Review 5：The pictures on booking.com were misleading. We actually were placed in an apartment, 300m up the hill from the hotel. Despite available rooms in the main hotel, no free upgrade. Shame, could have encouraged me to come back.

Review 7：The staff is efficient but is a informal treatment. Our room is in a outside place, walking 350 mts, climbing a hill.if you like walking around it is ok, but I will prefer to know before. We didn t know that We need a reservation to dinner, nobody told us, and when We arrive the man told us that It is impossíble dinner because there "always fully booked"(was not so gentle), and told us to return 1 hour later, and everything was ok. The food was good.

Review 14：Across the street from Lake Titisee, but excellent view from our 3rd floor balcony. Wonderful lunch on their terrace restaurant fronting the lake. Walking distance to the town and its attractions.

Review 15：The room confort was really good. However, they assigned to us a room close to the main building in a third floor without lift. With a little baby is annoying. . When I comment on this they told me I should have asked when booking a room with lift. I recommend to ask for room with lift. Rest was really good.

Review 16：We were very disappointed. because of the bad smell, very old and ugly furniture, dirty carpet and very old impossible TV. In response to our complaint they changed the room for only one night to another room which was better but located at the 4th floor without elevator!. After this experience we ran away from this hotel to a better one.

Review 21：we booked this hotel specifically because it's located directly on the lake & because it has this old german wood bedroom style. BUT that wasn't the case, we got rooms in a different building located ~300m away from the main hotel. This building looks like challet but nothing like a hotel! We were extremely disappointed, specially that the staff said we hear this comment so often & i can't do anything about that!

Review 27：We got a room in an apartment building, separate from the main hotel building. The room was on the 4th floor, without an elevator. We had to carry our suitcases up without any help from the staff. This was a terrible experience. We will never stay in this hotel again.

The apartments are not in the hotel itself but about up a hill behind the hotel. (Still overlooking the lake!) Review 52：- although, the Booking.com mentioned that "All childeren are welcome", this hotel charged me Eur 200 extra for my two kids. At the time of booking I have already indicated the number of family members and I got good price. But, when approached they asked me to pay more.

Review 63：We had a deluxe jr suite in the annex. It is a row of apartment buildings 1000 meters ... .6 miles - straight up a very, very steep hill from the hotel. We then had a 4 flight walk up with luggage and no elevator or bell service. And NO wi-fi! It is only available in the hotel lobby. When we got back from Titisee after dinner,there was no parking left. What a disaster. Also, the hotel is NOT in Titisee. The lie: They tell you your room is 300 yards from the hotel: it is 0.6 miles. It is straight up a steep hill and so is not walkable. The description of our Jr suite specified free internet. They don't tell you it is only available in the main building lobby, far away. They claim to be in Titisee, but are actually in Hinterzarten, several miles away.

Review 66：Main meals were quite expensive so we chose to eat out mainly. The bar area was an odd shape. Could be improved to make the area more sociable with more seating.

Review 67：A great place to explore the local Black Forest by foot, public transport, vehicle etc. We were touring on motorbikes. We stayed in an apartment which was clean and cosy. It had the potential for self catering but we only had snacks and drinks prefering to eat out. The bed and duvet were comfortable and gave a good nights sleep. Breakfast was very good with a great buffet selection. All food was very good with generous portions. The Red Card provided gave great access to the region with free public transport and entry to places of interest / activities. Staff very helpful.

Review 70：We were surrounded by large families with badly behaved and very noisy children. During the evening our time together spent on the balcony was completely ruined by the noisy guests next to and below us. Breakfast time was like a zoo with noisy and rude, large families. It was the worst dining room experience we have ever had during our extensive travels. The waiters at breakfast were also disgusted with the bad manners of most of the guests and they were apologising to us. We were NOT warned in advance of the awful families in our accommodation. We were very disappointed.

Review 77：However, the fact that it was in a different location stunned us, it was written in the website but I didn't read it propely, once I got there it was too late, all the hotel rooms near the lake were booked, I couldn't upgrade or anything. Also, no wifi in the appartment building was a down for me, we had to go to the lobby of the main hotel for that.

We were given a modern looking hotel tell room 1000 meters away, up a steep hill, from the main building that is pictured. If I had known where my room wasI would not have booked this hotel!

Review 88：The property is beautiful, our room was clean, spacy and comfortable with a very nice lake view. Free wifi is provided. The breakfast was rich and wonderful, loved the fresh fruits selection. Even though we know we are hard guests to host (3 very young and noisy kids), they were very kids friendly and helpful. They had also a small playground with a slide for the kids.

The breakfast was great with a large selection. Also the Black Forest card was a nice thing to get for free! Even though we are difficult to host (3 very young and noisy kids), they were really kids friendly and helpful. I would certainly reccomend this hotel!

Review 91：We stayed in the Apartments above the hotel. Definitely not 4 star hotel.!!! No view of the lake. just the trees. Just a basic style room, nothing special. They charged the price of the main hotel but it is far away from it and impossible walk with kids... so you can't really use any of the hotel facilities... So consider it without a pool and without lake view and with basic breakfast etc...

Review 93：The staff was very efficient and most helpful. In addition to the wonderful service during our stay they drove us and all our luggage to the train station when we left. If you stay there more than one night you also get a pass to ride trains & buses for free. The breakfast was very good. We stayed at their apartments, up the hill from the main hotel.
