Review 1：Internet didn't seem to work inside the room.

Review 2：The location was lovely. Cute, cosy inn by the highway and with a backdrop of mountains. Clean and kitschy room. Lovely and helpful family who own it.

Review 3：The quilt is not warm enough for a windy winter night……maybe just I am not used to it. My friends and I (3 people) stayed in a 3-bed room(one is double size) and one bed is too far away from the heater……and it's a little bit noisy we can hear our neighbour guests showering……

Review 4：Titisee is really worth visiting. And this hotel would provide a transportation pass for guests within their stay. That's really nice so we do not need to spend extra transportation fee.

Review 5：Staff walking into the room before our check out, leaving the front door open while our things were in the room, as well as leaving balcony door open making our pets freeze for a long time. The staff takes liberty of throwing things that they deem rubbish even though they are belongings.

Review 19：the room was filthy, the baby dropped a toy under the bad - it was covered with dust. the shower was very old, low light so hardly can see anything. the main lobby is outdated - no one will have any meal in there.

Review 21：When we arrived a group of dirty unwashed teens just stared at us for aminute and then ignored us, we then found out they were the staff. Theywere quiet aggressive when we asked to leave our bags somewhere afterthey refused to check us in before 5pm then tried to refuse us thediscount card for local travel and attractions. They also hang aroundoutside by the balcony at until the early hours playing loud music andthey sent us away when we walked past, telling us we can't use theoutside area at night. The kitchen had a thick layer of dirt and greasewhich hasn't been cleaned for years. Flies everywhere. We paid cashfor the room and I just discovered they also charged my card which Iused to make the booking. We traveled Asia and stayed in better placesfor £2 per night.

Review 23：1) Although we arrived on Sunday, within the established period of time, there was noboby in the reception. Several customers were waiting more than half an hour till we realized that the keys were on a hidden table. I myself gave the room key to a couple that arrived half an hour latter than we.2) Extremely unpolite management: I asked for an empty glass to be able to drink some water and the response was a monosyllable: NO!. I though the hotel's manager had not undestood me and I remarked that it was a empty glass not filled with water. The response was the same monosyllable: NO!. 3) No sheet in any of the four beds. You have to sleep over the matress. Only a quilt to cover you at night. 4) Matress extremely soft. 5) Our two rooms were filthy and I had to kill four flies. 6) Breakfast: Nothing

Review 25：Rooms were minimally made every day - beds made, shower dried, and that was it. Floor not swiped, sink not cleaned, and the dirt kept piling up. We had to get our own soaps, and actively ask for shampoo or towels. Shower is very small.

Review 26：The prices are reasonable, compared to other places. Location is ideal - very close to Titisee, the great Badeparadies waterpark, Aldi and Lidl supermarkets, and the staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast looked good, but is too expensive for children. Beds were comfortable, so if you need a place to shower & sleep in the black forest, and don't want to spend a lot of money, this place will do good.

Pool absolutely filthy . Everything is worn well worn even the pillow was an old quilt folded up awful just awful . breakfast was awful they used to do a hot buffet but no longer doing this now it's dry bread and cereal and coffee with a nice cup of warm orange juice very poor indeed . The food well thats gone downhill too rubbish . stayed here 3 times before unfortunately it has got worse each time , never ever again will I stay in this place . No one on hand to help or guide , in fact the One and only time staff were remotely nice was when I went to pay the bill . It's all about making lots of money and doing nothing for it the pits Will be staying at the HOTEL 200yards down the hill next year immaculately clean and modern too

Review 44：We went in winter as a part of our motorcycle trip in the black forest.Booked this place just 2 days before, managed to get a place! AlthoughI booked standard room with double bed for me and my wife, we ended upgetting the family room with one double bed and two single beds withtable, sofa and chairs with wardrobe. The toilet was huge with bathtub.THe views from the front window and side window are great. The placewas super clean, easy check in and check out. Breakfast is goodalthough its simple. I would love to stay here more and more Value formoney .. all the time!

They left a paper( everything is in German) with our key. Breakfast was not so good. The night we stayed there were kids running in the halls, making a lot of noise.

"Reception" was never open because staff were always sitting in the bar with their feet up so we had to check out in the bar in the morning, right next to people eating. Probably THE worst place I have stayed in, in the world. Definitely do not recommend and no idea how they even got a rating of 6.

The furniture were very old, overused, no back pillows on the coach, stain on the coach. Heavy smoke smell in the common areas. the hotel is just near a traffic road and not up in the field as per the picture.....the all place will benefit from a good renovation job that will not have to be expensive but somebody should do a daily maintenance check.

Review 109：We found a t-shirt under our covers that was not ours and they did nothing to explain it neither they offer to change the sheets or anything. The WIFI didn´t work at the room and again no one did anything about it. In general, the place was not really clean and the staff could not care less about anything.

Review 113：Whilst the booking and the confirmation were made for Sonnenmatte, it turned out on arrival that no rooms were available and we were accommodated in a hotel called "Loeffelschmiede" in the middle of nowhere! We had chosen this particular hotel due to its close location to a nearby hospital where we intended to visit a family member. Being sent to a different accommodation really was not helpful. If there are no rooms available, or if they are located elsewhere, then this should be visible when trying to book.

Review 115：DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !!! I drove for 4 hours from Frankfurt, when I reach there and walked in the hotel there was no one on the desk. After waiting 20 min the owner came from the back and yelled at us saying how did you come inside and I told him I got a booking for 6 night. He went back in and came back with a key and said room 42 and left again without saying anything. Everything in the hotel is very old seems like since they open they did not change anything. So in the evening I went downstairs and asked what time is breakfast and the daughter told me 8-10 but after four days I found out that she lie cause they had a tour of 35 people at the hotel from Spain and they wanted to serve them first. So that wasted a lot of our time in the morning. Breakfast started from 7-10 every morning. Free internet my a**, there was no wifi in my room or any where in the hotel the only place you could get service was at the restaurant were you need to buy drinks before you are able to sit and use the service even thou they say in the add free wifi all over the hotel and free of charge. In 6 night of stay they only changed the towels one time. If you really want to stay close to this location get a hotel in Todtnau it the next town over it is so much pretty and also close to every thing.

Review 136：It's a value for money hotel with an easy going attitude. It's a no frills and trills place to stay. No great extras, but for the price we paid, we didn’t expected any. The place was clean, tidy and functional. Maybe a bit outdated and old fashioned, yet it still has character. The location is a between Titisee and Neustadt, so a car is essential, since it’s a bit of the beat and track – depending on what you have planned it’s either great or not. Great for hiking or a quiet retreat. The hotel is family friendly. The breakfast is plain and simple.
