Reviews for Felipe II
Review 1:When we visited Pennsicola it was very much end of season and we found there was very little choice as far as restaurants were concerned.
Review 2:Thought the price for the bed and breakfast for one night was very good.
Review 3:Our room was in a separate building to the hotel, which is not indicated by or shown on the Booking.com web-site ... it felt very much like staying at the YMCA! No hairdryer in the room nor fridge (though there was a cupboard where a fridge had originally been). Reception said we could have a fridge at a supplementary charge.
Review 4:Location ~ Free Parking ~ Affable Staff
Review 5:hotel is on ground floor only so very long walk to some rooms eg 150 metres light bulbs not working fly screens hanging off no blankets
Review 6:car park very friendly
Review 7:The wifi network was down due to storm and didn't work in the room. Breakfast is the same. Dinner dishes vary each night, if you are not picky at food you can definitely find something to eat. It is at a 15-20' walk from the castle. The price is a bit high for the offer.
Review 8:The staff is very kind and nice. Due to prolonged bad weather, we checked out 1 day earlier You can borrow hair drier, phone chargers etc from reception. Room is clean, average size. Location is good - close to the beach.
Review 9:they had a childrens party on when we arrived, which degenerated into an adult party in the evening, making it impossible to have the booked evening meal. We had to go out and buy a meal ! We found accident likely puddles of water on floor in restaurant. We found rotten fruit in the fruit bowl in restaurant. Ran out of toilet paper in room.
Review 10:Location was good, and the food was acceptable Because of our complaints, we actually got a full nights stay refunded.
Review 11:The rooms bear little resemblance to the photos. The hotel only occupies the ground floor - the other floors are apartments All rooms are ground floor with little or no view, a small outside space with bars in front and a noisy a/c unit which leaks water.
Review 12:Location excellent. Breakfast good value Large room
Review 13:Only one chair in double room. Pillows a bit thin for us. Toilet cistern plumbed into hot water, very strange. BUT WE WOULD CERTAINLY VISIT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.
Review 14:All the staff were helpful and friendly. Both breakfast and dinner were to our taste, the choices were plentiful. The time range for meals was excellent. Access to beach couldn't be easier. Bus stops outside hotel, cheap, clean and regular service. Nice pleasant walk to castle, town etc, and mainly flat. Free safe parking. WiFi connection free and good.
Review 15:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 16:Staff were helpful and pleasant. I think the hotel is one of the original hotels on the front. We visited about 14 years ago and alot of hotels have sprung up. Therefore the Felipe is showing its age but still has charm. Breakfast was what you would expect in a small spannish hotel. A beautiful place, beaches and plenty of places to eat. Mainly visited by Spannish people which was a joy.
Review 17:Nice friendly hotel. The al carte menu was superb, best steak ever.
Review 18:Wonderful, happy, professional staff. Excellent food, well presented.
Review 19:The size of the bed was amazing!
Review 20:It is need of an update, but very good value for a couple of nights

Review 27:We were placed in an annex of the hotel, no balcolony,no hair dryer
Review 28:The bar
Review 29:Lack of gluten free food
Review 30:The buffet for evening meal
Review 31:the hotel staff were very friendly
Review 32:No negativ to say.
Review 33:The evening meal was not up to standard and choices were limited
Review 34:Friendly staff, nice room, breakfast had a good choice of items.
Review 35:your website says all rooms with private balcony, in fact no rooms ( only apartments) have a balcony !
Review 36:close to the beach
Review 37:Food was very poor, we live in Spain and know the standards, unfortunately this was not up to them.
Review 38:Location and easy to find, staff were very good and rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 39:A fridge would have been good and a hairdryer too.
Review 40:Easy to see the town from here but just far enough away from the busiest stretch. Our train was not until late in the day and they let us stay in the room until then. Very helpful.
Review 41:No comfortable chairs to sit in at night
Review 42:The wind spoiled it but great balcony overlooking wetlands ,small sea view the other . The 2 girls were very helpful when we needed it
Review 43:being picky no views from enclosed terrace but at this time was not a problem
Review 44:excellent value for money staff some of the best we have encountered for years and with a warm and comfortable room
Review 45:Lovely setting for a hotel across the road from the beach. Nice size room very clean. Staff very pleasant and we had free parking. Breakfast was excellent very good choice and coffee that was not out of a machine. We would visit again and recommend. About 20minutes walk to the town with plenty of resaurants and bars. There was just one thing that we found daunting, all rooms appeared to be on ground level, some looking at a wall, we had one overlooking water and reeds. It had a covered terrace with bars over the opening which made it secure. We had the sun in the afternoon which was very pleasant. It actually grew on us this barred terrace.
Review 46:Breakfast could contain more choice and fruit and vegs (which were otherwise abundand fr the evening meal). But this is normal in Spain: breakfast is simply not considered important :-)
Review 47:Nice small hotel for those who do not favour "big hotel factories); The staff was very friendly, peronal and helpful; The beach is good and just across the (rather calm)street; own parking is real asset in this area!
Review 48:The hotel is obviously a summer season venue. We were 2 of only about 10 others .The whole place looked tired and we are sure a different opinion would be evident in the summer when there are more guests. Also no wifi available in the rooms.
Review 49:Location and parking facility
Review 50:Location . General very good all round .
Review 51:Staff very friendly location good ,off-road parking .good value for money
Review 52:I would stay there again
Review 53:Sea view. Across the street from the beach. One km into town. Todo bien.
Review 54:our room faced the street and was quite noisy.
Review 55:Easy to find. Nice hotel.
Review 56:Hard Bed.
Review 57:The sea view from the room. Breakfast ample and varied.
Review 58:No view.
Review 59:The staff is very friendly, the hotel is in a good place, excellent breakfast
Review 60:Excellent value for money and a friendly service - the hallmarks of a well-run family hotel.
Review 61:Location and staff is excellent. Very nice town.
Review 62:Bedding smelling of smoke Ants in room
Review 63:Location
