Reviews for Los Angeles Hotel & Spa

Review 1:Spa was not open very disappoint as we paid for it. Noise levels extremely high at 6,30 in morning. Staff very limited struggled to ask someone a question

Review 2:beware the false advertising; there are no bikes to rent, no karaoke, no minibar and the (small) spa is not included in your room price - the main reasons we booked. I expected tired, outdated decor, but touches like the overpowering cheap air freshener in the lobby and grumpy service dont help. oh, and you pay for everything; the two computers in the lobby, the pool table etc. the walls are thin so we were kept up - or woken - by a group partying next door - the walls are so thin you could hear them talking and laughing at 2am, 7am, 8am every night. we tried to leave after one night but couldnt find a way to do this on booking.com without losing our money.

Review 3:the rooms were large and clean, and although a bit out of the centre, the location is near a nice park and close to some good local bars.

Review 4:NOT recommended NO recomiendo este hotel. Bu otelde SAKIN kalmayin. This hotel can be maximum 2-3 stars hotel. Very old, uncomfortable and expensive. For the spa facilities you have to pay as others who are not staying in this hotel. I had a king size room with a balcony however there were no any electrical outlets in my room(there was only one in the bathroom.). I had to charge my mobile in the bathroom :). The marbles of the bathroom were broken. My room was separated from other room with a door and we were able to hear the other room..... Balcony doors and windows are not working well.... Very weird and not recommended hotel.

Review 5:The staff is really kind and helpful.

Review 6:The worse was a loud couple having sex next door, absolutely loud, screaming, banging walls- I have read that on another reviews here, seems like is a hotel for occasional couples - Horrible experience as there were lots of families with children- my son woke up, the couple went on and on, Grumpy and unfriendly reception staff, dismissive when I tried to complain about it. Toilets flood every time you have a shower. 4 stars? No way, absolutely no, is not a place to take your family.

Review 7:Room was clean

Review 8:Front desk manager was unfriendly. We dubbed him "Grumpypants". His favorite answer was "no". The light in the hallway by our room was set on a motion sensor and most of the time it didn't work -- not that pleasant.

Review 9:A great location for exploring Grenada. Away from the bustle of the center, yet close enough to walk to everything. Interesting neighborhood with many beautiful old university buildings and cool street art. Our room was big, and we had a private balcony overlooking the hot tub. Many facilities including spa, massage, and cafe, though the cafe was frustratingly not open on the weekday morning.

Review 10:Parking charges but it's the same for most centre locations. The cooked breakfast could have been better.

Review 11:Great location, huge room and spotlessly clean.

Review 12:Lack of electric kettle in the room or a vending machine in the hotel very expensive breakfast (but a buffet with good selection) and snack bar thin walls

Review 13:spacious room, big bed big balcony with excellent view over Sierra Nevada clean swimming pool free public parking area nearby

Review 14:The spa was 15 euros , not Fair for those who close The hotel for it..... The central heating on when it was really mild. Too hot in The room.... Bathroom Flooded after The shower....

Review 15:Where it was. Beautiful neighbourhood And very handy to walk to The city centre And The Alhambra.

Review 16:Cost of parking very high. No tea/coffee making facilities and cafe bar was unavailable due to electricity issues there. Rooms were generally in need and painting as walls were very badly marked. Wired internet unavailable in room. Balcony overlooking main road.

Review 17:Best part of stay was location to Granada City Centre. Beds were extremely comfortable. Staff were lovely. Shower/bathroom great. Buffet breakfast available. Balcony overlooking spa.

Review 18:Air conditioning and fridges just didn't work in two separate rooms. Rooms a bit dated all round. Stay away from the buffet dinner!

Review 19:Good location and helpful staff. Nice common areas. Good breakfast.

Review 20:Street was sometimes noisy (we had the street side room). Smell from the pool was overwhelming due to the water chlorination (room was above the pool). Bathroom water was not drinkable due to the chlorination, but that is in all Spain. Bring your own water. Wifi was bad, connection broke down very often.

Review 21:Hotel is very nicely decorated and classical style. Spa at the same facility. Rooms were huge. Beds very large and comfortable. Everything very clean. Every room had a balcony (at least on the pool side). Staff was friendly and helpful. Own garage but our car was at the front yard.Good location, only 15 minutes walk from the center, 20 minutes walk to Alhambra.

Review 22:Only downside was the food, not very exciting menu and breakfast not too good. The fruit should be fresh and more plentiful and the bacon should be crisp not soggy

Review 23:Very central hotel, very attractive, beautiful public rooms, very comfortable, nice balconies, ours overlooked the lovely swimming pool

Review 24:Kockroaches in bathroom (we got another room with upgrade, after informing the hotel staff Wifi was working very limited Room not well cleaned

Review 25:Nice spacious room 10 minute walk to city centre

Review 26:Totally old school hotel trapped in time, which is absolutely it's charm. Spotless, loads of character, felt like we were back in the 50's. Rooms a good size, beds amazingly comfortable, WiFi and Aircon iffy at times, a four star rating might be pushing it, but for €65 a night for a family of four this was outstanding value. Would and have recommended without hesitation.

Review 27:Wifi very slow, often unable to connect. Standard of room was very tired and worn looking.

Review 28:Location excellent for city centre and also for the Alhambra, 15mins walking to both. Pool area nice as is very hot during summer.

Review 29:The quality of the food was poor with an undercooked chicken served up at lunch and cheap poor quality ingredients for breakfast. Sad, because the rest of the experience was great.

Review 30:Friendly staff, always willing to help, great pool, about 10 minutes walk from the center of town.

Review 31:Not a 4 star hotel. It has been in the past, but has now turned into a hostel for 1 night coach parties. Breakfast completely self-service. Buffet dinner restaurant atrocious.

Review 32:Nice hotel, good location, good rooms, nice pool.

Review 33:The breakfast was ok only. Good coffee. Good continental but hot food mediocre.

Review 34:Excellent location. Easy walk to town. Loved the spa circuit included in the price.

Review 35:The shower leaked which flooded the floor. I put towels down - did the trick.

Review 36:Fantastic big room, with balcony, excellent pool, good staff, delicious food. Very good location, also good to walk around the area at night.

Review 37:Hotel is very far from the Alhambra. Its about a kilometer straight line distance, but its a good 25 min hike along winding roads. and oh did they forget to mention its about 200m vertical climb to he alhambra as well.

Review 38:Good overall.

Review 39:Although the hotel is classified as 4 star I would rate it only 1, possibly 2 stars at a stretch. The safe in the room didn't work and there was damp coming through the wall from the room next door. The room was in need of decorating. We had breakfast on 3 occasions and evening meal on 1 and while the cold items were fine anything which was hot was very poor, no better than school dinners in the early 1960's.

Review 40:We liked the comfort of the rooms and bed. The staff were friendly. We left our car in the hotels underground garage for the duration of our stay and used taxi's to get around.

Review 41:Staff did bot appear to be welcoming; had to wait a long time every time we wanted to talk to them.

Review 42:Clean, set in a residential area, outside the city centre, but within walking distance to town.

Review 43:The hotel air conditioner was turned off and the street was too noisy to open the windows at night. So, we didn't sleep well. Too hot and too noisy.

Review 44:they were disappointed that they couldn't swim - it was too cold for the pool outside (although had it been about a degree warmer they would have jumped in) and it clearly was not ideal for them to swim in the spa pool due to cost and comments from the staff

Review 45:The children loved the hotel - they thought breakfast was fantastic and loved the bar area where they could play pool

Review 46:Requested a quiet room with double bed and we were given a room facing the street with two large single beds. The door onto the balcony didn't shut properly letting the traffic noise in - being light sleepers we had two very poor nights sleep. Our room was directly under the restaurant meaning we were woken up both mornings by early breakfasters above us. The only parking available is on site and costs 16 euros a day. Staff were efficient but not very friendly. The air conditioning was a bit temperamental throwing out hot air until I figured that you had to turn it up (instead of down) to turn it off!! Breakfast was good but the dinner menu was very limited. Overall a bit disappointed.

Review 47:The room was well laid out and well equipped with comfortable chairs, lots of wardrobe space and shelves, a fridge and a small balcony. The bathroom was spacious and nicely done. The buffet breakfast was a good selection. About 15 mins walk from the edge of the city centre and about 20 minutes to the Alhambra

Review 48:Noisy room location above outdoor spa and gym. Rooms too hot and no means to moderate and control the temperature.

Review 49:Location for Alhambra Palace visit. Buffet meals and range of choice provided. Style of hotel.

Review 50:Airconditioning was faulty.being asked to leave my room so the cleaner could do it before 10 am.the hotel was used by tour groups so the food left a lot to be desired. It was too far away to eat else where at night

Review 51:Comfortable room and a good balcony.

Review 52:the bath water on the jacuzzi was not hot enough, and the circuit was not used for long, not leaving a nice smell on the users.

Review 53:The bed and room were huge! Wi-fi on the room beakfast was good

Review 54:Parking was a bit expensive, but we found a parking spot just 5 mins walk from the hotel.

Review 55:The hotel was lovely, 10 mins walk from the centre, room was very spacious. The Spa was very pleasant.

Review 56:Nothing.

Review 57:Wonderful accommodations and located just an easy uphill climb to the Alhambra. Easy access to other areas of Granada. We were very happy with this choice

Review 58:We were firstly put in 2 connecting rooms, one room was on the main stair case, in front by the busy road and the windows were broken and the shutters, it was very noisy. The guy at reception was terrible.

Review 59:We got moved to the back of the hotel in a really nice quite rooms. I suggest you look at your room first. The lady at the reception was excellent.

Review 60:Nobody really helped us with the luggage when arriving. The personnel on the desk seemed to be used to elderly people (maybe , to us as a young couple he seemed to be snooty. The first impression of the room was standard size with big glass door/window to the balcony. The wallpaper seemed to be softened due to moist on some areas. The floor in the bathroom was full of black long hair and sticky. The super-fancy marble tiles have seen better days. Not the cleanliness you might expect at a four-star-hotel. The hotel hosted large groups of asian tourists, who do not really sleep at night. While washing hands at 05:00 in the morning I was observed by a one inch (3 centimeters) cockroach appearing from under the trash can! After trying to step on it, it knew exactly where to hide under the facing of the door. An open staff-door on the hall showed us the "real face" behind the facade. The next day the receptionist did not even react to my complaints and only offered not to pay the garage: 13,-€ discount for not being able to sleep and use the bathroom. Of course we renounced to use the spa. I do not recommend this hotel. Better look for less glamour and stars but more seriousness.

Review 61:We booked the hotel because of its good situation in Granada, close to the city-center and Alhambra. The pictures of the hotel in the internet looked fairly nice (and indded there is some glamour) and there was a nice internet offer including spa. When we arrived, our car was taken to a car park by the personnel.

Review 62:The reception staff were not the friendliest, the parking a bit expensive and not on site.

Review 63:The location in a quiet area, the spacious rooms, the pool area, the bar area.

Review 64:No soundproofing at all meaning that not only I could hear noise from all the rooms around me but machinery (washing machines?) meant there was a loud noise and vibration every 10 mins from very early in the morning. A very bad night's sleep even with earplugs! Also no electrical sockets available: the entire room only has 2 and they are taken up by the fridge (which didn't work) and the tv (no international channels) and were buired bedhind a cabinet. Very poor for the modern age. The bathroom was very small, with no towels on arrival and several minor repairs needed. I made the mistake of having dinner in the hotel as the a la carte menu was off due to a coach party. The food was adequate but very little choice e.g. desert was either pineapple or a sponge slice. Breakfast was of the same theme - again or reasonable quality but very limited choices. I wouldn't bother to go back here again.

Review 65:Clean good sized room, comfortable bed , nice swimming pool, private parking (at a cost) and helpful staff.

Review 66:No tea coffee making facilities, empty fridge would expect at least water in a 4star hotel two small things that let it down other wise fab. Hotel.

Review 67:Wow factor reception beautiful pictures, varses, and stair case.good breakfast, good location for Alhambra and town.

Review 68:nothing

Review 69:Staff were helpful and friendly. Loved the pool and surrounding patio Enjoyed the walk into town and Alhambra, neither are very far and we love to walk. Liked the proximity of Placeta Joe Strummer, (at the end of the street approx 200 yards from the hotel) though we still haven't worked out what his connection to that part of Granada is. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that. Wifi didn't work so didn't waste any time sitting around on the internet, got out and connected with the real world instead.

Review 70:The hotel bar closed at 11pm! Breakfast was expensive for what was available The road was noisy Lots of coaches picking up and dropping off at the hotel

Review 71:The Spa was excellent The room was comfortable but basic Reception staff were efficient Free safe in room

Review 72:Has all the amenities - good wifi, wonderful big rooms, quality service, remarkable breakfast, swimming pool, spa - a hotel to spend more than two evenings in. I was able to hear my neighbours, but that was no big nuisance. Practically sleep was wonderful. No direct public transport going there, but walking is limited to about 500 - 600 meters. And you have a very picturesque route both to the center and to the Alhambra starting from the hotel.

Review 73:Ideally situated to visit the Alhambra Palace. Superb facilities, absolutely first class buffet breakfast, and, as this was included in the price, this was an excellent deal. I would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.

Review 74:Reception staff were unhelpful and even rude at times, particularly when asked to book taxis for us. Further, when there was banging above our room one night at midnight, they did nothing about it and essentially told us we would just have to wait until it stopped.

Review 75:Pool area lovely and not too busy; Free wifi (although it is a little temperamental); Rooms cleaned well and chamber maids were extremely accommodating.

Review 76:Nothing worth pointing out.

Review 77:A practical, value for money hotel within walking distance of the Alhambra and the city centre. Do not be put off by some of the negatives - the hotel is perfectly fine. Nice pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Definitely recommend it.

Review 78:Everything was perfect! Thank you!

Review 79:The hotel looks amazing, really high quality. The employees are really kind of nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend beautiful time in Granada. The swimming pool is also really good.

Review 80:the reception staff are predominantly men who look like security. As soon as I came down to reception in the morning I was greeted with are you paying by card or cash.

Review 81:nothing particularly

Review 82:The location of the hotel was great, close to everything but not right in the middle. Clean room, staff were nice and helpful. Nice poolarea and you could borrow towels from the reception. Granada is a wonderful city and we would definitely stay there again!

Review 83:The breakfast wasn't too good, bacon needs to be cooked more for us Brits!

Review 84:We liked the fact the hotel was comfortable and an easy place to be. Not at all stuffy.

Review 85:- we booked a room with a balcony. We were given one at the back of the hotel with a small barred window and no balcony. When confronted the receptionist said there is nothing he cam do as he is out of rooms. They dis not charge us for the parking, in order to compensate the higher price of the balcony room, however that was not the point. We were for 1 night in Granada and we wanted a balcony badly. - the room was small and far from 4 stars standard. Might have been even below 3. The wardrobe did not have a door, the firniture was very tired. - the room was facing a busy street, with havy traffic and people walking that you would feel they are inside the room. The window bars were the top of it. - all in all a dreadful experience. If you are in Granada - the city is packed with hotels offering great deals so choose something else. We made a mistake.

Review 86:Nothing

Review 87:Rude staff. Thin walls. Cigarette smoke coming in through the air con either from the room next door or staff smoking next to the inlet.

Review 88:Swimming pool for cooling off in the granada heat.

Review 89:The local breakfast produce was delicious but what a shame the coffee was Nescafe from a machine! It was quite noisy first thing in the morning.

Review 90:We received friendly service throughout our stay and were made to feel really at home. The room were large and spacious and well air conditioned. Although the bathroom was a little tired in places the shower and facilities were good. The swimming pool area, bar and access to a balcony from our room made the stay a real success.

Review 91:The hotel was initially a bit hard to find (hilly and narrow "one-way" streets). Many thanks to the Local Police who escorted our rental car to the hotel..

Review 92:Balcony provides a panoramic view of the city and the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is also a beautiful hotel.

Review 93:Having to pay for car parking but this seems to be very normal in Spain as opposed to France or Italy.

Review 94:Everything. Breakfast very good. Hotel booked Alhambra tickets for us. Pool lovely with area for drinks.

Review 95:Hair dryer in the bathroom did not work.

Review 96:Nice spacious room with a little sitting area.

Review 97:Beautiful room

Review 98:The braekfast was rather poor,

Review 99:Location on walking distance to the Alhambra

Review 100:Having to pay extra for the spa facilities, the room was much too hot.Would have liked a kettle in the room.

Review 101:Room size, location, helpful staff

Review 102:Great value. Fantastic staff and facilities Great decor and atmosphere.

Review 103:`old fashioned` design and `old fashioned` staff who do their job like robots

Review 104:The size of the family room

Review 105:The view is not bad. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

Review 106:Excellent location Staff very helpful Breakfast adequate

Review 107:But the room what that just little be enough worn out no to say that it was excellent.

Review 108:The hotel is very good and the staff were helpfull.

Review 109:excellent arhitecture and decorations

Review 110:Beds were too hard and uncomfortable. Hole in the bathroom floor. Bidet and shower leaks

Review 111:M.Rosario gave excellent service in the bar.

Review 112:walls between rooms too thin aircon noisy building a little tired no tea/coffee making facilities

Review 113:clean and tidy good location

Review 114:Great staff good location

Review 115:Wifi didn't work at that time

Review 116:Location,rooms with nice terraces, swimming pool...

Review 118:Cama cómoda, habitación muy espaciosa

Review 119:Shower facilities in the room.

Review 120:Decor and hotel's charming/floral atmosphere

Review 121:Wifi not working

Review 122:Decor and ambience

Review 123:Staff, little parking, thin walls, no breakfast or morning coffee before 1030.

Review 124:Location

Review 125:Good location for sierra Nevada ski area and easy walking distance to city centre

Review 126:Posh looking. Nice balcony in south facing room. Lovely staff mostly.

Review 127:The breakfast was not the best good coffee but the food wasn't really that nice.

Review 128:Staff were very helpful, nice and clean hotel.

Review 129:Access to the restaurant required the use of 2 lifts from the 4th floor

Review 130:The room and general service

Review 131:A four star hotel should have a good restaurant. Spa is close during Sunday.

Review 132:Spa facilities was nice. We had spacious room and clean.

Review 133:Bedroom a bit noisy during the night.

Review 134:Very convenient,helpful staff.

Review 135:Room was lovely, recently decorated. Comfortable and clean. This is my second stay at the Los Angeles and I would stay again.
