Review 1:The fact that we could not park at the Hotel's parking because the walls were too small to fit our car. My fiance was mad about it. Why does the shuttle service have to end at 1pm :-(??? We told that it's complimentary.... That is not good at all... compared to your competitors it ends at 11pm.
Review 2:Some of the staff were warm and welcoming, the ones that stood out was the kitchen staff Sipho, Paul and Nandi :-)
Review 3:Reception and the manager were very rude when we got to the hotel and we found out we could not use their advertised rooftop bar as they had "outsourced" it to another company for New Year's Eve. The manager basically told us to look for another hotel and left us at reception. We eventually decided to stay and later went up to try our luck at their "sold out and outsourced" rooftop bar we managed to get in even though we ended up paying 1600zar for 4 people, what really got me mad was seeing the very same manager working at the event that she said she has no control over and couldn't speak to the event organizers to let 4 of her hotel guests in. Also a 4star hotel with no mini fridge to keep our beverages cold is disappointing.
Review 4:If staying on the Anderson Rd. side, the noise levels are quite high at night.
Review 5:Central - close to lots of activities. 2 restaurants - one fine dining, one cafe - both great service and food. Staff are super friendly, and assistance is quick.
Review 6:You could hear the party in the room down the corridor. Loud music till about 2am!!! Also for the hotel with 16 floors there were only 2 lifts in working order. Going for breakfast took over 10 min waiting for the lift one way only!!!

Review 11:The interior designing of the room doesn't match to the expectation of a 4 star hotel. It makes you feel as if you are staying in a hotel that is under construction or as if they couldn't be bothered to complete the construction. The price that is paid you would expect more.

Review 20:Based on the location, I probably would no opt to stay there again as it is quite remote, quiet and travelling home from functions in the late evening pose very unsettling. Housekeeping was quite efficient most days but all items were removed from the bathroom with no replacements which forced me to find a housekeeping assistant. The general review of the food at the Gold Mine Cafe restaurant wasn't the best and items requested from the menu were not available for consumption.
Review 21:The staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Breakfast included was really great and tasty (often too much for my tiny tummy).
Review 22:Probably a mistake one day they didn't vaccum my room.Food is good but there is still a need to improve. However, I'm told that's Johannesburg's food everywhere it's not tasty like Cape Town or Namibia's restaurants or hotels food.

Review 33:When we arrived in our room, we couldn't take a shower because thewater was cold . maintenance came up to the room and informed us thatthe geyser switches off automatically and that is likely why the waterwas cold. No apology for the inconvenience. We then went down to dinnerwhere halfway through the meal, the lights went off even though thehotel claimed to have a generator. We then sat n darkness "waitingfor the generator to kick in", while the waiter kept leaning overus to use the candle on the table to light other candles to place on theother tables. When our meal arrived,I had to send back my steak as itwas tough and dry and slightly overcooked. The worst was when we decidedto go to bed, tired after a long drive to find that the linen (sheet andmattress protector) had a nasty dried up blood stain. We called themanager up who did not seem very disturbed by this and he offered tomove us to another room. The room we were moved to had the mostuncomfortable bed ever,and we were once again moved. The manager seemedvery insincere and defensive when we complained.

Review 41:Open bathrooms - not everyone's cuppa tea. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare!! You will not get anything larger than a VW Polo into the lot without damaging the car. Lifts are ancient and take forever to get to you - we opted to use the stairs - faster!!

Review 56:The make a copy of your credit card front and back without covering any digits. Fire alarm was going off a few times a day. Did not have refrigerator as advertised and when I asked for ice, it was difficult getting some. I had to involve management to resolve the issue. Bed pillows were too flat. You need two to three pillows to level your head while sleeping. Power shedding is going on/throughout in South Africa at the moment, so you will have no power for 2 to 5 hours per day or every other day. Need a small car to go through the parking garage.

Review 63:I didn't like the drive way to parking bays. Drive way is too narrow to drive thru to parking bays. One can easily dent his/her vehicle if not extra careful.

The shuttle service we used to get to the FNB Stadium and back was very, very poorly run as we stood in the cold for more than a hour and a half after the show waiting for the car. The television did not want to switch off. The shuttle service was very expensive for the service we got!

Review 70:I stayed two days and only had cokd water, or at bedt tepid to shower. Managment lost booking.com pre-booked reservation, so i had to pay in usa dollars at local blackmarket exchange rate which was $15 more than booking.com quoted me, sadly Monalisa was off when this came about or else i am sure she would have sorted it out, the two night managers I dealt with had no clue at all, I had to get booking.com to call them 3 times to no avail. All in all it was ok, but I doubt I will use the Reef again.
Review 71:Staff were friendly, especially lady called Monalisa, she was the only one who had a clue aboyt reservations and catered to every enquiry. Room was clean, and food was excellent.

But we still experienced criminal in The CBD just after a few hours stay in there. But thanks for the staff in Reef hotel. They are very helpful and consideration. Accompanied with me and my fiancé in our rough time. And very considering of our feeling to make us feel safe. Thanks a lot.
