Reviews for Hotel Meson de L’Ainsa

Review 1:Rooms a little tired and need brightening up. Breakfast not worth cost, town has lots of better options to eat, go to dos Rios in the evening for great food and prices(get light menu for 2 courses, wine, water, bread at less than 12 euros each)

Review 2:Excellent location, on site parking.

Review 3:Well located for overnight stop or a longer stay to explore the area. Staff very helpful and obliging. Secure parking with easy access. Several restaurants within easy walking distance

Review 4:Cannot think of anything we didn't like about the hotel. Brit's need to remember that Spanish restaurants don't open till 9 pm!

Review 5:Great location, big well equipped room, massive breakfast choice, secure parking, easy walk to old town. In house restaurant served good quality simple meals. Lovely view from our upstairs river facing room.

Review 6:All good. Meatballs cold at dinner but nothing really bad at all!

Review 7:Excellent parking for motorbike. Lovely staff who made a real effort to speak English to us. Close to beautiful old Ainsa

Review 8:The bathroom was decorated in lime green and dark blue. Nice!

Review 9:Room had a fridge and balcony. There was covered parking at the rear and a hose to rinse the road grime off. A lift also was welcome in the heat even for one floor.

Review 10:The position of this hotel is ideal, a short walk over the river to shops and restaurants, although quite a climb up to the old town - good for walking off dinner! Loved sitting on the balcony taking in the scenery and watching people pass by.

Review 11:Some beds weren't great. Wished pool were onsite and hotel more central.

Review 12:A little farther and very uphill to the old part of town that I realized, but great free parking and a good spot to take off on different hikes in Ordesa Park. We didn't eat in the hotel but it looked decent. Liked the separate but connected rooms for the family habitation.

Review 13:Our welcome was someone shouting to us in the car park to take our dog up the back stairs.Had to sit outside with the dog for dinner, but it was dark and unwelcoming not even a candle. No effort was made to make us comfortable. We felt as if we were a nuisance.

Review 14:We stayed twice: the first time the room faced the square and was not very quiet - the second time, the room faced the mountains and was very quiet.

Review 15:Very easy to reach Friendly staff Superb parking Motorcycle friendly

Review 16:Poor wifi reception in rooms located at either end of the building. Facilities like fridge etc vary from room to room. Some light bulbs not working.

Review 17:The good breakfast Tiled floors cool and clean. Plentiful hot water

Review 18:The rooms are a bit old fashioned, there was no nice lobby or nice place to sit outside the room.

Review 19:Good location, cute little balconies, amazing breakfast for 7 eu, short walk up hill to the old city.

Review 20:Nothing This was our second visit and hopefully not our last

Review 21:Stunning breakfast Lovely room Ainsa is the perfect centre for walking, mountain biking or touring The hotel staff were very helpful

Review 22:Breakfast selection: fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread & croissants, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, hot potato "tortilla", which is like a cake you can slice, and more. Also appreciated free parking.

Review 23:Clean , comfortable, good location.

Review 24:Staff were very helpful - even had a few Spanish lessons thrown in. Very convenient for exploring the area (motorcycle) on some great roads.

Review 25:Clean, comfortable and reasonably modern. Staff friendly.

Review 26:ROOM A LITTLE COLD. NOT MUCH HOT WATER

Review 27:GOOD LOCATION. BIKE FRIENDLY. GOOD BREAKFAST. GOOD VALUE

Review 28:The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Review 29:Looks old fashioned, IS old fashioned. Half-board is good value but food is uninspiring.

Review 30:Well located for the N260. Free off road parking.

Review 31:Dogs barking, a lot

Review 32:Covered secure parking

Review 33:Incredibly noisy

Review 34:Safe parking

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:Location and surroundings Covered Motorbike parking

Review 37:Poor breakfast Poor dinner Noisy dinning room with loud TV and staff didn't respond to our request to close it ...

Review 38:todo en general, la comida casera espectacular.

Review 39:The location and the locked car park.

Review 40:They welcome pets. Consistent high quality. Good value for money. Clean.

Review 41:Fridge poor and no kettle.

Review 42:Secure undercover parking.

Review 43:nothing

Review 44:Easy to find hotel with access for parking great had a lift easy with luggage ,staff friendly and all was a great stay.

Review 45:Not much

Review 46:Mid 30 temperatures so air con was a bonus. The terrace but it was too hot to enjoy it. Great staff behind the bar.

Review 47:The beds provide only average comfort.

Review 48:Walk across the bridge into the main commercial district. Good views of the mountains. Helpful service.

Review 49:This was a very economical Hotel yet clean and friendly. Bar food was very good value.

Review 50:as ornithologists we were able to travel to local areas quite quickly

Review 51:clean value location

Review 52:Breakfast was not at the usual standard, but not many people in the hotel at this time of year.

Review 53:Good location

Review 54:Welcoming staff; easy to find; stunning location

Review 55:Small rooms

Review 56:Friendly atmosphere, clean, location, Free WiFi, good A/C

Review 57:Everything! Very friendly staff, excellent value half-board.

Review 58:no wifi in the rooms, only thing I can think of

Review 59:nice omelet sandwiches at the cafe, good location near shops and not far to old town

Review 60:Having paid extra for it Our balcony was at the back ! With no view

Review 61:The location

Review 62:Location. Clean, comfotable rooms. Good bathroom.

Review 63:view, location (short walk to little shops etc)

Review 64:As a motorcyclist I have stayed at this Hotel before And this year traveling with a friend both 0n bikes I stayed again. As motorcyclists we found the private secure parking to be the clincher. But the location is great being close to the brilliant road that leads through the tunnel to France (watch for goats French side) the staff are friendly and speak some English. There is also a lift so you dont have to carry your panniers up the stairs!!! The Medieval village on the hill at Ainsa is well worth the walk up with suitable refreshment stops of course!

Review 65:No bad points , excellent value for money

Review 66:Well appointed modern rooms, with balcony, free on site parking, good wifi reception, on the edge of town. Short walking distance to old town.

Review 67:The fridge in our room was not working and after a long journey we had some time to wait for the restaurant to open.

Review 68:it was a beautiful location easy to find and easy to park.

Review 69:Other reviews say that the Wi-fi is excellent, however we could barely use the internet instead having to go to the bar to get excellent speed. This may have been because we were in the corner where I think they put all the people with dogs!

Review 70:Good breakfast, big rooms and very pet friendly.

Review 71:Being in an area with so many tourists from around the world you would at least expect some basic english speaking staff.

Review 72:The hotel is easy to get to and has a big private parking behind the hotel. Most of the staff of the hotel only speak a few words of english which actually made me signup for a spanish course back home, but at least they tried to help. The rooms are big although a bit outdated but the wifi was perfect. Breakfast was good but is open at 8am. We were there for hiking in Ordesa NP and wouldn't mind to have breakfast at 7am. Also dinner is really late in the hotel, we went up to the old city center to have our dinner. If you want to have an dining experience, you should really go to Callizo and have the 12 course "stone" menu, it's a real treat and a lot of fun. Whenever we go back to hike in the area we will probably stay in this hotel again but hopefully speaking a bit more spanish. ;)

Review 73:I would not recommend having the evening meal in the hotel, while the portions were generous the quality of the food was poor.

Review 74:Great breakfast, good location.

Review 75:There was nothing about this Hotel that I did not like.

Review 76:This Hotel has excellent parking, the dining is simple, traditional and very well done at modest prices. The rooms have airconditioning and they were kept very clean. a short walk from the town, across a bridge and a little further from the delightful old town and castle, on the hill. This Hotel is modestly priced but excellent value for money.

Review 77:The only thing going for this hotel is the location. Nice views. Staff are very unhelpful. They have a good spacious car park. There were 3 visible hosepipes in their car park / rear compound bit they still point blank refused my request to use one to clean my car after a long road trip. The lady could only speak 2 words of English: "not possible"! Beware: The family room were not the ones shown in pictures but were dated and worn. The room was infested with mosquitoes. We suffered lots of bites. Avoid this hotel as they don't care to please customers.

Review 78:Staff were unfriendly and even rude. We like to make an early start in the mornings - the sign on the parking door said it opened at 7am which was early enough, however there was absolutely nobody in the hotel to check us out until 8am. This is very poor.

Review 79:The location is good, just across the river from the old town. There is plenty of free, secure parking with covered section if you are quick enough. The views over the river and the old town are lovely!

Review 80:Main problem, noise. Tile floors noisy doors closing in morning. Talk inthe halls. You could hear everything. Closet are next to each other andthe bang, bang, bang when some one pulls something off a hangar in thenext room. This is an older family hotel and everything in the room isdated, bed usual, not great pillows. But it was not expensive and thelocation is a balance point.

Review 81:This is one of the most beautiful places in Spain, a bit of a drive, butthat is also part of the beauty. In a valley with mountains all around.Had a refrigerator that was off when we got there, took a long time toget cold, but is completely silent in operation. Castle town right outthe window with balcony. Gorgeous view. Free parking. Seems to be afamily place with a lot of people using the meal plan at the restaurantand using this place as a take off point to explore the mountains.

Review 82:We did not take any breakfast as we thought it a bit expensive. The room looked rather different than the impression we got from the photos.

Review 83:Friendly, hospitable without any fuss. Modest people who simply trust you. Quiet hotel, central location in very nice town. Good ventilation possibilities (window, small balcony, blinds, airco).

Review 84:Staff were unfriendly and not understanding about our disablement and especially towards our small dog who was not allowed under any circumtances to travel in the lift, even if carried. Our stay was marred by the attitude, and made things difficult for us to be forced to climb the stairs. There was no problem with understanding or language as I speak both Spanish and French.

Review 85:The bedroom was clean and a good size with disabled bathroom as requested.

Review 86:The hotel was very comfortable, clean and quiet. There was a very good buffet breakfast. I was also able to skype my wife with a strong wi-fi signal. There was covered parking for our motorcycles.

Review 87:Good location, our room overlooked the river and old town.we stayed here for 4 nights in June to tour the area, wow fantastic.we took the half board option, excellent value for the cost, buffet breakfast was good, and three course evening meal with wine was also very good.hotel had nice bar, with tables outside.good free car parking.room was very comfortable, had fridge & air con.very clean, good size ,as was the bathroom. The staff in hotel very friendly, and helpful.we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and would recommend anyone to stay here.would stay here again.

Review 88:No water or facility to make a hot drink in room. Breakfast was slightly disappointing in quality.

Review 89:Very clean and comfortable room with use of a fridge which was useful. Good shower.

Review 90:This was a stopover but the village of Ainsa was also excellent as a destination. The hotel was very good with secure parking. Good evening meal in the Hotel restaurant. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will stay here again.

Review 91:Rooms were lovely with balcony views of the setting sun over the old town. Staff were extremely helpful and very present. Good selection of menus at very reasonable prices and good covered parking for our bikes. Overall excellent

Review 92:Having to go home.

Review 93:This is my second visit to the Meson De L'Ainsa and it was with agroup of friends travelling by motorcycle to the area as its in thesweet spot for a lot of the central Pyrenees and has free secure parkingfor your car or bike, the hotel is super clean and the rooms large andcomfortable, the half board option of a 3 course meal with about 4 or 5choices of each course, starters, mains and desserts, wine, water &bread is also included. The staff are lovely and so helpful as is heowner and his family. I would have no hesitation in staying a third timeas €86 half board for two people in a balcony room overlooking theriver, old town and mountains is a bargain.

Review 94:Outside paint job forced upon the owners by the local council..........

Review 95:Recommended by a friend. £86 for a double room with evening meal (With wine and water) and breakfast......... Fantastic value. Great location.

Review 96:The staff were remote and detached. We got the impression from reception that they were not all that interested in giving any real service with no smiles and very little eye contact. The room was reasonably clean but the neighbours above had a child who was constantly knocking on the floor and banging on the radiator. The shell of the building reverberated with banging doors etc and was generally noisy. The breakfast was poor and had not been refreshed after a bus load of tourists had left.

Review 97:Good location. Easy to get to the old buildings at the top of the hill. Good parking. If you get the right room, corner, overlooking river and up to the old town the view is spectacular. Hotel very clean.

Review 98:It's a great location to explore Ordesa National Park and Canones de Guara. The hotel is close to shops, has a very spacious car park space and easy to find. We arrived very late and had to cancel other room, both without any issues from the staff. Air con work really well. All to be happy with. Nothing to complain about.

Review 99:A fantastic hotel In Ainsa, the staff were brilliant, breakfasts weregood, evening meals excellent, half board was a bargain (even included abottle of wine and water with your meal), rooms were spotlessly clean, large and comfortable & had views over the river and old town, airconditioning worked really well (it was really hot when we stayed) freesecure parking and free access to the local outdoor pool which waslovely. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 100:This hotel is immaculately clean. The rooms are very comfortable with balconies that overlook the medieval village. There are many good eateries close by and the medieval village is also within walking distance. The hotel also had free, covered parking. It is great value for money

Review 101:The table d'hote evening menu, was varied and of good quality. The buffet breakfast, was plentiful. Good value for money.

Review 102:Clean and comfortable room. Basic but good breakfast. Parking on site.

Review 103:Ainsa is interesting town with high-up castle

Review 104:Friendly staff always helpful very welcoming

Review 105:Great rooms, and very good Owner/Staff

Review 106:dark black hairs in shower and bed

Review 107:large rooms small fridge

Review 108:Convenience to town, car park, hospitality, pets welcome.

Review 109:Top Hotel, well run by a lovely family , looking forward to staying again nexted May

Review 110:Rather dated decor

Review 111:Good value with friendly staff, nice large rooms.

Review 112:Hotel suffering from low patronage in the "off season"

Review 113:Location in the mountains next to the beautiful river

Review 114:Location, price, service
