Reviews for Hotel Mar Bell
Review 1:Old hotel, breakfast was a joke - had no table allocated, then when sat down at an empty table, got moved twice with the manager having a go at us for causing him problems, for £50 a night he can learn to treat customers with a bit more respect. poor bedding, uncomfortable bed. Shows hotel has wifi, but only in bar and not in the rooms. Was the most expensive room rate we paid while in Majorka, and was the worst value. Other days paid closer to £20 a night and was much better - had an apartment everytime. Oh Yeah, place was full of Germans - Great!
Review 2:Soller is quite pretty. Tram is good.
Review 3:Air conditioning system pumped out more warm air than cool air
Review 4:The location was just where we wanted to be away from the shopping area but near to bars and restaurants
Review 5:The bar could have been a bit better ,the meal at night was a bit strange . Chicken leg with Currie sauce and mash potatoes and peas. A bit off putting. It was a very good price 8 euro for a three course meal.
Review 6:We stayed in a room on floor 4 with a wonderful view over the port. The breakfast was good. Steff friendly
Review 7:Very basic. The air con pretty much didn't exist. Not sure how people manage during the full on summer. Very noisy. The balcony overlooked the promenade and you have to keep the windows shut to be able to sleep. With virtually no air con it was challenging! The room itself was big but very tired. No shampoo/soap in the bathroom. That awful looking dispenser can't be taken seriously! The food wasn't very good either. We only had breakfast there and I wouldn't recommend it.
Review 8:It's a good location, easy to get to. Easy access to all the cafes and the beach. Fantastic view! The room was cleaned every day. Fresh towels provided. Nice staff, very relaxed and welcoming.
Review 9:The Hotel is badly in need of an upgrade. There is rotting shutters and windows and doors. Air Conditioning did not work. Breakfast was ordinary and the manager of the restaurant was an arrogant pig.
Review 10:Sea View. Terrace.
Review 11:Bad maintanence - room was neglected , dirty walls and rust marks on the toiletries. We chose to skip breakfast as it didnt smell right ..
Review 12:The only thing good about it was the location
Review 13:Staff were always courteous but don't rush to assist!
Review 14:Good value no frills hotel. Pay extra for the good sized bedrooms overlooking the sea. Well worth it as the view is great and the cheaper rear facing rooms have no view whatsoever! Nice swimming pool which was never crowded. Breakfast out on the terrace is delightful!
Review 15:The food was abit heavy and stodgy for evening meals. More fresh salads fruits vegetables and a choice you could help yourself to would improve it but considering what you pay its not bad...
Review 16:Clean rooms, great view across the sea to the mountains, helpful staff, good clean simple hotel.
Review 17:wifi only in the lobby, poor breakfast, lack of isolation between rooms (we can hear every word from our neibours), old hotel (furniture, lamps etc.), unpleasant staff at the reception.
Review 18:location, nice back balcony
Review 19:The front rooms are great and so are some of the garden rooms at the back but others are a bit lacking in light
Review 20:The pool area is good and so were the breakfasts. A good hotel to practice your German rather than your Spanish
Review 21:Food on half-board very basic for the price we paid. Loads of choice of restaurants very nearby, so would eat elsewhere.
Review 22:The views from the bar and the location were fabulous and unbeatable!!! The pool was secluded and peaceful again with lovely views. Definitely not a flashy, brand new hotel if that's what you are looking for, but somehow retains some good, old-fashioned character. Clean rooms and helpful staff.
Review 23:Lack of privacy on balcony, food wasn't great and the breads , jams etc were poor quality and seemed stale
Review 24:Location was lovely and the shower excellent
Review 25:no orange juice for breakfast room was not really clean room was very small (compensated by nice terrace) no double beds (often happens in mallorca)
Review 26:location is to the side of the town, but still beachfront view of the town and bay friendly staff
Review 27:We had to continually ask for the aircon to be turned on. It was sunny & 25C every day & also quite hot at night. But in Oct this hotel's centralised aircon system isnt on all the time. Yes the room's vent would work, but it didnt blow cold air, just warm air. If I understood correctly they explained the chillers only came on if the temp went above 22C. Even when occasionally turned on, it was poor/not effective, making little difference. Very poor in this day and age
Review 28:Good seafront location, nice balcony room/view, clean, reasonably priced
Review 29:The location is outstanding, the staff friendly and the food is simple but good. There are obviously hotels nearby with higher star ratings but none have a better view and they are much more expensive.
Review 30:Breakfast limited choice & cleared away promptly at 9.45 despite reception telling us it was until 10am!
Review 31:Clean but basic- beautiful views from balcony override everything else- would defiantly return!
Review 32:Breakfast is not brilliant. In a spot where oranges are falling off the trees, it is a shame not to have real orange juice.
Review 33:Location right on the beach. Terrace which gets morning sun while having breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 34:We asked for a mountain view and got a view of a cliff side some 5 meters away from the balcony. The hotel was functional but a little dated. The room was very dark and old fashioned. Like for like with other properties (6) we stayed at on the island at a similar price this was the worst one.
Review 35:The Location was fantastic with amazing views across the bay. The Pool was very private and in an elevated part of the grounds.
Review 36:A fridge as well tea & coffee making facilities would have been great additions to the room.
Review 37:Given the room rate and the hotel's location Hotel Mar Bell is a very good hotel. It is very much a case of you get what you pay for but overall the pros definitely out weigh the cons.
Review 38:It was awesome.
Review 39:One bed was awful, the springs hurted
Review 40:The nearness to the sea, the lovely pool
Review 41:Property a bit tired - could be stunning with a lick of paint and a little updating.
Review 42:Location

Review 59:The location of the hotel was very close to the beach and the pool was in a great location to sunbathe. The room was clean and offered an amazing view of the harbour at day and night.
Review 60:Staff weren't very friendly or available at all times. Breakfast wasn't great but was included in price. We asked to switch to a queen bed, instead of twin and had an email confirming this was fine but when we arrived still had a twin room.
Review 61:Pool, location, view
Review 62:Don't expect to be waited upon 'hand and foot', this is not 5 star service but excellent value for money.
Review 63:Excellent location right on the sea front, superb views of the sea and mountains (sea view room). Very clean rooms and other areas. Quiet hotel, other guests (mainly German and French) very pleasant, staff very helpful.
Review 64:Nothing, it was great.
Review 65:The view was fabulous, my room looked over the sea, town and mountains - what more could anyone want?! I didn't use the pool but it was in a really beautiful location up behind the hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed and friendly, which was great for me as a solo traveller. The waiting staff were also very friendly. I would recommend this hotel, it's great value and will be my first choice when I return to Port Soller.
Review 66:Breakfast was poor - ersatz fruit juice, bad coffee, stale bread, congealed scrambled egg. Also complicated seating arrangement not conducive to friends sitting on same table.
Review 67:beautiful location, room with sea view, good swimming pool
Review 68:No wifi in room Poor wifi elsewhere 2 bunk beds in my room Broken tile in room Hole in towel Mediocre break fast but nice orange and melon

Review 71:Lovely stay, friendly owners and staff. Fantastic location at the side of the bay. Adequate continental breakfast buffet. Will definitely stay on our next visit to Port de Soller and have already recommended this hotel to others.

Review 74:Went for breakfast at 0900, total chaos, I bloke in the kitchen doing everything food out dirty dishes in, absence of food to eat as not replenished. breakfast was till 0945 and from 0900 to that time the sole hot dish - scrambled egg, was not replenished. not much better when we got there early the next day. only about four sum loungers around the pool
Review 75:It was good value for money, if you dont want to pay a lot dont expect a lot
Review 76:A bit hard to find if you are in a hire car - some good directions wouldbe useful.
Review 77:Great location right on the beach. Really helpful and friendly staff.
Review 78:No fridge in the bedroom
Review 79:Wonderful view from the large window in our bedroom. Very pleasent situation in the town and good value for money for a no frills hotel.
Review 80:Quite run down, in need of spruce up. Breakfast quite poor too.
