Reviews for La Posada Morisca
Review 1:It was a bit farther into town than booking.com led us to believe. The weather was nice so we chose to walk into town rather than drive. We skipped the continual bkfst gor 8eurod and walked into town. The wifi was very spotty and only available on the common area.
Review 2:Warm and friendly staff. We had great food for dinner. We skipped the continental Horst for 8 euros and went into town. Excellent food.
Review 3:Views from the terrace were fabulous and rooms very comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. The staff were delightful and nothing too much trouble. I would love to come back.
Review 4:Nothing. Excellent.
Review 5:Excellent. Beautiful location. Great breakfast and beautiful dinner. Nice pool area. Can walk to Frigiliana from here. Great view. Quiet.
Review 6:Beautiful en charming location with views on the village of Frigiliana, the sea and the mountains, welcoming hosts, nice dinner and breakfast, tastfully decorated rooms
Review 7:Beautiful location and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definately return to this hotel. The road is pretty steep but the views are breathtaking.
Review 8:Not ideal if you don't like dogs as they do have 3 large (but friendly) dogs running around.
Review 9:The hotel is beautifully decorated and each room has a lovely private terrace with a stunning view of Frigiliana, the valley and sea below. Very comfy bed! Gorgeous food in the restaurant (again with the amazing view!). Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break, but also a great base for discovering the area and only 20 mins drive from the beach at Nerja.
Review 10:The location was about as remote as we would have wanted. About 3km from the town along a twisty mountain road and then a remote track, accessible but need a car. Room was good, nicely furnished and well equipped. Small grassed lawn with dip pool. Stunning views to Frigiliana and beyond to the coast. Despite what the web site says, breakfast is not included in the price, but not expensive, breakfast is continental, breads, cold meats, fruit and coffee, good if you get there early enough but when supplies run low did not seem to be regularly replenished. Small bar with friendly service. Would stay here again and recommend.
Review 11:Small downside: no wifi in the rooms.
Review 12:The location and views are breathtaking. It was very warm (upper thirties) but due to the location there is much shade and a cool breeze. Great location for visits to the beach, nearby cities, mountains and Granada.
Review 13:Internet was only available in the reception/bar area. It would have been good to have it in the rooms too.
Review 14:The Posada is beautifully located in the hilly countryside. The only way to get there is through steep dirt roads but it adds to its charm. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and each has its own little terrace. Pool is great with lovely views. The staff is very nice and helpful. We had dinner there once and the food was very good.
Review 15:Thank you Maria for your hospitality. We will come back and hope that you will keep running it.
Review 16:The restaurant is very good and the food very delicious. The wine as well.
Review 17:20 minute walk on a country road in the pitch dark at night is not safe and it's another 10 minute walk to the centre of Frigliana. We killed at least 50 Mosquitos in the room and there was always more. Only stayed one of our two booked nights. Never seen so many mosquitos in one room and I've been all over South East Asia
Review 18:Frigliana village is very beautiful
Review 19:1.Bathroom wasn't up to scratch when it comes to cleanlines. We had to use bleach to clean it perfectly. 2.Moscitos. there should have been a treatment against those in the area or something in the doors and windows to protect from those insects.we had to sleep at night with all doors and windows closed.
Review 20:Location was beautiful - rural and peaceful but yet close to all main attraction of the area - Nerja beaches,Frigiliana,Malaga and Granada .hotel itself was beautifully decorated with an old Spanish style in mind. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good as well with fresh fruits, cheeses and Spanish sausages. Cakes for a desert. All fresh and tasty.
Review 21:Great staff. Personal service. Tasteful room decor. Amazing views of the sea. Great dinner. Terrific Sangria. Good breakfast. Charming lobby with sofas, chairs, beautiful music. Great for relaxing with a drink. Tremendous value.
Review 22:Be careful with mosquitos!!! Our rooms were full of them and we've got tons of mosquitos bite during night. Be prepared!
Review 23:Lovely view of the city and ocean from the restaurant and porch of each rooms. Friendly staff including lovely dogs and cats. We also had the dinner at this hotel and it was very good quality and delicious.
Review 24:The pool is an over-sized bathtub. Our room was not clean - there was a thick layer of dust under the bed. The staff was nice but not very attentive.
Review 25:The view was fantastic. The relaxed atmosphere among the guests made the stay easy and enjoyable.
Review 26:The atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly, the room was lovely with beautiful views which even though it was raining, were very uplifting! It was easy to find with good signposts and a short walk into the village down a picturesque track.
Review 27:Lovely homely place, owned by a lovely young couple. Very friendly and obliging. Gave us the makings of a fire when we wanted to light the fire in our room, lovely! Dinner, no suitable veggies options, chef came out and discussed what would suit and made it specially, yummy! Lovely cosy fire in the dining room. Loved all the dogs, especially big Wilson.
Review 28:Spectacular views from room and hotel, very comfortable. We loved having our own little terrace for the evening. Frigiliana village was also lovely we went to a restaurant recommended by the host and it was excellent
Review 29:- Quality of bed/internet - Quite difficult to find as it is located in the street with No Name (no clear sign at the front road) - Reception open at 9am (while sometimes guest might need early check-out)
Review 30:- Quiet area in a bit remote distance from downtown - Great scene - Owner/staff's hospitality
Review 31:Great views of Frigiliana, sea and mountains, though about 15 minutes walk from the town (if you like walking, a nice trip - if not a car will be an advantage, as you otherwise will have to take a taxi). Nice staff, good breakfast, room with a terrace
Review 32:Rooms were a little 'rustic' but it was part of the charm. It's a 10 min windy drive to Frigiliana and we were told we couldn't walk at night because of the savage pigs!
Review 33:Wonderful views, rural, rustic location and a great hideaway. Loved the goats parade as they were put to bed in the evening. Staff were lovely but a bit distracted due to their impending wedding. Loved 'Lola' the little dalmatian puppy!
Review 34:The rudest waiter I have ever had in my life! Definitely not a gourmet restaurant but gourmet prices & attitude with subpar food. The room was small & dark. Too far from the town & the road to the hotel was in very poor condition. The walk up to the hotel reception & rooms (you can't drive) is VERY steep especially hard to walk with luggage. Not worth the price.
Review 35:I loved the view but it's pretty far from Frigiliana.
Review 36:Maybe a larger variety for breakfast.
Review 37:The view from the hotel is astonishing. Easy to find in a quite rural environment, but not too far from the sea. The staff is helpful, the rooms leave a better impression then seen on the photos, authentic rural and yet practical, usable and nice.
Review 38:The bathroom didn't drain freely. It was a 25 minute walk into town but an easy 5 minute drive.
Review 39:We had the large terrace room with stunning views overlooking frigiliana. It was spacious and clean, with high ceilings.
Review 40:The way to arrive there needs navigation system...
Review 41:extremely nice staff. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Restaurant offered amazing food on the terrace. Unconventional style
Review 42:The waiter in the evening at the restaurant was a bit stressed - for no apparent reason. Bit of a shame when you're at a rural hotel with a great view of Frigiliana and the mountains and where you come to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Review 43:Great view from terrace at the room, the pool and the restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere.
Review 44:Cramped and inadequate accommodation. Not suitable for most older people. The access is by very narrow unpaved track with very few passing places. No lunch service.
Review 45:The view is excellent, looking out towards Nerja and the sea
Review 46:Fantastic, authentic boutique hotel. Great view. Tasty food. Cozy rooms.
Review 47:The wonderful location, the individual shabby chic room decor, the quality of the dinner and creativity of the menu.
Review 48:Wi Fi not good.
Review 49:Lovely views, and quiet, and the staff were excellent.
Review 50:Staff excellent and very helpful and very pleasant. Beautiful location and views.
Review 51:The whole experience.Good food and wine with delightful table service.
Review 52:Beautiful location short drive to beach and historic Frigilana.Lovely walking routes lovely food !
Review 53:location view staff terrific value
Review 54:Nothing
Review 55:Staff very helpful. Glorious views. Excellent breakfast.
Review 56:Pool very shallow and small A little too off the beaten track
Review 57:Staff welcome. Good breakfast Lovely views
Review 58:The beautiful setting and peacefulness of the hotel. The owners were very friendly (as were their dogs!) and the attention to detail was fantastic.
Review 59:No fridge in the room.
Review 60:Liked everything- room, staff, view, dogs and cats:) The deco in the room and hotel showed a lot of care and attention.
Review 61:we could"n have our morning coffe before 9.30 :-(
Review 62:ALL It was a fantastic place. We love it.
Review 63:Very quite with nice view
Review 64:The pool and the pool area were smaller than the picture
Review 65:Tranquility
Review 66:Views were just amazing, the restaurant was nice as well, also had perfect eye bird view. There is advantage of this place there is a road for walking which connects the hotel and the city Frigiliana, takes some 15 one way, amazing to walk, full of flowers and greens.
Review 67:the waiting for service during the day was the only thing. And since it was world cup - not getting any of the games on the InOutTV was frustrating.
Review 68:Location is terrific. Staff were very helpful, nice and friendly - but not many of them so we did have to wait for service. Rooms were very, very nice. Had a special feel about our stay.
Review 69:Internet not working nighttime. Restaurant not good for the prices. The chef didn't quite make Masterchef
Review 70:Beautiful location on a hillside. Maybe a little to long walk to the village. Nice poolside and terraces.
Review 71:'Superior Room' was lacking in amenities (no phone, no UK TV channels), space (nowhere to put cases except if unpacked), no WiFi or connectivity in room, no hot water (varies depending on how far room is from the tank - in our case, 5 minutes+ of wasted water to get any).
Review 72:Location; General arrangement of facilities; Homely atmosphere; Friendly reception
Review 73:Limited chose for breakfast Loose tiles in shower area Difficulty in unlocking door from inside room (no.12) Grubby looking glasses on breakfast bar, chipped plates and stained cups Some area look in need of a good cleaning Limited toiletries in bathroom
Review 74:Good location on hillside, within walking distance of Frigiliana. Friendly and polite staff
Review 75:No Wifi in the room. It is impossible to find the hotel by GPS, we have to call the host for help.
Review 76:The view is great and just face the Frigiliana town. We have a balcony and sit there to enjoy the beautify environment. The host is great.
Review 77:Need a car to drive to Nerja for dinner in winter, because kitchen is close and most restaurants in Nerja to, but when more people would discover this lovely posada in wintertime they might feel the need to have their own restaurant open too. So, book and go!
Review 78:Very nice owner family, and very helpfull with questions, real good hosts. Lovely woodstove for chilly winters, nicely decorated and a good bed. Very good price in wintertime
Review 79:Superiorrooms a bit on the small side.
Review 80:The straff, the location, the fond. The fact that they had a dog. The scenery, the silence. The large private terace
Review 81:I booked two rooms using the same name, but the reception made a mistake, only reserved one room.So it's really a pity we finally changed another hotel.
Review 82:the reception is very nice helping us booking another hotel and leading the way to here. she also gave us a dinner for free which is delicous as a refund since it's too late to find a restuant here.
Review 83:Distance from Frigiliana, you can't get into town without using your car unless you want to take a firm hike
Review 84:Lovely place with an amazing view and very nicely decorated rooms, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast
Review 85:Excellent balcony, excellent breakfast and dinner, very close to beautiful Frigiliana and for a swim at Nerja. Maria is the ideal hostess of a beautiful small hotel in the andalousian countryside.
Review 86:Limited dinner options. Not much 'atmosphere' Not sure it was value for the price
Review 87:Vistas. Room and large bed Swimming pool area Willing staff, though new member was not very efficient
Review 88:A few niggles here and there like the huge resident dog was not put in one night and kept us up for alot of the night barking. But typical Spanish to have dogs barking at night in these valleys. (needless to say it slept all day, as we did too, catching up on a few ZZZzz.) But we´d stay again.
Review 89:Away from it all hillside retreat with great views of the coast. Very relaxing and quiet. Staff good and very helpful. Worth staying in for the good dinners .
Review 90:It was a bit cold but they have heating and extra blankets.
Review 91:We love the relax country atmosphere and the food. The room was nice with a small separate sitting area and large terrace.
Review 92:This hotel is located outside the town of Frigiliana and set slightly higher than the town itself. A car is therefore needed to access. However, it is well worth the small effort to reach it. And note that helpfully the Posada is well sign-posted to help locate. The accommodations are almost separate units and comfortably furnished, if a little dark. But they are charming and more than adequate. The views of the mountains and the village are beautiful and it is very peaceful and quiet. We took breakfast and dinner for the two days stay (partly because of the distance from the town), but neither disappointed. Food is good and dining room pleasant, and if you wish you an eat in the terrace, We had our breakfast on the 2nd morning outside as it was a clear day and very enjoyed it. It was difficult to leave in fact. Oh and the Hotel has a lovely dog and cat which for me added to the charm. Would definitely recommend both for itself as and as a base to visit the town which is very beautiful and for walking in the area.
Review 93:Wifi - not able to connect in room was sometimes a problem, since wewere trying to research things online for this trip, but the loungearea is relaxing over a drink to do this, so in reality - it wasnt ahuge issue.
Review 94:We loved everything about La Posada - their staff, the room, the food, the views, the cute dogs and cat :-) beautiful spot
Review 95:I liked everything
Review 96:The location looked over the valley and onto the sea. The staff were very helpful and accomodation was very comfortable. a great place to relax or base yourself dfor walks in the local hills.
Review 97:Great place with great staff!
Review 98:Need to hose down patio, area, seating not very comfy In restruant or patio. Ran out of mixers and wine. .
Review 99:The small bathroom. There are different rooms with different bathes.
Review 100:The View. The pool with the silence to relax
Review 101:Very difficult road to get out there.
Review 102:The view, the location, the staff.... About everyhthing
Review 103:Restaurant quite costly
Review 104:Location,relaxing,glorious views.
Review 105:Beautiful setting, wonderful dinner menu. Very friendly staff.
Review 106:All rooms comfortable with great views. Very quiet location. Excellent food
