there as we weren't starting our walk too early, but the cafe doesn't open that early and if you want to make a really early start it's a real nuisance not having somewhere on-site to eat. We'd stay here again if we had to but only if we could get a twin room - otherwise, sadly, we'd want to stay elsewhere.
Review 39:We stayed at the hospederia for one night before walking the Liman trail (which was wonderful). The hostel is clean, tidy, and the rooms though small are nicely but simply decorated. The staff are friendly too, though we had little contact with them given the absence of breakfast (see opposite). Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room (the front of the hospederia overlooks the street, though there's not much not much traffic) and definitely ask for a habitacion doble (twin) not a habitacion matrimonial!
Review 40:We couldn't get the wifi to work - but that was not a big problem for us.
Review 41:Quiet area with nearby on road parking. Reception was pleasant and everything was explained. Room was exceptionally clean and beautifully fitted out. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked very well. Village is picture perfect with plenty to keep you occupied as you to wander around. Las Chinos restaurant does a fabulous lamb shoulder dish and is a short walk away - highly recommended.
Review 42:Would of liked a chest of draws, there was only a wardrobe so had to live mainly from suitcase, also a small fridge would of been handy
Review 43:Room was very clean, bed very comfortable and staff very friendly
Review 44:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 45:We loved the village it very pretty. The hotel was in a great position in Frigiliana. There were lots of little places for coffee and cake. We found a good restaurante close by. We will come and visit again and stay longer next time. We liked everything Thank you.
Review 46:Quite expensive in relation to the surrounding area and for what you got. Found out that much cuter family-run inns in Nerja were about 10 -15€ cheaper a night after we had booked this place. For example, Hostal Residencia Mena in Nerja was immaculately clean and lovely a few meters from the beach. Staff was cordial but didn't go out of the way to greet or welcome us in any way. Room ended up being more expensive than quoted on Booking.com as well as more than what was posted on hotel's website or on info handout at hotel. Since it was only a few extra Euro a night, I didn't want to argue but I didn't understand why the price would vary since I had been looking at the correct season. Breakfast costed extra and consisted of cheap box orange juice, coffee and white bread with jam.
Review 47:Room was mostly clean aside from a few stains on the floor. The location in Frigiliana was excellent. The jam at breakfast tasted homemade and was quite good. Toiletries were provided in bathroom. Heater and small TV were acessible and in working order. Small family run place. Safe provided in room.
Review 48:A bit unpersonal attitude, which is unusual for Andalusia. The WIFI was turned off 9pm-9am without prior warning.
Review 49:Location next to a pretty chapel, the town itself is very charming. The room had a new and clean bathroom.
Review 50:Wifi only in the reception area and corridor, and even been switched off during our stay in the evening! Poorest breakfast I ever had in a hotel, only 2 pieces of toast with butter, one cup of orange juice, coffee, nothing more. It was off-season, but should they give careless service because of that!
Review 51:The bed was very small in width and length unfortunately didn't sleep the best
Review 52:This hotel is very quaint and full of charm. The owners are really nice and friendly. The beds were small for us and a bit uncomfortable unfortunately as it was extremely clean immaculate actually
