Reviews for Grand Hotel du Midi

Review 1:a little far from the tram but there are many buses lines nearby

Review 2:near train station. room with complete bath room although it was mentioned shared shower. halal food arround.

Review 3:I was surprised that there was no room sevice on a 2 night stay - I don't mind making my own bed, but would expect a clean towel without having to ask for it. Lift access involves a few stairs.

Review 4:The location opposite the SNCF Station is extremely convenient for rail travelers. The fact that breakfast was available from 06.30 was also useful - and breakfast included ham/ cheese/ cereal as well as the 'Continental staples' of bread, jam & croissants

Review 5:Bar/Restaurant that appears on the ground floor of photos is boarded up. Nowhere to eat nearby on a Sunday except Kebab and Pizza.

Review 6:Characterful old hotel.

Review 7:The lift is tiny but we fit all our bags and one person in. This hotel is not suitable for people with reduced mobility for this reason. There are a lot of stairs! Apart from that we really liked this hotel.

Review 8:Good price, good location. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated rooms. Free wifi. The lovely restaurant down the road gave us a discount because we were staying in the area.

Review 9:Did not like having to park in street as area was busy with revellers through the night - although luckily car remained undamaged! Charges for car parking 6 euros provided we moved by 9.00 am.

Review 10:The broken fan in bedroom was repaired for us quickly.

Review 11:At arrival they give us the key of an occupied room!! (computer, money.... all over the table!! :/ ) Unattentive staff, specialy the morning turn reception woman

Review 12:Near train station Good price Rooms with bathroon

Review 13:Not suitable for travelers with children by car. No parking. Even no possibility for drop off next to hotel's doors. Nearest parking (paid) 150 meters away. Far from city center. Not suitable for disabled people.

Review 14:Probably good option for transit travelers by train as this hotel located opposite to train station.

Review 15:The small lift is cramp and up five steps. I was travelling with my disabled mother, who I had to help climb the stairs to get to the lift, then she had to travel in the lift on her own as there wasn't room for the both of us and her walker. This concerned her as she is frightened of become stuck in a lift.

Review 16:Staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and spacious, location quiet even though opposite the station, the breakfast was very good, and the neighbouring bar was good for an evening meal, the staff there were also friendly and helpful. English speaking staff at both, so we had no problem ordering food, or making arrangements.

Review 17:Like all France accommodation they do not cater for tea or coffee in your rooms. This would make a huge difference.

Review 18:Good budget accommodation with good clean linen

Review 19:No kettle in the room.

Review 20:Friendly staff and good value for money. Convenient location next to the train station. Clean and comfortable.

Review 21:Will bring my own pillow next time - theirs were old fashioned bolster type. Not for me.

Review 22:Perfect for station. Super friendly staff. Nice breakfast.

Review 23:Very convenient for the station.

Review 24:very small lift

Review 25:excellent location next to station, 10 min walk into centre

Review 26:Facing the train station, quiet and comfortable, friendly staff

Review 27:Wi-fi connection was horrible, every 3 minutes I had to reconnect, it was awful :(

Review 28:Location and Staff

Review 29:Not much choice in restaurants in area

Review 30:Not a bad hotel good value for money if u just passing through

Review 31:Attic rooms without street view. A bit rundown.

Review 32:Good location and easy parking in this time of the year (summer holidays).

Review 33:Bed comfort

Review 34:Cheap

Review 35:too much light for nothing in the stair case, waste of energy

Review 36:Cosy environment, "vieille France"

Review 37:In weekend, breakfast served from 7:30.

Review 38:Good location, just in front of the railway station/

Review 39:We arrived later than expected but were still able to collect our room keys - possibility of late check-in at 11pm was much appreciated! I also found the staff at the check-in desk very helpful and polite.

Review 40:A bit noisy early in the morning. Room would have been very cramped with two occupants. (I had single occupancy of a double)

Review 41:Right opposite the railway station but NOT 'seedy'! Bus stop outside for short bus ride to historic centre and main square (or uphill 10-15 min walk). No frills, but what my mother would call 'wholesome'. Buffet breakfast good value with reasonable choice. Hotel has a LIFT, which is not always the case for this price bracket.

Review 42:The wifi demanded login far too often, which was annoying. There was a lot of construction noise outside the hotel. And the thin walls made that noise and other noises from rooms around mine very audible. It's a bit farther from the town center (Place de Jaude) than I hoped. Elevator is extremely small. Only one luggage and a person would barely fit.

Review 43:Very close to the train station. Wifi worked.

Review 44:The beds were uncomfortable and on one of the days, the cleaners did not take out the rubbish or make the beds. The breakfast is over-priced.

Review 45:The location and the staff are great.

Review 46:The staff were extremely unhelpful with regards any queries we had and unknowledgable about the whole area. The lift was too small for any cases and these have to be carried up the stairs. Situated in a very noisy area, the shower did not work properly and the bed was uncomfortable. 6Euros.50 for breakfast which was just a croissant and a yoghurt when you can travel across the road and buy the same from a shop for 1Euro.

Review 47:It was closeby to the cathedral, town centre and the Stade Marcel Michelin.

Review 48:very tired, noisy lacking any facilities. uncomfortable bed, poor pillow, surly staff, no shower,(which it said it did have), everything shut on Sunday and most on Monday

Review 49:close to Station, reasonable up hill walk to town and Rugby Match

Review 50:One of female reception staff was rude, a smile costs nothing. Shower has no bracket so which makes having a shower awkward. Simple fix.

Review 51:Great location opposite railway station, room was a decent size, clean & tidy.

Review 52:My shower was a bit weak in the morning, probably because everyone was taking a shower at the sane time.

Review 53:The reception attendant, Rita, was extremely kind and welcoming and the continental beakfast was very good.

Review 54:I was in a fairly noisy room as I could hear the railway announcements from the railway station across the street. However, this did not stop me having a reasonable night's sleep.

Review 55:I think the location is excellent as it is opposite the railway station. It is within walking distance of the Cathedral, shops and restaurants. The hotel is a good budget option if you are on business or want a city break without breaking the bank.

Review 56:It's just opposite the station. It offers very good value for money. The staff were courteous and helpful and the breakfast offered a good variety of items. The room was spacious and clean.

Review 57:Convenient for the station - just across the road. Good choice of TV channels, including BBC World Excellent breakfast - good value Still retains French charm

Review 58:albeit we arrived on a sunday and most restaurants were closed, the concierge made no effort to try to locate somewhere we could eat. also, on my serach filter I said I required parking. when this hotel came up in the results I assumed it had parking. it had no parking and we therefore had to take the bikes off the roof of the car and bring them into the hotel and I had to leave the car in a side road by the station overnight which felt very unsafe. the rooms were dusty and not aired and the beds smelt unclean. my son found human hairs in his bed. i dared not look in mine

Review 59:Location-seedy Rooms and interior - dirty, shabby, grimy, and run down. Don't think they ever cleaned anything apart from changed the sheets. Not what we expected. For people on a really low budget- then you would get value for money, otherwise stay away.

Review 60:Nothing apart from clean sheets and towels. Not clean bedding, or curtains or carpets !!! Bathroom cleaner than the bedroom

Review 61:It is not air conditioned which is reflected in their pricing policy. Itwas very hot and we had to have the windows open. This gave us enoughventilation, but there was some noise from outside which would be aproblem if you like early nights. However, it was Euro 2012 and the Jeand'Arc Festivities at the time, and it did get quiet after around 23.00.

Review 62:Extremely good value for money - a freindly, pleasantly furnished hotelclose to the railway station. Although this is a little out of town, frequent buses stop 50m away to take you to the heart of the town in acouple of minutes.

Review 63:It was a nice hotel. Opposite to the train station. Our room had twobalconies to two different streets and it was a nice room. Veryrecommended. We didn't try the breakfast but beside the hotel they are afew places to have your breakfast.

Review 64:The hotel, although across from the gare is in an area a little rough, not too nice walking back from town. Its also about a 15/20 min uphillwalk into the town centre, a little annoying. And from the outside, thehotel aint pretty but inside its very nice!

Review 65:My room was great, very big with own shower (was unexpected) plus awidescreen tv and digital channels. There was even a couple of sweetsfor you in the room! Although in a busy area it was very quiet andthe staff were so nice and helpful. A really great hotel for a coupleof nights.

Review 66:No aircon

Review 67:Location near the train station.

Review 68:Great place to stay and great location.

Review 69:The hotel is shabby and in a bad area

Review 70:The staff were helpful

Review 85:Location, opposite station is excellent & no noise problems at all.
