Reviews for El Jardín del Convento
Review 1:A fabulous house with a character which oozes genuine quality that could only come from one occupied by the same family for 160 years. It's the only Spanish hotel or casa rural I've stayed in twice.
Review 2:Nothing, it was great.
Review 3:The lady who was in charge was lovely. Very helpful and clearly trying to learn English (her English was about as good as my Spanish so we got there between the two of us!). Lots of parking outside and we only had two motorbikes. We'd only planned on staying there to sleep as we were heading back to Santander, but it was so beautiful we got up and went out around Hervas in the morning.
Review 4:The location, the garden , the terrace, the breakfast. Our hosts were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Hervas was very pretty. We had a lovely walk in the country side.
Review 5:An old building beautifully restored and conveniently located. A magnificent veranda overlooking the garden and mountains. Very helpful staff who directed us to a great restaurant. A hotel with real soul.
Review 6:This really was a find! Ive been to many botuque hotels and nothing compares to this. The website doesnt do it justice, The garden is large, full of roses, and vegetables with a view of the mountains. The large veranda covered with Asteria vines(?) has even more spectacular views. The staff goes out of their way to help you with every little detail. But the breakfast is the real treat, all local cheeses and pastries, a huge variety of fruits, etc...make sure to try one of the five unusual and delicious home made jams! Really astounding!
Review 7:There was nothing I didn't like
Review 8:The hotel garden, that the staff were so proud of. The location of the hotel in a lovely quaint Spanish town The friendliness and advice from the owner. We had tried to book an evening meal, but the hotel didn't do it, instead the owner chose a lovely restaurant for us, taking into account my need for gluten free
Review 9:nothing to report
Review 10:The way we were received and the explanation of things to do, see, eat and drink in Hervàs and the surroundings. The view on the garden and the surrounding mountains The presentation of the breakfast which was exceptional The walk around the town and into the Jewish quarter.
Review 11:Only staying 1 night.
Review 12:Excellent position. Beautiful building. Excellent price. Brilliant breakfast. Friendly staff. Such a good find. 4+ hours from bilbao so a great stop on the way south. Staying just one day which was a shame as fabulous hills to walk in. Will be back.
Review 13:The fact that we could only stay one night!
Review 14:Made to feel very welcome by Amos who recommended several restaurants and points of interest in the locality. We stayed in room 5 of this lovely old building which was refurbished to a high standard.
Review 15:Good location at the top of the town with view of the hills. Very friendly and attentive manager who gave me a helpful description of the town--places to go, where to eat etc. The building has been sympathetically restored and the convento has nice gardens looking towards the hills.
Review 16:Staff very helpful, breakfast outstanding.

Review 35:We loved everything about our stay. Thanks for the good advice you gave us about restaurants to visit and the visit to the National Parc Monfragüe on our way to Badajoz. We had a great walk and loved the eagles. Also many thanks to the kind gentleman who served us a delicious breakfast.
Review 36:Nothing adverse at all
Review 37:This was a great hotel starting with the welcome from the owner after our long drive from Santander. Our room was outstanding and the hotel has been the family home for many years. Very stylish! The facilities were top class all round and the location is fabulous with a lovely garden overlooking te mountains To top it all the breakfast was great and set us up for a lovely walk round the village before driving on to Portugal. We will return.
Review 38:Genuinely friendly staff. Home-made breakfast with organic produce from the relaxing garden (with view on the mountains). A quiet escape from the daily rumble of Spain...
Review 39:everything was great
Review 40:It was one of the most charming places we have stayed and we travel the world. The garden with the abundance of magnificent roses that made their way to our room was a delight. Breakfast was artist and great!
Review 41:We loved this hotel, originally a Convent. All the old features had been preserved with all the comforts expected, without any of the character being lost. Our room opened up onto a terrace, with furniture to relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful garden and hills in the distance, also the view over breakfast. The location was perfect, easy to find and the staff couldn't do enough to make us welcome and our stay memorable.
Review 42:El Jardin del Convento is a little piece of paradise. peaceful, charmingly decorated, incredible garden and wonderful hosts. Definitely would stay there again when visiting Hervás.
Review 43:Once checked in there was no one around and nowhere to make a cup of tea. The shower was in the middle of the bath making it a bit awkward. The outside door opened on to a public terrace, making the room not feel very private. We arrived on Thursday and a lot of bars and restaurants were closed.
Review 44:Friendly welcome, great room very comfortable nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Good views, pretty garden.Good location in the middle of an old square easy walking to town centre.
Review 45:A lovely place to stay. Yes, the rooms and bathrooms are compact but the place is charming and interesting as is the town and surrounding countryside. Good value too as was the excellent restaurant in the evening which they recommended.
