Reviews for Hotel Reyes Catolicos

Review 1:Photo of room on booking com is different from what we got in reality. The room was very tiny and it was quite difficult to fit 4 people in the room which did not have much space left. There was also problem to park close to hotel.

Review 2:Location close to all interesting places. Very nice service and very open to help us.

Review 3:A pretty old room and furnishings. Smelled of smoke

Review 4:We arrived late but there was someone at the desk to check us in :) parking right in front of the hotel

Review 5:The first room we were given stank of smoke and didn't have a bath (despite asking for one). When we asked for an alternative room, the second one was excellent and had a bath. It's not the hotel's fault that people have smoked in the room, but the experience showed that they don't read the requests you send.

Review 6:Great location - just a few minutes walk to the old town and not far from a free car park. Good beds and clean, well-appointed bathroom.

Review 7:Booked a bed with a double bed. We received a room with 3 separate beds. The receptionist told us they were out of rooms with double beds. The first guest to arrive get a double bed.

Review 8:cheap breakfast

Review 9:The breakfast was not very variable (no eggs, no cheese nor sausage) and the ready made relish to make oneself a tostada de tomate rather tasted like ketchup than freshly squeezed tomatoe so I got fed up with this breakfast after a couple of days, but that is just a minor detail.

Review 10:I had asked for a quiet room since my stay was for six days altogether and I was given a room facing the rear side of the building. Really quiet and very comfortable. The room was spacious and the staff really very friendly.

Review 11:It was a very warm welcoming into the hotel, despite arriving after midnight. The hotel was extremely clean, always helpful, and the location was perfect!

Review 12:For a triple room the space was a little cramped but the beds were very comfortable

Review 13:The hydromassage bath was very welcome after a days drive from the mediterranean coast (600 kilometres)

Review 14:We asked for a non-smoking room, but our bedroom reeked terribly of smoke. We chose not to have breakfast to save a little money, also because there were some vending machines on the first floor: they did not work at all (neither in the morning nor in the evening). We actually could use at least a little water. The free public parking mentioned in the hotel description is always full, since it is just the combination of the parking spaces situated along the road and the hotel is quite close to city centre. If you have a car and you're not lucky, you're going to need the private parking. (We had a motorbike, so we simply parked on the wide sidewalk.)

Review 15:There was air conditioning in the room and it worked very well. WiFi worked well, too. There was always someone at the reception: you had just to ring the bell to enter anytime you wanted. There is a big supermarket right in front of the hotel.

Review 16:I felt the floor in the bedroom could do with a really good clean as our feet were dirty after walking on it. Maybe the cleaner uses a dry mop, but it could do with having a steam mop go over it.

Review 17:Warm welcome by a friendly and helpful receptionist. Spacious rooms, fantastic air con, excellent FREE WIFI !!, comfy beds with very clean linen, nice sized bathroom which was spotlessly clean, superb secure parking worth every bit of the 10 euro's. We stayed here on our trip down to Portugal and would stay here again.

Review 18:One of the best hotels of my cycle trip around Spain. Let me take bike in room. On a main street but quiet and 10 minutes walk from the centre. Drinks and snacks machine.

Review 19:The wifi was a problem but that is pretty normal travelling. Still frustrating! But they did their best to fix the problem.

Review 20:The friendly and helpful staff. Their willingness to give me info about Zemora. Called a taxi and spoke to taxi driver as I don't speak Spanish....but I try and hands are very useful! Also nice to have a bar!

Review 21:The hotel parking was down a very steep drive and the roof was too low for our 4X4. The did not warn us about the height restriction.

Review 22:I liked the vending machine that sold snacks

Review 23:A bit too close to a main road; not easy to find approaching from the South; no off-road parking- although they did have reserved sites outside the hotel on the road.

Review 24:Nice old style building and rooms; good bathroom; close to central area.

Review 25:The counter staff (the female one) is unfriendly. We asked for a non-smoking room, but they gave us a smoking room, and it was quite stinking. We then switched to another non-smoking room, but the atmosphere in the room and the hallway is also bad. The heater in our room did not work.

Review 26:It is very cheap at the location.

Review 27:nothing

Review 28:Well located, about 10min walking from the city center and 10min from the Main Train Station, right in between which is good to arrive, go to the city center and come back, everything is on walking distance. Very nice hotel, comfortable, no issues at all.

Review 29:Shower difficult to use (comes with a page of instructions in Spanish) and a bit smelly.

Review 30:A short walk from the main railway station and a short walk from the old town. Nice staff. Early check-in. Good size of the room, with a good bathroom. Air-conditioning working perfectly well. TV and WiFi connection all correct. There's a good cafe next to the hotel and a small supermarket in front of it if you need anything.

Review 31:If your car is big be prepared to do a nineteen point turn to park it but you can be sure it's safe.

Review 32:Very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable accommodation not far from the pedestrian area of Salamanca, secure underground parking. Incredible value for money. Owner recommended a great place to eat.

Review 33:We had on-street parking for the rental car. Room was small and well past its prime. The hotel needs renovation. Bathroom was quite modern but very cramped.

Review 34:Well located near the main station and a short walk to the central city with its spectacular sights. The hotel was ordinary was clean and efficient. We did not have breakfast.

Review 35:Everything was fine here and no problems with language. The location is a short walk from the train station but a lot longer into the historic district and requires a taxi ride to the bus station.

Review 36:Breakfast limited. Some fruit and better breads would be good! Limited parking but we were able to get a space and parked outside the hotel.

Review 37:Helpful and knowledgeable staff, clean and 5 mins walk from the old pedestrian areas of Salamanca. Good soundproofing (Hotel is on the main street) and wifi. On request were given an excellent bed for a back problem. Bars nearby. Railway station up the road.

Review 38:The whole ambiance of the hotel was very positive and friendly. Staff very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the free wifi was an added bonus.Would not hesitate on staying here again.

Review 39:Breafast, But I don"t like packaged sweet buns,

Review 40:Room was very comfortable, on the street but double windows made the room quiet. All facities where very good, very reasonable.

Review 41:The massage shower was a bit strange, but otherwise the bathroom was large and functional. So not really a complaint.

Review 42:In this price range this hotel is an excellent choice. It is very homey, secure and clean. The furniture is not the newest but still in very good condition and the rooms are quite big. The staff is super friendly even if their English is not great. Looks like a family run business. Wifi connection excellent, you can easily work and even stream movies.

Review 43:Nothing!

Review 44:An absolute bargain and would not hesitate to use this hotel again if in the area. The room was light, spacious and immaculately clean. A sturdy travel cot was provided for our toddler. Bathroom was modern with decent shower. All staff were extremely helpful. If you are lucky you will be able to park immediately outside the hotel but even if this is full, the parking meters on the surrounding streets are very reasonable. Only a very short walk to the Old Town and an even shorter walk to Calle Van Dyke where we enjoyed wonderful Tapas and Sidra after busy days sightseeing. If you get a chance drive out to the Deuro National Park and take a boat ride!

Review 45:3 single beds in a very tiny and ugly room, the two beds facing each other were so close that my feet interfered with my buddy's at night.

Review 46:Nice private bathroom. Location OK. Air conditioning (a bit noisy)

Review 47:Nothing.

Review 48:Courtesy of the staff person at reception; position (just outside the old town centre); quality/price ratio (€32.85 the double). Breakfast is nothing special but you won't get anything much better in the nearby bar.

Review 49:Breakfast room small and could be overcrowded but adequate for price charged

Review 50:Excellent accommodation for price paid. Good secure garaging at reasonable price Wi Fi in rooms Friendly service for non English speaking owners. About 10 minutes walk from main shops and then further 10 minutes for Plaza Major Comfortable rooms. Would stay again

Review 51:Very small triple room, air conditioning off and on did not work but anyway was too noisy to be used during the night, television did not work, few electrical plugs to charge our mobile devices

Review 52:Great ratio price/value, good position at 15min to the center by foot, good wifi, small and big towels in the bathroom

Review 53:Car park was full so had to park on busy road. We weren't told that there was a breakfast option and location had very limited options to eat out.

Review 54:The room was pleasant and comfortable for the price

Review 55:English skills are a bit poor, but staff were very polite. The room smelled like damp/moldy old towels, which was strange as everything seemed to be clean otherwise.

Review 56:The hotel is very close to the center. It was extremely clean, big rooms with very comfortable beds and a good bathroom. Definitely worth the very cheap price.

Review 57:About 5 minutes from the main area and very reasonably priced. We took ataxi from the main bus station, it cost about 6 euros so it was easy tofind. We felt very safe and the staff were very helpful. The hotel alsohad bikes available to use at no extra cost and the area had designatedcycle paths.

Review 58:On my way back was sorry I stayed, lady on reception gave me the keys to garage despite me being fully loaded om my motorcycle, spoke little or no English room had 2 singles I asked for double bed, overlooking garage, one of the towels was not clean, no BBC news ch, breakfast was not very well organized , no sliced bread, no instructions on how to use coffee machine, will not be back next year.

Review 59:Was on motorcycle, good parking at a cost, on, guy spoke good english and on reception and told me all charges, booked double bed and got one , room overlooking the street was good , had BBC news ch, room was clean and bed very comfortable, next morning guy on reception look after breakfast everything good .

Review 62:The manager/ main staff member Lorenzo was fantastic, both friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic 5 minutes walk to the main walkway/ plaza

Review 63:At such good value, close to the city, what is not to like?

Review 64:Within easy walking distance to all the main tourist sites. Able to park on the street close to the hotel with no meters. Reception 24/7 and night staff were extremely helpful when one of us took ill, and showed us to a hospital just 2 minutes away.

Review 65:One of the 3 rooms we rented smelled of cigarrets. The other 2 were fine.

Review 66:Good value for money.

Review 67:Nothing bad

Review 73:- staff is helpful - location not far from train station - facilities

Review 74:location is good. 10 minute walk to old town. But no free parking in front of the hotel. Hotel own parking lot charged 11 EUR per day.

Review 110:Good location, comfortable room, good AC.

Review 111:Good location, breakfast not included but there are many "cafés" in the same street and vending machines in the hotel. City center is close, 5-10min walk from the hotel. Parking can be a problem, so ask for it in advance.

Review 112:very nice personnel, before you even think about it – they give a map and mark with a pen what you should see, all the sightseeing within walking distance – location is great; parking is free; free wifi everywhere. yes, walls are thin so you may hear your neighbors but except this, everything is good. I do recommend to stay here

Review 113:Very friendly and helpful staff, we had some laundry to be done and it was done free of charge! Convenient parking arrangement, one can park your car securely in the basement next to the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of all the wonderful sites in Salamanca, it is on a busy street but the windows are double-glazed so there is no annoying street noise. The owner provided us with a street map and pointed out which route to follow to the sites, he also made some suggestions regarding churches, museums and restaurants which we followed up, to our delight. Good internet reception. We can recommend this hotel highly, if one arrives by car it is easy to find, you can park your car with the help of the owner, and then walk around this wonderful town and enjoy the magnificent architecture, We will certainly return! Don't miss the church of San Esteban, it is an absolute must.

Review 114:Nothing not to like

Review 115:We enjoyed our experience there, very lucky to have parked right outside the hotel for two nights, three days for free! Highly recommend Calle Van Dyke for tapas bars especially Chinitas

Review 116:it was quite noisy upstairs and you can hear the people passing by talking on the corridor. the staff did offer to change my room if im bothered again on the second night.

Review 117:the staff was very friendly and helpful and allowed late check out.

Review 118:The breakfast is expensive. The walls are thin, so you hear some noise from other rooms, but it didn't bother me.

Review 119:Perfect location, close to the old town and also to the train station. Friendly and helpful staff, clean.

Review 120:Our experience had no negatives other than having to leave early.

Review 121:We had booked to stay four nights but due to a family emergency had to leave after one night. When checking out, Lorenzo on reception was very helpful and only charged us for the time we stayed in the hotel. We will definitely book here again and we hope to return and visit the city in the new year. The room was very comfortable with an excellent shower and was very good value for money. The centre is a close walk away as is the train station. Thanks again to Lorenzo.

Review 122:A cosy little single room. Friendly, helpful staff. Good location to arrive by train and visit the city sights. I would stay, again, on another visit to Salamanca.
